The game looks and sounds indredibly good ! That music had me hyped and the graphics are just gorgeous. The game looks like a lot of fun just glancing at it.

That said, I question a few things : -WADS sequence at the beginning is super weird and annoying -pushing shift+S to do a boost is really counter intuitive -This game doesn't require a mouse, so why not just use the arrows of the keyboard as an option ? -Restart and Respawn are too close in meaning and might confuse users (since it resets the save points, that's kind of a big deal) -I am not sure the space button is the right choice for respawning... Maybe enter would have been better...

Still, I am amazed out how beautiful the game sounds and look ! And the main concept behind it works really well.

Simple and elegant game ! Loved it played until I reached 1000 points.

Nice soundtrack too. I didn't grow tired of it which is a testament to its quality.

What a chill and cute game ! Not very hard but very enjoyable ! It works perfectly too. No bug or anything. I learnt, little by little, how to use the choppa by pressing up and down to manage the elevation. This a testament to a solid level design. Real nice.

The pixel art is absolutely adorable and very fitting of the story.

The pads for the choppa could be in orange so they pop more and are easier to see... Maybe.

Had a really nice time playing it, thanks !

I really need to praise the UI, it's feels so nice, smooth and confortable ! And the art/design is amazing.

The tutorial at the beginning was a nice touch and reallize helps to understand the relationship between fire and grass. That said, it is sad the other relationships were not properly explained. I had trouble understanding water tiles and how they worked... I started to feel lost when you said "burry the relics below the best soil" because it wasn't obvious which was better. It's clear that fire is the worst possible layer to add. But what about the others ? Is stone better than sand ? Is hot sand better than normal sand ? Is grass better than mud ? Is grass better than stone ? I have no idea...

But I'm sure if I understood the rules better, I'd have a blast. The game looked hella fun, deep and polished ! Really impressive stuff !

@sarafilipa Hey, I promised to play your game so here I go.

So first of all, that title ! The plot chickens ! That's a high-tier pun ! Love it !

Second, Miss Pumkin is gorgeous ! Vin Petrol is so lucky to have acted alongside her ! To think they where an item at some point... What a lucky chad !

The game was funny, cute, and beautiful. I like how the road wraps around the voxel and I love the blinking traffic lights.

A full adventure written and put together in a game jam, that's impressive. Lots of good puns too.

Now for some criticism : If you can use "i" to open the inventory, it would be cool to also be able to close it by pushing "i". That was my very "eye-opening" critic... (get it?) I got stuck at the "something fresh" like lots of people. I checked the middle trashcan (blue I think) but found nothing at first. I only thought of checking the green trashcan because I read a comment talking about it. Finally, it would be a good idea to put invisible walls between the stands, since I slid in between two of them more than once. Overall, very few minor issues.

Apart from that, it was really fun and fresh (not like some churros I know about) and I had a blast.

The perfect exemple of "simple yet efficient" also very innovative to combine the jumping with the digging. This means that whenever your planning to go down, you have to consider how you will first go up. Nice risk and reward mecanic.

I can picture how this would work with more "character" and "lore". A mining worker using dynamite to dig is nothing unheard of after all. Nice affordance here.

Not sure the laser going from the top of the screen is necessary. Dealing with the gardians is hard enough as it is. Especially since killing them is so hard...

I do not know what value each ore is but I guess the shinier the more points, right ? So blue cristal > gold > silver > coal... I guess.

Really good core mecanic and impressive physics. Nice !

Really impressive concept for a really good game. The mix between a horror game and a phoenix wright game is absolutely great. Feels like Lovecraft meets Inception.

Love the way you make it easier to climb up the stairs. Really nice and good user experience.

I had trouble understanding I could get the key that was behind a locked door... Really counter-intuitive.

Superb sound design and impressive pixel art.

Super interesting game ! The concept is original and unexpected ! I didn't understand how the HP worked at first but it all became clear soon enough thanks to the flawess sound-design with the "twong" and the "ting.

First, the game looks absolutely beautiful ! Bravo ! Second, the game is fun. I played it 4 times. I lost at first, then won, then experimented.

It took me playing several times to understand what is what : Tell me if I'm wrong : -Pink is HP -Green is regen -Red is attack -Blue is magic attack -Orange is defense -Purple is magic defense -Yellow is speed -White is critic -Light blue is avoid

I think you need to do some of the following : -Add a text to the icon, to make it unmistakable -Link several concepts with a color For exemple red sword is atk and red shield is def Purple sword is magic atk and purple shield is magic def

Also, the game has a balancing problem. I tried to do a slime with max HP, max regen and max def and look what I got as a result :

The match was really long but I won with an overwhelming amount of HP... A crushing victory... I then did the same with a slime specialized in physical attack. The match was over in a flash.

I think maybe the game would be better if : -Every oponent is different and specialized heavily (so if they have great def but poor magic def, then aim for that weakpoint) -You knew what the other slime stats are beforehand, rather than showing it at the end

Overall, it was a nice concept and I had fun. It's not often a play a game from this jam several times. But I think the game needs some fixing. Good luck with that ;)

The graphics are beautiful !The concept is simple yet addictive ! Of course, playing on a PC, using the hook is delicate. But shooting with the droid is super fun.

The soundtrack is super fun... Maybe you should have activated it by default for the gamejam... It's a shame not that many people will hear it...

Very nice little game ! I really enjoyed the art and the music.

The momentum of the character really makes it hard (for me at least) to do precise jumps.

Also, getting on the brown platforms can sometimes be extremely difficult.

Overall, I had a blast playing it ! The jetpack and the parachute are nice features for a game based on going deeper and deeper.

Loved the bouncing animation of the bird ! The final upgrade was fun and cool !

The game looks great as every asset is consistent with one another, except that one big cartoony tree that is kind of an eyesore. A shame you could't make/find a better tree...

The flying mecanism was fun, if a bit weird to control.

What a cute fun game ! So I'm a breathing cube wearing a diving suit ? So nice XD

The music is super chill and the sound design is fun. The graphics are fun and adorable. It clears that some sacrifices had to be made and yet it still looks great !

The gameplay is fun ! I love that I don't lose everything when I die so I still feel like I'm making progress ! Nice game design choice ! The coreloop is simple yet pleasant !

I never understood why a mission failed or not. Sometimes, it seemed obvious that snow shoes would help (in syberia) and yet it didn't. Sometimes missions succeeded with me not giving any equipment...

Also success should be written in green for better user experience.

Overall, I really liked the art and the sound design of the game.

Would advises ton always consider AZERTY and QWERTY keyboard when crafting a game. France and a third of Africa will have trouble playing your game. Maybe add the keyboard arrows as a playable options by default.

Apart from that nitpick, really impressive ! Loved it !

First of, I love the squeaking of the projectile. The sound design and music were on point.

I also love how the projectile can rebound on the character. I would have loved to see some puzzles where you juggle with the projectile.

Speaking about the puzzles. The puzzles were cool and well designed. It's a shame that sometimes the target/spikes was/were out of sight.

The ending actually is far deeper than the simple graphics let me think.

Nice and simple, really cool game. I enjoyed it quite a lot. I had trouble getting to the end.

If I had to point out some issues : 1) Maybe make it so the fire ball vanishes if the eyeball is killed It is upsetting when you kill and eyeball and still get hit afterwards Worse, is when you clear a level and still get hit 2) A roll or some way to avoid damage would have been fantastic.

Apart from that, I found the pixel art charming and the fireball sprites are great. The game really fits the theme too. Nice work !

Hey everyone ! Thanks for playing ! I did the art and part of the game-design on Defiled Reflection. I'll try to answer some of the questions.

@taigha We didn't know about the game "The Medium" but it looks super cool. I really want to play it now.

@john-chapman @orbitalblueprint @noke We had plenty of ideas we couldn't implement in time and plenty more we got after uploading the game. Maybe we will add more later, when the Jam is over ;) We did notice the issue with the game not being displayed fully without maximizing it in html5. It has been fixed. The double death is not game-breaking so we did not fix it for the Jam. We will fix it when it is over though. Thanks for bringing that up to our attention.

@verygenuinecraze @joonamo Thanks ! I was able to focus mainly on the sprites for this project. I did more than expected. It helps that I am a vampire and therefore do not need to sleep ;P

@gamefive It is difficult to implement easy/average/difficult during a game jam. That said, you are spot on with your second commentary. An indicator of the level the player is at would be a soft reward so they can think "I've come this far" and/or "still that many level to go".

@denzil-gomes Glad you liked the colors. We hesitated between red&blue and yellow& purple.

@sand-gardeners Yup ! The main idea is for it to be confusing and upsetting. Which is why it is set in a ghostly manor.

@molpe Thanks for playing and for sharing your playthrough! Loved to see it. You were so close to the end. I think you still had 2 puzzles to solve to get to the ending "cutscene".

We know about the "die twice" bug but that was the first I saw it happen with the "falling animation"... Weird... We'll look into it. We plan to fix it once the jam is over.

Oh and you are right... We are evil. Mwahahahaha!
