It took a while for me to realize why I was dying on the second obstacle, wasn't entirely obvious that I was supposed to press a sequence of buttons there. But once I figure that out it was smooth sailing, well done!

Good job. Good that there is a respawn ability, otherwise it would be frustrating. The obstacle with the button sequence is weirde at the beginning, took me quite a lot of turns to figure it out. The boost would maybe be better on a single button and not sift+S. Nice music and level design. Graphics are also super nice!
This was fun once I figured out that you need to press the WASD combination in the order shown on screen to unlock the gates.
It was a little confusing to play at first, I didn't figure out that you have to click shift+s until like 10 deaths. And the same for the 2nd WADS obstacle. But other than that, really nice. It felt great to speed up and break through obstacles. And adding checkpoints was a nice touch.
The instant failure when pressing an incorrect key can be a bit confusing indeed, but smashing the other obstacles with the boost feels amazing!
The game is fun! I was almost turned away by the sequence button obstacle, as I thought it was a piece of UI and that there was an invisible obstacle that was causing me to go gameover. Luckily Bentebent's comment caused me to reevaluate so I could play the game. I think some of the obstacles had just slightly too small area's of success which made the game more about memorization than reflexes. (Might just be my preference though). Other than those two hickups the game was fun, the art is nice and the music sounded good. All in all a good entry!
I like the WASD pressing obstacle. This game very short, but good.
Great graphics, music and sounds! The gameplay fitted the theme and it had more depth than I initially thought, trying to manage your boost to get the lowest time possible on repeated tries, even though the content was quite limited. The idea was also not the most innovative, but I am not one to judge since I made pretty much the same game :p.
A few remarks: = The boosting feels a little bit buggy. Some times it didn't work at all and others it worked when I was pressing only shift. Also I think it should be remapped to a single key press, only `Shift` for example since it doesn't do anything else by its own (it would be even better to have only `S` but I can see you might have problems with the WASD button promts you are asked to press duing the game) - Speaking about the button prompts, it took me a while to understand what I had to do and I was ready to give up right at the beggining. Some more guidance on this the first time you see it would be welcome.
Overall great try, but for your next LD I would suggest to cut a few corners and spend less time on implementing the mechanics of the game and more time on creating more levels and finetuning the level design. It took me a few LD entries to understand this for myself and it made a difference in the final quality of the game.
The style, and the audio fit the mood really well. The start, that learning curve is a bit rough, but after you know what to do, you can have a bit of fun with this experience.
Great graphics and sfx! Nice work!
Thanks for participating in the jam!
I loved the art and audio! The falling drill thing doesnt make any sense and was fun anyways.
The controls I think could use some love. The shift s thing is a bit involved for a game you have to react that quickly in.
I liked how you slowed time in order to allow time to key in the combo for the lower things.
Nice job!
After the few runs at the start to understand the controls (probably a bug, for the boost to work, you have to press S then Shift.) Despite this little problem, the game is pretty well done, although a little short. Great job and congratulation
Cool game! I enjoyed the WASD part, it's a nice little twist. And it's a short track, easy to memorize what's coming next. I got down to 27.33 seconds. Great artwork and level design, fun mechanics, great game!
The graphics and sounds are great! I really liked how you made that WASD part, I would have been happier if there had been much more of it. And you should have made the hitboxes more forgiven. A good game, well done!
Great graphics, atmosphere, and music. Really reminds me a lot of the Velocity games on PS4/Vita, which are some of my favorites of all time. I agree with above posters that Shift+S is awkward to hit and could probably fit on one key (Space or just Shift). The WASD parts were a nice touch but it wasn't always clear to me how much time I'd have left to input them, as I'd get a game over before actually hitting the barrier. Generous checkpoints helped paper over those sections though. Great game!
Love your graphics, music, and mood! It took me more than a few tries to figure out what was up, it would have been super nice in the beginning to have a way to slow myself down, even temporarily. Great job!
It's fun! The basic idea of the game is a good one, and the obstacles are well thought out. I like how it's not that hard to finish, but it takes a lot of work to get a good time. The graphics and sounds are great, and work together well. The slowdown effect is nice. I would have liked more levels. And an explosion or some other animation on failure.
This was fun! It needs more feedback, especially on the first couple of obstacles, but it was enjoyable to play.
Given how narrow the shaft is, the horizontal speed is a bit high. It makes it very hard to be precise.
The art is nice, and the music works very well for the style of game.
Very cool game! Good job!
This was neat, the obstacles and "quick time" of having to hit buttons was reminiscent of mavis beacon (this is a compliment I promise!! ) I think a little variance or control over speed would have made me faster. I was over a minute and a half and seeing some of these other speeds is crazy haha! :)
Nice game, wish there were more levels to keep going. Seems like it would work well on mobile with multiple levels. Thanks for the game.
It was really good except the levels felt very redundant
@spiderbat2089 Well actually it's just one level and you're trying to improve your time! We wanted to add multiple levels but time ran out so we decided to do it this way.
Nice game and fun to see somebody else also using Ableton Live for creating music :). which VST is it? I'm using Sylenth1 A LOT..
@smiley I used TAL-U-No-LX, highly recommended!
A lot of feedback already and I agree with most of it. The presentation, music, graphics, etc. are all very polished but the UI/level design maybe leaves a little to be desired. It's hard to see whats ahead and some of the obstacles/split-paths happen immediately after a boost-wall so, if you're on the wrong side when you boost, you will always fail - meaning the gameplay comes down to just memorizing the current "checkpoint."
That being said, it works pretty well as a memorization/speed running game and I had a good time with it! Nice work!
Great presentation. I would say however that it feels like remembering routes is rewarded more than skill, and it would be more fun if it was the other way around. But still, i like the different obstacles and the game plays well. Great music too!
I liked it. Felt pretty good. I liked the choice off respawn & restart. Good job
Nice game! Really visually very nice and music is good too...I like the changes as you go deeper.
Wish there was more levels or a longer level with more mechanics. After playing for a little bit my best time was 19.905. Good job.
Nice little game! Really good job, especially correctly scoping your game! There's a whole bunch of different mechanics that work nicely (the key sequence was a bit confusing at first though!)
Very minor complaint - the Restart & Respawn buttons are very similarly worded, and close together, and I clicked restart instead of respawn by accident more than once!
Would've liked to see more levels, but good job!
Ok, the graphics and audio is good, and I like how the game is nervous, but I was a bit disappointed at the beginning it's due to controls. In general, there is a lot of good ideas.
Nice art, great sound. Well done!
The game looks and sounds indredibly good ! That music had me hyped and the graphics are just gorgeous. The game looks like a lot of fun just glancing at it.
That said, I question a few things : -WADS sequence at the beginning is super weird and annoying -pushing shift+S to do a boost is really counter intuitive -This game doesn't require a mouse, so why not just use the arrows of the keyboard as an option ? -Restart and Respawn are too close in meaning and might confuse users (since it resets the save points, that's kind of a big deal) -I am not sure the space button is the right choice for respawning... Maybe enter would have been better...
Still, I am amazed out how beautiful the game sounds and look ! And the main concept behind it works really well.
Took a few goes before I understood the door puzzle, but got there in the end.
Fun mechanics, lots of room to expand. My best time was 31.9
funny little game, love the music and the door mechanics, however i found a bug where pressing shift +s doesn't work and pressing s + shift does work(it is the key pressing order i am refering to) anyway well done!
Nice entry. Could do with a tutorial level and perhaps more forgiving hit detection, but the graphics were polished and the audio suited it well.
cool game. I loved the `Best Time` feature, as you can see your progression, once you figure out, how to play
The music matches the asthetics of the game perfectly, in my oppinion and the graphics look amazing.
I wished, the level was longer though :see_no_evil:
Took me a bit to figure out what I should be doing to not die over and over again. But once I figured that out the game was quite fun.
Cool art and music as well. And I like the idea of a looping level to try and beat your previous time.
Wish the level was a bit longer but you wrote that you had time issues, so I understand. All in all a fun game.
Very fun game. The design of the operation confuses me. Why dash need to press shift and s. can't only press s?. And because of the distance of the dash, it is easy to hit the subsequent terrain, which will be very difficult for the player to dodge while sprinting
Solid game buthe horizontal speed was a bit much and since the wasd keys where used for there things too I would to see the arrow keys be utilized for movement/boost instead.
Nice fun game! Checkpoints were really welcome addition. I honestly was hoping more dashing trough obstacles when you are playing as drill and all. Over all fun game.
Pretty fun game! It is a little hard for me, but I like to keep trying. Well done!
Glad I didn't give up on this game. I struggled with holding Shift and S. Perhaps just S alone would enough? Also didn't realise I was dying because of the key combinations until I came to the comments here. With the beginning out of the way, this is a very good game. I really like the feedback you have on boost and the crash through the barriers as well as the music slowdown and speed up, very nicely done
