@indigowolf Thanks for the heads up ! It was a problem with a setting in Itch.io, you can play it now ! I checked out your game and left a rating :)
Really great stuff! The art style is brilliant. Combined with the audio, it creates so much depth and atmosphere. The gameplay was just a little bit too slow for me, probably because I wandered up and down for ages before realising I could pick up the key without being in the same room as it. Apart from that, really great work for the 48hrs!
Got hooked, you really nailed the atmosphere. And man that ending… Just awesome. There were some typos hre and there, and I think the beginning could have taken place in the "office", so there's stuff to look at. I really enjoyed it, I still have the chills !
enjoyed the game! really enjoyed the artwork too!
Quite unexpected and unique and a little weird imo ^^
This game is one of the best entries for this game jam. The great sounds with the narrator make a really scary horror atmosphere. The art graphics are great too.
Very appealing game, definitely nailed the atmosphere. The ending surprised me quite a bit (without giving any spoilers) and the story fit perfectly with the theme. At times the character movement was sorta slow/clunky but it helped build tension that was necessary for the story. Really nice looking game too, great job!
The best I played so far, great game, I'm not a fan of suspense games, but this one got me. 10/10 Grats, you got five stars in everything but Fun here.
I like that the game has some art house vibes. It is also quirky and weird. The atmosphere is good, it just works. The puzzles are basic and repetitive, but I think they suit the overall experience well because you're going deep into a mind and it could be feel like this.
I also found a bug when you may fall down if you go left on the second floor in the first scene.
loved the intro and cinematics (would enjoy the whole experience just as an animation just as much - more of this and diaalogue choices would be great). Also the fear of backtracking was building in my mind and was pleased you thought of that and circumvented it happening. psychological horror theme was nailed. well done!
Well done! The graphics are superb and loved the atmosphere!
Great game, best so far I have reviewed! But why not webgl? I really enjoyed the lightning, graphics and sounds. The pixelated effect combined with dynamic lightning looked awesome! The premis was also interesting. At times it was even scary! It is not far from fully fledged game. :) I hope you had fun time making this awesome game!
this was such an amazing game. rare to see horror games but this one was perfect. the audio added to the suspense, the images were terrifying (in a wood way), the art was fitting. amazing work
Very impressive. The art, especially at the end, was very good. The contrast of the two instances of the house was also quite effective. It would have been nice if there was more to explore.
Pretty art, i really like the style. I am getting almost Disco Elysium vibes from this games, which is a good thing. I like the small touches like custom cursors for keys and magnifiyng glass. The camera could use a bit less damping as it was overshooting. And I was able to walk out of the room and started falling indefinitely. Overall a very nice experience!
Full marks for mood, the art style and sounds were very immersive. At first I felt like it needed some way to click through the text, but I suppose leaving it to enforce the pacing helped contribute to the mood as well.
I did find a bug where if you walk into the darkness in the top room the first time you find it, you fall off the edge of the world (I'm guessing that wasn't intentional!). There were also some other minor bugs/glitches (I got stuck briefly while trying toenter the last door, there are a few typos).
But totally understandable for a 48 hour entry, all in all pretty solid. Well done.
Nice art, very good audio. Being able to skip the introductory voiceover would have been nice, because I read everything on the game page. :)
I enjoyed that you managed to tell a short story with very little time.
Really impressive concept for a really good game. The mix between a horror game and a phoenix wright game is absolutely great. Feels like Lovecraft meets Inception.
Love the way you make it easier to climb up the stairs. Really nice and good user experience.
I had trouble understanding I could get the key that was behind a locked door... Really counter-intuitive.
Superb sound design and impressive pixel art.
Loved it ! Tanks for the game.
nice! and that is lots of doors ;) One of the first Ludum games I have played that have dialogues. The creepy feeling gave the game a nice mood. The only issue I had was with one of the keys I didn't understand how to get at first. I don't know if there a multiple endings depending on the question you answer halfway through..
Beautiful game, very well told the story, original, excellent setting and sound. Congratulations.
Has a good sense for mood and I'm getting strong Lovecraftian vibes from the atmosphere and story. Navigating is a bit tedious since the walking speed is so slow, apart from that good job!
Outstanding game! Absolutely loved the atmosphere/art, and the story was a nice twist on a familiar premise, well-fit for the theme. My only qualm (and this is nitpicking) might be that the text seemed a bit small and spread out during the otherwise solid dialogue scenes. It was just a bit distracting having to look around to the edges of the screen, which hurt immersion. Followed and looking forward to the post-Jam version!
Great game and creative take on the theme. I was especially glad that I don't have to walk all the way back up :D But the Shadow within is real. Making the Unconscious factors conscious is not an easy task, and the archetypes within can overwhelm and possess the ego. I have created a game with a similar premise, would be grateful if you gave me your opinion on it :)
Man... this is a really well done, moody creepy game. The ending is freakish. Well done.
Hey matey, thanks for submitting your game to the stream! I really enjoyed it, and I hope the feedback was helpful. Here's the vod if you wanna rewatch:
