LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Fallen Shovel by silkworm_sweatshop 2021-04-27T16:13:13Z

A fantastic awesome entry in this jam. The game showed me how much I suck at platformers. The gamplay, the controls and how the movement and the combos feel is absolutely well polished. No excuse: I'm bad.

And the soundtrack is just rad!

Magic Worm by namnam 2021-04-27T13:32:42Z

Worms as wizards battling each other with the mysterious wheel of spells aka rock-paper-scissors is hilarious. Good job! Eventually you could show the name of the symbol in the pop-up, too. But the Symbols are really good.

Aqua Snap! by Roboimuri 2021-04-26T19:32:07Z

Your game has a great atmosphere. The music is kind of soothing and that it gets darker and darker is really cool! The fish with their soulless eyes look scary.

Moot by Peco 2021-04-27T09:38:57Z

Really awesome game! The sounds and especially the art is simply amazing. A really unique style. Everything feels very polished. As @bqq mentioned already, it seems the game is just waiting to be expanded and ready for more and more levels ;)

Addict. by SachaY 2021-04-26T20:20:47Z

The Try-out. The Great Rush. The Breakdown. Really funny game and awesome idea. But the jumping is awful..

The Deep by TheMoonrise 2021-04-27T19:19:20Z

Hey @caca I just played your entry "[20.000 light years deep in the sky](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/20-000-light-years-deep-in-the-sky/lets-find-eden-the-lost-planet)" and it's incredibly good!

Yes, as others have commented a tutorial in-game may have been a good thing... But somehow figuring out what to do and what the gauges, levers and displays do/show seems to be the experience a lot of you are enjoying in the game.

Thank you so much for playing the game and for all the comments here.

Re:Ship by thevinter 2021-04-27T10:14:19Z

Great atmosphere! I got a message from someone warning of monsters.. never heard of him again... And the random events are grim.

I liked it that there is a lot of detail to the crewmembers' bio. For me it would be better if the game would run a bit slower. The first round I just read the bios and checked the radio and all of a sudden the game was over. When I figured out what was going on in the next rounds it was still very hectic.

All in all it is a great submission.

Deep Roots by myrmyxo 2021-04-26T21:34:30Z

Great game overall. The puzzle mechanic is something you have to get into at first. That's great. I absolutely have no idea how to beat lvl 8 though... the left root is completely blocked by poison.

Gone Diggin' by XeduR 2021-04-26T19:54:49Z

Great game! I like it. It's great that the time doesn't start counting until you pick up the first gold.

Esophagus' inCRYPTion by Baconeta 2021-04-27T09:24:13Z

Nice game! Really good take on the theme. That the mazes are getting bigger and bigger the deeper you are in the Pyramid is great. I completely did not realize there was something hidden that you eventually need to rest in peace ;)

As @dimonoider mentioned having a smoother camera or maybe movement without the camera moving would make the gameplay feel much better. All in all a really good submission.

Esophagus' inCRYPTion by Baconeta 2021-04-27T11:06:23Z

@flyingkiwi a hovering arrow over the items would be way too easy imho. In my case a more direct hint (like the pop-up text) in the beginning of the game that I have to look out for something would have been enough. Keep it up! :)

Enter The Golfeon by Steven C 2021-04-27T08:07:49Z

I'm bad at mini-golf! But your game was really fun :) I gave up at the bridge with the water under it eventually...pshhh!

Deeper Well by Feraligatr 2021-04-27T15:38:12Z

That is really a... Well that's deep ;) You really did a great job. There is so much you can already do in the game and the controls are really intuitive.

Mystical Island by azakharov 2021-04-26T21:57:19Z

This is the one of the most diverse game regarding theme and mechanics. I liked it! RNG is hard but I guess that's like it is... A marker, where you are and some highlighting where you can go would be awesome!

Asterisk by Crychair 2021-04-27T08:49:53Z

This is an excellent game! The voice acting is great :) And the title's black hole looks rad. I'd love to have a jump though...

48 Leagues Under the Sea by Micia 2021-04-26T20:57:08Z

I like your game. Great job :) Good idea with the rooms.

Bee Beesness by Anaxie Studio 2021-04-27T08:33:09Z

Cool game! First I had to figure out which bee is which. Sorry, Bea and Abeegail ;) But soon the honey was bumblin' in. All bees starting in spring was satisfying to watch.

I just don't know about the approach to the theme. Bigger and Bigger would have been more fitting. But hey - Bees! :D

l'Abysse by JyriO 2021-04-27T10:48:39Z

This is a great little game! Perfectly made for this jam. The atmosphere and mood of the game is really well done. The pixelart fits perfectly. I really like the introduction in the submarine especially while it is getting darker and darker.

Moth extraction by rhys_vdw 2021-04-27T14:38:32Z

My ears are itching. Awesome and cruel game!

Stir Cry by icxon 2022-04-06T06:48:43Z

Great entry. It is hilarious. Also, Rosemary OP! xP

Bomb Fuse Madness by svntax 2022-04-06T07:23:11Z

Fun game and a good take on the theme! Also, Madness is a fitting title. ;)

Piggy Pileup by candlesan 2022-04-07T13:32:34Z

This is a really cool and new wordgame! Gameplay is intuitive and smooth. I'd guess graphics and music came a bit short due to the jam (music is nice but a bit repetitive after some time).

OBRUTA by Dmitry Kaidash 2022-04-05T12:23:06Z

Hey! I really enjoyed your game. The graphics are really cool and unique and I really like it that the light orbs are following you around.

Different Strokes by Scott Steffes 2022-04-05T14:28:33Z

Awesome! Found a sculpture while being lost...22-Apr- 5--16-21-44_.png

Wipeout by TheMoonrise 2022-04-08T06:59:48Z

Thank you so much for your nice comments and the positive feedback! We got the 20 ratings! :)

@anhievus that sweet, sweet dopamine :D

@magus77 that's an interesting idea with the G-sensor...

@arihan10 Good thing pointing this out! I'm not 100% sure here because @themoonrise implemented the logic but the wave should reach you faster, the more tricks you fail. You are totally correct, that there is a lot of tweaking potential in general. :D

@korfi Impressive! (I didn't get past 30k... xD)

Heal me, please! by Andrey_Zhukov 2022-04-05T12:42:38Z

Cool little game! This is fun to play. Especially if it gets worse and worse.

A feedback point would be: Why do you need a shelf *and* a shop? It would be so much easier to have the shelf with all ingredients and you pay as you use them. Browsing the ingredients would easier, too. Now you have to switch to the shop which is a bit unclear because you have to scroll.

We Need To Talk by Doot 2022-04-06T06:42:04Z

Congrats for your game. It feels really polished! And you nailed the theme. :D

Lovers Defence by metatheria 2022-04-05T12:13:44Z

I really liked the Pixelart great job on that! It's a solid towerdefense game. It would have been helpful and nice to have if there was a pricetag on the different towers and an overview what every tower can do. Now I just had to figure it out ;) And I was confused with the up-down/left-right movement :D

The Bay of the Ineffable by HendrikLober 2022-04-07T10:37:00Z

Congratulations for your first ever Jam! You did a great job and hit the theme really well.

I managed to keep the settlements at bay. At some points I could just spam the big dudes. If there was a way to destroy the campfires the inevitable would have been evitable ;)

I liked the sprites and the general gameplay. The sounds were a bit annoying in the end. All in all a solid entry for the jam.

Nature Is Healing by KingOfSpill 2022-04-06T06:59:05Z

I really like how the mold spreads and recovers after burning. If you *have to* burn mold it's basically too late :D You created a great atmosphere with only few elements.
