This was a blast. I got to the third depth, 2nd checkpoint and had like 60 some strokes. Erp. I think some sort of trajectory guide when charging a shot would help a ton. I loved the transition from "generic mini golf course" to "wtf cave system" a lot. That reveal and the music change was a big wow moment. I'd love to see a game expand on that with more 'worlds'. Nice job!

Look out Golf with your Friends! Physics are a little floaty which could make for some unique gameplay options! Thanks for making this!

budark 2021-04-26 15:00

Nice game, with multiplayer even would be better.

steven-c 2021-04-26 15:02

@harrison-dunn Then you were almost at the end! And thanks!

massillon-magic 2021-04-26 15:02

I lost my words this is insane!! How did you do that in only 3 days ! I can only say GG !!!

pseudohausen 2021-04-26 15:02

That was a lot of fun, though the level design feels very punishing. The sound effect that plays when you die made me laugh. The camera could have been pulled back a little from the ball, and the ball could have been a little less floaty.

steven-c 2021-04-26 15:08

@massillon-magic More like 1,5 days :smirk: Thanks!

ryannielson 2021-04-26 15:10

Great little golf game, I really like the atmosphere and the transition from hole 1 to 2 was pretty cool. The difficulty jump between the first and second hole was a bit high in my opinion. Maybe an option to play without a stroke limit (or maybe an easy mode where walls are added) would help so players could see all the holes. Great job!

steven-c 2021-04-26 15:12

@pseudohausen Thanks! haha, that sound is just me saying "pshh", cause I couldn't find a good sound  And now that you mention it, it is a bit floaty indeed, I got so used to it that it didn't occur to me, but I actually made everything way too big (the ball is 1m big), which causes it to be so floaty.

vectrex28 2021-04-26 15:15

Wow!!! That was BRILLIANT! I've had so much fun just doing crazy shots and trying to find all of the secrets! (I only missed one :( ) Also, there's a few bugs such as clipping into the void or the game sending you back to the checkpoints despite not going OB, but other than these minor nitpicks this game was FUN FUN FUN!

Thank you for this excellent submission!

steven-c 2021-04-26 15:19

@vectrex28 Thanks! Oh wow, I didn't encounter any bugs myself. Where did you clip into the void? The game will normally only send you to a checkpoint when you go out of bounds or have no strikes left and the ball stopped moving. When did that happen? Maybe I can still fix these bugs then  I'm glad you liked it this much!

the-g 2021-04-26 15:22

Very good, pretty similar to Golf With Your Friends but actually with some more interesting visuals imo. I'm also just as bad as this game as I am in GWYF! Also gotta love the Suzanne heads. Great job!

pseudohausen 2021-04-26 15:30

@steven-c You could try turning down LinearDrag on the RigidBody, and possibly even increasing Gravity (Edit > Project Settings > Physics). But it's not a deal breaker or anything, you did great!

steven-c 2021-04-26 15:34

@pseudohausen I actually increased the drag as I felt it takes to long for the ball to slow down. The gravity feels low because I made everything way too big and never even thought about it

steven-c 2021-04-26 15:37

@the-g Aha! a blender connoisseur!

vectrex28 2021-04-26 16:01

@steven-c I think it was right before you first encounter the red walls

pdotjpg 2021-04-26 17:21

Ha, I love the progression from something simple and generic to the strange, unexpected and HUGE in scale. Really fun to zip your golf ball around those massive caverns. Game has a lot of character. Approve of the Blender monkey head. Excellent work.

txanevk 2021-04-26 19:44

Pretty game. Loved the graphics and the music is correct. Very polished gameplay.

bangkerpow 2021-04-26 22:28

Truley the darksouls of golf games. I really liked the take on the theme.

andykswong 2021-04-27 00:32

Challenging but fun golf game! Love the fact that I can strike mid-air to get to the 2nd hole! And I like the Blender monkey head :)

spaceguinea-productions 2021-04-27 00:35

Very fun game but it is reeeaaalllllyyy hard. Good Job!

diabolical-sloth 2021-04-27 01:35

very fun game but the difficulty spike after level one is MASSIVE

flayff 2021-04-27 02:24

I had alot of fun, liked the new approach to the typical golf game. I agree on the hard part but I didn't mind that, some challenge was good. The blender collectables were awesome.

But the freaking best part of this game was the sound when u hit a red object "Pshuuuu"

squirmonkey 2021-04-27 05:00

Wow. No joke, the best game of the jam for me so far. Loved it.

I only got 1 golden monkey out of 7 (because I have to ever sleep), but I did finish it! Really good stuff. Enjoyed thoroughly. Last bit was especially fun too. I need more levels!!!

The music was a bit repetitive though.

zolar 2021-04-27 08:07

I'm bad at mini-golf! But your game was really fun :) I gave up at the bridge with the water under it eventually...pshhh!

evannex 2021-04-27 09:03

This was super fun! Level 2 was SUPER tough comparative to the first, but WOW great entry!

potatolain 2021-04-28 01:08

I got serious golf with your friends vibes from this. There's not a lot to be said that hasn't already been said honestly. The reveal on level two was unexpected (even reading the description) and very welcome! I like the idea of a non-traditional course too. It'd be really cool to see this idea evolve into a full game.

I always try to give a little critical feedback, so here's that. As others have said though, level 2 was a huge difficulty jump. I'll +1 the suggestion of an option to play without a stroke limit; I think that would have made it more enjoyable for me. I hit nearly 200 strokes by the end, and I came close to giving up a few times.

Don't let the critical feedback take away from this though - you've got a great entry, with a clever use of the theme. Thanks for a fun entry.

poweranze 2021-04-29 14:11

I have nothing to add that wasn't said already, I just want to reiterate how fun this game is! Also, now I absolutely want a golf based exploration game!

offdutyextractors 2021-05-02 08:35

Very fun game. Being able to hit the ball while its still moving was very chaotic.
