Love the art style! Reminds me of Catan a bit. I do miss some instructions though, it took some time to figure it out.
Edit: It was very fun to play though! Nice submission ^^

Yeah the icons are a bit cryptic. We tied it all together in the last moments and the usability fell flat a bit. Thank you very much for playing!
Fun one! I'm unable to survive very long at all, but that might just be in accordance with the theme. As a big fan of catan, the role reversal was awesome. We were also a team of two doing it for our first time, so I definitely agree with the surprising nature of the time constraint. Still, this is a very impressive first go at it, good job!!
Really nice game, even though it's simple I really enjoyed playing it. I would maybe suggest if you come back to make a post-jam version or just small edits now, that you could have a couple different sound effects since the sound got a bit repetitive. But that is just a small edit. Overall, great game!
Really cool game, I would have loved for the games to go on a little bit longer but I enjoyed it!
I Like it short and fun.
One bug though i can't win I killed all them.
Little confused at first, but came up with a good strat from using the goats and the first guy. Looks great!
Very fun concept once you get the hang of it
Fun game, but I randomly lost the game even though there was nearly no one left, but otherwise great work
I love the design and the concept is interesting in a good way :v:
Simple, but so much fun
I recorded myself playing, message me on the Jam’s discord @ Dark Peace and I’ll send it to you. I didn't really got how it was possible, it feels like you really can't do anything. I mean that might be the point but I can't last longer than a min so idk.
Congratulations for your first ever Jam! You did a great job and hit the theme really well.
I managed to keep the settlements at bay. At some points I could just spam the big dudes. If there was a way to destroy the campfires the inevitable would have been evitable ;)
I liked the sprites and the general gameplay. The sounds were a bit annoying in the end. All in all a solid entry for the jam.
I was a bit confused at first, maybe a little tutorial or some UI tips would help? Understandably not under the time pressure of the jam, of course. But congrats on finishing! The game looks nice and the concept is promising. Keep it up!
it make me think a lot of catan
Congrats on your first game! 🎉 Some game end indication and scoring would be really useful. I like your art and villages updating.

Icxion holy smokes thank you for your review! I love what Protolife became and I am frequently returning to it. I loved NetStorm as my first tower-offense game and your cellular automata really knocked the concept out of the park. It has some of the best solutions to the common problems tower defenses face I have seen so far.
Thank you for your time, you are an inspiration, man.
Congratulation on your first game and welcome to the Ludum Dare community! The only thing missing is some instructions either in the game or here in the game description, because the player feels confused at the start. Once I get hang of it, I reduced humanity to ashes XD Nice art style and cool sound effects (a bit of variation of monster screaming would be a nice addition). Anyway, well done!
Wow, I'm sure my first game was not this polished lol. Loved the art style and the concept. The mechanics were solidly implemented and agree with another comment that a score would be a good addition to allow you to measure how good you did from run to run. Great game though :)
