LD46 — Keep it alive

Final Flower: Petals of a Lost Age by Scott Steffes 2020-04-21T07:24:13Z

This game is awesome. I find myself being very proud of myself for doing three or four things and then catching the flower. It's like sticking the landing while snowboarding or something. Graphics are great. Sound is Great. All around well built game.

ALL CAPS: The Incident at Puppy Canyon by KyMakesGames 2020-04-21T03:24:54Z

Nicely done. A very simple idea, cleanly executed. Took a second to figure out what to do, but after that it's fun.

To the Moon and Back... by ETdoFresh 2020-04-21T03:11:06Z

Nice work!! A fun little visual novel.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

All the same by Erkberg 2020-10-09T14:21:46Z

This is a great little experience. I really admire your ability to take a few simple elements and assemble them into something with a great emotional impact. Well Done.

What Goes In Must Come Out by SimplePotential 2020-10-10T23:59:48Z

Solid little game, I had fun.

Thunder Rally by smilewood 2020-10-09T23:34:10Z

Very cool. I don't think I've ever seen a game where the whole mechanic is the upgrade system. I enjoyed it.

Rest In Peace by Somnium 2020-10-08T11:57:48Z

Nice little Compo submission. I can tell you that chose a scale for this game that would allow you to do a small number of things well. Rather than a large number of things poorly. Congrats!!

Janky Marble by infinitycore 2020-10-08T06:36:26Z

Neat idea. I think there's a lot of ways this game could go from here.

Around by mahalis 2020-10-08T11:39:34Z

Nicely done. Getting things to move along the path of a mobius strip must have been an interesting challenge.

Trynex Nuclear Laboratories by ildfuglen 2020-10-07T02:31:51Z

It looks like the start of a very good game. I'd be interested to see what comes of it, if you take it further.

Loop Swat 'em Gravity by Nick Rafalski 2020-10-09T14:44:27Z

Very interesting mechanic. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it. I got to the to fourth wave, but I think luck had a lot to do with it. I seem to do just as well by spinning and letting the aliens fall where they may. If I had one piece of advice for this game it would be to find a way to up the player agency, but thats picking nits for a Compo game. Well done!!

On the Phone (2020) by Linus Lindberg 2020-10-08T11:32:16Z

Interesting piece. I like that it pulls from real news sources.

Secret Agent Thumb in Stuck in a loop by AcsiD 2020-10-07T02:49:54Z

Great job, getting a playable game done in 48 hours, that's no easy thing. I like your character designs. I think this could become a real fun game with a bit more time spent on it.

The Red Twins Assassination by ErikU 2020-10-08T12:14:22Z

I like the idea. The 3D models are impressive for a Compo submission. The tutorial is really nicely put together. The only thing that would have made it more fun is if I had a bit more feedback as to where my daggers would land. I often felt like I clicked on the robots domes but didn't get the kill. Nonetheless, great job.

BOOTLOOP_RECOVERY by Tsunscreen 2020-10-08T07:55:42Z

This is a really great Compo entry. Huge amount of work to get done in that amount of time. I agree with some of the above mentioned mechanical issues, but I think most of those issues could be solved with a day or two of tweaking, balancing and play testing, and I totally understand that a fully animated walking bad guy with spooky red stuff coming out of him, probably cut into tweaking time.

MarblesLoop by Talia 2020-10-07T04:18:55Z

First rate art work!! The mechanic of the game is very creative and feel like there are a lot of neat level design options that could be really interesting, like if each of the obstacles had different solutions depending on how many marbles you had. I'd be very interested to see what this game becomes, if you decide to take it further. Great Job!!

Cyberail by TheZingThing 2020-10-09T03:59:15Z

Very impressive Compo submission. The game is well thought out and the assets all fit together beautifully. The difficulty isn't at all steep so the game is easy to get into. Well done.

Kill the Player by c1tr00z 2020-10-08T07:16:53Z

Very neat idea. I like the 2d characters on a 3d map.

Pumpkalanes by epb9000 2020-10-08T06:59:16Z

Very cute little game. Once I realized that I was supposed to be avoiding the pumpkins I found that it was fun to try to remember the path I took last time.

The Loop by Jin9310 2020-10-09T14:52:48Z

Very cool. Only took me a few seconds to figure out what I was supposed to do and then it was immediately fun. Great Job!!

Blast Core by ConnorThompson 2020-10-09T14:30:30Z

Great game. Well executed. The Audio adds a lot to the experience.

The Jolly Journey of J.J.'s Jelly-Jamventure by TJ101010 2020-10-07T01:10:28Z

Simple mechanics with polished execution. The sounds effects and music work nicely together to create a fun and relaxed mood. The art is fun and cohesive.

Looped by Barney25052 2020-10-09T22:50:14Z

Neat idea. I had fun.

Programmer Nightmare by Cary Stanley 2020-10-11T00:21:53Z

Neat idea. I hope you sort out that sleep issue.

Re-Peter by Abdul Zakkar 2020-10-08T04:01:53Z

This is a great little game. I really enjoyed it. The art styling is very unique and makes the game feel very cohesive. I think there might be a collider problem when stacking the clones. Especially when they jump with a clone on their head it seems like they don't stay stacked the way I expect. Thanks so much for the great entry.

Virtual Chicken Staring Contest by TheLonewolf 2020-10-09T14:57:42Z

This is quite silly. I approve.

Ex Aeternum by John Gabriel 2020-10-08T11:49:22Z

That's an impressive amount of environment modeling for a Compo game. Nicely done.

Endless Night by arkinrev 2020-10-08T07:23:30Z

Is it only on my screen that the heard and purple circle UI take up at least half of the screen. I'm guessing that's not intentional. The bits that I could see on the other half of my screen look great. Realy nice 3d models and a very well put together little world.

d-junglee by A0405u 2020-10-07T00:53:58Z

Thank you for playing my game. I would love to play and rate yours, but I can't seem to get the Mac Version running on Catalina. I'm sure it has to do with Apple's code signing requirements.

Cluck of the Time Egg by Yeomsley 2020-10-09T23:13:04Z

Impressive amount of pixel art for a Compo game.

Space Loop by Fran6 2020-10-07T03:35:44Z

Nice job, getting a game done in 48 hours. Looks like you probably didn't get as much functionality into the game as you would have liked, but that's how Jams go. Thanks for the submission.

The Ice Man Loopeth by Ramble House Games 2020-10-07T03:05:13Z

Thank you all so much for the great feedback: @ondy1985 Thank you so much for playing. The intro is definitely a bummer to watch over and over. You can skip it by pressing [P] during the fly-in, but I don't know if that was made clear in the version you played.

@gingerbill Thank you for the kind words. I'm excited to play your game, but it will have to wait until I can use a friend's Window's machine.

@athryell I'm glad you found it relaxing, that's exactly the mood I wanted to create.

@josephdevelops Thanks, you're the bomb. Thanks for all the help!!

@a0405u I'm glad you liked it. It was a last minute decision to try to get some sort of tutorial in.

@syafire Thank you so much for playing my game on your stream. You're absolutely right that a win condition is the biggest hole in this game.

@victor-hallock Thank you also for streaming my game. Watching you discover and enjoy my game in your calm joyful way is very affirming, and makes me want to make more games.

@queenkrissu Thank you so much for mentioning controls. I can't tell you how much I under estimated the difficulty of running around spheres in an intuitive way. I'm still not happy with it, but it's very nice that the effort was noticed.

[LD47] Falling Asleep by Dark Dungeon Studio 2020-10-11T00:11:20Z

Neat little game. I liked the idea. I wasn't sure what Some of the items were that I was clicking on, but that easily fixed post Jam. Nice work.

Don't Go by ubershmekel 2020-10-08T06:51:15Z

Very cool idea, but I think the challenge with this really handholding the users through the learning experience. If the narrator just flat out told me how to get past the first obstacle and then left me to my own devices for the second one, I think that would go a long way to flattening the learning curve.

Four Walls Of The Boiler Room by spyranteros 2020-10-08T07:41:43Z

I think something might be wrong with the web build. I lost the little arrows that let me look at the other walls. Neat idea for a game.

Four Walls Of The Boiler Room by spyranteros 2020-10-08T08:02:50Z

Yep that did the trick, thanks.

Karmic Circle by TheConfusedCyborg 2020-10-08T07:29:30Z

I like that you can determine your next avatar by how you die. Great Compo entry. With more time spent expanding on this idea, it could become a really unique puzzle game.

Orbital Hostage by Meek Bits 2020-10-08T11:17:43Z

I'll admit, that when I launched this game I immediately thought. "Oh, it's one of these". But actually I really enjoyed this one. The shooting the asteroids while keeping an eye on the ship is just stressful enough to make me feel like I'm good at it. the gravity effect on the asteroids makes it hard to know where the real threats are. The mechanic is simple. The graphics do their job and audio is immersive. Nicely done.

Pollution by Athryell 2020-10-07T01:01:52Z

What a cool use of 2d Physics. I like this game. It's always impressive to see compo games that look like they were finished, rather covered in duct tape and hastily posted at the last minute. I think it's a real skill that you scoped your Compo game correctly and executed the idea well.

while(true) by Noah Kuhn 2020-10-09T23:21:33Z

Very neat idea. As you mentioned in the description there are some things to be done on it still, but I like where it's going.

Blobs by GameFriend 2020-10-08T04:19:54Z

This is a neat game. I enjoyed The music and the level up mechanic. My biggest piece of feedback would be the looseness of the controls on the ring. I found it a little frustrating I think the fun in this game would not suffer from tightening up the controls. Thanks for the great submission.

Loop Runners by schraf 2020-10-09T03:40:05Z

Fun Game. Very simple but well executed.

The Death Loop by droei 2020-10-09T04:31:57Z

Interesting idea. Getting trolled isn't for me, but I suppose there's a market for this kind of humor, so I commend you for finding a niche. I think that the controls could be tightened up, and resetting the level with out going back through the dialogue would be nice, but still a very nice Compo entry.

T.A.P.E. Acquiring Proof Expertly by p-brighenti 2020-10-09T01:22:18Z

Very fun idea. I couldn't figure out the morse code thing. I'm quite confident I got all the letters, but that doesn't seem to be the answer.

The Legend of the Stormer by josephdevelops 2020-10-07T00:43:21Z

Very cool world to run around in. The art is unique and the different atmospheres of the various worlds keep the sense of adventure up with out feeling disconnected. At the end I think I jumped into a vortex which, I hope, means I won.

Mines of Movania by Demure 2020-10-10T06:00:44Z

I really enjoyed this one. Played till the end. I appreciate the choice to make a game in Pico-8, but I enjoyed the gameplay so much that I almost wish there were a more modern version. Great job!

The Bards Tale by CursedSoldier 2020-10-09T23:03:19Z

Wow that's a lot of pixel art for a Compo game. I like where this game is headed. I enjoyed the interactions.

Just In Beaver by ondy1985 2020-10-07T00:31:06Z

Great little game. I can tell that it was nicely scoped for the compo. The art is cohesive and fun.

Newster - A Fantasy Social Media Sim by NamidaSai 2020-10-07T04:04:15Z

Very interesting concept. I like the fantasy world that the newts imply.

Among The Stars by Layne Stokes 2020-10-09T04:06:57Z

Great idea for a game. I like the art and the music is great. Something about the depth feels unfair, I don't know if it's the toon shader or the zeroed out camera angle, but it's really difficult to read the timing for the jumps, but that's a pretty small problem for a compo game. Thanks for the submission.

Loop Roller by Daithi 2020-10-07T03:22:38Z

I think this is a great first entry for LD Compo. It's a simple idea, but that's what game jams are all about. I could see this concept growing into a hypercasual mobile game.

Space Cowboy by a4x8e6 2020-10-09T15:11:31Z

I like a lot about this game. The animals, the atari-esque 2d graphics and audio. I even like the idea of the mechanic, but I found the unpredictability of the loop to be a little uncomfortable. I never really felt like I had enough control of it to get good at throwing it. This could be fixed with some sort of targeting system perhaps.

A not so boring game by clemetayer 2020-10-07T02:41:00Z

Well, it's a game, you made it, and it runs. So, big kudos there.

Visit Caco-chan by mononon 2020-10-07T02:10:45Z

Great Job getting a game done. I think the idea is great. I Couldn't figure out how get the ghost to stand on the button at the same time I was going through the door. Maybe I'm just too small-brain to figure it out. Considering how hard it is to get anything done in 48 hours, I'm impressed that you pulled this much together in 23.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

SlappyBird by JCMonkey 2021-05-02T14:17:46Z

This seems like a rage game at first, but with a little practice you can finesse it. The voice over is hilarious. the 3d work makes for a cool little world, everything looks like it fits. The controls are tight, the difficulty comes with needing to see in multiple directions at once. I don’t know if there’s a design solution to that, and maybe it doesn’t need one, because that’s what makes the game what it is. I really felt like I was getting better as I went along, and the successes are SUPER rewarding. Nice Job!! Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1007852839?t=10h42m27s

I GOTTA SH!T by spyispie120 2021-04-30T07:53:45Z

This game stinks. But it’s also quite fun. The audio in particular is shockingly on point. I definitely takes a precision platformer’s skill to play well, which I don’t have. But the game is scoped nicely, so I was able to finish anyway. Nicely Done!

Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004703239?t=2h19m41s

The Incredible Adventures of Oleg by Nikolay Zapolnov 2021-04-30T07:56:47Z

Super Fun!!! The mechanic is simple enough to quickly get your head around and the level design does a lot with just a few elements. The puzzles weren’t unnecessarily complicated but they were still hard enough to be rewarding when you finish them. Oleg is awesome the hamster animations were perfect, and I couldn’t help boogying down the score. Great Game!!! Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004825468?t=0h7m8s

Boombox by auxC 2021-04-30T07:50:40Z

This game is so polished I can’t believe it’s a jam game. The idea is simple but the execution is simply masterful. The animations are juicy, the art is crisp, the sound is immersive, and not a bug in sight. I am truly amazed.

Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004703239?t=1h35m9s

Fathomless by SilkyPantsDan 2021-05-02T13:18:36Z

HAAAAAAAAAAAARD!!! This game is incredibly well conceived. The interpretation of deeper meaning “Recursively Deeper” is brilliant. The art is stick figures, but some how the stick figures look polished. The music is like nothing I’ve ever heard, and if this game doesn’t make the devs famous, I think they should take their pencils on tour. I truly had a blast.. or an aneurysm, Im not sure which. Thanks so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1005922340?t=1h15m22s

Graverobber by Daniel Alhadeff 2021-04-30T06:46:47Z

This game is great fun. The smear animation on the shovel is VERY satisfying. Audio is great. The pixel art enemies are just gory enough that to keep the tension high. Great Entry!! Thank you for bringing by my stream. Sorry my setup was a little underpowered to get the full experience. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1003360373?t=3h22m23s

The Frozen Deep by Mads 2021-04-30T07:26:57Z

What an amazing mechanic. When I first saw it, I thought it would be like Fez, but it scratches a totally different itch. The art styling and music make for an immersive eerie but fun environment. It got difficult quickly for me, but being a jam game and the play time being understandably short, I think the devs did a good job of creating a nice difficulty curve. Controls are tight, and I didn’t notice any bugs if there were any. Thanks so much for bringing this game by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1005666495?t=0h1m52s

1GEMCLIC.EXE by verysoftwares 2021-04-30T07:48:44Z

Neat little clicker game. I didn’t notice that I could scroll to other drills at first. Once I started loading up my big boy drills with bonuses, it became super satisfying to watch the big bucks roll in. I finally managed to win capitalism, which I always I one day would. Great Art. Game play is fluid and easy to get into. Really great submission. Thanks so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004703239?t=1h13m17s

Go, Little Mole! by maxr00 2021-04-30T06:55:32Z

Amazing work!!! This game is exactly the right scope for a Compo game. The mechanic takes about 3 seconds to understand and it's super fun immediately. The art and level design look well polished the controls are intuitive and rewarding. All around great game. If the developer decides to make more levels, I hope I get to play them.

Mine Zhero by Colisan 2021-04-30T07:32:13Z

The mechanic is totally new to me. It’s little bit mine craft, a little bit spelunky and even a little bit bejewelled, but it comes together to make a great experience. There are a lot of layers to the gameplay made out of a very simple set of items. It took me a while to get my head around the strategy (and I probably have more to learn), but it took no time at all to get into the game. Great Submission. Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1005666495?t=1h28m45s

Freg, Fregg, and Freggy: The Last Band by Honest Dan 2021-04-30T07:37:32Z

This game seems like it took months not days. The card battling system is complex enough that there is room for deep thinking but simple enough to learn on your first play-through. The art is all professional quality. The music is superb and somehow manages to make lizards, frogs, and jazz match. If there were more levels of this game, I would definitely play them all. Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1005666495?t=3h0m35s

Ski Trip by Rhoka 2021-04-30T07:13:21Z

Amazing art style well executed. This game was a little bit heavy on polygons for my computer I think. I wasn’t getting the frame rate I needed to get the full experience, but I enjoyed the amount that I played. The controls are well thought out and really feel like skiing. The rag doll crashes are just the right amount of schadenfreude. The music is also great, amazing that this was achieved in just a few days. Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1003360373?t=5h50m32s

Burilka Pump by abvadabra 2021-05-02T13:22:37Z

This game is right up my ally. I feel like I’ve been waiting for this one. Slow cerebral hex puzzles are my bag baby. The game is overwhelming well thought out. You have to work within tight restrictions but you have enough choices to feel responsible for your score. The art is exactly what it should be for this kind of game. The music is pleasant but stays out of your way while you’re thinking. and the UI is juicy and visually rewarding. Spot On execution. Thanks for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1005922340?t=2h9m32s

Potatoes Adventure by Articka 2021-04-30T08:02:47Z

Fun characters in a game environment that I’ve definitely never seen before. Each level has a different mechanic, and a different challenge. I struggled on the last level, but it is the last level after all.The art is great. The audio is hillarious. Nicely Done!! Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004825468?t=2h43m38s

Ropedive by lootgrounds 2021-04-30T07:59:27Z

Super Fun. This is exactly the kind of game I’m terrible at, but I was able to pick it up and have a great time with it. The mechanic is simple but allows for a lot of variation when combined with the level design. It was hard but not too hard. The art is great. The controls are tight. No Bugs. Wonderful Game. Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004825468?t=1h26m52s

Implosion by Caveman54 2021-05-02T14:02:40Z

Very unique idea. I’ve never seen this mechanic or anything like it. VERY cerebral, get your logic hat on. The art is nice pixely fun. the sound is great, especially nice changes between the layers. The implementation is flawless, and I can’t believe how well considered the puzzle design is. These 14 levels range from unfailable tutorial to real noggin scratcher. Excellent Work!!! Thank you so much for bringing this game by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1007852839?t=6h6m29s

The Icarus by PowerAnze 2021-04-30T07:58:11Z

What an amazing idea for a game. I suspect that a great deal of complicated 3d coding was involved in making this game seem graphically simple. There’s a lot going on and it takes a while to get your head around everything you need to pay attention to, but it’s worth the effort. Some how, with little more than green dots and some parchment this game creates a beautiful and engaging world. Great sound, no bugs. Big thumbs up.

Deep Dungeon Tactics by Aditya Kumar 2021-05-02T13:43:32Z

Very cool tactics / dungeon crawler / rogue like. The art style reminds me of very early Final Fantasy games. The tactics are layered using a manageable number of elements that fit together to create a huge number of options. The music is well selected and the SFX match the art style to give the game a great cohesive feel. This is a very ambitious project for a JAM, Nicely Done!! Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1007852839?t=0h13m30s

Corla by JUSTCAMH 2021-05-02T13:40:16Z

Very neat idea. It’s like they took my favorite dungeon from Zelda 1, reduced it down to its core element and made it endless. The art is simple but has a nice cohesive aesthetic. The music is pleasant and isn’t distracting. The mechanic is a little complicated but the UI makes it very easy to understand, and you’re never left wondering what your options are. Excellent Submission!! Thank you so much for bringing this game by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1006750294?t=6h55m40s

The Deepest Fish by LeYamez 2021-05-02T14:14:19Z

Don’t let the first two levels fool you. This game is designed by sadistic fish monsters. I got the Trawler but gave up before attempting the submarine. The pixel art is great. The game play loop nicely alternates between intensity and recovery, so you have as much time as you want to prepare for the next slice of hell. The music makes the game even more fun. I had great time with this one. Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1007852839?t=9h18m44s

Excavatris Inc. by Neon Glass 2021-04-30T07:55:14Z

A very neat reimagining of tetris. The lasers and bombs don’t add a layer, they interact with the known tetris layers and make for a new type of strategy. the art is nicely done, in good 0l’ tetris fashion. The music matches that style well, but is unique enough not to be a remix of the tetris sound track. Game play is smooth. I didn’t notice any bugs. Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Very well put together “precisiony” platformer. The game is unique in that you have the option to recklessly head for the bottom, but there is an advantage to be had with precision and patience giving you options for play style, which is a lot of depth for a game made in such short time. The art and music make for a cohesive little world that is lovely to spend time in. Every part of this game reveals the amount of consideration that the devs put into it. I laughed out loud more than once playing this game. The paper doll animation alone is enough to make the game fun. The clue mechanic is easy enough to keep the game casual, but demands enough attention to keep the game engaging. The story is bonkers in the best way, and I am looking forward to my next opportunity to call some one a “Wandering Dullard”. Thanks so much for bringing this by my stream. Nice short clean platformer. The controls are surprisingly fun. It’s very bouncy, and the wall jumping is unnecessary, but hilarious. The bosses are just hard enough that you have to pay attention to what you’re doing, but not so hard as to be unreasonable for a game jam play through, nicely scoped. Great Job!! Legend of the Goblin Hoard by Bauke Regnerus 2021-04-30T08:00:46Z

Very immersive. Each of the monsters has a different tactic to defeat. I was unfortunately bad at all of them. The low poly models are awesome. The music was great also. The movement controls were tight, but there’s a lot of spacial accuracy needed to do well in this game, and that was my failing. The first level was just the difficulty and the second was about my limit. Since there are only three levels at this point, that’s probably a pretty good difficulty curve. I had a blast.

Deep Into the Night by Profugo Barbatus 2021-05-02T14:07:35Z

Really neat idea. I think I might be a generation away from understanding VTubers well enough to understand this game completely, but the resource management aspect I can get my head around. It’s great that it introduces new resources one by one so that you can get your head around the mechanic before it gets too intense. The art is truly breathtaking, and I’m flabbergasted that all that content was created in a weekend. Great Job!! Thank you so much for bringing this game by my stream. Cool game. A variety of different puzzles packaged into a neat Hacker Narative. I enjoyed discovering the implied characters as I went along. It was very clear that this game is meant for people smarter than me. Unfortunately, my computer seemed to get slower and slower as I played and eventually I had to stop, but up to that point I had a great time. Thank you for bringing this game by my stream. Super fun. The voice overs and hilarious situations are great. The music fits perfectly. The game is easy to get into and rewarding right from the start. As far as I could tell it was bug free. What a creative idea. Games this unique strike me as very risky, because they often just dont work out the way you imagine them, but this one definitely does. The art is top notch, the music and sound effect are deliciously retro. And above all, the game is just good clean fun. Amazing work!! Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. This is a Really Solid Entry. Simple to understand difficult to master. Flawlessly executed. The art is fun, and reads easily for the game play. The difficulty progression is fair (unless you’re as uncoordinated as I am). All around great game. Thank you for bringing it by my stream. Blackout by Frasse 2021-04-30T07:24:47Z

Holy Cow I can’t believe how much amazing pixel art was packed into such a clean package in such a short time. The story is truly engaging and the game really makes you feel the need to find the next step. It's full of humor and neat experiences. The music is perfect, it suits the mood and somehow matches the pixel art (if that makes sense). It looks like there was maybe more story planned than finished, the amount finished is already an incredible amount. I didn’t want to give those dumb teenagers any feathers anyways. Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1003607184

Sorry, I lost my connection in the middle of playing. Pretty much the whole thing is there though.

Fare Well by alanxoc3 2021-04-30T07:11:31Z

Great little game. The simple mechanics make it super easy to get into, but the randomized level design makes for lots of interesting game play. The controls are tight enough to feel fair, but limiting enough to be challenging. This is a game for people with good twitch reflexes. Thank you for bringing this by the stream. This game is my new official life nemesis. No matter the sacrifice, I will pull that lever and go through that door, and receive what ever is behind it. Mark my words debugqwerty, that money will be mine!! Really challenging level design. This game does an amazing amount with just a few simple elements. The parts work together to create innumerable unique challenges.

Frog by cacciatc 2021-05-02T13:25:27Z

Very neat idea for a mechanic, and very impressive to do it as a NES ROM. I was worried about how tightly I would be able to control the bubble, but once you get used to it, it’s actually pretty intuitive. I had a strange input problem on my Mac, but I was able to finish the game anyway. The art is awesome. The music is Very NES and oh so good, I was groovin’ the whole time. The froggy character could easily be a Nintendo IP. Loved the whole thing!! Thanks so much for bringing this by my stream. Solar Subs by Simpathey 2021-04-30T07:42:21Z

Very cool idea for a game. The mood and ambiance are spot on. The first few levels are very easy, which is necessary for getting your head around the mechanic, which is simple, but takes a few subs to lock in. Once the world goes Dark, the real fun begins. Perfectly executed, no bugs that I could see. Wonderful little game that I will definitely play more.

This is the kind of game my brother and I would have spent months on when we were kids. It’s just good ol’ fashion shoot ‘em up fun. The frogs and Kappas are nicely modeled the animations are juicy. the Purple Squid Boss is everything a Purple Squid Boss should be. I’m very impressed how much sewer there was to run around in. With assets that look this good, I’m not used to seeing this amount of content. Super Cool, Great Job.

Wow that’s a lot to think about all at the time. After playing a few times I was able to keep track of where all the buttons were, but that wasn’t enough to keep my one track mind on top of all the things it needed to be. the art is great. the sound helps the feeling of urgency. The music is Grooovin’. Very nice all around. Sorry I’m not very good at it. Thank you so much from bringing this by my stream. Very cool. I love me a good dungeon crawler. The intro was super fun with the dwarfy voice. The audio is nice and spooky. The game play is easy to get your head around and the three levels are nicely ramped in dificulty. the pixel art style is a great call back to some of my favorite old school dungeon crawlers. Excellent Submission. Thanks so much for bring this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1005922340?t=0h15m59s

[First play through] Very cool idea. the control scheme is more intuitive than I thought from the description. The major issues with this game are obviously due to time constraints rather than poor design. I know the dev is actively working on this one, and I'll definitely be checking back to see where this one goes.

HOOOOOOOOLYYYYYYYYY COOOOOOOWWWWWW!!! I can’t believe this is a Jam Game. It was done in PS1 style, and is more polished and well thought out game than some actual PS1 games. The art it awesome. the SFX are awesome the mechanic is easy to get into and nicely scaled for difficulty (not easy, but not too grindy). The controls are tight once you get used to them. This game is MIND BLOWING!!! Thank you so much for bringing the game by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1007852839?t=4h20m32s

WOW in all categories! Art is amazing. It seems like an entire world invented just for this little game, and the depth of the consideration is visible in every element. The music is so spot on, that I almost believe it was written by a tentacle monster. The core game mechanic is super fun, and the level design is challenging but Very rewarding. Non-stop juice beginning to end.

Descension AI by Chrispy977 2021-05-02T13:29:43Z

Super Cool. That’s a crazy amount of 3D for one weekend. I had a blast. The controls reinforce the feeling of falling, and the movement speed is just right to make you feel like a daredevil but still feel the urgency of dodging the copious pew-pews. It took me a one or two tries to feel like I was good at the game, but after that every death felt fair. Great music, keeps the intensity without being distracting. All in all, great submission. Deep Fall by fire_soldier888 2021-04-30T08:05:23Z

Short but oh so sweet. This game is nicely scoped for a game jam, it is clear that the developer took their time to tweak the details like fall speed and control speed and distance between obstacles, making the very simple gameplay easy to get into and fun to play. Escellent first Ludum Submission!! Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004825468?t=3h40m9s

Trash Squid by Alessandra 2021-04-30T01:21:00Z

Neat Game. A lot of very cool ideas. The water getting more polluted as I failed to collect trash, was a cool effect. The controls are a little clunky but that’s not unusual in a game jam. All in all neat idea. Fun execution.

Surface Level by javi7 2021-05-02T14:05:01Z

The obstacles in this game are the same obstacles I deal with in real life. 1. People tryna talk to me when I’m busy. 2. Shopping carts in my way. 3. and not enough rails to grind on. This game is very nicely put together. Impressive that it runs in pico. The art is on point. The sounds are fun, and the dialogue is hilarious. It’s a short play, but it’s dense with great stuff. Nice work!! Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1007852839?t=7h24m36s

The power of the deep by Tris250 2021-05-02T13:46:34Z

Short but fun!! The idea of weighing your mental health against your physical is a cool idea. The psychedelic level art really emphasizes the decent into MADNESS. Very clever little game about depression. The art assets are well thought out and make for a small, but relatable world. The interactions between the characters are heartfelt and genuine. Where's my dynoMITE? [LD48] by miej 2021-05-02T13:49:50Z

This game has a whilhelm, and should therefor win LD48 without contest. The controls are incredibly frustrating, but for once I believe that it’s intentional. The music is good, but the SFX are hands down the best!! Surprisingly, the learning curve on this game is just right for a short bit of fun. I lost a few times, but never felt unfairly stuck. Highly Successful Research Submarine by James Macgill 2021-05-02T13:53:38Z

Super Fun, and an amazing amount of work for a weekend. The game play loop gives you plenty to do, and provides an enormous amount of game time given the limited amount of content that comes with a game jam. It takes a second to get your head around what you need to be keeping track of, but once you do, the game is easy to play and fun. Great Work!!! Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. 2021: A Space Odyssey by ChrisCo 2021-05-02T13:14:27Z

Holy Space Balls Batman. This game is great. So Much fun. At first it seems like it might be too much of a space simulator (ala kerbal space program) but its not. Its a super fun physics game with a lot of layers. The music selection is flawless. The controls are intentionally washy as a result of the mechanic, but not so much as to be frusterating. I will be playing more of this for sure. Thanks for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1005922340?t=0h36m5s

Rabbit Rappel by MatterLinx 2021-05-02T14:21:58Z

This is one of the most original game mechanic ideas I’ve seen in a long time. Usually experimental mechanics are clunky, but this is SUPER clean. The swinging around feel great. The impact of the gun is very rewarding. The music is perfect for the setting (especially heavy metal spider time). The pixel art is truly exquisite. I need more thumbs to put up for this game. This game is like the maze on the children’s menu but for adults. I really enjoyed it, and I am now officially the world record Labyrinther of Undeads. The art is simple but cohesive, the music matches, its fun to listen to and leaves you to think about the maze. Excellent little maze game. I could see myself wasting hours on this game.

Moth extraction by rhys_vdw 2021-04-30T07:52:25Z

Excellent little mini-game. Very unique interpretation of the theme. The idea of controlling a floppy noodle with a hook on it to remove a moth is a solid concept. I felt as though I was getting better at handling the noodle the more I played, and the moth emerging from the ear is very rewarding (but not as rewarding as jamming into the guys brain.). Nicely Done!

It’s not often that I see procedural generation in a Jam Game, and when I do, it’s almost never this clean. The digging, fighting, and gathering power-ups is all tied into game play that creates endless emergent situations. The controls are tight, the art is wonderful. The sound effects are perfect to bring your into the world, and the music is catchy and groovin’. I had a great time with this one, even though I never killed the big purple cube.
