Really neat game, great job in making it in such a short amount of time. As for criticism, I don't like how much of the screen your sword and shield take, especially when you block, you can't see anything. Enemies should have some kind of turn animation because it feels weird to dodge behind them and for them to just instantly turn and smack you. The volume of sound effects is way higher than the volume of the music, to the point where sound effects are way too loud even after I can't hear the music.
I was quite impressed with this one. The gameplay graphics are polished and cohesive. The mechanics are clean, smooth and responsive. It's pretty hard but I think that's fine for this kind of game. Great work!

Fun game, good mechanics and map design. I especially like the way the first person camera works, very immersive. Very hard though!

Quite an enjoyable little dungeon crawler, simple and sweet. All the movement and combat was quite fluid and nice. A solid very nice from me
This was enjoyable, I like the simplistic art style. A couple of feedback points - I feel that the shield takes up a little bit too much of your view when it's up. It makes it very difficult to tell when an enemy is done attacking. Another thing I noticed is how the camera jumps when you stop walking. Maybe you could lerp the camera position to smooth this out. Well done, I think you have the start of a great RPG

Really well done. The move set is well balanced and nice level design and enemy placement though this gets really brutal ( couldnt get past level 3). Harsh that there s no way to regen to starting health in between levels!

I like the overall simplicity. Great job!
Solid mechanics and works fine on Linux with Wine.

This is a pretty fun game. I did enjoy it very much. The Drums in the background are great! The graphics are really nice and the controls feel quite good espacially the dash! The Tutorial is really clever. (Just a small hint that you can't block ogres could be added) I really like the design of the levels (multiple paths, different enemies). Also the switch between overground and underground is nice. Things I think could be improved: Add some lightning and shadows. The underground parts of the game are too bright for me. The difficulty curve: The game gets hard very quick. I think it could be easier. But yeah. Since this is a one man project this is quite impressive. I hope my feedback is helpful. Have a nice day!
Nice camera and mechanics ! maybe shield and sword take too much space on screen, and a sound when take damage can be cool. But overall, great game !
Nice combat system. pretty solid to play with! The only problem is that camera shakes a little bit too often, making me feel a little dizzy after playing a while. Great work!
Very enjoyable, the graphics were great and it fits the theme very well. It would be especially replay-able with more items, and maybe a limit on how much you can dash? But either way very fun

Very good game! Hard and challenging. It's really hard to know when an enemy is done with an attack when you block, but other than that great!
Great job!

Wow, great work! The simple, low-poly graphics really work and looks really stylish. The music fits perfectly.
The mechanics are simple and understandable and I liked that the ogres mixed up the combat since you need to dodge them to avoid taking damage.
Very, very nice job!

Great game - especially level design and combat. saly I got motion-sick quickly because of simple geometric shapes
Good work! Funny little game!
@hugison Thanks for the feedback. Actually you can block the ogre, but it only reduces the damage taken from 5 to 2.
@snesgaard High five for the Linux squad! XD I just uploaded a native Linux version as well. Thanks for playing.

Hey very nice for a first attempt. Also nice Art Direction, 3D Modelling and animation are on point for a low poly game. ;)
Good game but the Ogre is q little too hard to kill

Dashing feels so right.
Very nice and simple 3d graphics, love the style! Gameplay also feels pretty good, but it's quite hard (at least for me)!
10/10 for music! I also like the art for the models. It does a good job of teaching the player how to get a little better each time.
I love the low-poly flat-shaded graphics style, so I was immediately interested in your game design. The controls were very intuitive and easy to use right away. The combat seemed fair, decent AI, that adds enough challenge to keep me trying, but not too difficult to make me want to rage quit. Overall, I believe you have a good entry into this game jam! good luck. keep me posted on future development too.
I really like this game, but it gets difficult when you progress through the game and you don't have too much HP, or maybe I'm really bad, idk
Great game! The fast paced drums that start up on the second level really puts you in the mood to kill more goblins.
Fun game, for me the graphics were a bit too flat, but otherwise it was great, with only slightly too hard enemies :D

Hey matey, thanks for submitting your game to the stream, I had a lot of fun playing it! I hope the feedback was helpful. Here's the vod if ya wanna rewatch;

Hey there ! I really like this game a lot, It's quite immersive, especially considering you made this in only a couple of games... It just made me want to keep on smashing goblin faces ! If you keep working on this, please do let me know, I want you to follow it up for sure ;)
Low poly environment looks great, the movement is good, animations are good. Combat feels good, all the mechanics work well together. Enemies don't feel too powerful or too weak. Very good work!
I like how the game looks but the combat is kind of awkward. It's nice to have a shield but it's annoying that it blocks your own view. I try to beat the ogers by walking around them or dashing away from them but I keep getting hit. I feel like it would help a lot if the range of the player's attack was bigger.
Very immersive. Each of the monsters has a different tactic to defeat. I was unfortunately bad at all of them. The low poly models are awesome. The music was great also. The movement controls were tight, but there’s a lot of spacial accuracy needed to do well in this game, and that was my failing. The first level was just the difficulty and the second was about my limit. Since there are only three levels at this point, that’s probably a pretty good difficulty curve. I had a blast.
Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004825468?t=2h43m38s

Very polished experience I love it !
Bauk you've made me want to make this type of game myself after playing yours. You've done a great job, especially being your first FPS experience. The sword and shield feel good, and with a little few bits of polish and work it'd be a real solid RPG first person controller. I like your art style too - it works really well.
Thanks for bringing your game by my stream for playtesting! If you’d like to revisit the play and commentary you can view the highlight at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1006134379
The room with two ogres and all those archers is just unfair ;)
Combat felt alright in general, but attacks were somewhat too slow (both on the player and the enemies). The shield definitely block too much of the screen and wider fov would be nice. The use of dash felt limited in later areas where it was easy to fall down to your death. I actually managed to trick one knight into doing just that, and he died bravely in lava. But earlier one knight attacked me through a wall, so I was not sorry :D

I enjoyed the audio track and would love some cool sfx.

Really wish I could parry the ogres haha Thanks for submitting it! -PomoTheDog
Finished (I consider the last hit as not happened :D) on the [stream](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1007202934?t=01h46m12s). Amazing result for Ludum Dare! Everything is amazing - all you need for the full game is more quantity, more levels / abilities / plot and you can sell it already :D Great result!

Cool game I really like the low poly models and you did really well communicating attacks from enemies (both visually and audibly) and I think that's something a lot of games struggled with. I appreciate the enemy variation too and the level design!
I think the combat was the one part that could use more work to make it more engaging. Here some suggestions if you plan on working on this more: -Shield take up too much screen (i know a few others mentioned) -More character progression besides health upgrade. maybe a couple different abilities to unlock that allows the player mix up gameplay on their own terms (being able to dash multiple times and store charges would be cool) -more varied enemy AI. the enemies all feel unique and require different strategies, but it seems like they all use the same AI, but with different values for attack range, attack speed maybe, and when to move closer to the player. The way they stop completely makes the fights feel a little static
I liked the flat shaded low polys and the only problem I had there was parts where two planes are shaded the same color and there's no way to tell there's stairs, or a ramp without viewing at a different angle. Ambient occlusion or some subtle textures could help a lot there legendofgoblinhorde2.png
I think I got bugged out when I killed the last enemy and fell in the lava. It looked like it killed me (had the particle affect when you die) for a split second, but then I got the 5 health upgrade from finishing the level and then I was stuck in the lava with 5 health XD legendofgoblinhorde.png
This is a really good start I hope you keep working on it! The foundation is really solid and you accomplished a LOT for the jam.
