Nice Game. The UI looks great! The graphics and audio are great, too.

Just some minor things I would improve: - Different colors for enemy health bars and/or shorter health bars. It gets a bit confusing later on. - Balance. For me it feels like the shredder is just superior to the other towers. And the game felt a too easy in total. combined with the length of the game i lost interest after the first 10 levels.

After all a great game! Well done!

Farm and Mine by general 2021-04-30T10:57:09Z

So. Played for some time now and even used the cheat to see if I was missing something. First the good things:

- graphics are nice and fit very well together - animation is really good. - the basics mechanics with the farm work pretty good and are fun

Some feedback for improvement:

- the Coin counter at the top could be a bit larger - the kitchen does not seem to do very much besides the animation, which is wierd. - the scaling of the seller is too slow to keep up with vegetables (Maybe add a second market stand or some other possibilities to process the food and sell these products on another market stand). - I found no way to do something with the coal and the iron So right now there is not much benefit from mining. - There is no logical connection in the game between the farming and the mining. There shoud be a reason why a farmer should go mining now (perhaps that you need coal to cook vegetables or something like that)

So in summary the only part of the game that feels finished for me is the farming and selling the vegetables. The kitchen and the mines don't earn me money. So i wonder why they are in the game. For this jam I would have liked to see more focus on the mining and that to be the main gameplay. Just an idea of me to tie the elements together would be: Farm and sell vegetables for the beginning, produce food in the kitchen for the miners, mine ore to sell it, expand from here (process ores etc.)

After all it was fun but I think that some improvements I mentioned would make it so much better. I hope my honest feedback does help. Have a nice day!

Safe Cave by Papaver 2021-05-01T22:37:51Z

I liked it a lot. Not much negative to say. The core gameplay is fun and works very well. Sound is nice and fits. The difficulty is good and it has a decent length. Only thing that bothers me a bit: It seems like you can use the cows somehow to your advantage but I didn't figure out how and also did not really need it. Although the cows are really funny it would surely be great do get more out of them somehow.

Well done and a lot of fun!

Craftmine by Cal 2021-04-28T22:38:42Z

I espacially love the animations of the game. Really well done. The pixel art is solid. Gameplay is also fun for some time, but after I had every uprade I dug straight down for some time and was a bit sad that there seemed to be no goal. So a difficulty curve like stronger slimes or variation in behaviour or a goal after some time would improve the game a lot in my opinion. A display of the depth you reached would also enhance the player motivation. Another thing I find odd is that you can attack slimes through walls what makes the game kind of easy when you build a tactic around it. Also the attack ranges (player and slimes) were not really clear. a bit more feedback would help a lot (perhaps an attack animation for the slimes with a bit delay and a range indicator for the player (like a small circle of light or something like that)). Sound is solid. And it produces kind of a nice rythm while mining. But after some time It gets a bit annoying. Totally fine for the length of the game though. Just one minor thing I noticed. The jump is kind of floaty and the fall down animation looks a bit wierd because the miners feet are shaking.

All that said: I enjoyed the game and think this is a solid entry. Hope the feedback helps

Dumb Ways To Dive by Jonas Michael 2021-05-05T23:52:29Z

So this was fun! The audio is really nice and the gameplay, too. Graphics look pleasing.

Some things that bothered me a bit: - It is hard to follow the dialogue during the gameplay - Controls could be a bit more responsive (sometimes when i dash to one side to collect oxygen I just can get one of the three.) - I could be wrong but it seemed like the hitbox of the enemies did not always match the sprite.

What I liked the most: - The music fits really good with the game and sets the right mood. Bonus points for music change! - The lighting works really good! - Funny jokes

Good job! Thanks for sharing!

Dark Souls Tactics by antvelm 2021-05-01T10:25:26Z

The atmosphere of this game is really great! Audio and graphics work very well together. The attack animations are also great! I think some enemy movement would enhance the tactics aspect a bit more. Also some enemies could not be attacked. But thats just a minor bug. Very nice. I had fun and think i expored everything there is.

Lie or Die by Nobleboy 2021-05-01T10:56:19Z

You created a very good mood here for the presented Situation! The graphics are nice and the audio is really good (especially the squeak sound of the ball!) The gameplay mechanic is really interesting and the idea is a lot of fun. But for me it felt like I had to fail some arttempts at first just to read all the possible answers so that I can actually play the game. So if you are playing first time and have to flip through the answers first and loose because of it, it feels a bit unfair. Also some questions seems to be a bit random, like being asked about somebody in a picture without a picture.

So after all this is a really great and unique game that just needs a little bit more polishing. Hope the feedback helps. Cheers.

Dungeon Escape by Crazybot 2021-04-29T11:43:10Z

Wow this is actually the best game I played so far in this jam. Great work!

+ Nice detail in the rooms of the dungeons + The Levels have a good size and scale in size pretty good + Overall the difficulty curve is just right for me + The introduction of new traps further down keeps me going. otherwise this game would be quite boring after some time. + rats are annoying (They should be in my opinion xD) + the click before tha axe trap is a great indicator. The axe was also my favorite trap because of this. It felt really good to figure out this trap after 2 times and by the third door: "haha! Not this time, axe!" + Nice atmosphere with the background sound / trap sounds / screen shake / lighting

- The player speed felt a bit too fast for me. Sometimes I would liked to go slower so I don't run into a trap by accident. Perhaps include a button to toggle walk/run. - The potions are a bit misleading. I tried to take a red potion to refill health but that did not work of course. Maybe some rare item to refill health a bit would benefit the game to create a moment of relief when you are nearly dead and find a refill. -The Sound of the sawblades were a bit wierd when in another room somtimes. Like on off on off on off. Don't know how do describe it better.

So the negative feedback really does not weigh that much. This is a great game. I enjoyed it a lot and hope my feedback helps.

Got to level 12 and might try to beat this some time.

Legend of the Goblin Hoard by Bauke Regnerus 2021-04-27T08:32:23Z

This is a pretty fun game. I did enjoy it very much. The Drums in the background are great! The graphics are really nice and the controls feel quite good espacially the dash! The Tutorial is really clever. (Just a small hint that you can't block ogres could be added) I really like the design of the levels (multiple paths, different enemies). Also the switch between overground and underground is nice. Things I think could be improved: Add some lightning and shadows. The underground parts of the game are too bright for me. The difficulty curve: The game gets hard very quick. I think it could be easier. But yeah. Since this is a one man project this is quite impressive. I hope my feedback is helpful. Have a nice day!

Cursed Cave by Bender Biber 2021-04-27T13:36:19Z

Okay first of all what I like about this game: The graphics are nice (I love the character Model) and the mood is just right. Audio also fits very good. The gameplay is not that enjoyable for me. The Attack seems a bit unresponsve and the attack animation of the caracter is not as good as those of the enemies. Since the input seems to be blocked when i got hit by an enemy I was often in situations where I just had some enemies around me and could do not much but be hacked in pieces. In other situations I just stood in front of some enemys spamming attack and hoped to get them down before I die. So how I would improve this? Spice up the attack animation of the caracter and make clearer what was hit and where. Get rid of the input lock or reduce it. Also some more feedback (visual and audo) that you got hit would help a lot to learn the game. Although that was a lot of critique here, there are some really nice aspects of the game and I hope the feedback is helpful.

Cursed Cave by Bender Biber 2021-04-27T14:11:27Z

@bender-biber

I know that feeling. But the things you learn is what makes game jams so good. Had the same struggles. Tried something I did not do before, which took longer than I thought so some things juast fall short at the end.

Dive Deep by Dynamix 2021-04-27T10:19:21Z

This was a fun little experience! The effect of everything getting darker as you go down is very nice. Love it. As pointed out earlier the game could have been a bit harder, but I played it in one go to the end and really had fun this way. Perfect for a jam in my Opinion. The graphics are really nice (especially the ligth and darkness effects) and the movement is also solid. On thing that would improve the game a lot would be a little animation for the sharks and the diver. Espacially the static sharks stand out. Everything else is fine. But I know that we all run out of time. Hope my feedback helps!

The Dwarven Brigade by Wolfier 2021-04-30T10:36:29Z

So I dont really know about this game. There is a lot i love about it but there are some things that don`t seem to work or confuse me.

+ The concept is great! I love the idea of a lot of dwarfs just run around the mine and collect resources to upgrade. + The animations and the graphics are great and look good. Seems like you got a lot out of the low resolution with your art. Very Nice (+ Music is very nice)

- I don't get how the pilons and pathfinding work. My dwarfs seem to run where they want anyways. The green mining pilons do seem to work because the dwarfs only mine there. Another example for this was: later in the game when in needed more dwarfs deeper i recruited a lot more and most of them just run into the first mineshaft (although there are already enough dwarfs mining the gold) and back to the surface. So it seems I had to wait until some dwarfs acidentially find the way down. So there should be more feedback or more explanation ingame to that and maybe some polishing of the pathfinding. - As a result it takes too much time to get the dwarfs to clear out certain passages. - I don't know what benefits the upgrade of the "main building" on the surface gets me. - The tooltips are often rendered behind the buttons so i can't read all of it.

So don't get me wrong. I really dig the concept (pun intended) and would love to play a more polished version. I hope my feedback helps.

The Dwarven Brigade by Wolfier 2021-04-30T21:00:57Z

@wolfier

Thanks for clarifying. I will definitely give it another try.

And yes. Some more in game tutorial would be nice. As difficult as it is to do without just a wall of text for such a complex mechanic. As far as I understand the mechanic now this is really interesting and I am curious, what you can achieve with it in the future.

Stranger Fish by Millhow 2021-05-07T10:34:10Z

The game looks really nice. The fish look really good as the shark submarine. Music fits very well and creates a good mood. The darkening in stage 5 is also really nice and the light of the submarine.

Had the same issue with the controls. But that already was reported, so lets go onto some things with the gameply that I would improve:

Most of the gameplay for me felt like luck. I just swam around and waited for the fish to spawn. So there was no real challenge for me. I think it would be better to add a bit of vhallenge or player involvement like a sonar wich was mentioned earlier. Also I thought that the area was pretty empty. If there was a fish it was the fish that I needed to collect. So having more dofferent kind of fish swim around would be more interesting and also would add a bit of challenge to find the correct fish.

Well done and I hope my feedback helps. Cheers

Dig Deeper by Donamougou 2021-04-27T13:11:41Z

Took me a bit to understand the game but when I dit it was actually really fun. Perhaps add a tutorial and a hint that you have to go right to get to the mine where you can dig. The sprites are ok but sadly inconsitent in resolution. The indestructable blocks in the mines are a great addition and also increase the difficulty a bit after further down. Forced me to think more about what blocks i mine so i can reach the gold. That was really nice. The Upgrades are nice and good paced in my opinion. But still the gameplay gets repetitive after some time. One thing I would change is the constant clicking. Thats annoying. Perhaps let the player hold the mouse button to mine. I hope my feedback helps. Cheers.

Spaception by HardScore 2021-04-28T21:25:20Z

Best thing about this game is defenitley the humor. The graphics are also quite good. The random build characters work really good, but they don't fit the names very good sometime. Which also is part of the good humor I think. As for the gameplay: I think the speed of the player is just right for this kind of game. Even though there is not much involvement of the player besides running around and talking to people it is quite fun for the time of the game. So I think the length is also just right. I even played another round after I managed to save the ship. So all together a fun experience. Now to some issues I had with the game: The first round the ship blew up but I don't really now why. I thought it must have been the time. Although I just spoke to 4 to 5 people I think and thought i was pretty fast. Going straight to the quest marks. So the next round I just clicked the dialogue away and just followed the arrows and klicked what was there. This worked. I saved the ship and got a glimpse of my bright future out of the air lock. Since that actually took me longer than the first try I tried again to figure out why I lost the first round. This time I really took more time and read the dialogue. It was hard to keep track of what to find for who because there was actually often both talking and finding quests from one person. So I just followed the arrows again anyways. Long story short: I think it would improve the game a bit to give some more feedback on how to loose / why you loose. Also I think I would also get rid of the arrows at least for finding objects to make the player actually search for it and get him a bit more involved. Then just a minor graphics bug: Some NPC walked in front of a container in one of the right rooms but the sprite was rendered behind the container. To the audio: this is solid and nothing to complain about.

After all a short and fun game. Well done!

Super Jackhammer by tomn114 2021-05-01T11:26:13Z

I actually liked this a lot. Was fun to play and a great idea. The graphics do need some polishing but I understand the lack of time. Was my problem as well. So the core gameplay is nice and fun but could need some adjusting in my opinion. So I think the Jackhammer is getting too fast too fast. I think it would improve gameplay to reduce max speed and acceleration a bit.

Super Jackhammer by tomn114 2021-05-02T08:44:48Z

@tomn114

Yeah better to focus on code and not on the graphiocs espacially when you just have one day like you said. Nice art alone does not make a game fun.

Whatever It takes by BurnerReborn 2021-04-27T19:59:50Z

This is a very nice game with an interesting concept! It is really confusing first but then ista quite fun. Perhaps it would be a better experience to introduce the mechanic slower. The graphics are really nice as well as the animation. The sound is fitting, with the exception that the jump sound seems to be a bit too late. One of the best games I played so far.

Beat-Dive by ShotgunSamurai_ 2021-04-27T08:50:15Z

Really nice idea. Loved it. The Music is really good (Has to be for this kind of game) but at some parts of the song the beat does not come through very good. I felt that the wallslide is nice but not really necessary for this game. And I keep thinking if it is good that relevant beat is just the one. It makes the game a bit easier but sometimes I felt like i wanted to smash on the beats in between. I hope you get what I mean. So yeah really good job and I hope my feedback helps.

Dwarf Mine by Kmoor 2021-04-27T07:50:33Z

This is a nice game. The intro is well done and a nice extra. I like that you can play around with the controls already in the main menu. The graphics look good and most of the sound is really good. So here is what I don't like: The sound of the birds are really annoying xD (I think they are played just too fast). The Game feels a bit unfair sometimes for mostly these reasons in combination: it is very dark and hard to see enemies, some enemys can go through the floor, some can't be seen because off screen (spiders) and fall down really fast, you sometimes can't see whats above you when jumping, so the cieling ruined my jump sometimes. I would recommend playing around with this a bit because the dark/light mechanic on it's own is really nice. Some checkpoints a bit earlier would be nice and i think that would've made me play a bit loger. All in all a well made game just needs more polish (but which game in a Jam does not? (including mine)). I hope my feedback is helpful. Have a nice day!

Into the Mines by Hugison 2021-04-27T09:30:32Z

@metalfox-dioxymore

Thanks for the feedback! And IO am sorry that you got stuck. I noticed that it is hard to predict the cart behaviour sometimes. The idea with this cart is that you have to slow down and drive behind it until it eventually falls into a pit and you can get past it. And if the dynamite cart gets stuck this is really basd. I have to look more into that. thanks for pointing it out!

Into the Mines by Hugison 2021-04-27T09:33:51Z

@dynamix

Thanks for the detailed feedback! Very much appreciated. I am totally with you with the background and the font. That was all due to lack of time and it does annoy me a lot. Since this is my first physics based game It took so much longer to get everything to work that I had just like one hour for polish in the end. Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Into the Mines by Hugison 2021-04-27T13:22:30Z

@joelchrono12 @nablaz @niall-chandler

Thanks for playing and commenting. Very much appreciated!

Into the Mines by Hugison 2021-05-02T08:40:16Z

@wolfier Thanks for playing and commenting. Espacially thanks for the suggestions. I will have to play around with the level design a bit more. I also felt that the speed passages could get more focus when playing. But I do also like the slow passages where you have to be careful not to run into the dynamite or to get stuck. If I had more time it probably would be better to do more levels and focus on different things in different levels. Well thanks for the feedback. Helps a lot!

@tomn114 Thank you so much for the kind words. I am glad you enjoyed it! Interesting that you find it very polished since I felt like I had no time to polish anything apart from the physics. It's nice that you also enjoyed the audio and art.

Into the Mines by Hugison 2021-05-16T22:08:34Z

Thank you very much for playing and sharing your experience with a video. That helps me out a lot!
