Cool game !

The beam mechanic is a smart idea ! I would maybe explore the idea of not having any jump (neither from the ground nor the roof) and having to use the beam for any kind of jump. That would make the level design harder, tho.

Really Fun. I loved how the alien beam takes changes this from being just another platformer to something new. It adds a really fun and often challenging element. Great Job! :D

Great game! Music is thematic and gameplay is very enjoyable :) Will definitely come back to beat this time, but for now this is my best.

Quick and fun game with a good level design! It's good that the beam gets wider as you get down which makes it harder to juggle it back and forth and forces you to use the terrain more to your advantage. I only wish the cows had more of a use in platforming since they were so cute.

Absolutely brilliant! There are a bunch of VVVVVVV-likes, but not only did you tie it to "lore" really well, but you took it in your own direction as well.

The biggest difference is that you don't control when gravity changes directly, your positioning and timing does. This created really unique scenarios when it came to stuff like speedrunning, where you would purposely do some weird routing to make sure the beam was in the right spot at the right time to do some optimal jumps. I liked that there were multiple paths as well, so you could be -relatively- creative in your approach to things, depending on your skillset.

The constant up and down switches were very cool since the level design was spot on. I found myself quickly and constantly scanning both the floor and ceiling for opportunities to progress. Also, the distance from you to the UFO also affects the beam, and thus the platforming and level design. Very interesting stuff!

The music using the beam AS part of it was so good. Everything about this design is so tight.

My last comment is on the game concept itself. Your concept was straight to the point and I got the twist immediately. The idea of using ceilings to avoid getting sucked up was very smart and a great way to pull in the player. Fantastic job~

Really cool concept, amazing animations, good level design to exploit the mechanic as much as possible. The music and sounds fit the vibe pretty well.

This is a really cool concept by not being able to manipulate gravity directly. This makes for interesting choices to make: do I pull the ufo to the other side first to go low on the ground or risk being sucked up to get to the other side faster? The level design helps really well to give these kind of choices, really nice job!

My time was 314 seconds with 5 deaths, hope that that is nice for a first clear :D

This game is just perfect! The level design is so well balanced for being a speedrun game. Every time I play this game (about 10 times until I got afraid my CPU would overheat ;) ) I was excited to see if I could break my record. It was a bummer when you missed that one platform and now you cannot do a fast drop down. It's fun to think of new strategies and after 10 times I still feel like mine is far from optimized.

Also nice graphics and music. Very funny wordplay with 'level down'.

Oh yeah, this mechanic is gnarly! I would love to play way more levels of this game :)

I liked it a lot. Not much negative to say. The core gameplay is fun and works very well. Sound is nice and fits. The difficulty is good and it has a decent length. Only thing that bothers me a bit: It seems like you can use the cows somehow to your advantage but I didn't figure out how and also did not really need it. Although the cows are really funny it would surely be great do get more out of them somehow.

thought i done pretty good until i seen everyone elses times XD fun game though... not much to critique. you could make an interesting platformer game out of this if you made some extra hazards for the player and some tilesets for different subterranean regions. after that stick that bouncy boy on itch dsaadas.png

Maybe it could just keep going left and right, instead of following the player. Or maybe you could even control the beam. :thinking: So many possibilities! :smile:

This was fun small game! Cows are super cute :heart_eyes: I really liked this UFO ray mechanic. It would be nice addition to be able to throw some objects to the UFO to temporarily block the ray.

Bit of a challenging game. Can't get much further than the 1st flag. The alien ship comes down too fast, and that sucking beam is too hard to escape. But, it motivates you to continue playing and get better. Therefore, a good engaging game, that can keep you busy for hours! Music and sound effects are good. Graphics also well done, especially the alien ship and tractor beam. And I love the cow with the bell. Great job!

Played to the end! Great little concept, could be difficult at times! The flags are a good idea, the sound is a bit repetitive and can get frustrating. The movement also feels a bit spongey but great mechanic! Good job!

I confirmed on another game the next day that my computer just isn't fond of any falling physics, but this is a really good mechanic and story idea. Though thinking about it more now (when not running to save my own hide), I want some way to rescue the cows.
