LD44 — Your life is currency

Cold Dream by reheated 2019-05-08T10:42:50Z

As I saw the looping effects I was worried the game might just crash, but I couldn't resist. Really nice game. Got limitless first in turn 4, then realisied I could go all in on all the stats in turn 5. Again, was a lot of fun :) [edit]: actually, it was so much fun I just have to rate everything with 5 Stars. It's a concise little experience I just didn't expect

Catiro by Riftpoint Entertainment 2019-05-07T16:53:20Z

Hm, the jump from the tutorial rythm to the fast paced rythm of the "real" game is quit jarring to me. I think it would be better, if the tutorial would really train you for the games actual speed. Maybe slowly speeding up, everytime you manages to defeat the master, then releasing you once you are ready for the first few enemys. Besides that, it is a really nice small thing you did

Who Wants to Be a Vampire's Heir? by andrewjoy 2019-05-08T15:26:23Z

@yoanndeplo I think the visual artifact is a see through drinking straw. But yes it looks weird.

As for the game, it was hilarious in all the good ways.

Heartaker by lukbebalduke 2019-05-02T21:00:58Z

That were short 20 minutes. Really good core gameplay. I sincerly hope, you will expand on what you now have

Summoner's Siege by TwinGhosts 2019-05-08T12:01:03Z

Encountered another nasty bug. If you spawn a knight it is under the control of the enemy

King's Alchemist by Vlad Dae 2019-05-07T12:46:38Z

Really nice concept, although not really theme appropriat. I really could imagine an approach, where you have a desk, which lets you have multiple different books open at the same time. Each with different potion recipes inside, so you do not have to memorize all potions at all time, but must know in which book you will find each specific one to be effective.

My Life is Cactus by Aqshay 2019-05-08T10:08:44Z

Yep. That were fun 30 min, although if my graphics card wouldn't have crashed (it does that sadly fairly often), I could have just let it run in the background for an eternity, because the cacti are invincible and therfor perfect wall components.

Soul Checkout by Pepijn 2019-05-04T12:06:08Z

Managed to get until wave 60 or so, made 237 kills. It was glorious. Really nice concept.

Get Me My Drones! by floxy 2019-05-02T20:16:26Z

@solah wasd for movement and pressing(not holding) "space" for firing the black pixels, pardon drones. Unfortunatly that knowledge wouldn't help you much, cause it is not possible to win due to a bug (actually I dont think I know how the end screen looks either). Background was done by @floxy, the enemys by myself.

Get Me My Drones! by floxy 2019-05-02T20:28:56Z

@digitaldude555 Yeah, found the reload bug right after submission hour. Although the backgrounds speed is really high, it was an attempt at getting something like Rym9000 did in their demo, which doesn't seems to be on the net anymore. But thanks to you non the less for your suggestion, bug report and impression. Next time we will definitly focus on the core gamplay and then go from there.

Get Me My Drones! by floxy 2019-05-04T12:36:52Z

@redz0ner Yeah, the game was jumbled together from the individual parts we made in the last few hours, so it became a mess. We will probably fix what there is in the future, but if we do smth with it, then we'll build from the ground up.

@shubart true. The positional bug is fixed in the postLD version, so at least that is now working (rocket stuff isn't right now, hadn't the time to do it yet). But I think the ld44 version should remain as it is, standing as a reminder to focus on the actual gamplay first (and why, you should add nodes to the tree, before trying to set their global_position, in the Godot Engine) Thanks for your comment

LD45 — Start with nothing

The Persistent Thief by Darylsteak 2019-10-09T21:05:30Z

What an awesome little game. Very much appreciate the minimalisim in graphic and level design. The ambient audio is just spot on. The Controls on the other hand are really fiddly. Nonetheless, definitly one of my favorit jam games so far.

GRIMOIRE by Eryph 2019-10-09T16:15:52Z

Really nice idea for the theme. I think it would be cool if one could choose the key a spell is bind to and to autocast spells if a given key is pressed, this of course would change the game a fair bit and might not reflect your intentions.

Btw. my score is 6458

Barren by Whiteseraph 2019-10-12T11:07:26Z

Nice idea, could be interesting. A bit easy and therefor doesn't really stand out as a puzzle game. But hey, you did a thing :D

LD46 — Keep it alive

Keep the King Alive by Noxalus 2020-04-22T19:48:43Z

Found a bug. Once you selected a soldier from the build menu, its placement blueprint is already active so to speak. It can be targeted by enemys and can attack back. Which let to the unusual tactic of the mouse laser :)

So my 11:59 run is not really legit, but I post a picture anyway: keepTheKingAlive_cropped.png

Baby, please don't break my hearts by Stadoblech 2020-04-22T12:56:39Z

Really nice short and precise game. Audio is superb, look is really nice, feels good :)

Soul Blazer by Lukas TAMAYO 2020-04-22T13:29:13Z

Hm I dont know what to make of it. The Concept definitely has potential, but in its current state it is just not that fun. The bugs are just too distracting: - fire not always propagating to other fingers, although there is still flesh on them - fire not illuminatiog the surroundings - camera scaling problem at the pentagram, so it is inverted at first and then wont zoom out enough to see anything

Soul Blazer by Lukas TAMAYO 2020-04-22T14:49:33Z

@lukas-tamayo you don't have to be sorry for the bugs xD You three only had 76 hours. In that time bugs are expected. But it's sad, the bugs I encountered in your game made it unbeatable at the end :/ I hope you had fun making the game and fun in general participating. We sure did :D

Taberu Bakemono by hiro.e 2020-04-29T10:20:01Z

Interesting game. Might have potential for a larger project, if it gets a lot more polish :)

Tamagojamy by Akronsus 2020-04-25T14:18:55Z

@nathalia-hohl in godot you can activate the transparency effect inside the "project settings" under "display"->"window"->"per pixel transparency" and then just check "Allowed" and "Enabled". Now you only have to make the background of your scene transparent with get_tree().get_root().set_transparent_background(true) (you can also do that in a global skript)

@redhermit Thanks for your kind words :D Though I do get, why some people don't want to figure out what some of the symbols mean and how to play exactly, I also think, that in this particular case, the experimentation-part of the game is essential for the experience :)

Tamagojamy by Akronsus 2020-04-30T10:44:21Z

@matootsy The missing restart functionality was indeed an oversight. Wasn't even on the design sheet. The left- and rightside buttons on the bottom don't do anything in this version unfortunately. The idea was, to have multiple stations in a room and you could select them with these buttons. You can also play with arrow-keys and spacebar

@gagapete Nice to read, the android version worked for you. WarioWare-esque minigames were originaly planned, but due to the tight schedule, it was not possible. The money has no use in the jam version. Maybe you've seen the computer and the closed online store. There you would have been able to by the necessities of life :)

Happy Life by scalliondelight 2020-05-07T10:24:30Z

really nice game. Haven't finished it, 'cause I'm just too slow. But I'll try again in the future, it's that great :D

Hedgehog Survival by Vaanrile 2020-04-22T12:39:35Z

Nice little game. Audio is nice, hedgehogs are nice, but gameplay is too much on the simple side for me. Btw thats how the street could look like after 11 minutes: HedgehogSurvival_2_cropped.png Although I let the hedgehogs crawl onto it. Maybe limiting the pickup distance could make situations like this possible in real gameplay :)

Don't Kill My Electronic Pet While I'm Away. by Camzen 2020-04-23T12:25:34Z

The hitboxes felt a bit off. Especially because of the shadows of the "virtual pets". The art suggests an angled view, so it is quite irratating, that they collide once their shapes overlap. The art itself is really cute though :)

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

DD-7 - Underwater Exploration by James Gillespie 2021-04-28T13:17:26Z

The whale got me xD nice game, a bit short, but nice :)

Safe Cave by Papaver 2021-04-29T10:32:02Z

Wow! Really cool idea and an awesome spin on antigravity mechanics. Definitely has potential for the future, if you are willing on working on this further.

Fathomless by SilkyPantsDan 2021-04-28T13:46:42Z

Really awesome idea, though after 20 min of failing I have to give up xD Maybe the players hitbox feels sometimes a bit unfair and the sideways moving platforms feel really counterintuitive, but maybe that's by design?

Logistics Boy by Dis0rder 2021-04-28T13:07:01Z

really liked this trip down memory lane :)

(btw. fingers are not visible 'till the end in the web version)

🔥 Magma Eater 🔥 by landosilva 2021-04-28T19:29:56Z

Really nice puzzler. Sad, I don't have the situational awareness to beat level 3 xD

It would be really nice, if the head of the Eater would also change on the player itself, instead of only on the ui :)

A Cat in the Aliens' Lair by Sheinxy 2021-04-28T20:10:28Z

Thanks for saving the world from this alien invasion ;)

Callous by MateusBoga 2021-04-29T11:17:11Z

Was super lost at first and didn't know what to do. Manly because I haven't seen the gate at the beginning and because a skull and flower totem spawned right above each other leading me to believe that the flowers are not special xD

Finished with 14 stones

Get Rich or Dive Trying by Human Writes Code 2021-04-28T20:41:22Z

Ahoy captain! It was an honor to sail on such a nice pixelated ship :D

Below the Ocean by Ismael Rodriguez 2021-04-27T20:48:54Z

Wow that is my 7th game I am rating this jam, and it seems I already struck gold. This game has really nice Celest vibes (which was a pico-8 gamejam game befor). I am really impressed by the polish of this little gem :) keep it up and maybe take this further!

To the Core by Eric Smith 2021-04-27T20:04:50Z

Neat game. One could win with more time on the clock, but here is my highscore:

ToTheCore.png

To the Core by Eric Smith 2021-04-27T20:56:03Z

@eric-smith yeah, the first time i tried ~10 blocks befor the finish line I ran out of energy. Second try I drilled straight down, mining crystals left and right but always returning to my path, then I just drove upwards again xD

Molehills by voidfishing 2021-04-28T20:48:50Z

Well its really short, but the graphics are really nice and the moles are so cute!

Singularity Dive by JmO14 2021-04-29T08:39:12Z

Liked the game! Graphics are nice and ship movement is smooth, though there were a few problems:

After a score of roughly 12000 the music stops playing (which doesn't feel intentional so I a assume it's a bug).

As other commenters said, it is at times kind of hard guessing the distance of obstacles, manly because one doesn't have a reference frame for scale. Maybe that could be avoided with coloring the objects in a different color when collideable, or maybe add some warning markers over the objects, like it where the ships warning systems for a collision, or smth.

Oh and the finish screen, doesn't completely cover the gameview. There is one pixel column missing left and right (good to see at the edges of the accretion disc of the black hole)
