Great entry! Really polished, adorable art style... And gameplay that gets quite hectic when blocks start falling when you don't expect them to! Nicely done!

luis-antonio 2021-04-27 01:12

That's a pretty fun game! Loved the graphics, the score is simple but effcient and it's very addictive... The controls seems good too, but sometimes i feel the stones disapear too fast. I died some times without knowing what happend well. Despite that little problem, it's a good game. Congrats ^~^

My dreams have come true, finally some tasty magma. Thank you! Amazing game <3

flaterectomy 2021-04-27 14:49

Excellent art and a fun mechanic! I will say once or twice that I died without knowing *why* I died. Maybe time ran out, but without an audio cue I didn't notice, or I got crushed? I think audio cues or further visual feedback is a place where you can improve.

But all in all a fun and very polished entry!

Good intro text, very clear to understand purpose and meaning of things. the sprites for the bad states were a little less clear than they could have been.

Music is very loud.

Fun game though, i thought the animations were great, the sprite effects were cool. Maybe some more SFX might be nice and a bit more vairety on the block types. Also wasn't sure when blocks would fall, maybe another prompt?

@theblondebass Thank you! :smile: Yeah, when you got a lot of combos things go a bit wild. :sweat_smile:

@luis-antonio Thank you! Maybe you died of overheat! You can't break the stones without drinking some water! :smile: That's maybe the reason, I agree this wasn't very clear.

@costa The forbidden soup! :heart: Thank you! :sparkles:

@flaterectomy Maybe it was because of you ate much rocks without getting any water. There is an overheat mechanic to prevent the player to simply go deeper and deeper. :wink: Thank you for the feedback and for playing! Much appreciated!

@astronautmikedexter Thank you for the feedbacks and for playing! Sorry for the loud music. :sweat_smile: Yeah, we run out of time to implement more sound effects, we could definitely improve on this. :confused: Also, I agree that it could be confusing when the blocks would fall or not, but basically they stick to the similar types if less than 4, and explode if more. If no similars was found in the way, they simply fall. :slight_smile:

Ohhh so cute! Love it!

akronsus 2021-04-28 19:29

Really nice puzzler. Sad, I don't have the situational awareness to beat level 3 xD

It would be really nice, if the head of the Eater would also change on the player itself, instead of only on the ui :)

landosilva 2021-04-28 20:19

@pandapixel Thank you! :smile:

@akronsus Yeah, that would be really nice indeed! Thank you for playing and for the feedback! :heart:

Ah yes, gimme that tasty magma.

Sometimes I was a bit suprised when stuff fell on my head from outside of the screen. But other than that the game feels and looks super nice. The "heat' effect over the screen is a really nice touch aswell! And I love the dude that is chilling at the bottom of the levels.

Great job on this ***H O T*** entry!

buckmeister 2021-04-29 20:51

Dem magma, nom nom nom! Interesting take on a bejeweled-like genre. I like how it was executed, especially given the time constraints. GJ!

mykola 2021-04-30 16:48

Wow, that felt like a really good time killer for mobile. Amazing idea and seems quite original! Great gameplay, graphics, sounds and mood. I had fun playing it. Very well done in creating it in such a short period of time!

vitor-milioni 2021-05-12 16:14

Lovely take on a bejeweled type of game, putting the player as a living object in the middle of it that has to be carefull around what he destroys was very clever, and even more so when instead of a limited number of moves you thematically tied the heatness level to it, also allowing for the cool down mechanic, the art is also one of the, if not the best i've seen around here, it has a lot of personality and is also super cute. A fantastic entry, great job you two!

mysticaldev 2021-05-12 18:08

Very impressive game, well polished and the visuals look great!

igor-kingamer 2021-05-12 18:59

Nice mix of genres! After a few tries, I realized I was thinking too much.

I was expecting bigger combos to give more points, it would be interesting.

I think transitions are a bit slow between pressing the play button, showing "Level X", and showing the level. Also, it would be nice to be able to scroll to see what's above you, or at least have some indication of which columns have blocks above your level.

What I missed the most was better feedback about time, a bar would make it easy to keep track of how much time has passed vs. how much is left.

sleepystudios 2021-05-13 14:05

This is a really deceptively clever game. At first I thought I could easily just keep going down but actually you can plan your moves out pretty well. Really liked setting off massive chain reactions. Nice work!

eldogg 2021-05-14 20:52

Funny little magma eater. Really cool artwork and the controls felt very responsive and it was fun to chomp the magma.

landosilva 2021-05-16 12:30

@swen Yeah, I agree that when things outside of the screen kills you it's a bit frustrating. :disappointed: But thank you for playing and for the feedback! :smile:

@buckmeister Thank you! :smile:

@vitor-milioni Many thanks! :pray:

@mysticaldev Thanks! :sparkles:

@igor-kingamer Yes, definitely combos making more points would be awesome! A bar showing the time would be better indeed. Thank you for the valuable feedbacks! :heart:

@sleepystudios Thank you for playing! :smile:

@eldogg Thanks man! :v:

tom-ruxley 2021-05-18 18:12

I really liked the artwork and the sound! It set the fun tone well. I also liked how you combined turn-based and real-time thinking by allowing the player to dodge rocks just before they fell.
