LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Fat and Furry-ous by Tex Killer 2020-10-07T01:31:27Z

At first I thought I had to eat those yellow balls, so I was kinda confused. Everything leaded me to think it was good to eat it. And when I figure out I must avoid, it was a bit easy to reach the end. Though, the atmosphere was nice and fun. Congratz!

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Out of Frequency by Blizary 2018-12-07T00:48:06Z

I didn't managed to achieve the goal but had fun playing, the mood is really great and I really felt tempted to explore the universe and save the earth. Great work guys!

Cat-Astrophe by LaneDavis 2018-12-07T00:23:04Z

Wow that's a really polished game for a jam. You guys did a great work! Gameplay is fun and challenging, graphics are great and music fits the mood. The only thing I would change is reduce gameplay time (jam reasons) but everything else is awesome! Congratz! ;)

The King's Battle by hugonun 2018-12-07T00:03:59Z

I had an epic moment when the last remaining enemy was the upside down cross (I think it is) that was teleporting me back when I only had 10 HP left. BUT HEY I managed to destroy her! And the K part was really surprising because I definetely wasn't expecting a plot twist in this game. In your next game (or even in this one, if you continue it) I recommend to spend more time giving feedback to your players. It's difficult to see if I'm hitting or getting hitted.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Survivenstein by samoatesgames 2020-05-02T19:44:08Z

Good entry. I liked the concept of changing character and the cooperation you have to do with both because they have different purposes. I never saw this kind of mechanic in Tower Defense genre. Good one!

I don't like the way you put traps. It's with mouse but you have to be close with the character. For me this is a thing that don't combine together.

Sometimes the zombies didn't receive any damage until you move away and come back.

MAKE A WISH - A Star Journey by MAYFury 2020-04-21T23:02:25Z

Wow, I feel my heart hugged. It really striked hard on me. The theme is amazingly applied, it's super innovative by making a online interaction, the graphics and sound both really helps to construct the mood. 10/10 experience overall. If it had something to do while waiting the star to complete it's journey would be an easily 11/10.

Computer Rat by Tybau 2020-04-26T21:36:45Z

To be honest, so far this is the game that I liked the most at Ludum Dare 46. It was a game that I would easily play on Steam or on my phone and not just because it was here.

Greatly executed, with creative gameplay and challenging puzzles for a jam game.

Of course, it could be more polished overall, like improving the graphics/UI, adding some visual and sound FX, but the mechanic is very solid and I think that's the important thing. When I saw the message saying it ended, I was heartbroken because I wanted to continue playing, which I didn't had felt so far at LD46. :sweat_smile:

The only thing I didn't liked was the forced tutorial. Could be 11/10 but I'll give to you 10/10! :laughing:

Congratz! You made a incredible game! :smile:

Drop the egg Jeff by Dextreon 2020-04-24T02:16:50Z

Really fun game! Kept me entertained for a long time, it`s very addictive indeed! Solid entry, congratz! :smile:

DieDry by AAA 2020-05-02T20:07:10Z

Awesome entry! It's very funny and addictive. It was one of the games I wanted to finish and was sad when I passed the last level! Very good job!

Oak Defenders by Hugimugi7 2020-04-24T02:43:36Z

Some small details can be improved a little bit as already said in the comments, like the cursor's contrast with the background, the amount of unused spaces, and the lack of information given to the player. But the graphics and sounds are really nice and it's a cool implementation of Tower Defense and Platform genres. It's very fun to play and very enjoyable overall! :smile:

No crime will happen here! by landosilva 2020-04-21T20:09:34Z

@rea Yeah, the game was not optmized at all, sorry for that! ^^' The game is pretty easy when you realize how the tips are made, but based on the feedbacks I'm receiving from friends it is not that easy to find out how it works. (which is a problem of this game btw). Being more clear on what place you are was on our radar, maybe putting a small sign above the doorways, but we didn't have the time to implement. For now, you can just see it in the map (pressing space) but we definetely will improve this in the future! Thank you for your feedback! :smile:

@joh and @dane-tesla Thank you guys for the feedbacks! :smile: Finding out who is the killer is a lot easier when you understand how the tips are given to you. If you want to try again sometime and want some spoilers, read this:

``` look for the suspect which presents the most angrier emotions and if you see the red one, you found it. After that, you just need to look what places the suspect is related to (in the cards menu) and try to find the weapon hidden in this place. Doing this you have the correct Suspect/Place/Weapon. ```
@dane-tesla and @stell Sorry for the bugs! :worried: The browser version was not tested properly. :tired_face: Or are you talking about the other bugs?
@dane-tesla Christine and me discussed about making a feedback based on the previous accusations but it makes the game much more easier to solve. ^^' Thank you for the feedback! :sparkles:
@d1str4kt0r Glad you liked it! We thought about doing this at least a 2 player game and one is the killer and one is the victim. Some references for what we thought is the multiplayer mode os Assassins Creed III and the good old one Spy vs Spy. :smile:
@maxathon @izokia @pieter-uys-fourie
Thank you all for playing and commenting! :smile:
No crime will happen here! by landosilva 2020-04-23T00:10:46Z
@space-nomad Thanks for the feedback! I'm also on Opera and Windows and I do have this bug. :worried: But on others browsers don't. Looks a bit random. The game chooses the one who will not experience it properly. :disappointed:
@torh Yeah, I can upload there too. I don't think it'll be a problem! :smile: The video you posted is from your channel? If not, can you please send me a link to it? :smile:
@hexa3 That's totally the bug I was talking about. :pensive: Really sorry for that! If you want to, the desktop version is a little bit better. Sorry! :pensive:
@mathemagician HAHAHAHA! :joy: That was a funny situation! Thank you for the feedback! :smile:
@pee-thief Thank you!
No crime will happen here! by landosilva 2020-04-26T20:47:23Z
@grentacular > I couldn’t look under the chair that had the murder weapon (it was always highlighted but wouldn’t let me interact)
That chair that is always highlighted is indeed a glitch, however for that reason it wasn't able to hide weapons. Maybe you found the weapon in other place but it didn't showed properly (which is another bug :disappointed_relieved:).
> I would sometimes get annoyed by the other guests blocking my way through doorways
That was on purpose because in the beginning we had other plans on how to investigate and the guests getting in your way was part of the challenge, but I agree that it can be annoying sometimes. By the way, they can stuck you forever in the doorways. :confused:
> have been helpful to have some sort of information other than “wrong accusation”
Yeah, reading the comments and collecting feedbacks that was something we could have done. :sweat_smile: We thought it would make the game much easier.
> Overall, though, wonderful game. Nice job!
Thank you very much for playing the game and for the valuable feedbacks! :smile:
No crime will happen here! by landosilva 2020-04-26T20:50:46Z
@aj-jones
I'm happy that you didn't had problems with the browser version! It's a really shocking bug for those who has it. :disappointed:
Yeah, that also happened to me one time and I had to restart the game. Sorry for that!
And thank you for playing and leaving a comment! :smile:
No crime will happen here! by landosilva 2020-04-26T20:55:09Z
@barret
> My only problem and maybe I missed something was that I wasn’t sure which rooms were which.
You can have that info pressing space bar! :smiley: We had plans to also putting a small sign above the dooways but there was no time to implement. :disappointed:
> but I imagine sound was the last thing put in the game
That's exactly the case! :sweat_smile: The sound was implemented literally in the last hour.
Thank you very much for playing and the feedbacks! :smile:
No crime will happen here! by landosilva 2020-05-02T15:59:13Z
@haoro Yeah, we agree that the xp mechanics didn't worked as we expected and is a bit uncool. Sorry for this. :sweat_smile: but thank you for playing and leaving a comment! :smile:
@guntainment Thank you! Christine was very happy with your comment praising her UI! :smile:
@krammetje I'm very happy that you could figure it out how it works and was able to win! :heart_eyes: We worked really hard in all the 72 hours we had! Thank you for playing and for the feedback! :smile:
Faire L'Amour aux Plantes by Jenny Bourke 2020-04-21T02:00:12Z
The art style is amazing and the theme is really suitable. The concept is strange but quite funny. Technically speaking, the hitboxes seems a little off. I guess it is due to the screen resolution that is not fitting the web view size.
Dance Dance Unicorn of Magic! by Kagerowo 2020-04-24T19:40:22Z
Fun game and very cool art style/idea! :smile: I missed some feedback with the monsters interaction, like hit effect and HP bar. At first, the game looks very difficult but when you realize you can grab the unicorn everything makes sense. Overall a good game! Congratz! :smile:
Kill the Beast by limbo 2020-04-24T01:54:13Z
You don't have to sorry, that was a cool way to tell a story! Keep practicing, that's definitely the best teacher. I traveled the world with him! :smile: And saved my father (I'm not sure if he deserved but well...), so I guess I "keep it alive". :sweat_smile:
cyberpunk_200s.sys by Epicload 2020-05-03T15:36:02Z
Nice audio and graphics. Just missed some feedback on what's going on. Good entry! 😉
Insanitus by Saulo Rosart 2020-05-03T15:28:28Z
I missed some challenge but it was a nice entry. :smile:
Bomber Escort (or boomer escort) by thatOtherNerd 2020-05-03T00:17:50Z
Very good first jam game! The concept and gameplay is solid though it has a lot of space to improvement and polishing. Other comments already say pretty much everything so I wont be repetitive here.
Congratulations for your entry and keep working! Don't stop here! :smile:
Olive and Kale by Rea 2020-04-21T02:25:25Z
That's a really enjoyable game and well thought game design! It's challenging, has a nice cute story, well fitted graphics and theme, and everything works. Very impressive!
Carry Me Through by WooshDUde 2020-05-03T15:47:26Z
It's fun to play and everything is well made. Just missed some sense of progression and rewarding to the player, since I don't know how close I was to the exit (if there's one). Though, good job!
Protect The Plant by Metehan 2020-05-02T23:49:57Z
I missed some goal to accomplish and not just repeated firing on the same enemies. Weapon variation is nice though I wanted to know how to get them.
I don't know why the map is so big if it has no advantage to leave the plant space. The enemies always go through it, and if I leave the plant will take damage no matter what. Maybe I'm missing something though.
However, graphics, sounds and gameplay worked well together. I didn't have any technical problems which is nice! :smile:
Congratz for your entry! It was a really good start! :wink:
Super Volleyball II Turbo EX plus Alpha World Championship Edition by J B 2020-05-02T17:24:45Z
The game is simple but I enjoyed the time playing it. The name is really good! :laughing:
STRAND·ED by S J Palmer 2020-04-24T02:23:00Z
Really cool concept and well executed entry overwall. Congratz! :smile:
Ladder Man and the Escort Mission of Doom by Lyrdl 2020-05-02T16:37:50Z
I learned the hard way that right click in browser games is not a good idea. Keep this advice in mind in the next one! :sweat_smile: Some browsers in some OSs (I use Opera/Windows) don't handle that properly. I believe that happens when the browsers get that command as a right click in the page, causing the inputs to get stuck because they lost the "OnButtonUp" event. This reinforces the feeling of a glitched input system, even more in a hard game like this.
About the game: I missed some track of progress while playing. I learned pretty fast how to play and was able to get to the house, but the worker just continued walking towards it. Next time, would be nice if you prioritizes the player's reward for playing your game (this includes sense of progress and some end screen). I also missed different challenges, the path could be a bit different with minor tweaks, like maybe making a tight path, a diagonal or vertical structure, things like that.
Summing up: - Don't use right click as input if you plan to make a web version - Reward the player
But besides that, I had fun playing! I always like the challenging ones and you did a good job here! :smile:
Block Pusher by Pixipit 2020-04-21T02:34:21Z
Solid entry. The game is fun and addictive. It's challenging but you could feel progress and improvement on your skills after a few shots. Graphics and sounds well fitted as well. Enjoyable experience overall!
LD47 — Stuck in a loop
Broken Mower by DigitalCrest 2020-10-06T23:34:14Z
I miss some kind of variety on this, maybe some random rocks in the path? Because I feel like there's one optimal path and it is very easy to get right on the first glance. But it was a job very well done considering you did all by yourself! :smile:
Ascend by almost 2020-10-07T23:13:58Z
Wow that was cool! Challenging puzzles and very neat graphics, musics and overall mood! Impressive entry for a jam, congratulations!
A Short Detour by Kyrio 2020-10-06T22:39:21Z
I didn't quite understand what was the goal, missed a bit more of player's interaction, but there are really nice graphics and overall atmosphere, with everything well placed and good lines. Well done!
Bust-a-Loop by PeachTreeOath 2020-10-10T03:43:52Z
Super cool and one of the most original concepts for this theme! Really enjoyed it. Just missed some sound effects, I think it could add a lot into the hype of combing your attacks. Also, it could make a fantastic mobile game, I can easily see myself playing it again. Pretty solid entry, job very well done!
Dreamless by Lamossus 2020-10-10T03:18:30Z
As someone already mentioned, it was unexpectedly deep, but everything is well put together. An interesting approach of the theme as well. Some simple sound effects could add a lot into it. Overall, it was a good entry. :slight_smile:
Hey guys! Thanks for playing! :blush:
@no-grapes-games I'm sorry you face that problem! 😥 The game is intentionally hard though! :smile: After a few plays people start to get more used to the physics, but I'm aware that wasn't everyone who have the patience to get there. :sweat_smile:
@shortbread Thank you! I'll try to improve the feeling of playing it after the rating time is over and update the itchio submission. :slight_smile:
Where's my glasses? by landosilva 2020-10-07T23:53:54Z
@lazyalarm Thanks for playing and for the feedback! :blush: Sorry for the hard controls, when I was developing it I kinda get used to it (for me, the way it is the game is super easy :sweat_smile:) but yeah, this has been the main critic we are receiving of players and friends, and I'll definitely take another look into it after the rating time is over! :smile:
Where's my glasses? by landosilva 2020-10-10T16:17:26Z
Where's my glasses? by landosilva 2020-10-10T22:39:38Z
@corbak Sorry if it was tedious for you. :sweat_smile: In the future I plan to improve the feeling of playing it since it was the main complain of everyone. When I was developing, I get used to it and started to easily beat the boss, so I didn't notice it was that hard. Though thank you very much for playing and for leaving a comment! It was a pleasure to play your game! :blush:
Where's my glasses? by landosilva 2020-10-11T00:02:55Z
@francesco I'm sorry it was difficult for you! But thanks for playing and for leaving a comment. :heart: Maybe the frame rate was a bit low for you, then a game that is already very hard becomes even worse. You can try the executable version if you use Windows. :slight_smile:
Psychopath Basement by Corbak 2020-10-10T20:24:39Z
At first I was a bit confused and I didn't get what I have to do (I didn't have the habit to read instructions, sorry :sweat_smile:) but when I figure it out I was totally impressed by this. This was one of those games you find and really wanted to reach the end. Really well executed, everything looks very good together, and the puzzle is very challenging and fun to do. I only manage to release the woman and the old guy, I didn't find the way to get that red key. It was supposed to be a wall collider on that thin barrier? I would love to see a video of you releasing all the three! Send me if you can. :wink: Pretty amazing entry! Good job!
Cercle funeste by LoicLeGrosFrere 2020-10-10T23:59:25Z
This game is very confusing at first but when you figure out how it works it completely transforms the way you see it. Solid puzzle mechanics, good artwork and sound. Can't say about the story, to be honest I didn't reach the end, but enjoyed the time I was playing it (when I started to actually think about and stopped to try random squares :sweat_smile:). If it just had a better player introduction would be a fantastic entry, but it is still very good though. Congratz!
Orbit by Johan Alexandersson 2020-10-07T01:38:16Z
Very solid entry! Congratz! Respect for making it in PICO-8! :smile:
Undead Carnival Carnage by dummydojo 2020-10-10T04:02:40Z
Nothing much to say to be honest, this was an insane entry. Looks incredibly polished ans everything is very well done and placed. Very impressive, congratz! :smile:
Escape-loop by Chukwuebuka_racer 2020-10-08T00:18:50Z
I wanted to have more control of where I'm shooting, but overall it was a nice entry! Congratz for doing all by yourself! :blush:
Clone Kitchen by StormCat 2020-10-10T03:31:03Z
Tutorial is a bit too long, but it was a nice introduction. I would like to have more goals for the clones, instead of just being an obstacle to deliver other dishes as the game progresses, but I think this was the purpose of them. :sweat_smile: Fun game though! Congratz!
Beep-Boop-Loop by derstander 2020-10-07T23:31:52Z
Nice entry! Simple and fun game. I always admire people that manage to make everything by yourself. Congratz! :blush:
Loopy Keys by LazyAlarm 2020-10-08T21:50:30Z
On my second run I search in every single place and didn't found the key, and the FPS dropped a lot as well, making it totally unplayable. Though, it was fun while it was working! :blush: It is very easy to start and know what you have to do, and the craziness of it is very relatable! :laughing: I'd also like to say that it is very similar to one of my ideas! :smile: Good entry!
Blobs by GameFriend 2020-10-09T00:06:14Z
Funny! It's like a clicker game with a twist. Though I started leveling up just the ring size and I was a bit disappointed it has a limit! :laughing: Stopped playing when I was getting 60+ blobs for just standing around. Missed some kind of goal, or maybe just an achievement system would be a great addiction to this game. Also, I feel like if you do a simple 2D graphics on it instead of the 3D approach would feel better as well. Overall, it was relaxing and fun to play. Good job!
Loop of Doubt by King_Cacti 2020-10-10T04:27:38Z
I don't know if the timer getting back to zero after 60 seconds was intentional, maybe it was a classic beginner mistake that happens when you are using a time variable and checking just the seconds, but when it turns into 60, it actually becomes 1 minute and 0 seconds. Though, with this happening we are indeed stuck in a loop here. :laughing:
I had fun with it! And I definitely wish that killing my self doubts was that easy. :sweat_smile:
It was a nice entry, even more considering it was your first and you did all by yourself. Good job! :blush:
Hamster's Disaster by KillRyusha 2020-10-10T03:59:31Z
That gum is very punitive, took a while to realize it was the reason I can't do anything. Also missed some final goal to accomplish. Though, graphics and sounds are very good and the theme is well placed here. Congratz! :slight_smile:
CircleRC by SwiftVector 2020-10-08T22:10:01Z
Woah! This entry is amazing. I love when I'm passing through this Ludum Dare games and found one that I honestly wanted to reach the end. This was one of these games! It's very fun, fits perfectly the theme with a very creative approach, graphics and sounds are good too. After the level 6 I was considering myself a pro player already. I definitely want to see more of this! Please make a mobile game of it and send me later! :smile:
Looper by Shortbread 2020-10-08T22:31:21Z
Nothing much to say about it honestly, it was on point on everything. One of the best presentations I've ever saw in any LudumDare edition. Everything looks very polished and well together. The theme approach is also one of the most creatives ones, and all of that with a very fun game to play. Perfect! 10/10! Congratz! :smile:
LD48 — Deeper and deeper
Riches Below! by mobiledev 2021-04-29T20:19:50Z
My first thought is why I have that hand pointing to the square on the right. I couldn't find out why until I advanced to another floow. Looks like it is pointing to the current floor I am. It seemed a bit weird. Visually it is awesome though! :smile: Like the graphics and animations. Good job!
Minerun by HenriqGiron 2021-05-11T21:26:25Z
I'm really into isometric games so the art style is really appealing to me. I just wish to have more control of the game instead of being just fast and lucky. Despite this, very good entry!
Match! Drop! Match! by clue 2021-04-28T20:49:00Z
Really good interpretation of the match-3 genre for fitting into the LudumDare theme. The thing that I liked the most is the fact you guys have implemented a leaderboard! You could remove the devs names before submitting though! Music and SFX are also nice. Solid entry!
🔥 Magma Eater 🔥 by landosilva 2021-04-27T20:38:26Z
@theblondebass Thank you! :smile: Yeah, when you got a lot of combos things go a bit wild. :sweat_smile:
@luis-antonio Thank you! Maybe you died of overheat! You can't break the stones without drinking some water! :smile: That's maybe the reason, I agree this wasn't very clear.
@costa The forbidden soup! :heart: Thank you! :sparkles:
@flaterectomy Maybe it was because of you ate much rocks without getting any water. There is an overheat mechanic to prevent the player to simply go deeper and deeper. :wink: Thank you for the feedback and for playing! Much appreciated!
@astronautmikedexter Thank you for the feedbacks and for playing! Sorry for the loud music. :sweat_smile: Yeah, we run out of time to implement more sound effects, we could definitely improve on this. :confused: Also, I agree that it could be confusing when the blocks would fall or not, but basically they stick to the similar types if less than 4, and explode if more. If no similars was found in the way, they simply fall. :slight_smile:
🔥 Magma Eater 🔥 by landosilva 2021-04-28T20:19:30Z
@mysticaldev Thanks! :sparkles:
@igor-kingamer Yes, definitely combos making more points would be awesome! A bar showing the time would be better indeed. Thank you for the valuable feedbacks! :heart:
@sleepystudios Thank you for playing! :smile:
@eldogg Thanks man! :v:
After the tutorial the obstacles stopped to appear and I just started an endless fall. :confused: But it seemed fun to play in the beginning! If I really like skill based games so it was a nice mechanic! :slight_smile:
Challenging and chill game. I liked it! It's frustrating to re spawn on top of something and lose the bubble immediately though. Despite this, very good entry!
It is a fun gameplay mechanic and concept, I really like the idea, but I missed some sort of goal and progress indicator. The game ended all of sudden when I was questioning myself if there will be an end or something else to do.
Oh, that was a really nice entry! Very well done! Super polished, I felt like I was playing a normal game, instead of a jam game, if not for the duration of it. Awesome job!
That's a freaking good and polished game! You guys totally nailed it! I just think it's a bit sad to have all these amazing art on the screen but I can't look at them because I have to concentrate on the left side. :sweat_smile:
