I liked this a lot, quite a challenge and very frustrating but in a good way. Will be playing it more for sure in the future.

@majinbuubop Thank you very much for the comment, glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome! I Loved the slide mechanic, it was really fun to just slide, that said catching the egg afterward is pretty difficult. I had fun playing it!
A really challengeing game. I like it.
Goddamn Jeff, get your shit together.
Reminds me of "Getting over it", f***ed up physic game that make me rage instantly against myself. Great job, you nailed it ! Would have been nice to have some music !
Really good game! I was able to get to the 3rd person and walk like 5 meters until stupid Jeff dropped the egg. Unforgiving gameplay with alot of fun and cool mechanics! Some background music would have been nice but that's all for the negative side
Keep it up!
Thank you all for the kind comments, we're glad you like it! The music is coooming soon in the new patch!
Jeff is very happy! :green_heart:
Aaah, so frustrating haha. Really nice idea. Well done!
Nice idea, slide is very cool, but checkpoints would be great, I like the challenge but it's annoying to play from the start every time...
So challenging!! Really nice idea :)
Very QWOP with the physics/controls in this, very challenging to play, but I think that's the point? One issue I would raise is that I seemed to get stuck on the slopes if I miss timed my jump even slightly which led to far more restarts than I would have liked. A good challenge is one where you feel that you as the player messed up and failed, not that the game cheated and made you fail. Would have also been nice to have some music in the game, and the art was serviceable. Well done for trying out a new engine though and for getting something made in a weekend!
Love the idea, though I would love to see it bit less hardcore, since I was having really hard time to get thru the begining. Or maybe I am just not good at this :) Anyway really awesome entry! Good job
We are adding checkpoints to make the game easier but still a challenge. glad you enjoyed it <3
I think this game holds so much potential to be one of those ridiculous physics games; it was difficult and whilst the physics themselves never felt unfair, getting Jeff caught on the corners of slopes when he simpley needed to just clear them with a jump felt more like an error in collision checking than it did a quirky thing to modifysdifficulty in the game's advantage.
I think the title is brilliant and the story behind it even explains completely why we're doing what we're doing. The artwork was cute, readable and fitting for the theme. I feel like the jam theme itself was uniquely interpreted too. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your entry!
I like the concept!
The physics / controls are a bit finicky: - I get stuck on tiny ramps (that triple jump section early on is a real pain) - the player drops the egg when turning from left to right - the sliding pose isn't able to catch the egg (hands extended) for epic catches. - sometimes the gg seems to fall straight through my arm
The game is a bit addicting, so I kept trying anyways :) I made it past the first body swap and up the 4-jump, but egg fell in the water
Well, i tried. I tried so hard that i'm exausted. I found a bug which the egg simply falls off my hands some times. It would be awesome if after changing the scenario, we had a checkpoint. The physics are a bit strange in a challenging and tiring (for me) way. Good job! It has a bit of humour that made me try again (and again... and again...).
This one is hard :) And I suck with such games The fun part is, that my first play was the best :)
This game is so hard that it's incredibly addictive! Simple mechanics but really well executed. I wish you would have added some kind of checkpoints to make it a bit more fair but overall awesome game.
oh boi, I'm so impatient with balancing games D:
For having no prior history with Godot, this is amazing! Personally couldn't make it through the first colourscheme, but I see from the screenshots you have at least 3 tilesets aka I was far from finishing the game. Big Kudos all around!
That guys face was exactly mine when i tried to hold the egg haha, I really like the idea, perfect choice for the theme. Sometimes the slide is a bit buggy with catching and the egg drops through the arms, but all in all I really like it. =)
Great game! Loved how you used the mechanics to support your interpretation of the theme!
Thank you all for your feedback! It is much appreciated  We're already fixing those tiny bugs that sometimes appear in the game, we're putting all our effort to fix them ASAP!
well i spend a lot of time on this  i never imagine one egg can change whole complexity on platformer game.. the art is cute and the game look polished. really promising entry, good job
Really Challenging and fun. I only wish you could change directions without dropping the egg. Awesome entry thanks for letting me play!
very adictive game, i replayed it a lot, the game is great i was just a bit frustrating by the jump by moment but other then that it's a good entry, goodjob!
This is the hardest game I can remember playing. Once I got the guy on blue ground to catch it... Nice work though I love the atmosphere
That's a perfect idea that follows "Keep it alive" theme! And very impressive work for one who didn't have any experience with Godot earlier. Great job!
Super unique game here! I saw the video on Reddit and thought it looked so good, plays even better :) Although you make it look easy in the video
Very fun mechanics! A tip, on the itch.io Install instructions : "Download and install instructions from dexgamedev:
Unzip the file and EGGXECUTE!"
It's a really nice mechanic and really challenging, i like it!
Eggcellent!
What a fun little time waster! I tried my best to get to the 5 clone but not having a checkpoint between 4-5 just killed it for me...
From 3-4, the egg was hiting the ceiling! It`s not my fault! The ceiling should be a litte higher. I liked how you used some stuff to guide the player were he needs to be or jump, using the grass and tiles, I easily saw that and got a good grip of the physics with it, speeding up my progress, it also rewards the player, well, in this case, me, with "haha, i'm very smart" hahahha.
I HATED not being able to turn around but at the same time I understood it, there was no problem with it, i just got mad everytime i stepped back, and bummed out in cases where my only option was breaking the egg.
What i wish that had was that when u are sliding, the slide would kick the egg a high enough for you to grab it, it would be awesome.
Congratulations on your game!

Fun take on the theme! The idea of doing all these moves to progress with the egg was something I found quite humorous. In terms of gameplay, the physics offer pretty fun interactions, just the first segment of jumping and sliding is enough proof of that. That said, it made me wish you could somehow 'rescue' the egg with the slide, I could keep it bouncing for a bit but could never recover it, it would make for eggciting (sorry) moments if you could actually make a last second save by sliding under it. Good job!
Really fun game! Kept me entertained for a long time, it`s very addictive indeed! Solid entry, congratz!
Similar concept to my entry, but more with a more comedic & precarious feeling. Nice work.
Thank you very much for your feedback!! I'm really happy to see these results and watching that you all enjoyed the game! All EGGXECUTE jokes are welcome! hahaha
Hi!! Really a good game for the first time you use godot! I really like the "slide" effect of the character however I feel the animation was really slow when walking. I found the bug when you grab the egg looking to the left and you try to move to the right. the egg doesn't keep in you arms so definetively I keep loosing one time and other. But It's a good game!! Congratulations.
Cool game! I found it fun but a little frustrating. It was quite hard but a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Really good game for a firs jam! Improvements: jump height determined on how long you hold the space bar, difficulty modes (easy, medium, hard) with some aid (like a mini magnet that pulls the egg in when it's close). Great job!
Its fun! Trying to save the egg :)
But sometimes the egg falls from between his hands.. Maybe make him hold it more carefully?
That's really funny and fits the theme so well, albeit very challenging.
Thank you all for your feedback!!
@laura-del-pino Hey! I'm glad you liked it! If you side to the opposite side, you'll drop the egg, it's not a bug, it's a feature. It's done on purpose, but yeah, it needs an explanation! Thanks! :)
@emperor-eagle Thanks for the feedback! We're planning to add improvements in the jump/movement and add more puzzles and difficulties to the game!
@sparsha-dhar @splitpainter I'm glad that you had a good time with it. Thanks guys!!
Surprisingly funny!! The sliding mechanic is genious and adds a lot to the game, I think.
Well done!
This is very challenging as my egg kept falling when I moved a bit fast. But I liked how there is a guide to jump or slide. Good job!
i really like the idea, its super funny!
Liked the idea a lot, and even though I was really close to finishing the game (could see the end of the prototype) suddenly I grow too frustrated and ragequitted lol.. The idea is nice, but the clumsiness of the controls is already challenging per se, so the last checkpoint really gave me headache.. I've tried like 40+ times and finally gave up. A bit of tuning and you're good to go!
That's a fit scientist. Very fun game. Only one recommendation, do not restart the background music when the player loses it just make it more repetitive. Overall a really good game. Good job!
I enjoyed how frustratingly difficult this game was, the challenge kept me wanting to try again! The controls felt nice and I like the fact you added controller support too. Great job with all that!
The graphics looked good too, I feel like I'd pull the same expression of Jeff if I was him (points for humour with that). There were a couple of bugs I found, such as being able to slide through the wall on the left of the player but small issues like that are to be expected in a jam! overall a really good game that I enjoyed, well done ! :)
I laughed a lot! Very challenging but very pleasing. Well done for a first time with Godot!
The game is good but the controls a bit hard somethimes. Good music.
@hyunkelw Damn! I'm so glad you played that much, and I'm so thankful that you liked it! I know that the last level should be balanced... haha. We did it that way since it was the last one, so it had to be difficult, but yeah, it was even almost impossible for me. Thank you for the feedback, is really helping us out!
@nachodlv I'll do what you said with the music, nice tip there! Thanks for playing!
@tom-stephenson Thank you for the feedback! And yeah, we're still trying to fix some tiny things! I'm glad you liked the game! :ok_hand:
@goutye Thank you very much for your rating!!
@adrian-guevara The controls are done that way on purpose, that's the point of the game! Thanks for the feeback!
Haham, just played and I really liked it!
I am conflicted with this one, I feel that it has a lot of potential but falls short in some areas. I like the core idea, but it just feels a little too janky for me. The controls and animation are too slow, it feels like I'm running in water. The sliding animation is very jank, and me turning around leading to the egg just falling feels super cheap. The art is also inconsistent, the character is toon shaded but the backgrounds and egg are all pixel-art. I understand that you'd argue that the hard controls are part of the game, but contrary to some comparisons to QWOP where the game is hard but predictable, I feel that this games controls don't do what I expect them to do. The start of running was too slow, and the stopping was too fast.
All that said, I think that the game was fun, and often hard in a fun way. Sorry for being really negative, I did actually like the game, and my rating will not be as harsh as this comment makes it out to be! I just read on Reddit that you are continuing development (if I remember correctly) so I want to give some constructive (and kind of harsh) feedback.
I didn't know that mad scientists could retire ;-). The web build takes quite a long time to start (after the loading screen), so you probably want to mention that on the itch page. I agree with the other comments that the controls need ~~some~~ a lot of work. One of the things not mentioned by others is that the egg should rotate with you as you change the direction of the character. Otherwise it just becomes way too hard. I made it to the blue area, I couldn't get past the first obstacle there. The music is nice, but the audio goes nuts each time the scene is reloaded. I would also like some some patchnotes, so that I know what has been improved.
@filip-bergkvist Hey! Thanks for the harsh feedback, thanks to that we can actually improve the game. I really agree with you that the art and animations are janky and inconsistent, but there's a reason. I don't want to make an excuse here, but during this jam, I was teaching my partner (who had no idea of game dev, nor the concepts behind it) and he managed to use Godot and make animations with IKs. Besides that, I was also learning how to use Godot in the meantime, so we didn't really have time to make the art consistent or make the gameplay as polished as I would do it with UE4 or Unity. It was a challenge for us. I'm a pure coder and he's a graphic designer who never used a game engine or made animation so we're still working on improving the inconsistencies of the art/animations and I'm also trying to improve the physics of the character and the stuff that annoys people like turning and dropping the egg.
One more time, thanks for the harsh feedback and don't apologize for it, it's gonna help us a lot!
@mika-la-grand Hello! The web build issue that you tell me it's not happening to me, I actually tried it in 2 of my PCs in different web browsers (Firefox, Chrome and Opera) and with a 20mb internet connection it had a 12 sec of loading time in average for the first time. Going faster once loaded. So I can't agree with that :grimacing: In regards to the controls and the egg fall when turning, we're working on it, it was a feature at first, but it's extremely difficult for people, so we're gonna change it. The audio issue as well is under watch. Thanks for the patchnotes idea! We'll add it to our Trello and Itch.io page! Thanks for the overall feedback!
Thanks for submitting your game for me to play on my livestream!

I really liked it is a good challenge, nice mechanics, music and graphics, sometimes it falls if you turn left ,good job! retohuevo.jpg
Great music, kept me relaxed and in the mood enough to play for way longer than I would have otherwise.
Interesting gameplay and mechanics, felt pretty smooth. Egg grab could be a little more forgiving by sticking to hands a little bit more.
Overall it was engaging and quite fun, while music kept it from becoming frustrating too fast.
Just for clarification: Did you add music and update graphics with changes of about 1500 LOC after the submission, with no changelog and no original version of the game left to play? If so, please check the rules of the jam.
The core gameplay is really fun! Something about balancing the egg and catching it again is is really satisfying. Even dropping it is fun (godammmit jeff)
I got stuck on terrain a bit too easily, though. And I think adding some more reliable ways to increase your speed (so you can catch up to a runaway egg) would help get rid of some frustration.
I had fun with this one :)
For the **anonymous** comment: Yes, I forgot to add the changelog for the already made changes in the game, it was in Trello, but not in the main page, so now it is up and working, in addition with the LOCs of the audio, right above!
The original version of the game can be played in the [Itch.io page](https://dexgamedev.itch.io/drop-the-egg-jeff), there are 2 versions, the updated one and the vanilla version.
I hope everything goes well, I forgot about these things! :grimacing:
Frustratingly-Fun! I really did get a kick on the slide-mechanics; I was hoping there was some checkpoint (assumingly I thought it was the red-gem) once you pass along the egg toward the next subject, then fumbled.. Did not go far but I like where its going. Satisfying crunch of the egg. Some laughable moments of the glitches I could pull-off on wall-embeds, slide through the walls once you attempt to go full-assertive on trying to pull a speed-run through the course..Kudos on making this on Godot! :dizzy:
