LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Set in Stone by Sn4pi 2020-10-08T22:51:59Z

Pretty good for a jam game, also really thematic which I personally like. Animations were a nice addition which often gets overlooked/pushed to wishlist, and some enemies were interesting by design. Not sure if I ever encountered the boss, maybe should have died more times.

Unfortunately power ups and the like didn't make it to the end product, but they were definitely one of the ideas when brainstorming this. @jojopalambas Personally I see this as more of a prototype and a study piece to improve my solo developing skills, but I'm glad if it's enjoyable to try.

Where's my glasses? by landosilva 2020-10-06T20:58:17Z

The idea is really nice, the timing in order to move mechanic is simple but something not seen much in 3D. The game was really laggy though, which made the timing difficult, so didn't get that far.

Chicxulub by Literal Games 2020-10-08T21:07:49Z

This one was one of the few games I played through. Was really nice, the art, sounds and overall game mechanics makes it feel like a complete game that's enjoyable to play.

I actually had a similar idea while brainstorming, but you nailed the execution really well in all aspects. Having melee on the "cannon" is a nice addition.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Type Fisher by breadstix 2021-04-27T23:03:20Z

I think this is a good result from only two days of development. Using a type writing game as a base for the theme was an interesting choice. Personally I would have hoped for the mechanic to be even more in theme (for example getting to fish deeper the more words you manage to write or something like that). The only advice I can give for future jams is to keep things simple, like I think you managed to do here. It's all about picking the fight you're most interested in in a jam, whether it's a nice mechanic or making a good looking game. :)

Deepest Sword by Strega 2021-04-27T22:34:36Z

Feels like the child of Shovel Knight and Getting Over It. Lovely. :D

THIEFEUS: Rynth, Repeat by Dorkulon 2021-04-27T20:21:36Z

A really interesting mechanic for being quiet, simple to understand but not too easy to actually act according to. And nice that you have a chance to get away even when in a tight spot rather than getting an isntant game over.

Drill goes brrrr! by BOOtak 2021-04-27T21:56:05Z

A nice simple game, nothing mindblowing but very enjoyable. The only thing I was kinda left wanting was sounds in the game, there seem to only be sounds in the menu.

Surface Level by DecadeDecaf 2021-04-27T00:49:19Z

A nice game for one made within just 2 days. I was unsure during the introductions if the game was going to be a visual novel without gameplay, until the minigames started rolling. Maybe in a full game there could be minigames outside of conversations, or a guide in the beginning how conversations are going to go later on (kinda like practicing a conversation on a dummy), but for a jam game it's solid. It's like you made multiple games and not just one.

Fight Bytes by DrGrognak 2021-04-26T23:35:57Z

Nice to see a strategy game. Ofc this is a prototype, but I'd say it only misses a win/lose screen to be a full game. :)

Necro Digger by gnaro 2021-04-27T01:06:03Z

A nice and solid game, makes me think of a certain digging minigame in the game Okami. Felt a little prototypey due to lack of overall polish, but that's to be expected from a game made in 2 days.

Slug Adventure by TheWinrawr 2021-04-27T00:01:54Z

A nice overall execution! I like the simple one button control, that would make it suitable even for mobile devices. It was a little tough to start the game on itch.io as browsers use space for scrolling down the page, but it worked in the end.

Snake Match by Recher 2021-04-27T23:16:16Z

As someone who's played way too many match3 games, this was an interesting experience. :D Was a little difficult to grasp how the snake worked, and not being able to manipulate the fruit like I'm used to. In overall a nice game.

A Musical Interlude by Kohonens 2021-04-27T22:10:56Z

Interesting indeed, was a little confusing though. I have no idea what this "Rube Goldburg machine" is, so would have been nice to add a description of that somewhere. The browser build was also rather laggy.

Dreamania by Gomega 2021-04-27T01:15:28Z

Nice and simple design, I like the idea of the random powers between dreams. I'm just so bad at the game that it ended up mostly in nightmares. :D
