Dwarven Surveyor by Jimbly 2021-04-26T19:26:15Z
Interesting idea, nice entry! However, I do feel a lack of information while deciding where to use my resources, so as mistakes pile up I end up feeling a bit os frustation.

I love management games, and this one is somewhat a mix of Rimworld and FTL, and I do mean that as a compliment! I found it kinda hard to pick up the game pacing and what is required to do in each situation. I feel overwhelmed at times but its great when everything works out and no one dies!
Great game dude!
I love this 3D FPS/Pixel art combination!
I love this kind of game that feels like work, in a good way. Congratulations! I think you should keep developing this further!
This is much more of a digital toy than a game, but it is a nice one at that. Nice chill vibes! Makes me think of Townscaper, but reversed
Cool and relaxing game, just like fishing! The collecting aspect wraps up the design and make me wanna play over and over!
I like the gameplay! Just think that the walls need to look "meaner", didn't fully understood that they'd make you lose the game in the first couple times
This is an interesting concept, good work! Also, I love the graphics on the dwarf!
Interesting design idea, seems like a mix of a scroller shooter and something like Papers Please! Great job!
@phealsout haha YEA! That is the feeling I was going for! @blockerz Awesome! I'm sorry about the quitting, I just didn't remember I had to do this  Jump is just an alternate means of movement, since you spend a lot of time walking I thought this is the kind of gamew design polish thing I could do! Also if you continuously jump when the ground is on fire you can avoid some damage!
@digitalcrest Thanks! That is what I was aiming for! I'm a game designer so I spent most of my time there and couldn't do anything else before I felt it was solid and fun
@tebon Thank you for playing and for the feedback! My goal was to keep the players actions simple but with time they made the game's dynamic shift from something like a resource management/clicker to a time management/idle as the game went on. However if I was to improve upon this I would surely address the players actions to be more engaging (and less "repetitive")!
@secret-magic-404 Congrats and thank you for your kind words! Game feeling is one of the things I value most and I'm very happy that it felt great for you! :v: You're absolutely correct, if I do continue developing this I'd start thinking on player actions and how they could affect minions, like movement buffs, direction and such.
@thijs-tak @pavelc YES! Man, I love to hear that you got that nice experience! At some point in dev the zombies would pick up coins for you, but I decided to change that so there could be this nice moment when you found out you chose the wrong side but all the loot would make it into a positive moment
@rob-parker Thank you! Since this was my first LD Compo I tried to work with simple mechanics that could be polished enough to be solid and fun! There is actually no way to force your minions in one direction or the other but to wait them to get to a wall. I liked the basic concept of not being able to directly control your minions but if I had more time I'd have implemented a skill to turn them around or something. If I continue developing it this is surely the path I'd take to further this design.
@crazykittens-892-yt Haha nice to hear this! I deliberately omitted any information about the lava floor so people could have this exact "teaching" moment. I'm very happy to know that this has paid off! And I do agree also about the graphics, they are really basic! I chose to spend more time testing and polishing the controls/design
Thanks @sunblast ! For me its always a challenge tuning a game with no gameplay test time haha! In those cases I fear that I might be making it too hard
@david-mason Thank you :D
Interesting concept!
I got off screen one time and couldn't get the character to show up anymore haha! But other than that, great entry :)
What a great submission! An elegant idea with such good execution! Congrats!
