LD27 — 10 Seconds

The Stolen Seconds by Jogy34 2013-08-28T00:04:00

I had the same problem as everyone else - the player moves far too fast. Congrats on implementing random levels though!

Chrono Escape by Snail_Man 2013-08-31T17:16:00

Gets very difficult to see what's going on out of view, but really good fun and a great concept! Well done!

Nigeria: Live Fast Die Young by TheDreik 2013-08-31T15:56:00

Damn, do I just suck or is the car driving part just hard? Also, I'm not sure why I kept coming across cops but what the hell, it was a fun game!

Pleading Rain by Brassawiking 2013-08-31T15:27:00

I got D - I killed my brother! D:

Dragon Spawn by wilverine 2013-08-31T17:03:00

Good start for a more detailed game! Keep working on it!

The Ones You Love by zatyka 2013-08-28T00:20:00

Really good work. The story was well thought out, and I liked the various deaths everyone had. The link to the theme was a bit weak but well implemented. All in all really good work!

Can You Save Her? by wintermute 2013-09-01T15:01:00

Interesting concept, I enjoyed it! One thing that would have been nice was separate buttons for yes and no, instead of having to check which was selected before you pressed X everytime, especially since most were No.

Silver by SnoringFrog 2013-08-27T23:59:00

Interesting concept, and it was so close to being a good implementation. Really good use of the theme though!

hurry! by hughsk 2013-08-31T18:35:00

Fantastic! Really god fun, although it didn't save my best score...

SpeedBall by Ascelate 2013-08-31T15:41:00

That was pretty hard! Also, I'm not sure but I think holding both W and Up at the same time made you accelerate twice as fast?

SpeedRoid by Psifour 2013-08-27T23:52:00

I enjoyed the concept, but I only managed to last until a change a few times. I'm not sure if that's because I suck or I got unlucky with the random generation though.

Time Labyrinth by mochalematazi 2013-08-27T23:47:00

I'm really impressed with the amount of story, it was really long! Interesting use of the theme and the graphics were sublime!

10 Second Army by Literal Games 2013-08-28T10:36:00

@zatyka You can skip the scrolling! Just press space. I said something about it in one of the tutorial messages... I think.
@jwolf - there's a reset button too - R. That one I didn't explain, so that's on me.

10 Second Army by Literal Games 2013-08-31T18:38:00

Yeah, there are some bugs that need sorting out, and it should give consistent results and we were planning on adding abilities such as changing the positions of units while they march but didn't have time and we weren't sure how to implement it. Thanks for the reviews and ideas everyone!

10 second maze by connorwiniarczyk 2013-08-31T15:33:00

Mazes are always a nice idea. It's a solid base for a game, even with a few simple extra mechanics it could be really fun.

SpaceJumper - Spooderman by yuno 2013-08-31T16:48:00

Nice concept! It might work better if you didn't hit your head on the asteroids though, but I had fun

one knights night by tamashihoshi 2013-08-31T15:47:00

Neat little game. I really enjoyed the story, the art at the start was great! The game itself is really hard though, and could be helped by only restarting the current floor when you die. All in all impressive for only 8 hours.

I Am Time Bomb by LegacyCrono 2013-08-31T16:28:00

Pretty damn interesting game, and I wish I had people to play it with!

Every Ten Seconds A Kitten Drowns by matthias_zarzecki 2013-08-31T16:15:00

Pretty damn good game, though as others have said a money count would be great. I wasn't very good at saving kittens though.

Crappydoodle by superjoebob 2013-09-01T14:48:00

Fun, inventive little game. I'm going back to play more now!

Hungry People With Swords That Are Too Big by Norgg 2013-08-31T16:24:00

Got a few of my friends playing it with me, it was great. The awkward controls... I know what you were going for, and it kind of works, but with a bit of tweaking I feel it could be both awkward but usable, if that makes sense.

Tower of Voronoi by andrebeton 2013-08-31T18:14:00

Interesting concept, would be fun to play with someone and see what tactics you could come up with.

Stare by Drabiter 2013-08-31T17:55:00

Short, good idea, and well executed for what it is. It may be nothing special but it's done well.

Factory Wars by The Evil Cult 2013-08-31T18:08:00

Pretty damn good game - it was fun finding the different unit's strengths and weaknesses, although at the end I just amassed heal bots and gun robots.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Connecting LD30 to the Real World by Will Edwards 2014-08-29T12:22:00

Nice, rated it a bit differently because it's not really a 'game' but it's really cool, and gets 5 for innovation!

The Two-Dimensional Universe by Zathnic 2014-08-30T17:47:00

Really enjoyable game, loved the sense of progression despite not knowing exactly where to go!

Heart Star by AdventureIslands 2014-09-15T17:37:00

Very nice graphically. Great work overall!

So few polys! by villhest 2014-08-26T13:59:00

Really creative and huge game world you've created. I'm really impressed!

Boat/Mouth by PeteGrammarman 2014-08-27T10:22:00

That's some fun stuff. Hard, but fun. As others have said, a score timer would have been the final touch to make this a proper game, but it's fun nonetheless.

Zwitch by syawqy 2014-08-26T12:59:00

Funky music and nice fast pace!

Dimension Gunner by Kyoutashan 2014-08-26T12:26:00

Not the most intuitive controls, but otherwise a nice challenge

Her Garden by Gaeel 2014-08-30T21:26:00

Hm, had some visual issues with little black boxes around every sprite... Still, pretty game if I imagine they're not there and a neat idea! 5/5 for theme and innovation, and graphics because I feel like I'm so close to seeing something really pretty!

Wheel of Life by Sverik 2014-08-27T09:59:00

Nice game that could be so much fun if the collision detection was that little bit better and the seasonal effects were slightly more pronounced. Cool level design though.

Prismatic Worlds by LandoSystems 2014-08-30T21:50:00

Cool, movement seemed slow, although I'm being picky. Played all the way through and was impressed by the difficulty. Each colour had innovation and I loved the Megaman-inspired beat-boss-to-collect-weapon feel! Graphics were also very impressive, really liked the lighting!

Literally Connected Worlds by geometrix 2014-08-27T10:07:00

Pretty good fun - seemed a bit slow, but I'm not sure there's much you could do to change that. Music sounded good!

Luna by CrownCity 2014-08-28T18:08:00

Woah, tough... might be more fun if was easier to begin with at least. But a nice little game otherwise, well done!

The Artifacts of Color by Jaucheman 2014-08-27T12:41:00

Iffy controls but a cool little concept. Could be clearer what to do!

Wizards Gone Wild by Lizzip 2014-08-27T10:17:00

A pretty good game with a nice use of the theme! The difficulty was spot on, so well done with that. Jumping physics seemed a little jumpy but that could just be me. Great job!

Please Hold by Liz England 2014-08-27T10:25:00

Hilarious game. Great work with the dialogue options.

Connector by TeamEagle 2014-08-26T15:18:00

Fantastic game! Liked having to figure out how to stop turrets , and the polish was on a very high level in terms of graphics, audio and gameplay!

Bound by grayhaze 2014-08-31T10:27:00

Cool, one thing you did really well was the feel of the character, lots of games made in the time limit understandably have poor control or are too slow or don't bother with jump height depending on the length of the press. So well done for doing well with that, we've avoided making platformers because we know we couldn't manage decent character control! Needs a different method for changing those colours, because as it stands you just have to wait for the right colours to appear. But sounds as if you've got some good ideas moving forward with developing it, good luck!

Light of the World by Limyc 2014-08-27T11:58:00

Some really cool lighting effects, and the ending is pretty cool even without any philosophy! Nice organic gameplay made this a fascinating entry, with the light being the clue to location and becoming difficult to spot when you're emitting more light. Very cool, but a shame that it isn't used (not that I could see anyway)in the final star, which was a ittle frustrating to find. But it's one of my favourite gameplay ideas so far!

Ports Ahoy! The Age of Trade by Literal Games 2014-08-27T11:28:00

Thanks for the suggestion Iiamere, we did have some discussion about pirates and weren't sure exactly how we ought to do them. As it is the idea is that you need to watch to see where the ship goes missing, then send a privateer to take out the pirate. Might not be especially balanced so possibly more frustrating than fun, thanks for feedback!

Ports Ahoy! The Age of Trade by Literal Games 2014-08-27T16:08:00

Good point, definitely needs to be clearer on a number of levels: Port creation, Privateer management, pirates maybe, etc. But glad you enjoyed it!

Ports Ahoy! The Age of Trade by Literal Games 2014-08-28T18:11:00

Thanks Samuel, we did consider a number of your suggestions, haha. Thanks for all the feedback everyone! You're right DragonXVI, if we'd playtested properly we;d have found out that the nodes aren't very clear, and would have maybe made the path 'snap' to nodes easily.

Ports Ahoy! The Age of Trade by Literal Games 2014-08-29T21:28:00

commodoreKid - I'd love to keep working on this game, we had so many stretch goals we'd have loved to have put in if we'd had longer so we got lots of ideas!

Dr - we didn't have much time to balance, so it's not too hard! Good point about the menus. And you're right about ships going through ports - they can be used as waypoints, its only the end and start that matter!

Ports Ahoy! The Age of Trade by Literal Games 2014-09-03T22:14:00

Thanks Lars and markus (glad you liked the art, drop shadows make things much sexier!) You're right Lars, it all needed balancing, like to reduce the amount of money you get from Europe and to entice you to make trades with America, but glad you liked the foundation!

Ports Ahoy! The Age of Trade by Literal Games 2014-09-06T08:41:00

Thanks SK16!
Retro - I'm not entirely sure I know what you mean. When you make a trade route the distance and gold of that route does appear at your cursor position! Although maybe you're right that we didn't need the pop up, as the information about how much it will cost is already there.

Asteroid simulator by crazyrems 2014-08-31T11:58:00

Cool, could probably do with nicer controls, maybe just sending the asteroid in the direction the player is looking? However, nice original concept and good execution

Heaven with Hell by Kyle Mac 2014-08-26T23:35:00

Nice, cool character movement and I think your right that it needs something more, maybe another mechanic. I liked the concept though, and the graphics have a strong foundation for a compo entry; I could see them getting really good with some work because they have a nice feel about them.

One criticism is that unless I'm missing something then it isn't actually possible to get all the stars, since sometimes your characters happen to be crossing in the middle instead of at the top of a wave, which is frustrating, although increases the difficulty to a good level.

Oh! One thing I really liked was the score system and name input, which was great! I don't think it added much but somehow really helped my enjoyment. More games should have that feature!

Matters of Perspective by nesis 2014-08-30T10:43:00

Cool concept, well implemented although I'd add more clear indication of what's a wall and what isn't when in 2D. Overall really nice, especially for a compo entry!

Fusion by TGL 2014-08-26T23:43:00

Cool concept, feel like the levels should be smaller and maybe add more types of objects/enemies to add more variety and more interaction between worlds. Other thing I would do is just make it about 4x faster. Faster is funner! Nice little monster sprites and I liked the character too!

Fusion by TGL 2014-08-26T23:44:00

Also that title screen image is sexy, I'd stick to those minimalist visuals next time, could turn out looking great!

Odyssey by voidqk 2014-08-31T10:38:00

Awesome game, good job!

Four Worlds by MrJavaFrank 2014-08-26T12:22:00

Interesting idea, quite tricky sometimes but overall good game!

Yocast by HuntTheWumpus 2014-08-31T13:10:00

Really enjoyed this entry, one of my favourites actually. Spent too much on boost so I couldn't reach the other planets in the late game, haha. Good job!

DISPARATE by Hoopsnake Games 2014-08-27T15:09:00

As others have said it's super hard by yourself, but it seems like it would be super fun with a second player!

Boulevard of Broken Themes by Thingo Studios 2014-09-05T22:49:00

Really funny and very different. I felt super chuffed with myself when I worked out the under pressure puzzle.
I did only realise you could press Space to shoot in the space levels after dying repeatedly. Oh well.

Awe by Oddly Shaped Pixels 2014-09-03T22:12:00

Nicely done! Personally I preferred playing without your description, figuring out the gameplay on my own after being linked to it by Rock Paper Shotgun (congrats!)

Jane Austen Versus Slug Lord by hexagore 2014-08-27T11:46:00

Ooh, manages to be more fun once you realise the severity of the punishment for clicking incorrectly, since you have to get every click correct

CAVVE by Zupoman 2014-08-26T12:17:00

Very solid platformer mechanics, I found it quite hard though! Good job.

Impact by fallingBear 2014-08-27T10:33:00

Really really nice graphics, and the shots coming from the side really added another 'dimension'! (I'll see myself out)

StarGrab by foodzilla 2014-09-14T21:50:00

This is a good base of a game, and could definitely be fun if expanded upon!

Shattered by guimonpa 2014-09-08T13:07:00

Nice mechanics, managed to play through the whole Jam version and was really impressed by the feel of the character!

Battle of Khe Sanh by SuperChihuahua 2014-08-27T12:08:00

Some nice ideas, although isn't clear enough, or fun really. Difficult to even know where the enemy is. So maybe change up the gameplay. I love the idea of little ant-sized people running around into each other, with mini explosiosn and stuff, with upgrades with a simpler system where you can buy buildings and generate units from them instead perhaps. Either way, nice concept, should have been implemented better. I do really like the modelling though, has a nice colour scheme and is simplistic enough to be clear

Connected Words by Sophie Houlden 2014-08-26T13:43:00

Cool little thing with very nice effects! Love it.

Trade routes by Shivur 2014-08-26T13:59:00

Fun! I found it a little unclear how trade routes worked at first, but once I figured it out then building a little trade empire was cool!

Grave Gravity by Jaenis 2014-08-26T19:08:00

Fun, inventive game - well done!

Stanley Squeaks and the Emerald Burrito by Two Scoop Games 2014-08-26T13:10:00

Loved the hamster but the gameplay was rather repetitive

This Little Piggy... by InfectionTeam 2014-08-26T15:03:00

Wow! As you can tell by all the comments, this is great fun!
First time I played through the number of invaders bugged out and I couldn't finish but the second time it worked fine

Dwarf Portals by Barink-social 2014-08-27T12:28:00

I couldn't seem to attack with rightclick or leftclick, not sure why but after I relaunched I couldn't seem to move or anything either. Keep at it though, if it's your first entry then you've got plenty of time to improve!

zombies you Going down by joylessSnake 2014-08-30T21:16:00

I really like that the bullets go through enemies, makes it much more tactical and fun! Not bad!

Two Worlds One Life by Phaix 2014-08-27T10:44:00

I really loved the graphics and animations, and everything else was very smooth and polished - would have been nice to be able to see quicker which world was active though.

The Grand Quest for The Potato Salad by Suvidriel 2014-08-28T18:29:00

Cool, far too big though and could have done with maybe an armour system or something, more loot's more fun! Good sense of humour though, I laughed multiple times, and the game works well!

Two Worlds by Sargonius 2014-08-27T12:48:00

I'd make it a bit complicated but it's a great foundation! And surprisingly engaging considering it's only text!

Starpiercer by Schrodinger Games 2014-08-31T11:53:00

Could have some more depth I suppose, but it's technically very impressive! Possibly not clear enough that the aliens give you more lives, but crazy polished for the time limit, well done!

Link'emAll by bobombe 2014-08-31T12:17:00

Awesome! Love the balance between relaxing and panicking! Took me a while to get it, but once I did I had a lot of fun. Got all but one planet done then screwed up and rage quit, but I'll be back to try and finish!

Space Delver by commodoreKid 2014-09-01T16:54:00

Wow, keep working on this, could easily turn into a full game! Couldn't figure out how to refuel though, but had lots of fun, especially with the tricky space flight!

Intranet by bluemaroo3 2014-08-26T14:20:00

Wow! Fantastic story! Made me sweat! If you were to change anything I'd add something to make it clearer when the player is meant to select a single dialogue rather than wait for a response, since that was the only bit that was slightly confusing. Didn't affect the story though, which had some brilliant ideas and makes the player feel like the decisions are really important!

Brilliant job, one of my favourites so far!

Lux in Tenebris by LuxPerpetua 2014-08-27T16:06:00

Graphics are brilliant and complement gameplay. Gameplay's innovative and fun, building tension all the time. A little buggy, mouse appeared sometimes, lights flickered a bit, and it wasn't particularly clear that I had to light crystals to survive at first. But I love the persistence in each level.
I could see this being a game I'd pay money for if it were expanded upon!

Corrected Words by swistakm 2014-08-29T12:53:00

The little command prompt thing comes up, does some stuff then disappears... Then nothing else launches? If you can fix it that'd be great, since I've been looking forward to playing this! (Windows)

Control by Wesley Ding 2014-08-31T12:58:00

Nice to see something made in Scratch, haven't seen much of it before! Interesting concept, not sure whether or not it's fun but interesting nonetheless!

Cranesym by Gametery 2014-08-26T13:09:00

Really fun game, though difficult to survive the first couple of runs. Fun graphics and music!

Bolt by pxlcoder 2014-09-14T21:31:00

Interesting puzzle mechanic, although I did end up randomly clicking a lot of the time.

The game feels very polished, I loved the menu animations and the juicyness of the buttons, and the art style is just what it needs to be for this kind of game. Great work.

Ludum dare entry #1 by SomeGreenGoo 2014-08-26T14:43:00

Nice concept, although I never found any green things despite killing some baddies. I'd make it easier to kill baddies (using 1 spikes) and more likely to give those potions! Quite satisfying building stuff though

The Erithacus Link by PinkNinja 2014-08-26T13:02:00

from the image i thought "Is that Jumanji?" I was disappointed.

Gravity by kaitokidi 2014-09-10T23:48:00

4 hours!? Awesome for that amount of time, well done! Surprisingly engaging and fun for a quick game

Swich! by swich 2014-08-26T14:26:00

Cool! Made my brain hurt at first but I think I got the hang of it. It's a little annoying when the jumper jumps automatically and dies because of it but other than that this was fun. Clear gameplay and graphics!

Boy and Dog and Mysterious portal by Halfbus 2014-08-26T12:51:00

Can't seem to get past the second puzzle, couldn't figure out how to do the dogs part with the >> symbol? Other than that, seems really fun! Enjoyed the co op gameplay!

Space Age by john111898 2014-08-30T22:23:00

Need to work a bit on menus, confirmation is dull for every tile, and the menus don't need to be hidden behind buttons, maybe under tabs instead so you can have 'iron age' open for easy tile selection for example. Other than that, nice job! Cool little resource building game!

Equal But Opposite by Whoosy 2014-09-09T09:33:00

Simple but fun! Good link with theme.

Intergalactopol by prophile 2014-08-26T14:34:00

It's not very clear at first that the mouse controls where you shoot. Cool game though, very arcadey and should have a score counter! Nice music too, really suits the game

Corponnected Ltd. by Wan 2014-08-28T17:53:00

Cool, very intricate!

Saturation by locknic 2014-08-26T13:33:00

Fun looking game, nice style!

LD33 — You are the Monster

Escape From Twump Tower by 01010111 2015-09-14T15:48:00

Fun little platformer, I liked the ways you could use the boxes and enemies and everything!

I Spy (A Ghost!) by OmarShehata 2015-08-25T13:07:00

That was really good fun! A really innovative and different game, very refreshing and fun to play! We didn't have any network bugs either. Very well done!

Survive The Cuteness by emongev 2015-08-25T13:34:00

First point: That's a massive download! Is there anything you can do about that?
Other than that, it was cute! It was very very hard though.

Monster Factory by UntitledQ 2015-08-25T14:25:00

I was wondering if anyone was going to use Monster energy drinks. Nice take on the theme and interesting idea.

I AM THE SUN by primaerfunktion 2015-08-27T15:36:00

Funny kind of "end" if that's what the final text was. Nice graphics and made me think, very impressive

Terror Bird Feeding Frenzy by jwin 2015-08-29T11:26:00

Fun, would have been cool to have more levels if you had time! Only because it was fun enough to want more!

Milky Helps People by reheated 2015-08-26T09:52:00

Wow! A really great entry. The puzzles were just on the right side of challenging, and the story was fantastic and funny. Really great job!

The Egg by S0rax 2015-08-25T15:28:00

It was a little unclear what to do, and a bigger window would have been helpful. It also wasn't clear when monsters were selected or not. But it's an interesting idea nd could go further with some work!

Separated by rxi 2015-08-29T16:49:00

Interesting, some of it went over my head a bit, would have enjoyed having a goal but then I suppose that's not the point. However, really nice sound and graphics, very polished!

Horrifying Human Hunter by Moist 2015-08-25T03:43:00

Nice, fun little game! Feels good to run around and jump at people

The Monster Inside by Random Seed Games 2015-09-14T17:51:00

Wow! Very nice story. The writing was great, the art was fantastic and the audio was sublime! Really channelling some L.A. Noire there.
The ending was a bit... I'm not sure. It would have been nice to have some more hints as to why they could get sucked into mirrors, or more about the monsters. I got a bit confused about why they needed the 'seed'. And as others have said, it would have been good to have slightly more interaction.
Apart from those two tiny niggles though it was fantastic! Great job.

Lil' Drake by bombjack 2015-08-31T19:18:00

Great mechanic, really fun! Simple and challenging, really liked the way that the buttons stayed pressed when you died, meant it was less frustrating.

KAWAII KAIJU by little_polygon 2015-09-11T18:22:00

Cool little demo, worth making something further! I found the flashing white every time you attacked a little annoying, but other than that it's a solid proof of concept!

Death Mettle by Lianne Booton 2015-09-14T11:29:00

Very nice music! The gameplay was kind of hard to understand, especially how long you had to kill people, but otherwise solid entry!

Cataphilla by Pomb 2015-08-29T17:29:00

Nice, really fun and great how the sound builds!

Tactical Superiority by HuvaaKoodia 2015-08-26T16:04:00

Nice little demo I guess. I like the Mech!

Consumption by Aevek 2015-08-25T03:39:00

Awesome! Graphics are great and it's got loads of features for a LD game. UI seems a little buggy, but other than that great entry!

Employee of the Month: A Binary Story by dcolgan 2015-09-14T13:19:00

Wow! A really rich and complex story. Loved the references to 1984. Really great work!

Seven.Eat.Nine. by thatwhichis 2015-09-03T14:43:00

Haha! Funny take on the theme. Very hard to see what's going on.

Monster Companion by Leuthil 2015-08-25T13:48:00

Cool start. If the controls were a little tighter it would be great!

Holy Fenrir by NIGIC 2015-08-25T03:54:00

Cool, really old school! Didn't go on for too long either, wasn't sure how much content there might be!

Alien Plant II by internetpaulicy 2015-08-26T16:33:00

A little slow but cool, with nice graphics. Really good powerful feel to the monster

VINDICTAE by Pickens Inc. 2015-08-25T15:36:00

This is the hardest game I have ever played. It was strangely addicting

The Loved Ones by Stending 2015-08-26T16:12:00

Wow! Even though there wasn't a lot to do, the simple way the story was presented was fantastic! The music and sound effects were perfect. Really great job!

Gojira-Chan no Densetsu by Rongefilet 2015-08-25T02:26:00

Fun little game, could do with expanding a bit. Graphics are gorgeous though, really nice!

No Credit, No Problem! by Razoric 2015-08-25T13:28:00

Very funny little game. Nice work! It would have been nice if there was some other way to lose, like a time constraint, but other than that it was very good!

Loch Ness Monster : THE GAME by Darius 2015-08-25T13:40:00

Loved this! Great music and pretty funny!

Succubus by ReactorScram 2015-09-14T23:23:00

Very nice little shooter! It would have been nice to have another enemy type or something, but what you had was very tight and nicely polished! Well done!

V8000 AD by DanteDouglas 2015-08-29T11:31:00

Cool, seems inspired by Mad Max, which is great! Enjoyed the music too, gave it a nice mood along with the sepia

Delicious Cortex by deepnight 2015-08-25T12:43:00

Very nice, turned out to be more tactical than it seemed at first!

Ghost Duck by chikun Dev Team 2015-09-14T12:18:00

Haha! Best use of the theme I've seen so far. Ghost duck! Who'd have thought.
I found some of the stuff you had to so was very unintuitive, but I guess that's how these kind of point and click games are. It was hard to find the items in some of the rooms too.

Pavorman by robodylan 2015-08-25T12:19:00

Great idea but quite tough to play due to density of targets and I couldn't seem to find the right scariness most of the time!

Mobs, Inc. by Pietro Ferrantelli 2015-08-31T19:29:00

Great fun, really nice gamefeel, and really satisfying! Nothing bad to say about it, one of my favourite entries, loved the artstyle!

Intergalactic Love Machine by Slothmachine 2015-08-25T22:50:00

A monster dating sim. I didn't think I'd see the day. Really lovely visuals!

Pok Pok Roarrr! by Dikkop 2015-08-25T16:31:00

I'm not sure how the first level is winnable, you can't get to the bread without the chickens killing you, but the graphics are great!

Death from above by Delicious Code 2015-08-25T04:02:00

Bit buggy but the slow motion stuff is crazy cool when it works! Might need some more polish, but the actual gameplay was satisfying

Human Within by lucienpro 2015-08-27T11:21:00

Cool, we really enjoyed your entry, just the right difficulty!

Gravity Snake by lessmilk 2015-09-01T16:55:00

Very innovative little puzzle! Could have done with some slightly harder levels, but the ones there were were very fun. Good job!

Stealth Yeti by cottontrek 2015-08-30T14:56:00

Cool, really difficult but super polished and very enjoyable

Death of a Lich by managore 2015-08-31T22:25:00

Nice, quite tricky though. Loved the graphics, and the archers were the best bit, since they could often be killed without being damaged

Camp Starvation by Double Zero One Zero 2015-08-26T18:24:00

Nice, end game is a little slow once everyone is dead though, since there's no option to do anything. But one of my favourite entries!

Soup by JoshDBB 2015-08-25T03:21:00

Nice controls, and really enjoy the different graphics modes

Quarantine by BoskoSokolov 2015-08-25T14:41:00

Nice little upgrades game. Would have been nice to have something else to do other than just run after people, but good work!

Really fun, great idea. Decent game feel as well

It seems like you've got a good start here. The feel was really nice, and the context was good.

Gammonster by sikosis 2015-08-25T13:21:00

Fun little game, would be nice if there was some choice involved though.

A really fantastic entry! Fantastic graphics and I loved the Shakespearian-esque dialog!

Meet the Monsta by Schrodinger Games 2015-09-14T16:06:00

Really innovative controls, good humour and overall very fun! Love the handmade feel of it!

Hammer Destroyer by tmpxyz 2015-08-26T16:17:00

Nice model for the character! Could do with some more polish and levels and it would be a pretty cool game, people would probably pay for it!

Anxiety : Last Night by Maxi and The Gang 2015-08-27T16:18:00

Good voice acting, which is really hard to do. Great graphics and full marks for mood as well!

1-800-Monsters by ponywolf 2015-08-25T15:06:00

Great entry! The idea and the graphics were fantastic! It was quite hard to push blocks sometimes, so maybe look into a nicer way of doing that?

A Quiet Night on the Moon by Maxr00 2015-08-25T14:13:00

Nice take on the theme. It would have been good if the gravity was a bit more or you could accelerate faster though!

GROWL by Ulydev 2015-08-30T17:01:00

Great entry, consistently fun!

The Devil's Daughter by SinclairStrange 2015-09-14T11:15:00

Wow! Extremely impressive work. I loved the particles and the persistence, really great game feel!

They Look Like Ants by Tortoise 2015-08-25T12:47:00

Funny and weird! Pretty impressive for one day. You should definitely add some kind of goal system

Neighbourhood Rampage by Coomzy 2015-08-25T16:44:00

Could have been more clear how to win and where humans are, but a cool start. The destructive scenery was very satisfying

Some Knights Left by farwyler 2015-08-29T17:48:00

Nice, great visuals, and sound. Loved the little narrator character as well, that was really innovative!

Ran kind of funny on my computer, with graphical glitches

Hitogochi by OnionBlaze 2015-09-05T18:00:00

Cute, played through a couple of times to see different choices and really enjoyed it!

The Bear Hunter by Devark 2015-08-27T15:41:00

MadMonsterMassacre [MMM] by AwesomeAlliterationAlliance 2015-08-25T02:41:00

Nice, love the graphics! Thought it was really funny too!

Birdy Bridge by LastLeaf 2015-08-30T16:19:00

Cool, nice story telling piece and an interesting mechanic that could maybe use some work to make it a little more forgiving. But impressive work!

Eat Humans by BoyWithStick 2015-09-15T00:31:00

Funny little concept! Nice idea with the people getting more points for the specific attack, but could have been more clear why. Good work overall though, and great sound effects!

Home Alone: Ozzyla by TajamSoft 2015-08-25T12:54:00

Cute little platformer! The enemy cat could be a little more interesting rather than just running at you

Youkai by Nibble Bits Studio 2015-09-14T15:20:00

Nice, really difficult to build a combo though, although maybe that's the idea. Cool graphics, and lots of fun!

Maiden Voyage by ProgrammerSteve 2015-08-25T14:54:00

Really great animation. Took me a while to realise I could double jump!

Monster Farm by Heissayen 2015-08-25T02:53:00

Cool idea! I like the little animations for each attack! Visuals could be more useful like showing cooldown. The monsters were cute!

Project Box by klbrazil 2015-09-05T18:03:00

Nice mechanics, I feel like if you fiddled a bit with them a bit and changed it so it was music-based then you'd have a cool rhythm game!

TRPG-like by ldds 2015-08-25T03:50:00

I wasn't entirely sure what was going on. A small tutorial would be nice, but it looks like a good start on a strategy game!

Natural Distortion by Null DIES 2015-08-25T03:33:00

Really like the polygon style, even if it's a little tricky to tell what to hit and what to avoid. Feels like it could be expanded further!

The Sacrifice by foxboard 2015-08-29T16:34:00

Tricky, it was difficult to make decisions! I felt as though I didn't have much impact on the eventual outcome, but I suppose that was the point. Incredible visuals and audio, so full marks for those and mood!

Harvey, Dean, and Pete's Terrible Adventure by GenericTeamName 2015-08-25T03:43:00

The isometric style of the art was super nice! Controls could be a bit janky at times, but overall it was nice!

Free Hugs Kraken by crucknuk 2015-08-26T16:26:00

Cool idea, It would work pretty well on mobile if you used touch to control both tentacles

Ferris by Koba0100 2015-09-01T22:45:00

Fun little entry! It bugged out a little at the end with the boss fight, but I had fun running over the little people with my giant wall of death!

Pushy Monster by anarbitrarymustache 2015-09-01T22:29:00

Nice concept, shame there weren't more levels. Could become a fun game!

Sly Slime - Revenge On All Players by reckhou 2015-08-26T17:27:00

Nice, could have had a clearer crosshair, but it's got great viduals and a really nice soundscape!

How I Learned To Stop Voting And Love The Devil: Tales of Occult, Blood and Metal in Drop D by shinD 2015-08-26T10:00:00

Haha, you weren't lying when you said it was dumb ;)
Nice work though, a funny little entry.

The Supper by jrhee 2015-08-25T15:19:00

Nice style, bit tricky to charm people though. Maybe it should be easy to charm people when they are sperated from the others

Get out of my house! by Vladirien 2015-08-26T16:52:00

Fun, could do with a little more depth though. It was pretty well balanced too!

Jamie Oliver: What's Cooking? by BOBANY 2015-08-29T11:03:00

Very funny, and silly! Enjoyable, and you definitely have enough skill to make a more fully featured game next time!

Me by jofra 2015-08-29T16:19:00

Strange, not really a fully featured game but looks and sounds fantastic, which I think is what you were going for. Pretty cool and abstract!

Mighty Dune Worm by mcccclean 2015-09-14T11:22:00

This was the first game I played this LD, but since we hadn't submitted when I played I couldn't rate.
But anyway, real nice interpretation of the theme! I loved the fact you could help or hinder the villagers. The controls were tight, and the camera worked perfectly. I just wish there was more to do, but I guess you know that already!

Prowl by HThomson 2015-09-05T16:17:00

Great mood, tentacles are fantastic, really elevate the game

Manifest Destiny by superfreak 2015-09-14T13:03:00

Interesting use of the theme! Loved the floating island graphics.

Stay Away From My Coins! by redzero 2015-08-25T15:58:00

Fun to start with bu gets a bit repetitive and mashing shoot can be a bit painful. Cool sounds, and fun idea

Aliensche! by HiVE interactive 2015-09-14T14:41:00

Wasn't quite sure how to stop the missiles, but apart from that it was fun! Liked the graphics and simple mechanics!

Hide, Mr. Hyde by glimaleite 2015-08-25T14:32:00

Really interesting stealth mechanic! Nice take on the theme, a very solid entry.

The Mammoth: A Cave Painting by inbetweengames 2015-08-29T11:19:00

That was nice and polished, although really really sad! Enjoyed the way storytelling was integrated into gameplay

Truth be untold by pseudavid 2015-09-02T14:00:00

Really in depth and intertwining story! I'm really impressed with all the content. The writing wasn't bad either!

Evil Papagalli by folex70 2015-08-25T13:13:00

Nice start! Fix the controls and the sliding and you could have a good game here!

Almost Heroic by xvw 2015-09-11T18:42:00

Wow, really fun entry! Got wacky at the end too! Liked the fights, thought they were just the right difficulty. And impressed at the music and presentation of it all!

REVOLUTION by dacharya64 2015-08-26T17:01:00

Some more flavour text would be cool, but fun to see how it played out!

Who's the Monster! by TeamCosmitronique 2015-08-25T02:49:00

Nice visuals! It wasn't totally clear how you were meant to use shuffle at first, but pretty fun!

Cursed Hunter by DANGER 2015-08-25T03:16:00

Nice mood setting, not sure exactly how to progress other than just killing deer, but it's pretty too!

Dude, Stop by Patomkin 2015-08-25T14:04:00

Really funny! Lots of fun being a terrible person

Bunny Inferno by Stanleys_Stoop 2015-09-14T15:54:00

Nice, simple but quite polished. I really like the graphical style of it and was surprised at how fun it was!

Sunset Monster by dregamr 2015-08-30T16:08:00

Graphics were great, and the build up of your attacks is really cool! Kind of wanted to play the bit with smaller enemies first, maybe have a whole level building to the boss?

Monstrosity by celsyum2 2015-09-14T11:32:00

The placement of the bombs almost fit the music, but not quite. Great idea for a rhythm game though.

RGBlob by 966623 2015-09-08T16:57:00

Cool entry, and nice color mixing mechanic. With some extra work and more polish I could see this selling!

McTremson Bar by collaboration 2015-08-26T10:13:00

I loved the music! It was sometimes quite hard to find out what to do, though.

Monstre de Coiffure by Patacorow 2015-09-05T16:14:00

Great game, brilliant idea and fantastically well executed! 5 stars!

Melody Muncher by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2015-08-29T17:02:00

Incredible sound, but also a really nice build up to the final couple of levels. Great entry, fantastic polish for any entry, let alone the compo!

Hero's Quest by GFM 2015-08-29T17:15:00

Cool, really tricky though. Like the graphic style a lot!

Monster - Your Worst Is Our Best by Ellian 2015-08-25T03:00:00

Cool! Graphics and music are really polished!

Motherflipin' T-Rex! by mantis 2015-08-25T16:20:00

Super fun to run around and squash people! Could do with some levels or something to have something to aim for

Hell Wars XVIII: Soul Harvest by quill18 2015-08-30T15:34:00

Nice, surprisingly well balanced, so managed to get to the "end" but not without being worried I might lose. Lots of fun!

Glauron by Frozen Fractal 2015-08-26T17:14:00

Fun! Liked the art style. Tiny thing, not really an issue but something that confused me at first: space is attack and click is flap. Took a couple of goes to get used to, only becuase traditionally it would be the other way round. Had a nice sense of progression!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Adrenaline Rush by Elmeri 2020-04-22T21:33:46Z

Great art and sound! You can see where it gets its inspiration from but it's super stylish! If there were more levels, either mashed up or with a connecting narrative I would rate this very highly instead of pretty highly. Great job!

WKAM: Western Keep it Alive Mission by Aggrathon 2020-05-12T11:03:25Z

Nice! this is one of my favourites. Not the clearest UI in the world but a really nice, fairly complex gameplay loop. I was rubbish at it and could not keep the leader alive but had a really good time! Go comment on people's games for more feedback karma if you have the time before time is up otherwise you might not get enough ratings for this game to rank which would be a real shame. Great job!

Keep it Alive - the Rectangle that is by gonutz 2020-04-22T21:12:14Z

Nice, simple but effective! I like the design a lot but struggled a bit using a track pad, which is my own mistake, not a problem with the game. I liked that it was really intuitive and a mix between puzzle and quick reflexes, not many games pull of that balance!

Life of the Party by jelch 2020-04-22T22:17:22Z

Cool, I enjoyed the vibe of the writing in this one! Funny stuff and feels like a heightened version of a real party! Lots of fun little bits and choices! I think it might work a little better if the graphics were used for anything, or if you got rid of them. Like, either the camera changing places or player movement to match the hyped up music, or if you instead got rid of the 3D and either just used text or had illustrations every now and again. But the core of the game was great and I was excited about every choice I made, and it was funny seeing the results!

Volleybody by Ramperkash 2020-05-12T12:16:31Z

Super hard but quite rewarding if you take the time to keep going! I got to 4 points and then couldn't see the next fruit, but I had a good time practicing to get there. I would like to see a version of this with less-random aspects, like a proper level system rather than random fruits. With progression and a bit of work on the movement I could see this being a full game. Good job!

Peck Beach by matfernandestt 2020-04-23T13:05:05Z

Nice, it would be great to see a fleshed out version with a story! I couldn't figure out how to beat the tomato gang enemy, seemed like they were too powerful! But maybe I'm missing something. I appreciated the fast forward option once I found it, and I could see how the battle system could be expanded. Great job!

it lives and grows by JulianMH 2020-05-09T11:26:02Z

Very relaxing and impressive plant generation. Your theme is very similar to our game but has a totally different feel - I love the geometric shapes in the plants and the different growing methods. Would love to see this expanded!

Keepin' up with the Sams by chispaLBC 2020-04-21T14:06:02Z

Quite tricky to avoid wetting yourself! Funny game although I kept on accidentally missing the text because I would click too quickly on the wife, so they didn't feel like proper events. I enjoyed the weird look and you can see how it could be developed to become a full sims-inspired game with some more narrative. Cool stuff!

Toilet Paper Gardener by MaiMai 2020-05-11T19:26:20Z

This was nice once I got used to it, although I couldn't figure out how to plant bamboo... I bought a bath but it didn't seem to allow drag-and-drop from the bamboo bag to the bath. But nice graphics and an unusual theme, with good audio as well that helped convey information to the player. It would be good if it were a bit more user-friendly, which I think will put some people off but I had a good time with this one. Love the effort that's gone into the computer and the little truck that arrives, really gives it a polished feel!

The Little Bakery of Horrors by RobotsAndMuffins 2020-04-21T18:56:52Z

Quite a rush! I enjoyed the theme of this one, although it was a little unclear how the mechanics worked on my first go. On my second go I got 5000!

Evergreen by RAFFE 2020-04-29T11:36:49Z

Great stuff! The twist at the end is great although very difficult when the letters all stack up, I had more fun when the letters were easily visible! I liked the audio and graphics too, it had a really unique mood. Well done, I'll remember this one!

Wanted: Alive! by Dan Colman 2020-04-22T19:44:32Z

Great audio, very good models and animation! I wish there were a few more levels to play, maybe some with more focused zig-zagging while avoiding bullets. I had lots of fun with this one!

Leap Of Faith by ryan123rudder 2020-05-11T09:18:30Z

This was nice! Could do with some check points maybe? And the camera work was really impressive for a small game. Good job!

TOTALLY NORMAL GARDENING SIMULATOR by plufmot 2020-05-12T11:21:18Z

Nice job! I liked the silly humour and the gameplay loop was satisfying. The mechanics worked well together and nice to see a game with achievements!

Guardian Reaper by Raphiell 2020-04-23T12:45:05Z

Excellent entry! Made me laugh a lot, and I enjoyed the mechanics too. I love that it gives you a rank at the end as well, feels really polished!

What Remains of Us by Iker Díaz 2020-04-23T13:08:51Z

Cool! I like the graphics and audio a lot, they work really well together. Great mood even if there isn't really any gameplay. Intriguing stuff!

Bonsai by Literal Games 2020-04-21T18:55:09Z

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I think the tools/water mechanics could be a bit clearer, it's tricky trying to communicate all the info. Glad you enjoyed it!

Bonsai by Literal Games 2020-04-22T19:40:38Z

Hm that's strange, there should be audio. It seems to work for me but it might depend on your browser or something? Thanks for the feedback!

Bonsai by Literal Games 2020-04-22T21:15:18Z

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! I agree about the idea of a tutorial, clearer outlines and finding a way to encourage the player to slow down a bit, originally we were thinking about making it take much longer to grow trees and make it more of a real-time game but decided to keep it fast enough to hopefully keep people's attentions. @melomel I'm glad you found it calming!

Bonsai by Literal Games 2020-04-23T17:45:04Z

Thanks for the kind words everyone! @peterfiftyfour thanks for the feedback, I think if we were to do it again or add to it we would improve the visibility of the tree shapes, you're right that it becomes a bit tricky once you're close to done! @black-flag we worked hard on the transitions, thanks for noticing! @damienp I'm glad you enjoyed letting them grow their own way haha

Bonsai by Literal Games 2020-04-25T15:32:55Z

@mateusboga Oh cool, thanks for that! It's cool to see someone playing it live. Thanks everyone for the kind words and feedback!

Bonsai by Literal Games 2020-04-28T09:35:57Z

@jmad Ah cool, thanks for playing through the whole thing! I think perhaps the best way to solve the silence issue would be to add buttons for switching left/right to the trees next to the current one. That way you wouldn't need to zoom out into the room but could still go back to the room for a break from the music? Thanks for the feedback!

Bonsai by Literal Games 2020-05-01T13:00:29Z

@trexxak thanks so much for taking the time for this, we are super stoked that you enjoyed building your own shapes!

Bonsai by Literal Games 2020-05-11T19:16:50Z

@holysparks haha I don't think we thought of that, sorry! Good point though, I'm glad you enjoyed it in the end!

Keep the Princess Alive by Fernando Tonon de Rossi 2020-04-23T12:50:17Z

Nice work overall, it's got working mechanics and is easy to pick up and play! I'd like to see a bit more work on the "game-feel" of controlling the dragon, so that it's a bit faster but I enjoyed the handmade feel of the graphics. Congrats!

A day with Bob by monkeyDvrus 2020-04-26T10:52:27Z

Make sure you rate games so more people can find this one as well! You'll need about 20 ratings for a final rank. I really like the humour of this one! I tried a whole load of different ways to die and they kept me smiling. I do wish there was a way to undo or checkpoints because if you make a lot of progress it's annoying to have to replay the whole thing to get back to where you were, and then choosing another option usually immediately kills you! But I liked the weird abstract look and had a good time with this one. Good job!

Magic Valley by SpicyPaper 2020-04-22T20:06:48Z

Cool! I would maybe remove that GitHub link, originally I thought I would have to download from there or something. Or maybe move it to the end because I think it might confuse some people! I think the building should maybe be a bit cheaper, it's difficult to build up much stuff without having to run all over them map, which takes a while. I liked the turrets and defense style gameplay most!

Keep the Plants alive! by Bohrmaschine2000 2020-04-22T19:54:16Z

Cure little game, marking enemy spawn points is a great feature! I couldn't figure out how to switch bake to the watering mode though. Ran well and shooting was fun although only seemed to work when standing still. Good job!

Fly Trap Dash by Ben Toosey 2020-04-23T12:56:47Z

Hard game! I think I would speed up the movement a bit and maybe increase the size of the player sprite to make it a bit clearer how much it collides! I wanted a bit more of a rushing feeling to collect flies which faster movement would help with. But I enjoyed the mood and chill sound! Well done!

Where`s my Pills by colan 2020-04-24T14:25:03Z

Fun stuff! It was a proper rush with the timer ticking down. I would like to see more feedback from the timer, maybe like a sound ticking down to remind you how much time you have left? But the platforming works well and it was nice and clear how to play after reading the tutorial. Good entry!

Keep a Plant by KDgame 2020-05-12T19:55:46Z

Good work! I found it a bit tricky and I would like to see the theme of keeping a plant alive better integrated with the mechanics but it plays well. I really liked the audio too!

Houston, We Have A Problem by Steve Dragon 2020-04-22T11:31:28Z

A tutorial or introducing systems 1 by 1 would be great in an expanded version, although obviously tricky to get done in such a short timeline! I think it's a really innovative idea, and could be expanded a lot. One thing is that there's not much to do at the moment while you wait for cash, and it's a bit hard dealing with the oxygen/water. But I had a good time and ran through it a few time (and lost ). I was a bit confused about the price of the Oxen, sometimes it's cheap and sometimes it's price would be very expensive? But I liked the design and it was great having a LD game with some story, really cool!

DON`T DIE STAY ALIVE! by PenguinBob 2020-04-22T11:41:50Z

I agree about making the backs of spears not kill you - maybe just the very back quarter or something? But the music is great and doesn't get annoying, and I like the cute little penguin! I played through a few times and got 179 which apparently isn't as good as lots of players here! I actually disagree about the edges of the screen - I think it makes moving there an interesting risk, but I would make the grid bigger so there's more room to move around inside. Cool game!

The Consequences of Gardening by JMad 2020-04-28T09:52:48Z

Great job! Obviously there's a lot there and it's super impressive to even organise a team like that! Loved the music and sound design, and the mood was perfect.

The Adventures of Eggbert by BattleCat 2020-04-22T22:10:47Z

Cool, looks like you're already making the improvements that the game would benefit from! I hope you get to a finished product because this is a really cool start! Love the graphics and the sounds fit just right!

GNOME by parad0xSpace 2020-04-21T01:13:24Z

Cool, congrats on your first game jam! It would be helpful to display the instructions either on the web page or in a pause menu, since it's difficult to remember them in one go. Loved the music and the funny little Gnome!

Keep me alive #iamthevirus by Romaric 2020-04-22T23:11:00Z

interesting idea and well tutorialised! I can see the design decisions behind the turn-based vs realtime aspects and I think they work really well. The theme was well implemented and gives a real (if small) insight into the current crysis, even if it's a little strange seeing it from the virus' perspective. It all ties together well, really good job!

Keep me alive #iamthevirus by Romaric 2020-04-22T23:11:50Z

Also, fantastic audio! It's tricky to avoid annoying music in a game like this but you nailed it

Minor Inconvenience by MaxEstLa 2020-04-22T21:29:32Z

Cool! I like the way it gets harder over time and it was a really good decision to make the saws pretty forgiving. I would love to see a bit more bits added for variety Overall a really solid entry! One of the best ones I've played so far

Orbitr by Imperial Water 2020-05-12T11:17:11Z

Nice, well done! Simple but addictive. Reminds me of Super Hexagon and would work well on mobile with the simple controls and a bit more movement in the graphics. Good job!

Prince of Al Harrah by dmarku 2020-04-22T19:39:11Z

I like the graphics style of this. A bit tricky to understand, I think using some words in the tips that pop up would have been helpful! But once I got the idea I had a really good time! That last level was tricky and it felt great figuring out the solution. Very innovative!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Chicxulub by Literal Games 2020-10-06T08:54:42Z

@purrseus thanks a lot! Pico8 was a blast to work with, really glad we picked it.

@aljon thanks! We tried a few things with the scoring/difficulty and couldn't get anything that felt balanced. Time is always the limit in LD!

Chicxulub by Literal Games 2020-10-07T08:51:44Z

@ree-rolph thanks for the feedback! I agree, balancing the game/difficulty is something we thought a lot about and I think we could have done a better job. I had hoped we found a good balance with the scoring system at the end - but perhaps that should be communicated upfront.

@aless thanks! Our artist and musician will be happy to hear

@sophiemae0 thanks for sharing your score! The feedback around balance is great too. It's always hard to find time to properly playtest and balance a LD game!

Chicxulub by Literal Games 2020-10-08T08:50:43Z

@marrs thanks! Pico8 is a fantasy console that's designed as a reminder of those sort of games (but a little easier to work with!). We really enjoyed working with its limitations.

@digital-bacon thanks for sharing your score! Glad you enjoyed.

@forgeronstudio glad you liked the bosses! It was a bit difficult getting them to work with pico8 but I'm glad we spent so much time on them!

Chicxulub by Literal Games 2020-10-13T20:38:56Z

@noam-blei The name is the actual name of the asteroid! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicxulub_impactor

@avatargreggles Thanks a lot! Sadly it's only a few minutes long - we would have added more waves with more time!

@somogy Thanks!

@tricky-fat-cat I'm glad we captured that "arcade" experience. We tinkered with the difficulty curve a fair amount so it's nice to hear you thought it was smooth.

@digitalcrest thanks for playing to the end!

@slammer Thanks for the review - flow is a great feeling to find in a game!

@squidzilla 77% is a great score! Our artist appreciated being called a "pixelmaster". Our musician will accept "evil genius".

@mikoziq Thanks for sharing your score! Tonnes would definitely make more sense! We didn't think the realism through... then again, as you say, there are space dinosaurs - so maybe a tiny asteroid is the least of the immersion breaking!

@hank-ather It really did feel like cramming it in! The sprite sheet is completely filled, and we were close to running out of tokens (not that I'd been very austere in the first place though!)

@guimoliveira I hear a few people have been having an ethical dilemma about the game! Feel free to wipe out as many or as few as you want ;)

@simplepotential We hoped to get the blood pumping a bit! We often do more experimental things in LDs, so it was nice to do something a bit more grounded and polish it quite a lot.

@ic-rainbow I'm glad you found it fun! "keep it alive" - also potentially "you are the monster"!

@aimainiac We tried really hard to ensure the dinos were introduced and explained, so I'm glad you picked up on it!

@harusame thanks for sharing your score! I agree, waves 6-7 were rushed a little bit and lacked the focus/increase in difficultly of the previous waves. Thanks for the feedback!

@ltyrosine thanks for the review! a few people have mentioned their pity for the dinosaurs - maybe we drew them too friendly looking

@finntastico I think a few people thought they could destroy the dinos by crashing into them. Glad you worked out that wasn't possible! Potentially a feature we could have implemented - some kind of tradeoff between an easier wave but losing mass by crashing into them. Yes, diagonals are faster. I tried making it equal but it felt too slow when moving on diagonals, so I left it the "wrong" way. If you worked that out you can say it's a "pro gamer strat"

@linetaru thanks!

@matthewrobo The homing bullets are definitely the most controversial - we tried to tread the line between difficult and frustrating, but may have got it wrong. thanks for the feedback! We thought about crashing into dinos but worried that it might make the game a bit too easy and more about crashing and attacking than dodging.

@gamepopper Great score! Space dinosaurs was one of the first ideas we had and we knew we'd struck gold.

@nsadie 70% isn't a bad score at all! Thanks for playing :)

@f1krazy I thought I recognised your username when I reviewed your game! Glad you see you're still around  I'm glad you enjoyed the game, and thanks for the positive review of the scoring system. It's something we thought about a lot - having a difficult challenge without frustration is something we really aimed for, so it's nice that you think we hit that mark! 91% is a great score - I'll be honest, 100% was set arbitrarily at 25000kg - which may or may not actually be possible :grimacing: There's some randomness with the debris, so it's hard to work out what the actual mass is. I suspect it's possible though!

Chicxulub by Literal Games 2020-10-21T11:39:34Z

@spawncampgames thanks!

@tryston the relation to the theme is a little tenuous! but orbits are technically a loop

@honest-dan thanks so much! A "non-punishing bullet hell" seems like it should be a oxymoron but I'm glad you think it worked!

@harmadillo thanks for the positive review and for sharing your score!

@kaeveris thanks!

@satanos the video is really awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to make it and sharing it with us.

@frank-gevaerts definitely "interesting"! Ensuring everyone could complete the game was high on our priority list.

@kaafirookie thanks so much for the kind words and thorough review! We took a lot of time ensuring the hitboxes were good and fair, so thanks for picking up on that. I liked your backstory too - I never thought we'd get fan fiction written about this game

@duke 94% is one of the best scores we've seen, congratulations! Your joke about chickens is actually very apt - we designed and almost had a chicken enemy in the game! thanks for the in depth review.

@ddrkirbyisq 98% is an insane score! :open_mouth: definitely the highest I've ever seen. I'm glad you read and enjoyed the post mortem too, thanks a lot.

@reef always nice to see more pico-8 games (with very common ideas too!). Using the homing shots to hurt enemies is a really cool idea! We toyed a few times with ways you could fight back, but none of them seemed intuitive enough - maybe using the homing shots could have been it!

Mirror Mirror by Paer Strandberg 2020-10-06T19:29:38Z

Funky audio and I liked the concept of controlling two people with the same controls.

SPACE ORBIT by Guldfisk 2020-10-12T19:45:14Z

Nice idea with the gravity fields, felt quite smooth to move eventually. Music adds a lot to the atmosphere of the game. Great game!

Singularity by nsadie 2020-10-12T18:25:40Z

Really enjoyed this, great concept and nice atmosphere. Found it a bit tricky but got really drawn into it!

Wyle's Loop by Tryston 2020-10-13T21:34:06Z

Nice game! Controls were a little fiddly and I stuck to walls more than I meant to, but I really like the challenge of repeating the level with fewer and fewer abilities.

RbLoop by OaksGuard 2020-10-06T19:36:51Z

Clever mechanic - really enjoyed it even if it was a tricky!

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Light Shaft by 0uicmoi 2018-04-25T17:47:32Z

Nice, atmospheric game! Found a bug where I pushed myself up to the ladder with the trampoline platform, which was great fun actually!
