This is AMAZING! Definitely the most fun I've had playing a LD32 entry :)
BTW it took me about 50 minutes to get through the levels!
It's sometimes very confusing/overwhelming but that's totally fine by me, once you get "in the zone" it becomes manageable :)
It might be better though if you increase the field of view a little bit and/or make the camera slightly further from the player (so I can see more of what's going on).
Something I struggled with was how I change the target, it seemed that it goes through a pre-arranged list and not depending on where things are relative to me, which made it very hard to find an asteroid when I'm low on health and trying to escape the mayhem :D
Oh and I always love it when people come out with new ways to show the Credits :)
Simple but challenging.
The idea is highly creative.
The gore definitely added a shock factor to the game.
Many clones have been murdered :D
The idea is brilliant and well executed.
The game is really good in every aspect.
Well done :)
I liked the airplane spreading fake money game the best.
It would have been better if there was a way to make the 4 games related.
The bugs in the web version are unbearable.
I think if you have made the game simpler and focused on the core mechanic which is the tongue and jumping, it would have been better. The game is overwhelming with different elements.
But anyway, a good effort for a 48 hr game and please continue working on the game and post it.
I have to say it is weirdly entertaining :D
It was also challenging for me. I almost killed the orange/brown creature but I failed; so I raged quit :D
This could turn into a nice horror game, I was expecting a jump scare at every step I took, I'm not the kind of person who likes horror games, but I could imagine people liking this if it had more horror!
The idea is very creative.
The only problem I faced was that sometimes I didn't understand what to do exactly. I had to retry multiple times to figure it out.
Anyway, Great Game.
I don't know about the comments. The controls were fine for me.
The thing that bothered me was just the furniture because they were hard to move around them.
The music is good but I hated that death scream.
I really liked the mood set by this game. It is more of an experience than a game. If you could expand the gameplay, that would be great.
I really love the graphics (reminds me of Mirror's Edge, one of my favorite games of all time!), and I liked the cold emotionless voice-over.
I would suggest having more gameplay mechanics (more kinds of missions/tasks) and more kinds of things to avoid.
You have set an amazing environment with a lot of potential, all you have to do now is fill it with more content :)
(side note: I experienced a crash that happens when I explode the skull very early on, blocks/buildings hit the player's head which causes and instant crash)
Very nice concept, I like how you have to indirectly control the game, it could be very strategic.
I think the path finding needs a lot of improvement (which might be hard give the teleportation), because the dog spent most of his time trying to catch food only to fall into a portal and try again.
I like it, it is quite funny
My highscore is 94, the game doesn't seem to get anymore difficult after some time so it's more like "how long can you last before you make a mistake", and I couldn't understand what the green lines indicate (and what's the difference between the effect of the drum and the bass on the gameplay).
The sound transition is good though, and I think the game has the potential to be much better.
This game has some potential, and it's very good for a first entry and first complete game! (our game was also the first LD entry and first complete game :D)
I found a small bug though, I pressed Alt+Enter which made the game full screen so it was wider than what you designed, this made me go outside he play area and avoid all enemies, it seems that you limit the motion with the screen bounds and not the bounds you designed for, I had to go to the registry and remove the player prefs to get it back to how it's supposed to be :D
Simplicity and depth are a hard to achieve combination in a game. You managed to pull it off in your game in an Elegant way.
Awaiting for more games developed by you.
It was fun for a while and I liked the crazy idea, but it got a bit boring when I felt that I could just keep running in circles and keep slapping, maybe additional weapons (or powerups) could add some variety or maybe another kind of enemy that is actually smart and doesn't just follow you around.
The idea of the game is really great. The art is excellent.
Unfortunately, I couldn't reach the end of the game as I kept losing :(
Black Screen
One of the best games I have encountered so far.
The graphics and animation are top notch.
I couldn't play your game, didn't work for me... Don't be hard on yourself though
Great game, I knew I'd like it before playing it because our game also has 4 kinds of projectiles, but I think your attacks are more balanced :)
And I also like the simple glowing graphics, they give the game a nice feel :)
I just felt like the difficulty needs to be adjusted a bit, it started too hard for a beginner then it gets even harder quickly.
I like this double stick control, and I like the music, but I never beat the game, it's so hard, and I never managed to pull off a super sequence :D
And it took me time to figure out that only sequences with non-repeated colors are the ones that actually fired shots.
And finally, a small bug I faced, when I reset the game mid-way, I get invisible circles that count towards my sequence, I'm assuming you're not resetting all of your variables so it's left in this partial state,
My High score is 8800 :)
The game is good and is a nice way to chill. One suggestion is to have a mode where there are obstacles to make the game harder as the player progresses through the game.
The game idea is amazing. I really liked it.
Awaiting for more games developed by you.
My Highscore is 5175 :)
I like the funny concept and the solo and the rush :)
and I liked the About page :D
and the exit sound was a nice touch :)
I just feel that the hit radius needs to increase a little bit, a very small delay could lead to me missing the target and keep following him all the way to the left and wasting a lot of time :D
Oh and thanks for testing the Linux build for our game ;-)
That was such a fun game :)
I liked its humorous atmosphere.
Not bad :)
And since your main goal was to learn some programming, I think you did pretty well.
I think if you had included some music, it would have been better.
@Tortoise: We also got feedback from friends that the R ability needs a higher cooldown so you don't spam it so we'll do that. About more differences in abilities, we'll try to think of even crazier ones :)
@TeamCalcium: The words "original concept" really made my day ... actually it made my month, thanks :)
I liked the game environment. I felt immersed in this bizarre world. My only suggestion is to find a way to make the player not just run and jump fast to finish the game because I did that and won the game easily.
The game is really fun.
I don't know about the comments but the game was relatively easy to play.
The game would have been better if there were animations and music. Try to team up with an animator and a musician and publish the game. I would definitely download it and play it.
I am just getting a white screen and nothing is happening.
The game was really fun to play. Although I did not understand it at first I managed to understand the whole balance becoming a monster and a man. It reminded me a bit of Jekyll and Hyde. I think you should re-imagine the graphics and the characters... It will look beautiful!
The game's overall mood is very nice. The red lights and the low poly added to the game's final feel. However, the game wasn't fun... it misses something.... an incentive maybe... why should I kill these men? Do I get extra powers? Putting scores a side the player needs to be rewarded in gameplay when they achieve something.
I really like the visuals and how it looks. However, I don't understand what I am supposed to do. Good job on the visuals! Really good job!
That was a very immersive atmosphere!
I couldn't get it to run in fullscreen with made it slightly less than perfect (my screen adjusts exposure in a weird way), and after the fire got to zero it kept going till -20 or so which as a bit anti-climactic. If you can think of some dramatic or emotional way to end this it would be perfect :)
My highscore was 14 :D
I think it would be more fun if the movement was faster yet still easy to avoid obstacles (make things further apart).
Other than that I enjoyed it, the art-style reminds me of some old games :)
I like the concept of a growing ecosystem.
Unfortunately, I weren't able to get past the growing plants phase :(
Damn those wasps :D
The controls were a bit frustrating for me.
Also, if you can make the game have a wider viewport for desktop browsers, that would be great.
Fun concept + interesting mechanics = Awesome!!!
@guoboism: Thanks for the nice feedback :)
The sprout ... you're supposed to stand on it so it would carry you, sorry if that wasn't clear :(
Yeah we didn't have time to make a tutorial of any kind, we wanted to put key icons that tell you to press "R" and "F" on sprouts/trees and maybe just one dialog during the first level.
I'm glad that people do get the idea after some time though :)
@Jezzamon: First of all thanks a lot for your feedback :)
I'd like to point out that half of the team were actually "interns", people who are completely new to our team, so don't think about the number :D
For the graphics we decided to go with the "Gothic" art-style and wanted to make it look gloomy (dark blue lighting), but you are right about the trees they need to be much better, and we could try to add more light to the darkness somehow, for example, yesterday I made the characters' eye glow and light up the place a bit.
Gameplay-wise, we actually designed 6 levels, but when we finally integrated the final 3D models (trees, elevators) all the positioning as off and we had to readjust everything and time was running out, so we chose levels 1, 3, and 6. A part that you didn't get to see of the core mechanic is the C button, there was supposed to be places where you have to spawn a force of light on top of a pressure plate to keep it triggered as you go through a sliding door that closes when the pressure plate deactivates. There were also levels were the player was forced to go up and down a bunch of times to finally unlock things (not just up and up like you say), this one also didn't make it :(
And about the controls, yes they are weird indeed, it was a very late decision and didn't get tested, and we didn't even make it configurable from the Unity Launcher, so we apologize for that.
The levers do all sorts of things, in some cases they open sliding doors, and in the final level is *should* unlock the final elevator, but we mistakenly made the elevator activated by default :D
I want you to finish that game so that I could play it!
I love the feel of the game, I like the music and sounds and graphics.
The lighting is just very very dark in some places making it impossible to see the creatures, and I glitched through the elevator a lot (making me restart the game), but other than that, I really really like it, I give this 10 stars out of 5 for pulling this off in 72 hours!!!
Is there a way I could follow up on what you guys are doing? twitter maybe?
Why did you disable the "Humor" rating category? I wanted to give you 4 stars is that :D
Anyways, nice game for plain old HTML Canvas in 72 hours, I tried that before myself (without time constraints) and it was a pain.
Windows Defender says the exe is a "Trojan:Win32/Spursint.A" O_o
Anybody else got that?
This is the first game I give 5 stars for innovation!
I love everything about it, just put some nice music and add more complicated levels and it'll be perfect :)
How can I follow up on what you guys are doing? Twitter maybe? :)
