546! Fun idea and I liked the combos.

adsilcott 2015-04-21 19:34

Nice! I love the weapon effects and the way your height effects the music!

daredevildave 2015-04-21 21:09

Nice! Loved the music. Fun game. You should put the instructions/controls on the front page though. Took me ages to figure out how to play.

null-dies 2015-04-21 22:28

@daredevildave: I thought the "How To" button on the main menu would be enough :S
I'll put the controls on the entry page here.

cbear_wallis 2015-04-21 22:52

this was quite fun ^_^ i liked it!! I got to drop the bass too lol

orangeez 2015-04-22 16:39

I liked how gameplay is tied to music!

braindeadgeo 2015-04-22 17:29

Fun game, nice graphics and ace audio! Needs some feedback when you die!

pushmepullyu 2015-04-22 17:37

Nice work.

tortoise 2015-04-22 17:41

Cool idea, I liked the simplicity of it and the graphics. The r ability seemed on too low of a cooldown though and the differences in the abilities weren't enough imo. Cool game overall.

teamcalcium 2015-04-22 17:48

Nice original Concept!

null-dies 2015-04-22 23:31

@Tortoise: We also got feedback from friends that the R ability needs a higher cooldown so you don't spam it so we'll do that. About more differences in abilities, we'll try to think of even crazier ones :)

@TeamCalcium: The words "original concept" really made my day ... actually it made my month, thanks :)

chimerarj 2015-04-23 23:03

Good job!

prowler 2015-04-24 20:25

You opted-out the sound? Why? Okay after 2 minutes one has to turn down the music but I would have scored 3 points minimum. The game itself is a good submission for this LD and I had fun while playing it. Thank you! :D

null-dies 2015-04-24 21:48

@Prowler: We used free dubstep samples that we didn't own or make, so we felt it would be fair to opt-out of that.
I asked people on IRC and they were unsure whether the "derivative work" section in the rules apply to the jam too or just the compo :S

tughan 2015-04-26 21:20

One of the best I've tried, didn't care about the balance, just wanted to drop it :)

dos 2015-04-26 22:21

Got 1828! Pretty fun!

danidk 2015-04-26 23:06

Very nicely done, love the suspense before the drop. Makes the drop itself so much more rewarding

nidolabz 2015-04-27 15:12

Best game I've played yet! You should be very proud! I'll make a Let's Play video of this!

rialgar 2015-04-28 20:52

See me playing it here: https://youtu.be/da7OMjm2hA0

An Excellent Integration of Music and Gameplay and a very nice take on the theme. I like the ever increasing basic soundtrack that changes its pitch with the height at wich the player hovers. I liked how constantly begged to use the "Drop It!"-Ability and how the change in music made it feel über-awesome (allthough it's just a kill everything on screen). The degredation back to the normal tune could be a bit more gracefull. In fact this game would be even more awesome if the tunes changed over time, getting fuller and faster, and the game with them, rising in difficulty.

taro 2015-04-28 23:22

I felt the game needed some extra polish, particularly on juice for feedback on hitting enemies, tighter controls (fall faster, rise faster, immediate reaction), and adjustments on hitboxes. Bass in particular felt like it was really large.

I think the game mechanic is alright. It's just a matter of polish from there.

lukezaz 2015-04-29 00:27

Could do with snappier controls and the stun attack wasn't very effective, but other than that I liked it.

lamogui 2015-05-03 10:58

Sweet another music game! I like when people try to make something with the music than just following the beat.

davidb 2015-05-03 16:05

not azerty friendly. Miss audio category to rate.

null-dies 2015-05-04 11:57

azerty ... okay we didn't expect that :D
But you could remap the keys in the windows version using Unity's launcher :)
And we opted out from audio because we used free Dubstep samples that we do not own.

ultraval 2015-05-10 09:15

Original concept and fun idea!

xanjos 2015-05-12 00:55

Loved the music and the different effects of each weapon.

omarshehta 2015-05-17 17:12

I've always loved games that combine a music element with the gameplay! (It always makes me wonder, what if your score was determined not just based on your gameplay, but the quality of the music you make while playing, just an interesting thought!)

It's an overall pretty fun game! If I were to be a little nit-picky, some things you could add would be a little more feedback. For example, some sort of animation or flash when the enemies die instead of just disappearing. And when you try to fire a weapon that isn't ready yet, you could have a sound effect that communicates that it's not read.

That electric attack looks pretty epic too!
