Bubble Trubble by Jon Reid 2015-04-26T16:33:00
Completed it! Very enjoyable, interesting mechanic, nicely looking design and adorable sound effects, I dig it! :D

Completed it! Very enjoyable, interesting mechanic, nicely looking design and adorable sound effects, I dig it! :D
Really feels like an arcade game from 80s - with a learning curve of the arcade games from 80s ;D
Do they really have to be able to shoot diagonally? :D
Nice shader BTW :)
Haha, funny little game. Catches the game jam spirit very well :D
Have to save this one for some parties :)
Funny idea, cute execution!
Ahahaha :D
It's not "random dicks lelelel rotfl", it's about specific John Oliver interview with Edward Snowden. Mere idea of using that as a theme for "unconventional weapon" LD game is absolutely hilarious!
11/10 GOTY
Surprisingly polished experience.
I love how main menu works!
I love it!
Interesting idea! Link to Linux version points to OS X one - easily fixable by replacing "osx" in the link with "linux" ;)
It could make use of some less obvious logical puzzles (point-and-click adventure style), but it still turned up pretty well!
10/10 would watch world sunsetting into oblivion again
I love it!
Very fun and impressive, tough at times, but not too tough. I love it!
Awesome and fun! Seems we got some of our ideas pretty similar :)
I hope you wouldn't come up with this idea in real life :) Got to difficulty 6. Pretty fun for a fart game :D
Nice animations, they contribute to the good feel of the game a lot :)
ROCK! \m/
Simple, yet effective. For an additional difficulty you could start prepending colors to the names - but not always the same ones as visible :D
Very lovely game. Simple, yet fun idea which translates on simple, but fun gameplay. Solid entry!
Simple, yet engaging and not too easy. I like it!
Interesting concept, you should definitely work on it more. It could make use of some concept of health. A really solid entry!
Loved the game, feels really big, complete and well designed for a game jam entry. Great job!
Cool concept, gets pretty challenging.
Can't wait for 2016 :3
I'm a hacker and that's exactly how my life looks like. 10/10
Fun! Gets really tough at the city. Great unconventional weapon :)
wow!
The take on Eurovision is so realistic, from the mechanic to the music itself, it's just briliant. Instalike on Soundcloud. Tenouttaten, GOTY!
Neat idea!
It sure needs more work and fine-tuning of details, but meh - it's a gamejam, and it definitely has that special gamejam spirit! :)
Soooo cool!
Linux version doesn't have a glowing sun effect :(
There's only Windows version in the zip.
Fun stuff! Somewhat clumsy controls made it even more fun. Looks really great, but it could use some better feedback when hitting enemies - now it felt like clicking left mouse button all the time and taking damage randomly.
Solid idea, some polishing of player feedback would be nice - also, it would be cool to have the bubbles appear not only on left/right position, but also in corners - so you know if you should go higher or lower floor.
Got to 100 and got bored, could go much higher - there's nothing that stops you from pressing space repetitively and going left-right-left-right... making you basically immortal.
Haha, very cool idea, love it!
Great seed for something nice, I really enjoyed it :)
Great take on the theme :D
My opponent jumped out of the room. He couldn't handle my pillow fighting skills :)
Very cool, and IMO difficulty is just right. Love it!
950 points!
aaronjbaptiste: Ah, totally forgot to mention it anywhere: you can use SHIFT to move the target a bit faster! :)
He's a mighty rockman after all :)
For reference, on average I score around 10-15k points, while on best runs I did 22-24k so far. I made it challenging intentionally, to prevent boring and repetitive gameplay and to force player to use solo ability kinda tactically ;)
Use the SHIFT key, it moves faster then! Then add some practice and you can make it. I've just got 66225 points! :D
"(was I imagining it, or did the chords you play with the guitar sync up with the current chord of the song?)"
You weren't, they do :)
Great game! Simple, but fun :)
Work on GNU/Linux as well. Interesting "plot twist" :D
Interesting take :)
Amazing mechanic, I love it! Great for playing with bunch of friends around :D
Love the color feedback and different ghost mechanics. Looks really smooth!
Linux version doesn't work by default - you need to download https://raw.githubusercontent.com/opentk/opentk/develop/Source/OpenTK/OpenTK.dll.config to make it running (not counting the dependences - on Ubuntu it's libopentk1.0-cil, mono-runtime, mono-vbnc - would be good to mention it somewhere)
No idea if it was the patch of the fact that I changed the PC in the meantime, but it works now.
Woah, it's hard. A bit more checkpoints would be handy! Stuggling with 4/6 part now. Something keeps me playing though, so that's a good sign ;)
However, lack of mouse locking is annoying - quite a lot of time I went with my cursor outside the game window and switched focus to something else :(
I'm a cat and I can confirm this is how I spend my weekends.
Simple, yet effective, I dig it!
(although I can't really understand how it ends, I was kinda getting "Thank you for playing!" randomly each run)
You're going to dino prison for making too funny 18-minute jam entry!
SO FRUSTRAAAATEEEED
But finally made it till the end \o/ Offset on the hitboxes was annoying as hell, but eventually managed to live with it. Checkpoints would be very, very helpful though :P
This monster is so cute I want to hug it!
Level 91. Will return to it to try to make it better.
Really great entry!
Very strong message. A bit too-slow paced and could use some better puzzles, but nailed the mood and is really nicely done, especially in graphics. Good job!
All my social skills have been now replaced with a knowledge from this game.
I hope you know what you're doing!
Kinda predictable, but still fun to play till the end. Very nice looks!
Lovely one! Ended too soon, should be a bit longer :)
Hooked me till the very end - and there are still some achievements to unlock!
So hard! Meteors were too much... Yet it was beatable :)
Yes - but then you get low score for high amount of time. The point is to maximize score per second ratio :)
I've just got 43 points in 280 seconds \o/
Player movements could be done better, but otherwise it's a surprisingly nice game!
I am the monster.
Increasing level of difficulty would make it a very great game. Got bored at 53200 points and having cleaned up the queue :)
GOTY
Dude, you are a monster.
The game felt buggy for me, sometimes doing stuff I already figured out was a bit hard. Also I'd switch the screen automatically after a second or two from winning - I kinda expected it and at times just waited for myself to click :P
Otherwise, amazing idea(s), nice drawings, I dig it!
You, sir, are the monster.
Clouds interact with screen scrolling in a fun way though :D
Just when I wanted to quit it went to a boss fight, so I almost missed it! Glad I didn't :D
Hah, looks for me that after difficulty adjustments it's too damn hard :P Loved the theme interpretation :D
Confusing, but interesting - especially in graphics.
Level 7. Started kinda boring, but then became nicely challenging. Well done!
Of course, the Wilhelm scream! :D
2 minutes! Great music and fun little gameplay, I'm digging it!
Nice idea! A bit confusing interface, could use more work.
Hmm, am I missing something in the second task?
I'm doing LOADIN, LOADIN, ADD, PRINT, HALT and entered two numbers in inputs window, but I only get "Input Error". Some basic debugging abilities (like showing the line where the error happenend) would be great to have :D
I drew a heart. It was beauti-something.
Moo!
Love the art!
Phew phew phew phew phew phew!
10/10 GOTY
Interesting approach and fun minigames. Surprisingly challenging as well!
Dat Ark icon :P
Please don't mark Unity Player games as "Web", it's not web at all.
I'VE EATEN THEM ALL
(and now I'm a bit fat :c)
Fell in love with jumping animation <3
I'm digging the art!
Character movement could be improved - it's far from pleasant to go up the stairs :c Also, I just easily smashed my way with F button to the end of the game, without defending at all and not loosing much of my health. It should be a bit harder to win this way ;)
Just a friendly tip: remember to add some music next time, it's something that has one of the best amount-of-work/perceived-value ratio on jam games :D
Also got stuck at the door. Got the correct combination, but cannot go further. Something with the outlet?
Nevertheless, I enjoyed it! Nice art, the atmosphere works well and feels thought-out well. There are some minor mishaps, but I've also made a point and click adventure during a game jam in the past, so I know how hard it is to keep everything consistent :) Good job!
Mimaj The Brave (age 1) recommends this game. Eventually he died of starvation with the rest of the village at week 513 after everyone went out for an adventure, but 10 out of 10 would hunt a big deer again!
You got my attention at the Interjection!
RamessesII plus Nilux seems to be too easy though - just sent bunch of slaves to bunch of campaigns, set "vel 1" and soon got quite a lot of slaves that could be sent to more campaigns, soon got quite a lot of resources etc. Soon started to send gathering campaigns with so many slaves that they ended before automatic "current" command was executed :P
So I tried to play poorly and lose, but I couldn't :D It's now in the background tab at year 1000 B.C. waiting for Christ to born :D
Was fun to fiddle with the console though, liked the execution, and all the little nods made me chuckle ;)
I think I'll just be repeating what already has been said, so I'd like to just ask you one question.
Where is my midget porn then?
Oh crap, it is hard! I get lost with the keys all the time, and when I finally do what I meant to do, it's too slow to actually help me much - although it does become a bit easier with time, which makes me want to play again and again.
Good that you included that meet-the-controls-tutorial, it definitely helps :)
7562! \o/
Really solid entry! The boss battle glitched out for me a few times (the bomb's mess didn't disappear, but the bomb itself did and the boss didn't die) and had to start it over, but otherwise played it from the beginning to the end with basically no disruptions, kept engaged. Pretty impressing! Loved it - and I think I'll definitely look into ZZT now ;)
Day 72. Still haven't found my boat. I don't lose my hope though.
928! \o/
Pretty clean code for a quick game jam DOS game, congrats :)
[synth-poping intensifies]
Nice little game that works pretty well!
Love the ability to shoot the bird :3
My nitpick: the sounds are too loud compared to music.
(and as already said here, embed seems to be broken)
Yay, managed to get them all!
Please do finish the game, with whatever big plans you had. It was a bit boring, but still somewhat pleasant (probably thanks a lot to the music ;)). It you could prevent the feeling of being lost aimlessly wandering the maze by adding some content it could be a really nice little game-experience.
The mood of this entry is not for me unfortunately, but otherwise I loved it!
Just a word of explanation - during the development of this game I had access only to a laptop's touchpad, and it was almost impossible to play/test when I had the "hold to draw" mechanic, so I've changed it. Think about the poor souls without mice out there! :D
