I played until 85, but stopped because nothing seemed to be changing. Might make it more interesting to make it more challenging as it progresses, maybe by going faster and/or introducing more colors.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD32 → attack/defense

Loved the Seuss-like rhyme to start it all off. Is there a win condition?
Don't apologize for trying something new! You did more than a lot of people who just give up or never try.
The simple pixel art actually helps the feel of the game I think, and helps you focus more on the choices and choosing the right one. I agree with ChrisGaudino that the difficulty should probably ramp up over time.
I thought the beautiful, innovative poetry at the beginning was quite cute =)
I have to agree with ChridGaudino here though, the game certainly does have a lack of content. But considering the fact that you made this game with tools you were just learning how to use at the time is pretty impressive and makes up for it IMO.
Cool entry
I actually quite liked it, it is a bit different... In a good way. Graphics are simple but do the job very well. Overall a great entry, well done!
Congratulations on trying something new! I liked the simplicity and the weapons.
As others said, adding difficulty as the game progresses would add a lot of value.
Simple, yet effective. For an additional difficulty you could start prepending colors to the names - but not always the same ones as visible :D
Nice, I enjoyed the humor :) I enjoyed the game too. It would be nice with increasing difficulty, so that you get an ending condition. Then it is complete, a game doesn't need more :)
could have been more intersting, but still fun for a bit.
