You have to walk to the alien above you when the game starts. I wanted to have some rocks placed there so that this wouldn't happen but it never got done.
This idea is epic, the funniest takes on the theme I have come across so far. Great fun!

Nice to see an entry from you guys. And it is pretty amazing for 72 hours! Some minor issues like controls(sometimes space, sometimes return) or with jitter during scrolling on the map. But it gets the point across and it is funny :) Good job!

Pretty fun and accurate pokemon parody. I like how the humans just straight up die, no candy-coating the hard facts here :) I thought you did a good job with the framing around alien abduction that was definitely making a comment and not a joke, which is what makes the best satire. There were a few little things that I think could clean up the experience, notably when you enter the cave you very easily walk back out because you're already pressing up. If you aren't going to have the exit mirror the entrance, it can address this problem if you have a no-input state when going into/coming out of doors, to give the player a beat to reorient and realize they're going to need to switch directions. That's a minor thing but stuff like that can help a lot! Nice work.

Also, to Wertle, thanks for your insights. I actually watched your stream, glad you enjoyed it. The level design itself was a little rushed and done by our lead programmer. I did actually include an north-facing cave entrance tile but sadly we never got time to re-design the maps. Our focus was more on getting the idea across, which I think is something you hit on.

The game was alright. I found some problems with the controls being a little too stiff but it was a solid entry otherwise.
