Fireman Pissaro by AnimeGeek32 2015-04-21T15:50:00
Hehe, nice. Would have been nice with some warning or not an insta-death when touching fire, but fun nevertheless. :)

Hehe, nice. Would have been nice with some warning or not an insta-death when touching fire, but fun nevertheless. :)
Really nice! Very beautiful art and levels, and the game runs very smoothly. Would have been nice if the vampires could hurt you if they're in your face, and also that the candle challenge/bonus was announced before starting the game, not after completing it. Anyway, excellent job!
Wow! I would really like to know how it would have turned out if you had more time!
This is not the first fart game this LD, but it is probably the best and the most polished. Not really seeing the "weapon" part of the theme though.
Nice entry. I really like the graphics and idea. :) The game crashes after a while on Linux though, so I didn't get to complete it :(
You win by finding yourself? Like when you figure out you're a bastard being mean to children? Nice game. :)
I really enjoyed this game. Well done! :)
Nice narration and art. :)
Amazing work! The angle provides a really cool take on driving, and adds extra difficulty! Yaaaay!
Excellent game! Runs very smoothly and the game has a lot of detail to it!
I really like the character design. It would have been nice if it were harder/more engaging somehow though. Quite polished for a compo entry. :)
Hm! Interesting idea. The rounds are a bit long and slow, but very nice graphics. (I see you've fixed, or made it configurable at least, in the post-compo edition. :) )
I like the game quite a lot, probably because I spent a lot of time trying to get a perfect rhythm going on the space bar! It gets too easy after a few levels though, and later on I can one shot everything with a simple tap. I stopped at monster level 101 (player level ~30), with no end in sight.
Beautiful! It looks very well made. :)
Haha, very cute game :3
Would have liked a litle more sounds, but a very interesting concept and game. Exquisite work, chaps!
Nice game, but a little bit hard to figure out what to do. The music is great and the graphic are nice too. :)
Hehe. I really like the story and idea!
I like how you have to put yourself at risk to get more bullets. Very well done.
The game is pretty relaxing, doesn't happen much, but the graphics are nice and fitting music to the game as well. :)
Phew! I made it. It was really difficult, but quite rewarding. Very nice enemies. Well done!
Very beautiful.
Nice game. It is very impressive for a compo entry, especially with the nice graphics and different glowing crystals. You've managed to juice out several game play elements from something simple. Well done :)
Very nice game! I really like the audio. It distorted my friends voice over TeamSpeak, which was very cool. :)
As you said, there are a few glitches and the AI doesn't see you if you stand in the door, but nevertheless it is a great minimalistic game with a massive atmosphere. I'm not sure if a pen knife is really that unconventional, but it's great anyway.
Wow! This game is HUGE, and very well done! It was a bit hard figuring out what you could interact with, but I really liked the game. :)
Great graphics! Very Artistic :)
Haha. Minigame hell indeed. :) Very nice concept. The weapon is the game, and the joke's on us!
So, origami is the weapon? Can it be used in some way except cutting air? I kept getting stuck in pit to the left as well. But I did like the audio. It creates a nice mood.
Great game! It takes a bit getting used to, especially if you're not using qwerty regularly. Numpad could have been a configurable alternative, but that might be a bit too easy. The first stage is a lot harder than the second one though. :)
Very well done! I barely want to stop... Awesome graphics.
Woo! I made it through (the unmodified version)! I really like the art, the animations and the difficulty. The "voice" talking on the other side of the comm was a bit annoying, and I don't see an unconventional weapon (a nuke? a secret agent?), but great game nevertheless. Well done. :)
Awesome job! Just need to get the tune out of my head now... Works great on Linux.
I really like this game! I wish it was longer. xD Well done!
Nice game. The last level was a nice challenge. :) Would have been great with some audio!
Just so you know, you are allowed to fix bugs (like the audio, or the crashes). There is a text at the bottom of the page detail what you're allowed to change.
In space, no one can hear you scream, but I hope my neighbours didn't hear anything. I'm not sure that drilling asteroids can be called a "weapon", but I think it's a good game anyway!
Wow! Really nice game. I especially like the pixel art in the 3D environment, really slick.
Very chaotic and fun :)
Wow! Great game. Very challenging. :)
Really nice game. Great graphics as well! :)
Exceptional! I really liked it, especially the second level. Very well done. Only problem I've noticed is that the jam is hard to aim. :)
The Linux link is pointing to something that doesn't exist (an extra 'l' in Linux (Lilnux?) - removing the 'l' works).
Nice game! I had problems getting up to the second platform where all the weapons are though, and the boot doesn't do much.
I like the art and the concept, but not really getting the game play.
I like this game! Great concept and graphics too! Awesome work! :)
Hmm... Very interesting game. Well done! The typos detracted a bit from the experience, but that might just be me. :)
Extremely nice game with a nice aesthetic (both graphics and audio). Good job!
Snail shells? I thought it was pie... The game is really creepy and nice though! Linux version works well.
Woo! I'm a real frazzle dazzer! Nice concept, with some really nice ideas and self-awareness (jumps that can't be made are obvious, jumps that need to be made in a special way, and so no).
Nice game. The XP system gives a nice incentive to keep playing, but it is gained a bit slow though.
Nice! I was worried for a while that there was no end, but I managed to find it. Very nice graphics, too bad it lagged a lot in my web browser.
Impressive. I didn't know roombas could do that!
Nice concept, nice art, and nice controls. :) Well done!
Wow! I like the graphics and the setting. The pumpkin was a bit hard until I figured out a system. I think the theme is quite nice, but I don't understand where the bag comes from. He could have used a pillow or the camera without batteries for hitting. Anyway, well done, and it also works with Löve 0.9.1.
Hehe. Very interesting game!
Nice use of colours! The wheel helps finding the right colour to use. I was a bit confused what the different numbers meant though. I read your blog post, and you managed to get a lot done in very little time. Well done!
Wow! Am I glad I stumbled upon this entry. Well done, twisting the theme to see if it would break. :)
Nice entry, but I couldn't break the forcefield though! My friend and I tested a few times, but we both ended on 0 (or 0.01) points.
I really like your art, it's very nice! The game is fun too. ^^
I really wished I could reach the end, but the RNG made it too hard. Very well done!
Hahaha, this game is so weird and funny. I like it xD
Great game with very nice graphics! It's a little bit hard to figure out what to do but I really like it. Well done! :)
Very cool game, with beautiful art and even an intro! The visual queues (where you're hitting and stuff) seem a bit off, and I can easily get stuck and not go where I want. Nice that you have different difficulty levels as well. :)
Very cute and fun. Getting to choose a level is quite nice, as the first ones were a bit too easy for my taste. :)
I guess it gets a lot better with more than two players, but it was fun trying to juke the other one and placing legos in their path. :)
Good game, I agree with trappytrap92 about the loading time tho, it's a bit slow. The graphics are great too, but am I the only one experiences that the music have a lot of bass? xD
Nice game. Very beautiful art.
Nice game. Who knew it would be so hard to steer cows in the right direction. :)
This is a really nice game. Awesome art as well! :)
Interesting and beautiful game. Couldn't quite create constellations, nor make any bigger effect on the population.
Great game. Colliding with walls was a bit annoying, but otherwise superb game.
Too bad you didn't have time to add the unconventional weapon. I guess you drew inspiration from Stalagflight (or other similar games)? Very nice graphics though!
Nice game! I like the concept. The sounds and the art gets you into the mood pretty good. Well done! :)
Hmmm, the jump seems broken.... he fly up waaaaaay too far. xD Would be nice if you have some instructions for the game.
Nice job! I won't be eating nuggets for a while after this...
Fun concept! I enjoyed the game. Like the idea of pigs got fried and turned into bacons xD
Nice! I enjoyed the game :)
Hehe, I like the puns and the concept. Couldn't get past the second save point on the web version though, due to collision problems (platforms not registering as floor).
Great game! I didn't quite catch what the goal was until I ran out of plates to shoot at customers, and found the food. :)
Forgot to mention that the Linux link is a bit borked (double paste?), but the second address worked well.
I really dig the art and the atmosphere. The web version didn't seem to have any health? (My guy was immortal, it seems.) Good job!
Good game! Those pesky raccoons are making things hard. The cats are pretty self-sustained also - we just think we're influencing them, but they just do what they want, just like in real life!
I like the flame trail in the menu, and the game does fit the theme.
Cute and fun :3
Thanks for the feedback! I have a really big problem balancing games, especially after I've played it a few hundred times trying to get it to feel and look right - I could probably play it in my sleep by now. I should probably get some more play testers before submitting next time. :) Also, it doesn't help that I like games with a high "skill cap". Not very suitable for LD when people only have a few minutes for each game.
It takes a while to get used to the jump distance and timing, and thinking about a colour and jumping at the same time is the kind of challenge I liked to include! :) Good suggestion to build up the colour variation gradually, though!
boateye: never seen that happen. Shouldn't be possible, unless your computer experiences a serious lag spike at the exact time of the jump!
Thanks Windmill for including us. I'll give the other games there a try. I think your Valo/Varjo game should definitely be on that list though. :)
The difficulty is "sloped" a bit, but it does start too high, and the jump is a bit hard to get right, especially on the lower speeds. I do want to change this since everyone is having the same problems, but it's not really a bug, so I'll add a disclaimer, to warn those that are not prepared. :)
I added a Tips section which might help out a few people. :)
I didn't manage to reach the end :[ Nice graphics and concept.
Very beautiful game with a nice atmosphere. I had some trouble getting past the robots though. I pushed some into the fire, others I locked into a room, but they kept hurting me too much. Hope you had fun creating it. :)
Nice idea! I like the little ring and the dialogues.
Cute idea! I love them cats. Are the cats used as weapons or is it the bomb dispensers that are the unconventional weapon? The game would have been great with some objective/meaning in it, except just getting to the exit. I can imagine that the time ran out though. Great job anyway! :)
Very nice concept and game play.
Could barely shoot on Linux, which makes the game quite hard. It looks and sounds amazing though!
A bit confusing with a lot of things happening at the same time; multiple keys, special things to attack with, all while bullets and enemy ships are flying everywhere. Nice game though :)
Love the visuals! Pretty nice game too :)
That noise! xD The game has a nice concept tho :)
Nice game, the graphics are pretty good and the story starts pretty interesting too. Like sugarbyte commented, I'm not sure what the unconventional weapon is in this game.
Interesting game, well done! :)
I smiled.
Very nice game! The web version was a bit laggy at later levels though, but it does run on Linux.
Cool game. Very good atmosphere and fits the theme very well.
Wow, what a great game!:D I went berserk on everything! XD
I got negative salary. What does that mean? :[
Adorable game! :D I just wanted to deliver pizzas... but cars and buildings just came in the way.
Ironic indeed. Great entry.
Pretty solid entry. Wish there were some actual voices and sound!
Well done! The game is very fluent and nice. I especially like how you only have two arms on each side to hit with. The eye laser seemed redundant, and it feels like the tentacles have a bit too large hitbox (can squash things from a distance). Would have been nice if you uploaded the .love file directly, since I had to download the Mac version and get it from there to play it on Linux.
Very nice story!
Quite a nice game! Very nice graphics and indicators. The only problem was that the raised dead got stuck the whole time. It was fairly challenging at times, but a bit repetitive.
Interesting concept, with nice visuals and audio. It does get a bit hard to aim, and to find and kill enemies. Knowing that you can double jump made a lot of difference too. :)
Very nice concept packed fulled with a lot of content. I liked that the "fights" got harder the more scares you already had. Although they were a bit repetitive in the long run, since there were many fights.
Nice game. Was hard to understand the "real" mode, but simple mode worked well.
Very nice concept! Too bad I couldn't get any ice cream sold to the customers (they kept getting in the way for some reason).
Interesting concept. Could have been more responsive though.
Very cute monster! Excellent game. I really liked the mechanics. Would have loved more levels and a bit of an increase in difficulty. :)
Was hard to get the speed up, steering was a bit wonky and a bit hard to see that the pieces of road missing was actually a dive downwards. Nice take on the theme with some nice graphics.
Nice game! I like it :)
Very neat concept! It was a bit hard to see or understand the changes in the pictures sometimes, but the overall idea is clear.
Cool concept. The music was good but a little bit annoying at times. Why won't anyone have a second date with me? :(
:D Damn you, Skittles! Very fun and smooth. Only complaint would be that the audio was a bit sharp.
Wow! I had hope, and it paid off for Hop! I really like that you can get health back, that you don't have to fight, and really liked the background.
Nice entry. I really liked the story, depth and different characters. The graphics (outside of fights) were very nice. The fights were funny, but not that fun.
Good concept. Really liked the graphics and the cubes. I couldn't finish the game though, because of an exception, but it was fun and inventive.
Nom nom. Would have been nice with a bit more variation or an increase in difficulty, but it was a bit hard to dodge those arrows. (Are you calling me fat?)
Quite long and polished for being completed in 72 hours. :)
Nice. Those are some high fees.
Game played well and felt smooth, except when transforming because I was frozen for a few seconds. Nice graphics and sound.
Nice game. I really liked the graphics of it. There were a lot of levels, and most seemed a bit too easy (just required standing around and waiting) while some seemed a bit too hard (was very hard figuring out how the light switches connected). Would have been nicer if it were a bit faster and if you'd had more time to polish some animations/visual cues(dying, eating, etc.) instead of adding levels. Well done :)
Very nice game with a lot of options. Starting with zero gold is a bit harsh, as well as heroes spawning everywhere, but it has a lot of depth and potential.
Pretty good. Was hard to determine where shots came from, but otherwise nice.
Man, that was a nice game. The rocks were brutal though!
Wow. Amazing work.
The monsters are always under-appreciated. :( Very nice entry!
Man, this game is amazing. I'll have to come back later to play some more. The only thing I think should change is having different responses from the CEO. Being told to get back to work when you're actually being fired is a bit heartbreaking.
Good concept. :) Too bad you ran out of time!
Very nice game, only wish I didn't have to go through all of them when I fail. Very funny with nice graphics. :)
Would have been better if you skipped the in-depth tutorials and instead completed a single level. But interesting concept!
Heh, interesting game with good graphics. Using the mouse (and not being able to interact with things while he's saying something) really stuttered the otherwise good flow of animations and controls.
Love the story and graphics! The combat was a bit bugged (was hard choosing actions because it swapped too fast or on its own), and the font did not fit at all.
Nice game and the graphic is great as well! Good job! ^^
Since it is story driven, I wish the text didn't disappear so quickly so I had time to read it all. :[ But a very nice entry, with kick-ass visuals.
T'was harder than first imagined. :)
Heh, nice entry. I got him to cry and whimper, but not sure what the goal/end is? I really like that there are different answers and effects.
Wow... Very nice game with a lot of polish and just a lot of awesomeness.
Cute game, nice concept.
That was very nice, and very difficult. I like the delayed bit, since it means it has to be a bit better planned.
Very interesting and fun concept.
You know what they say, the first $50 is the hardest. Nice game! Must have been either really enjoyable or really frustrating to write all that bad engrish. :D
Another great game from you. The graphics and animations are just stunning, and the level of polish is superb. I felt like the dash was unnecessary, since I never used it and don't really see the point to it (didn't want to dash through the nice scenery and destruction).
That was great! I really liked the mood, story and text. Exceptional work. Only downsides were that certain characters of the font were hard to read, it was a bit hard to click on certain things, and the torch covered the text. Also, the ending was a bit abrupt, but I assume that time ran out.
Great entry! Really loved the art style, music and humour! :D
Nice job.
I really like the art style, and would have loved to have some more sound effects (when landing and tearing someone to pieces or hitting the test tubes, etc.). The pacing is a bit slow (movement wise), especially if you die a lot like I did.
Would have loved some more attack moves, and a bit more variation. Standing still and holding down space was not very rewarding. The controls were a bit annoying as well (holding down left and up made the boss only go up). Still a very nice entry and a good concept.
Hehe, interesting concept.
Very nice game. I didn't seem to be able to take any damage though. :[
NikinCZ explanation helped a lot. Visual and audio was very nice.
Good stuff. Really difficult and a lot of content.
Over a hundred shakes and the frog thing is still crying... Is it because I shook ITS Monster can? Is that why I'm the monster?! :O
Nice game, very colorful xD
Solid game with nice art and story :)
Pretty hard stuff, but manageable. The theme seems a bit tacked on, but I guess it works.
Cool game. Simple and fun. :)
Exceptional entry! Very nice environment and different experiences. Quite scary as well. :)
Hehe, nice game. It does get crazy, but I managed to get 2940. :)
Surprisingly fun for such a simple game (only two buttons). It has the feel of a rhythm game, but without the music!
I couldn't run the game in Firfox, neither in Windows nor Linux. :(
Love the graphics and audio/sounds. I don't really get the story though. Am I a monster for hunting and killing a mother?
Great game! Nice level of polish.
Really liked the game. It felt quite well balanced but still challenging.
Interesting concept. Was a bit hard to figure out what to do, and why to do it.
Man, only downside was that it was too short. :[ Well done!
Thanks for the comments. We ran out of time to add more mechanics or depth, but feel free to come with suggestions. :)
They regain energy because they're slacking!
Would have been nice with some obstacles or something making it harder to feast. Nice graphics. :)
Great entry. Really funny. Had a few problems with the camera, but nothing major.
Nice concept. Too bad you didn't have more time. :)
Great concept with very nice aesthetics, but I felt that the feedback could be greatly improved. I kept producing more food than apparently was eaten, but it still declined and I finally lost. Choosing who to sacrifice didn't seem to matter. I got a different message once (rumours have been quelled), but saw no effect.
Damn those girls! The music reminded me of a circus, which didn't really fit in, and it was really hard to get to things other than girls (opposite of real life, maybe I should try being more angry?). Nice entry altogether.
Nice idea. The screen was way too small (hard to see or do things), and the controls overly complex (why Q to shoot and not left mouse button?). Having to read a whole block of text outside of the game (story, instructions and controls) is really a pet peeve of mine. :( Would have been nice if it were part of the game (intro screen or a mini-tutorial or something).
Cool.
Really good entry. Would have been nice if each level had a goal, like X% destruction or X number of points.
Cool concept. The mood is superb. Would have been nice with some randomised levels, for some re-playability, or maybe different levels to go through or something.
Nice game! Really liked the graphics and the humour.
Amazing game! Very fun, great graphics/lighting and just great overall. Works well on Linux.
Wow! Amazing entry. Really liked the old movie theme, graphics and the mechanics. Was a bit annoying that they wouldn't go into a room to die, but I caught them all eventually.
Nice graphics and sound.
Pretty good and challenging game.
Great all around. :)
Nice entry.
I quite like the game. Some jumps were a bit hard but manageable. The enemies respawning was annoying, but it was easy to just run past them to the next moon light. The levers/blocks could be a bit more clear/distinct. Well done. :)
Excellent work.
Really nice graphics and the music fits very well. I was skipping over the nice field. The narrative felt a bit off at certain times though.
Exceptionally nice looking game. I spent a bit of time wandering around aimlessly, but very nice story and visuals.
Nice game and great graphics! Well done! ^^
Dude, nice game. I like how you sometimes have the choice to do the right thing. :)
Love the graphics. Nice mood :)
Excellent concept and very nice graphics and animations. The jumping is hard to control and the screenshake is too strong, and as others have said this game would love some sound.
The animations don't seem to go off every time, and no penalty (or notice) on doing the wrong thing. Would have been nice if the background got destroyed while pressing certain keys, instead of just a bit here and there. Anyway, good entry.
Very nice game. Moving the arms/body was a bit annoying at times, but quite fun nonetheless.
Haha, that was hilarious. It became a bit confusing when monsters started to show up with multiple eyes and mouths. :D
Very nice entry packed full with amazing content.
Intriguing game! Reminds me a bit of Papers, Please.
Very nice game. Was a bit laggy on Firefox, which was a big shame since the game is a lot of fun. Would have been nice with a "thud" sound when hitting the ground, and it took a while to figure out that I had to collect the hearts.
Great game!
Hehe, that was adorable.
I didn't find it too difficult, just that it could have used some more balancing. Good work.
Uuuh, kitty!
Oh man. It was very hard to put this game down. A lot of depth and funny text. The people didn't seem to have a lot of memory though; I could let chester feast on them one day, and then get a cup of tea the next, and things would be cool.
Wee! Very nice and fun entry.
Nice entry. Very cute and funny. The Windows download is missing a .zip extension, and had two .exe files in it.
Another great entry. It was quite challenging as well, and beautiful like always.
Wow! Really liked the game. Was challenging and humorous.
The two buttons didn't really make a lot of difference; the second one didn't really do a lot, except fulfil the theme slightly. Beautiful graphics and music though.
Very good entry! I didn't quite understand many of the faces the computer's doing though. 'n'
Love the concept and graphics. I couldn't finish the post-compo version, because I couldn't find the fourth zap thingy (the one leading into the building).
Exceptional entry. Very nice graphics and fun gameplay. Good job! :)
Very cute, great and fun entry! The bunnies though, man... the bunnies...
Pretty sweet. Missed a bit of depth though.
Very interesting concept, but it was way too easy. I could crawl up the left side until almost reaching the top. The people, cars and birds give the impression that a lot of time has passed, but I just feel that they are an annoyance. Would have been OK just to say that it was a super plant growing very fast, and keep the world moving at a regular pace.
Really nice game, i liked the shifting between right and left side.
There were some parts of the map where you could shoot the ball trough the wall and to oblivion though.
Although the style feels... "simple" doesn't feel like the right word; it's sort of pure and minimalistic, and very much charming. The music and sound effects makes me smile with joy :)
404 :(
I found the exit, mostly due to dumb luck. Very ambitious entry, and very beautiful. :)
I love penguins. Was very fun to play, and I liked the increased speed the further the game progressed.
Great game guys, different, in a good way. well done!^^
And enjoy I did! The art was very nice, and I liked the sound.
A lot of things going on, but could use some more visual/auditory feedback for some stuff.
Had a lot of performance issues; a few slowdowns and the music started stuttering after a while. The game was not very engaging. It missed a lot of "juice"; sound effects and visual queues when something happens or something was pressed. Made it feel quite stale and unrewarding.
Very beautiful game, but not really sure what I was supposed to do. The story didn't really match what was going on in the game. I was the lone survivor and all baby rabbits got eaten by the fox.
Nice game! Love the graphics. It was a bit hard with all the different things happening at the same time. Would have been nice with a short ramp-up of seeds and attacks being added and things happening. Some things, like having to have a powered attack to get a seed, seem a bit misplaced and just add more complexity. Simply put, just a bit too many controls, especially right off the bat. It's a fun game nonetheless, with a lot of depth.
I don't mind going away to do things other than gaming while there is some kind of automatic progression, but... my wee dude seems perpetually stuck to the left side :(
Beautiful game, with nice background and sound.
Very well made with nice mechanics.
Had no trouble downloading or actually playing the game.
Amazing looking. Didn't seem to have an ending though?
Nice entry. Would have liked a bit more difficulty on the later levels (perhaps less time before a timeout, or more time to transmit data). Right now it was pretty much the same on all levels.
Interesting concept. I like it a lot, but no idea what's going on. I figured out that different tiles can become other tiles, but not why, nor what the people needed or wanted.
A nice take on the theme. :) Didn't really like the "bro-talk" (or whatever it's called).
Solid idea, but not really for me. The dialogues weren't very captivating.
Cool game. The difficulty took a bit too long to ramp up (just stood there in the beginning just waiting), but it's beautiful and fun.
I liked the movement and the graphics, felt very Italian. :) That audio though, made me quite confused.
Interesting concept, we went for something similar. I like the city builder thing, and it was nice being able to upgrade existing structures. Not a lot of conflict or challenge in the game though, it was pretty much just sitting and waiting for money for the next upgrade or building.
Pretty nice game. Would have liked a bit more consistency in the art (the characters are 8-bit-ish while the flowers and birds and clouds are not).
Good take on the theme. The input problems killed it for me though. One brother would sometimes not jump when the other jumped, especially when jumping and moving pretty fast, and they would stop moving towards the direction they were previously moving when jumping, which took a while to get used to. Overall, I think a bit different levels would have been interesting (only tried the first two though, because I accidentally pressed R instead of the arrow at the finish line).
Another amazing entry. Using the special attacks (spear & ultimate) seemed to be prioritised over using the shield, which made it a hard to block every time. What's your high score?
Those were some scary bugs. Very nicely done. The collision detection was a bit too forgiving. Some bugs hit me but it didn't count. I also liked being able to push around things with the broom. Can't really say that it was a two button controlled game though.
Was a bit confusing at first, maybe something could have been made to indicate what the player is controlling.
Beautiful.
Nice concept. I had a very hard time understanding why I couldn't build some things, and which resource wasn't enough of. The graphics and the mood are amazing though.
It would have been really nice with sounds in this game. Kind of bold innovation I think. Although it's frustrating when you loose your little cube when you try to navigate amongst the debris, I think I can also understand why you chose not to have the screen follow the player vessel... an interesting design challenge. Perhaps having the screen centred on the vessel could be doable if there were a bg following the view? ...
Quite a nice entry. The refresh was really necessary, and afterward the beats fit very well to the music. Good graphics and very theme-appropriate. Would have liked a bit more interaction with the different elements, like if you missed a beat it would cut the beard (and swapping out the left arrow action), thus making it a competition for getting the longest beard.
Nice game! I like how you change sides in the middle of the game. Would have been nice with an end though.
Cool entry. Not sure what I picked up, and it was a bit "leading" (only one possible way to go), but good job.
The art is awesome! The music and mix of the art styles however makes me confused, and throws me into fits of giggling at best. One has to bear in mind that my spelling is terrible. "lains"? "ians"? ... ??
Nice entry. Would have been nice with some more obstacles, but quite beautiful and fun nonetheless.
It seems like I had about the same chance pushing someone away from the volcano as I had to push them in. A bit hard to control and have an impact, but an interesting concept which was quite fun to play. I think it fits both themes, with the growing of the volcanoes wrath (even though the monster baby wasn't too obvious).
Would have liked if it was longer. :[
Fun and beautiful game. Would have been good if it was less... random. I played for a while, but had to give up when I no longer could do any damage. Maybe you could sacrifice something (health or armour) to get a new wheel, or something.
A fun spamfest cased in bearded awesome.
I really like it, the idea and design and graphics. Was a bit hard to reach all the pieces of garbage, and the recycle stations were a bit too far apart. Would have been nice if something more happened the longer the game progressed, like faster speed or something.
Since the size of the pieces you buy is randomized early game it can either be easy peasy or rather hard.
There are two rules of thumbs that can help you at any stage of the game though. Abundant usage of the 3 and 4-way passages ensures high connectivity between room types, making it easier for the citizens to traverse short(er) distances in order to have their needs fulfilled. Second, the wee fellows are easily bored, so there must be enough entertainment rooms around.
The shame was that the village stopped growing after a while, and the only decisions left were whether to raise a farmer or a warrior. I like how the story is told though.
Great entry.
Very cute! Kitty got big, but still hungry.
I like the idea, i really had hard controlling both ships so i usually just dove with both at the same time.
But it could really use some music and sounds.
That finish line was hard to reach. I can't really say I enjoyed playing the game with two buttons. Most of the time the wrong thing would happen, which I understand is my own fault, but it was quite annoying. Still, it was a worthy challenge and quite rewarding once I managed to get the hang of it a bit. The sound when the bullets hit the wall was a bit too sharp.
Gorgeous graphics and intro. The background images seems to be cut off a bit here and there, and the background cuts off completely after a while. Would have been nice if the player would receive a score based on the number of diamonds picked up and the distance travelled. Right now you can't even tell how many diamonds you took because the screen is blurred when the game is over.
Wow. Very beautiful game with a great mood. Was quite hard but very interesting. Some problems I ran into was that I managed to get an empty sign and that the fishing boat didn't want to go back out onto the perilous sea.
Beautiful game. I could only play the web version, and there I couldn't quite see anything with regards to the theme. I'm not sure what picking up (or consuming) those sculptures and snowmen did either. I started heading up, and found that no one was there; just an empty expanse of snow.
Hehe, very interesting and fun to play. It's got a lot of depth to it, more than I initially though.
Very beautiful and nice game. Really like the hexes and the space theme.
I thoroughly enjoyed completing this game. It felt very much doable while it was simultaneously kinda difficult. The random collision-detection did make it harder, but it also ensured that I didn't simply jump around willy nilly. Overall rather nice!
That was... not what I was expecting. The mini-game is well made, and the godmother as well. The other parts didn't flow so well.
The inability to turn back actually made the game more exciting. I wouldn't mind if there was maybe some other functionality (doubletapping buttons or combinations?) to perform some "waffle power" or similar what-not, but with only these two controls the game could have been made easily longer, if there were some fun obstacles or pesky enemies :D
Cute art.
I keel dem boonies! Very nice entry. The story sequence was the best! Really nice voices and manuscript. Didn't expect the bunnies when heading into the game. They grew into quite a horde when left unchecked.
Nice entry. I like the different challenge levels. I does get noticeably harder. :)
That was a great entry. It felt like the collision was a bit off (or unforgiving), which made it harder and made me get stuck a few times, but very fun to play and hear the announcer.
Looking good, likes the feeling of the game. It was a little hard to control though. felt like it would not take the next command fast enough after another.
Very nice concept with great audio and music.
Super hard for me, which makes it hard for me to appreciate the full extent of the creativity gone into the game.
IMMA DESTROY ALL MY FRIENDS IN DUELS!! :D Awesome art style with balanced and cool music accompanying it. Loved the voices!
I had a strange problem where two background music tracks were playing at the same time, or maybe I just imagined stuff. Anyway, the (two) controls are a bit clunky. You have to hold the control down for a while for it to repeat, which detracts from the flow of the game and any quick reflexes to save the kitty from the bombs. Would have been nice if the kitty grew a bit when eating the food.
I like clever puzzle games, and there certainly are some cleverness which has been squeezed out of the two button concept. Sometimes verging on frustrating though.
I could just spam the space or enter key to make them climb, maybe that's intentional?
Hahaha,what a great game, I really like it! :D
Heh, very interesting. Would have been good if failing a sequence a number of times showed it again, since it's easy to forget them sometimes.
It's was quite fun and nice. I liked seeing the bats flying behind me, and really liked how they spawned. Well done.
C+, suits me to a T. Very interesting concept, and it was quite fun as well. I do enjoy board games, and it really feels like one.
Quite an enjoyable and nice-looking game. Really like the double jumping and spinning, and that there are multiple lives so it doesn't end right away.
Jumping was hard, but nice entry for such a short time!
Nice game! Had to install some things to get it working in Windows, but it was worth it. It was quite hard managing the prisoners.
Great entry! Very fun to play, with some interesting mechanics as well.
Great entry! The "help text" was annoying and not very informative, but I got past it eventually. :)
Nice!
Extremely well made and fun game! When the fans block the exit, the theme really shines through. The enemy AI is pretty smart as well, making it somewhat difficult in some circumstances. Top marks! The only little annoyance is that some collision detection feels a bit too big (or maybe I'm just bad :D).
Quite a nice game! Very interesting take on the theme. It took me quite a long time to figure out the mechanics though!
Really liked the SMACK sound when the cars crash.
Very nice entry. I quite like the concept and the calming music! Moving around is a bit clunky on some parts though.
Nice. Never managed to get to the part where the falling was fatal though.
Very beautiful, both audio and visual, and the story and concept as well! Enjoyable, but not quite my cup of tea, since it doesn't have a lot of mechanics. Seeing the wisps behind an invisible barrier was a bit frustrating.
What... what did I just play? It's was very moody and nice looking, but a bit hard to control the character and find clues.
Very hard to balance the different things, but I liked the concept and different stories/questions during the road. Would have been good with some indication of how long it will take to reach the next city, and how much food is consumed each "day".
Interesting concept.
Very enjoyable! The driving and collision is a bit clunky, but the atmosphere is superb! I'm not quite sure what the tie-in to the theme is here. Is it that the more fog and snow, the worse it gets? :)
Very smooth, fun, and nice looking! Well done
You've put in a lot of work on it, which is nice to see. Quite ambitious to get so much done during a jam. I really like the graphics on the Ferventis, but my opinion is that it would probably have been better to focus your efforts on either story or mechanics. Right now, they both are rather half finished, and I think that experimenting with either one or the other would have been nice to see. You don't have a lot of time during a jam, unfortunately. :)
Very cute and entertaining!
Very nice entry! Felt very smooth and polished. Took a while to identify and kick out the intruders though!
Amazingly fun game! Very simple and entertaining.
I really liked this game! Really liked the concept and the art. The only complains is that its very hard to figure out what's happening (sometimes I lose life, sometimes enemies aren't taking enough damage, etc.), which makes it hard to make educated decisions. Some sound effects were a bit annoying as well.
I forgot about the theme for a while, until I almost got stuck because my gang was in the way. Good game! I like the graphics and the concept. The camera choice was my biggest problems, since a few places were not well aligned, making them hard to reach, and making the game a bit disorienting.
Hehe, very cute and great music and sound! Had to mess up on purpse to get something more difficult to happen though.
Cute game. Had some issues with the sound though (something that didn't sound right played in quite loudly in the background sometimes), but otherwise fairly enjoyable.
Nice entry. Quite interesting and hard to control the character using the keyboard, but you still managed to put in some interesting obstacles and puzzles.
Great game! Very enjoyable and hard :)
Not sure what to think about this one. I tried different things to get a feel for the game mechanic, but it felt a bit like a grind to get enough energy to build the new rooms, so I didn't progress far. Maybe there's a kink to it?
Very cute and beautiful! Controls are a bit clunky though, and changing them mid jump was very confusing. :)
The mood is definetly the strong point here. I'm not really experiencing the theme though, if anything, I think it was reversed! The ship was hard to control when "empty", and nice and slow when a lot of starthingies were trailing. Having the instructions and information on the whole screen made it easy to review the game mechanics, but was a bit intrusive.
Great entry!
Very nice entry! A little rough here and there, but still very impressive what you managed to accomplish under such a short time.
Great game! The levels feel a little like they're in the wrong order, since I found some of them to be quite tricky, but very fun nonetheless! :)
Love the graphics and art, and the underlying theme.
Mine stopped, a bit fitting, at "oxygen off". Though the head bobbing continued forever.
Very nice entry! I had a lot of fun, and got really stressed when the packages didn't fit into the hole in the wall, or when they fell of the conveyor belt. Having the packages spill over to the area where they need to be delivered would probably have fit the theme a bit more, but might haver made it too hard.
I really like the idea! It's a bit clunky though, but that's understandable.
I'm not sure what's going on. I got maybe two leaks before the submarine reached the surface, which meant that I didn't really get to experience the rising water level. The success screen "Depth 0" is a bit confusing. It would have been nice to see the background scroll downwards when the lever was being used. I really liked the art and the sounds.
I got very emotional from that intro and ending. ^^
Well then... I'll just let it run in the background. That ought to regenerate the space.
Great entry! Had a lot of fun and frustration trying to reach the end. :) The person that though it would be a good idea put the cactus plants in the middle of the corridor should get fired.
Nice entry! You should probably update the description to mention that there is a tooltip for the hearts (the only element that seems to have one).
So you lose weight by eating the fruit, and if you don't eat the fruit you grow and eventually burst? Nice sound effects and humorous take one the theme.
Very nice entry! I really enjoyed playing it, and I liked how the puzzles could be solved in different ways.
Awesome entry! Very nice take on the theme, and it plays great. I had a lot of fun playing it!
Exceptional entry! I very much enjoyed it, both the gameplay and the story. The mood was great as well.
Awesome entry! Wish it didn't have to end so soon.
That was hilarious! Amazing polish and execution, and a fun take on the theme!
I'm not sure what I was supposed to be doing, and what counts as a "hero's esteem". Maybe run around looking for more stars?
@olivier-millochau Thanks for the comment and the suggestion! We should definitely look into the theming next time; this time we just ran out of time and energy. It's unfortunately a (fixed in 3.1) bug in Godot that is blocking ray-cast input on the player collision capsule. I though about implementing my own raycast, but I thought people wouldn't notice. Oh well, I can't wait for 3.1 to be a bit more stable and start using that!
Lovely graphics, and quite an ambitious entry! I like the strategic depth you've managed to get. I had some trouble with the clicks when selecting and moving, and I couldn't get my guy into the Easthearth village at all.
Great and beautiful entry! Looks great and seems quite polished. Also, llama!
Nice entry! Quite a lot of stuff in it, with some nice art as well. Was a bit hard to figure out what the different buildings did, and "late game" was just trying to shuffle the cultist deeper into the forest.
Nice entry! It plays pretty smooth, and fits the theme quite well! Would have liked some more juice though. :tropical_drink:
Amazing and beautiful entry!
I'm not sure what I just played. :open_mouth: Great aesthetics and things to explore!
Solid and well-made game! Nice graphics and mini-games.
Great and fun entry! I was presented with a black screen with background music when starting the game, but turning off fullscreen helped that.
Great entry! I really liked the twist, and replaying the game with a different mindset!
Amazing entry!
lol, wth did I just play :grinning: Quite fun and well made!
Very deep and detailed, with a lot of variations!
Amazing entry! It was very fun, played very smooth, and feels and looks quite polished! Some of the sacrifices were quite original, and there were some though trade-offs.
Very nice entry! It was hard choices to pick something to sacrifice, and the choices between the stages were fun.
Good way to get some existential crisis, but I liked it.
Fun concept, that looks and sounds great!
Great entry! I really enjoyed it and had fun trying different strategies. The honey/flower upgrade didn't feel necessary though, and I felt it just set me back.
Nice entry. The sacrifices didn't feel that impactful though? I don't know what sacrificing strength did, since the enemies died with the same number of zaps as before. Sacrificing speed didn't feel like it was a big loss either.
Nice entry! The double take on the theme is great.
I couldn't figure out how to move the hands up and down, only inwards at the bottom, creating some very questionable pottery. Nice concept though.
Pretty solid and fun entry
Great concept and mood!
Nice art style. Some sombre music would have been great.
Great game! Really fun and humorous.
It was extremely satisfying to just power up the ball more and more, regardless of where it would end up! Great entry!
Nice and soothing game. Would have been nice if the plants didn't require constant watering, shifting it more to a management type game. Right now, it's pretty hard (and somewhat unnecessary) to maintain multiple pots, since just sticking to one and watering it the whole time seems to work best (or seems to be a requirement?). I managed to beat the game on day 13 with just one big pot.
Ouchh, my neck! Not my cup of tea, but great mood and graphics! The sound was great.
Nice and fun game. Quite challenging, but nice to see a global highscore. I didn't get very far (yet), but I will keep on playing and try to get higher.
I quite enjoyed this entry! Was fun to play. A hand limit or something might have made it a bit more strategical.
Hehe, very nice game. A bit hard and frustrating though, but maybe because I'm tired today.
Very nice entry. The artwork is very good and works most of the time. The puzzle elements were fun and interesting, and the story/setting was great.
Pretty fun and cute, with some interesting mechanics and choices. It hurt my soul that this is without sound though...
I loved the game! It was a great experience with a lot of fun cynicism!
Nice art and concept
Interesting concept and mechanics. A few sounds were a bit too sharp
Very cool and fun game, albeit quite frustrating! It feels very satisfactory to play, with a nice minimalistic art.
Really ambitious and packed game. I had a hard time understanding how to get over some obstacles, and it took me quite a while to figure out that you can double jump (under certain circumstances) when returning to the clone.
@derek-volker Thanks for your kind words and feedback! The online highscore is hosted by Game Jolt. They have an API for it, and there're probably plugins for all the major engines (we used https://github.com/rojekabc/-godot-gj-api). Quite easy to set up and use!
@fluffy-kaeloky Glad you liked it, and grats on your high score! The giant machines are killable, just takes a lot of bullets to get one down!
@mike-inprinciple Thanks for trying out the game and leaving feedback! You're right that we didn't hit the mark on the theme. The extra lives were more of an afterthought and is pretty poorly tacked on for no real reason other than we felt something more was needed. The connection to the theme is made in a hacky way through the backstory (your whole life is in Currency). Seems like people either thought the lingering corpses were a nice touch or an annoyance. I guess we could have made them blow up if they got too many shots on them, instead of just having a fixed time limit. Not having them impede walking would probably have been a good idea as well.
@raphnika Thanks for the kind words! It means a lot. We're not professional artists, but we're somewhat able to do passable pixel art, but it takes a lot of time and effort.
Interesting concept, and the art and mood is very nice!
Beautiful and quite fun game. Halfway in I forgot what the goal was, and got very confused.
Very beautiful and sometims serene. I really liked the game. The different seasons on the islands are stunning and great. The pace is a bit weird, with potentially long stretches of nothing but empty islands, and then dangerous waters with intense cannon fighting. The navigation issues made it a bit more annoying.
That was "bloody brilliant" Great voice acting, great humour, great everything!
Really great mood and aesthetics.
Great game! Really liked the art, atmosphere, and the dialogue. I couldn't really understand exactly how/why the different values increased/decreased though.
Fun entry! The coins at the end was a nice touch.
Amazing art, mood, and story! I couldn't figure out the third ending though.
Solid entry! Good job
Pretty good overall. Nice to see some LÖVE entries.
Amazing entry! I didn't really see any consequences of my actions, but I'll make sure to try the post jam version when I'm able to.
It's a good start
Nice entry! I really enjoyed trying to complete all the objectives. They were quite fun, and it was quite challenging to figure out what to do based on those titles alone. Managed to get all of them in the end though
Heh, even with all the help from you guys in the comment section it was still very hard and somewhat confusing to fit all the pieces together. Good job though. It is a fun and interesting entry, with some quite unique visuals.
Great entry. It's a bit wonky here and there, but still quite playable and enjoyable. Quite brutal :pig:
Looks good. A bit hard, and I got hit by a lot of choices and dialogues the first thing I did (with no gold to spend), but a solid entry. Doesn't seem to be a difference between dying and fleeing?
I quite liked the entry! Very ambitious and functioned very well. Would have liked the ending to be a bit different (the alignment score didn't say anything to me).
Solid entry with a nice health mechanic. As has already been said, the levels were a bit too big. With so many different games to try ever Ludum Dare, there just isn't enough time to spend too long on a single entry. I saw that there were new enemies every level down, but it took way too long to find the exit, and it was quite easy to get lost in the maze. The upgrade choices were interesting, but once invested, it kinda felt like I was locked to a certain weapon, and that there wasn't a reason to try/upgrade the other weapons. Might have been better to have weapon-agnostic upgrades? (I only managed to get to two totems, so not sure if there's anything like that in there.) Lastly, some things on the ground (like twigs and stones) have an outline, which kinda read as being interactible. All in all, a good fun game!
Great entry! Very nice feel and mood to it, and it was fun and enjotable to play and explore. I got hit with a game over my first warp, but I guess that was intended? (I emptied out all the energy on the current map before warping.) Other than that, it was a bit hard to understand what the different upgrades did. (Did the mine beam increase energy yield or just mining speed? Did the thruster upgrade increase handling or turning speed?) Starving yourself from a warp by buying upgrades was a bummer, but fits thematically.
Great job!
Great entry! Very moody and beautiful. Got a bit teary there at the end after father and daughter were reunited.
I had a hard time to figure out what was happening. Might have been due to the missing audio. Really amazing concept and art though!
Good and nice entry! I especially liked the art style.
Nice entry! It's a bit hard to click on things to use abilities, but otherwise it was quite interesting. Well done.
Hey, that was actually quite great. The art and mood are superb! Reminds me a bit of Papers, Please. Maybe adding some "hidden" information would have made it a bit more engaging, e.g. that the player has to guess the death risk or money they receive for some of the patients, based on certain events for the day, dialogue or sprites.
I had some minor problems with earning money one day, but it got fixed the next. Also, the intro could have used a pass in a spellchecker, but I guess it was a bit rushed. :)
Very nice looking with a cool boss too! The "corpse run" sucked a bit though.
Nice entry! Interesting concept, but I also had some problems with the controls.
Great and fun game! I could see myself playing this just for the fun of it! Only minor complaint would be the long death screen, which made it harder to just jump right back in.
I really liked the concept, and the dialogues were well written. The gameplay was a little harsh, and there seemed to be choices I couldn't take because I lacked something (one of the resources?). Would have been nice if the resources were tied into the events a bit more, but otherwise great work!
Nice entry! Even with the description, it took me a long time to figure out what I was supposed to do (didn't watch the video, in case it goes into it there). Interesting mechanics, but I often got "stuck" and had to keep trying to cut down bushes and other stuff in a nearby area and hope to get the right thing pop up.
Nice entry. Fits the theme quite nicely
The aesthetics are great in this game. I got slapped around so hard when I got hit (by the boss and when walking on a slime) that I went through the world box, and couldn't get back in.
Nice game, great graphics. Wouldn't have minded spending some more time shopping.
