I love it! The art, the sound, the string thingy!

nicotuason 2015-04-21 12:11

This game is great! Really fun and challenging to smash multiple enemies together. Great art and animation too, I love the little spinning death animation. I hope more people get to play it!

cmcoto 2015-04-21 14:18

Love the concept, love the game!

lochmann-apps 2015-04-21 14:21

You're the guy who won with 90 Seconds Portraits last year right? Nice game this time again! Congrats! ;-)

plasterphantom 2015-04-21 14:22

Looks really good, and plays really well! Well done!

shrimpgunpistolshrimpslingergunnershrimps 2015-04-21 14:23

Great!

mutatedsoftware 2015-04-21 14:28

Really nice entry! Everything lent itself well to making me feel like a badass.

akios 2015-04-21 14:31

AWESOME MECANICS, GOOD WORK, i had a lot of fun
artwork is also very good

rockhoppergames 2015-04-21 14:49

Amazing! If there's a game better than this then this'll be a good Dare! Adorable graphics, catchy music, and great gameplay, even a wide range of enemy types, this game is the full package!

Apart from fixing a slight graphical bug, the only change I'd suggest is making combo's refil your stamina meter. The best moments in the game were running in to huge groups of enemies and linking them all up for a combo, but I tended to get hit afterwards if I didn't immediately run back into cover. Restoring stamina would encourage more of this risk/reward gameplay where the link mechanic really shines, and help keep the intensity high.

What does N.O.D.E. stand for anyway though?

awpteamoose 2015-04-21 14:53

Lovely pixelart and a very solid mechanic. If different enemy types reacted differently to being linked and there was a bit of story - it would be a complete game.

camlang 2015-04-21 15:06

Almost 5/5 on everything. The maing mechanic is fantastic.

kabutakogames 2015-04-21 15:33

I loved the game feel - though I wish the levels let you play around a little more before throwing you in the deep end

rockhoppergames 2015-04-21 16:30

Just another tiny suggestion to improve the feel of the game:

At present, the enemies take the same amount of time to be drawn together when their right next to each other as when they're really far apart. Is that on a timer or something?

Perhaps reducing the timer for shorter connections would add a bit more punch to the action. Throwing two baddies into each other is always fun/funny, and I sorta see this like giving a joke a snappier punchline!

borgi 2015-04-21 19:37

Awesome graphs, awesome weapon, smooth implementation! Well done!

sadsmile 2015-04-21 19:39

Very, very, good game!

monkeedude1212 2015-04-21 19:39

Stunning. Great gameplay, great art, great sound, great music. Loved the balance and it was executed perfectly. My only gripe was that it wasn't related to the theme!

cowboycolor 2015-04-21 19:41

Really neat, one of my favorites that I have played yet! I love the chain mechanic, and I'm glad you included an alternate attack too. The graphics are adorable, the music is sweet, the sfx are (a little bfxr-y) sufficient! Well done!

lumscum 2015-04-21 19:41

Damn, that was great! The art and music created a really cool cyberpunk mood (kind of reminded me of the movie Drive, actually). The mechanics were super fun too!

triplevisiongames 2015-04-22 11:34

That art is awesome and the mechanic is really cool too!

colindoody 2015-04-22 15:46

The graphics is great, and the gameplay is smooth too!

ultraval 2015-04-22 15:50

Nice game, nice audio, nice, graphics, nice concept.
Only one point, the bullets are fired before you can see the enemy.
GREAT WORK!

arche-san 2015-04-22 16:08

It's really fun to use the mouse to destroy enemies. I'm not sure the kick is really useful. But I understand why: if there is only one enemy you can finish it. Good job :)

windmill-games 2015-04-22 20:05

I just wanted to let you know that your game made it into my list of top 10 games for LD32!

sience 2015-04-22 21:50

Great art, like always :). I like the kind of polish you put into the game and the combat. The enemies reminds me on something.
What means N.O.D.E. ?

simonlarsen 2015-04-23 10:17

@RockhopperGames: Thank for the feedback. Having large combos recharge your stamina is actually a really good idea. We'll definitely play with it for the post-jam version.

@SiENcE: To best honest, N.O.D.E. doesn't stand for anything. We just had to come up with a name real quick. ^_^

s0lll0s 2015-04-23 18:02

Nice game! Was a lot of fun, and surprisingly large amount of levels. Certainly feels awesome when you clear a room full of enemies in a single N.O.D.E. Chain. I wasn't quite sure about the dash though, it didn't really help me at all.

nassi 2015-04-23 22:09

I on the other hand think that the dash was amazing. Especially when combined with a whirlwind kick! That said the main weapon was (rightfully so) more intriguing against masses of enemies.

Really nice aesthetic and gameplay. Finished in 12:47 with 134300 points. A leaderboard would've been fancy ;).

drauthius 2015-04-23 22:32

Excellent game! Runs very smoothly and the game has a lot of detail to it!

simonlarsen 2015-04-23 22:41

@S0lll0s: The dash actually has a few frames where you don't take any damage.

@nassi: It's not a leaderboard, but that definitely blows anything i've been able to manage out of the water! - Lukas Erritsoe

josefnpat 2015-04-24 03:30

Great job man! Art, music and mechanics are all fantastic! I wish you had spent less time on levels and more time on power-ups and story though. Really fantastic regardless!

vividreality 2015-04-24 11:47

Really cool. Art, gameplay, music, all really well done. Good job!

phocker 2015-04-25 01:49

i like this game - really cool idea for the mechanic - great game

glowingsnail 2015-04-25 17:54

Too nice.

deadfragment 2015-04-25 18:02

Really amazing art style to this game and the gameplay felt smooth. Very satisfying game mechanic, but I felt asthough the enemies fired at you a bit too soon, should give the player a bit more of a chance to react to new enemies, overall though an amazing entry!

terraneola 2015-04-26 12:27

Atmosphere right out from the cross-code game. I like smooth controls and nice feeling of movement. The fight with a more intelligent opponents would be really interesting. One of the best so far!

lamogui 2015-05-03 10:41

I like the animation
