Nice-looking (and sounding), but very frustrating. For a rhythm game, the actual rhythm is very de-emphasized. This needs either pulsing music and flashing (ruining the mood) or doing away with rhythm mechanics.
Crushed on startup =(
Fun, interesting, nice twist on the theme. Awesome entry!
Movement is kinda awkward and stilted, but otherwise nice game.
Nice, but really hard!
SMOKE WEED EVERY DAY!!
This was hilarious, 5/5
5 stars, Yarik. Realy cool. Maybe not so cool as Tootta leaves quest :-P
Excellent idea!
Really needs mouselook and strafing, though
Pretty nice. But please, please, actually host your webplayer somewhere, don't make me download the web game!
Also, seeing results on a separate screen is kinda... absolutely unnnecessary. It would've been funnier AND more true to the theme to see text immediately.
@janovbyrnisson Well, it's all on a single screen, isn't it?... Kind of a stretch, I know (-8
@raincole it's a Van Hellsing =)
Great little story. Really like things like that. Good job.
Strange little game. Can't say I understand what's going on, but the process is fun nonetheless.
Loved the graphics too, simple but effective.
Interesting idea. The backspace does not work, and the text does not auto-scroll, making far a frustrating experience.
Also, for someone having experience with actual command-line tools the handholding is annoying.. although I'm sure less experienced people would appreciate it!
Nice idea, but it plays so sloooow. I think a bit more frantic indoctrination might be better.
Awesome dynamic! Really cool
Wonderfull, just wonderfull Yaroslav =) 5 stars
Awesome! Easy to learn, hard to master, just as it should be.
Hey infernalad, I wanted to contact you but you haven't left any contact details anywhere. I found a Steam user with the same id - is that you? Reply to me there, or drop a line to highpriest@chaoscultgames.com please.
Interesting. The music is nice but gets too repetitive fast. Also I think it's a bit too hard to trace the pattern exactly enough to cause panic.
Cool! Simple, fun, varied. I like the inversion of the theme - an unconventional use of a "conventional" weapon.
Great idea and nice graphics. Very hard to play though.
The real monster here is a pace at which your robot moves :) Like others said, nice graphics (even if a bit glitchy at times), but I can't say much good about gameplay. As for the theme... Were you channeling Ender's Game here? I don't think it works here. We don't even know if these spiders are sentient. I can't feel any remorse about destroying them, and that means I can't see my robot as a monster.
Really nice mood and visuals!
Is it even possible to lose here? What's the challenge? Maybe if the player needed to preserve some shred of humanity in his character by avoiding confrontation as much as possible... Even then, there is simple not enough gameplay here. A good game is a series of interesting choices, and this game has none.
Audio is very bad, otherwise an OK simple game.
Good looking game with nice handling. But with small screen and no map at all it's easy to get lost, and it seems like I can fly completely outside of level's boundaries.
Challenging platformer, though there is a feeling that collisions are wrong somehow, especially when jumping from the end of platform. The only thing I can't see is how does it fits the theme. Do I need to play to the end to see if I'm a monster? That's a bit harsh :)
Way too simple due to problems with AI. I managed to get the girl to jump on the raised platform and she got stuck jumping back and forth there, never coming down to where I was. I guess I won?
A bit too long for a "clicker with moral", but I liked changing visuals and headlines. But I didn't get to completely destroy the whole planet with my greed. Was disappointed.
Simple and fun. The only problem is that NPCs are moving randomly and unpredictably, making it a game of chance essentially. I think studying movement patterns before dashing to bed would've been more fun.
Could be interesting, but in present state is a bit too awkward. Moving the main monster tile-by-tile via Move command reminds me of old RPGs, and not in a good way: at the very least, this should be duplicated by Arrow keys, or even better, the monster should just move where I point it to, by finding and following a path, or even teleporting (unless there are events happening automatically when you enter a tile).
But it's nice to see a more strategic game in this jam.
Nice riff on Dungeon Keeper theme. I would really like to see this game expanded into full version, with more dungeon graphics, hero actions description ('Alric the Brave dons the Unidentified Mail [Cursed Mail of Teleportation]), different heroes/classes, new options, like placing cursed items/potions etc. Right now, though, the game is a bit boring, as you watch hero after hero fail for a long time without any details. Also, why do the player get so much money in the beginning? For a long time, I felt no need to pick coins from heroes at all!
Still, one of the better games in this jam, great work!
Well-made game, a list of available action is a very good interface decision for a such a game. It wasn't VERY much fun, because of its somewhat limited nature, but I still enjoyed it.
This game balances on the edge between a clicker and a Zero Player Game, without quite being any one of them. Points for some innovation, even though its hard to qualify this as being anything but a primitive time-waster in the end.
Interesting idea, though implementation is somewhat lacking. First, it's too easy to evade enemies during day, and there is not much tactic to it. Second, scoring based on kills made by computer-controlled character is not very fun.
Also, I don't know if it's a bug, or not, but the game behaved VERY strangely when the night came while I was in the water: my character started swimming down, and swam for quite a while without seeking enemies or attacking those it encountered. Then, controls reverted back to me, but the night hasn't yet ended.
A second game I've seen with this theme, but this one is much more interesting. Leveling system makes it worth to kill enemies just to see what new weapons will Ogre get. The only thing I didn't get is how to restore your health. Pressing 4 during level up bumps up maximum, but leaves the current level intact, if I'm not mistaken?
Sorry, but it's just a game mechanic that's been done to death already, with literally nothing new added, except towers use monster icons. The graphics are nice, to be fair.
It's way funnier than it had any right to be, considering the production values. I mean, graphics suck, controls suck, no sound at all, but I did play this game a lot logner than many others, better-looking ones. Polish this and it could become very good!
Also bonus points for TARDIS there (-8
I don't seem to get American political humor in this form.
Nice, a single-player Clash of Clans clone with a small twist. Given the limited time, not a bad result, though it lack the variety of units and defenses to really make the game interesting.
A second Nessie game I've seen in this compo, and this one is much easier. I liked all the headlines and photos and stuff, but I can't discover how to play for long or win :)
I could find no other players, and since there isn't anything to do, it's not very interesting. Still, if it's working as a multiplayer game, it's at least a technical achievement.
Yeah, I don't get "you're a monster" vibe here, though I understand the idea. Part of that is a slightly ridiculous premise: why did a plane on ever-peaceful island even had weapons? Then again, the game itself is fun enough. Having collision on rings around bonuses is a particularly evil touch, took me a few deaths to figure it out :)
Very confusing, and often seems like it's stuck (it's completely non-obvious what the game expects you to do next). On the other hand, the game rules are quite innovative.

Also, this font is unreadable.
I'm not a fan of stealth games, but this one seems nice-looking and well-made, expect for collisions. It would be better if the goal of current area was somehow specified.
Web version worked for me.
Was unable to whack a dinosaur. Will not play again.
Awesome, really, you should make full game from this demo.
I must say that the first chapter is very short, and writing is not very impressive.
Hey, fun little game, I like it! Does not look like much, but plays quite well. I wish it had some feedback when you're damaged. At least a pain cry or something.
Nice graphics and sound, but I really don't feel the theme here.
Also, the game really needs to be started twice to get rid of glitches! Please fix this or include a note in description!
Fuck... I am a duck! LOL that was genuinely funny. The second level is unbelivably frustrating though, spoils the impression... otherwise great game!
Nice, but frustratingly hard for me.
I'm not sure a predator is a monster, but at least it's a non-obvious approach to theme. The game would really benefit from some kind of additional mechanic, like maybe a quick dash that spends half your remaining energy or something.
Didn't quite feel character's rage, and knocking down some non-interactive dummies without any additional gameplay doesn't seem fun.
The car physics are AWESOME.
Seems fun, but with these physics it's also SUPER HARD. I couldn't get to 2nd checkpoint even )-8
A simple game, once you get hang of it, but points for unusual interpretation of theme: the necessity of monsters in ecosystem :)
Am I the only one who is slightly disturbed by the fact that the wolf also gladly eats SHEEP POOP?!
Not much of a game, and it doesn't fit the theme.
Looks good, but the physics are pretty awful for a Mirror's Edge - inspired gameplay. The stealth part is quite nice.
Simple, but to a point :)
Interesting idea. The platformer physics feel bad though - I understand that you were going for that floaty out-of-this-world feeling, but it's still too frustrating.
The voice acting starts intriguing when the tutorial segues into some dark things... but the effect is spoiled when the same 4 phrases begin repeating over and over. Still, the voice and sound is the best part of this game. A little more work and it could create wonderful horror atmosphere.
Can't return from Instructions screen, a lot of text in UI is badly arranged, it's not clear what is happening and what to do. This might be interesting, but I can't even see the general idea behind all the bugs and bad UI.
Nice game, but the sound/music is atrocious, it really pained my ears.
I hated controls, especially the way the camera kept moving when a container is open. Also, I haven't figured out how to open the door in the first room and the damn dog kept getting in the way. A very frustrating game, and not in the good way.
Overlooking the graphics, this could have been much more interesting if it required any kind of skill. Or you could have gone another router, and make it more gory, with bloodstains from enemies, different attacks which grow more powerful as you kill more enemies etc. As it is, the game really is too simple.
A very good game! The only problem I see is quite a slow start. Before you can equip yourself to fly even a slightly dangerous mission, you'll have to grind non-risky missions quite a few times, so it feels like it's a game made with F2P in mind, and it's missing a "buy ingame money to skip grinding" button.
A simple and nice game, maybe a bit unambitious and straightforward about the theme. It would probably benefit from more building types, and maybe some advance defence features, like archer/mage towers etc.
Nicely played with player's reflexes. But since there is a pacifist path through the game (you can skip attacking anyone and anything beyond the initial crate), it would be nice to have a special ending for this case (at least, without "What really happened" followed by nothing). Or you could place one of the villagers near the house's entrance, so player had to kill at least one of them to complete the level.
But I'm afraid that your idea is really to big to execute properly. Even if you had all the graphics and mechanics in place, simply telling the player "you know, they weren't really monsters, you're the monster for killing them!" in the end wouldn't work. The player would feel cheated by developers, but not horrified at his own, or his character's actions.
Very good stylization! A fun, diverse game with very good graphics and sound.
Minor complaints: Objectives texts is hard to read and sometimes eaten persons glitch and remain standing where they were caught until the end of level.
Couldn't understand what to do. Nice level-design, though.
Kinda fun. Mixing voxel-art and low-poly art does not work well, you'd better stick to one style.
Also this game needs WAY more juiciness - why no ragdolls? no blood splatters? no sound? no skidmarks? Come on, you're using Unity, this stuff is super-easy to add!
Straightforward approach to theme, but a fun game with nice graphics. Though I must say that laser beams look slightly wrong the way they appear not on any specific place on monster, but just somewhere.
Good game, but the music started getting to me after a while.
Not a bad result. Simplistic, but fun, controls feel smooth and happiness effect looks just right.
Pretty great car handling! I know it's a lot of pain to set up good car handling in Unity, but you did good.
A control scheme that feels "floaty" but is not frustrating? IMPOSSIBRU!!
Seriously though, good work. Looks good, feels good, sounds good - that's a hell of a first try.
As a statement, it fails somewhat. As a game, it's just bad, from problems with camera (which can go outside level) to very primitive gameplay and strange idea of suddenly appearing houses.
Doesn't fit the theme much, unless there is a deeper message here, what with the boss monster being the old lady with a rake, and the hero looking like a recently released convict. Still, the old lady can kill you very fast, so I guess she isn't an ordinary old lady, and it isn't all a drug-induced hallucination which leads the hero to kill random people in the street.
Other than that, the gameplay is too repetitive, since all monsters have the same behaviour. Upgrades make it a bit more fun, though.
On the one hand, it's just a platformer, exactly like hundreds of other platformers. On the other hand, it's the best platformer I've seen on this LD yet.
Nice take on agar.io gameplay. Loved the control scheme.
Very nice, though resource-intensive and too short :) I was just starting to have fun! I was just about to complain that there is no visual indication of your ball's strength, and then I saw that buildings were getting smaller! Well done :)
Finally a game I can't believe was made in just 3 days! It's a complete product. In 90's you could sell this game (with era-appropriate graphics) at full price. Fun gameplay, good visuals.
The only two complaints from me: first, it's not clear where is the end of the game. Does it ends when some invisible timer runs out (or did I miss it?). Or does I need to collect some pre-defined amount of biomass? It just isn't clear. The other thing, the game's a bit too easy, though I suppose you can ramp up difficulty with ease if you add more levels with harder enemies in post-LD version.
All in all, a great game, the best I've seen in this Dare yet!
It looks nice and sounds quite good, but I have absolutely no idea what I'm supposed to do. Or what any of this even means.
Fun game for a short time, but behaviour of flames really bugs me. They should not slide over ground or over people like that, looks bad. If only people would be set on fire when I hit them, this game would already be so much better!
Why does grades after around 8 last so short a time? I mean, I liked it - the game was getting a bit boring at this point - but still?
Also, at higher grades, the strategy becomes very simple: just spam weapons in every direction, occasionally switching from one to another. Due to high target density, there is no need to aid any longer :) It would be more challenging, if you were penalised, say, for hitting an innocent pupil or if there were some other constraints. But that would lower the frantic pace of the game, so maybe there is no need for that.
My mouse hand DOES NOT thank you for this little game.
Interesting take on the theme. And masterfully executed - the level design forces you to become angry to reach the exit, and balance the need for control with the need for better abilities when you're angry. Solid 5 stars!
Good platformer feel, but the graphics are really bad, not just sprites, but the render itself too. As for the theme... Eh, not really a close hit here.
Pretty good. I like that you didn't go with the obvious idea of infecting humans to become zombies!
Looks great, plays great, the idea is solid. The challenge is too much for me though, I couldn't get past 2nd god.
Also, Y U NO sound effects?
Ladies behaviour is too random, so I don't see much fun in this game.
The game wouldn't work in fullscreen with resolution different from desktop (probably UI placement problems?).
Overall, I found this game to be too silly for my taste. Also, unresponsive controls, strange camera placement and lack of satisfaction from crushing puny humans did not add to enjoyment of this entry.
Very very cool. Nice idea, simple and fun gameplay, cool graphics and sound, what's not to love?
Good enough game. A few complaints: it's not always clear that you have caught an enemy, either there is no animation for grabbing, or it's hard to notice it. Also, double-click is often detected when I didn't mean it, which leads to too much random jumping.
That was seriously fun and interesting game mechanic. And it looks nice and sounds nice too, excellent work!
Not much of game, but an OK joke. I really liked sound :) So authentic.
Couldn't kill even one enemy, but they killed me easily. Maybe I don't get something.
A solid game. Fighting flying creatures is really frustrating, though, and half the difficulty comes from the fact that you can't attack and remain in place, and the said attack often carries you forward into falling.
This kind of gameplay kind of worked in online browser games, but in single player it's not very fun. Even if each monster has an unique strategy, it's still feels like a guessing game, which isn't fun at all.
Another problem is UI. End of round is done badly: after I clicked both defense and attack buttons, nothing seem to happen for a short while, then some text is show VERY briefly and I'm left wondering what just happened. This should have been really easy to fix even with deadlines...
Also, I suddenly won after defeating two opponents and seeing the third one for a few seconds?
All in all, this is simply not fun in its present state, thought graphics are nice.
Also please note that web version does not work (prompts a download of weblayer.html).
Simple, but well-executed (no pun intended...) idea. Though it is a bit unfair just to tell player to shoot red dots, without explaining what they are, when the character obviously possesses that knowledge. Not that it would have made much difference to gameplay, but I think it would have made the message a bit more powerful.
Great as always, mr. Goberna =) It was sad that you missed LD 32.
Wow, awesome mechanics. I don't like puzzle games, but this... this is something. Thx. 5 stars Overall
So addictive gameplay. Really cool. 5 star fun.
BLOOOOD!!!! MOREE BLODDDD!!!
Ok, that was really funny =).
So it's basically Kung Fury game, isn't it? Except with 300% more DANCE!
Wonderful music and suspense. True hardcore gameplay.
I ram the house... with my dragon =)
Interesting variation of shoot'em'up mechanic
Really addictive gameplay, but too short. I want more! =)
Small and cute, like it =)
Very nice. Good looking and funny. Funny how it has exactly the same structrure as our game, but different mechanics.
Nice use of themes. Could've used some audio though.
Not bad. It lacks feedback - kinda hard to understand what's going on; but the basic gameplay is there. Also the game looks nice.
Very interesting gameplay!
> You use Unity 5.3 and canvas scaler for the ui? It's broken in this version in fullscreen.
Yep, that's what we do. I guess we just never tested with fullscreen, oops. I'll check it out when I have the chance, thanks for the report!
Interesting mechanics prototype.
Arrrrgh, blood and glory! Best music around!
The physics seems to be... strange. But music is nice and dragon is funny =)
Just awesome, really. 5 stars fun
I didn't understand what to do. But graphics and atmosphere is quite good enough
"The application can't be open" error on Mac OS X 10.11 =(
it's really control hell on touch pad. But i do like planes a lot =)
Cool economic simulator. Great work!
What's a great idea! Excellent work! Manage swarm is very fun thing!
The idea is interesting, but the game lacks any feedback. I click and nothing happens.. except sometimes SOMETHING happens, but I have no idea what it is.
I'm sure the game creators have fun playing, because they undertands the meaning of icons and various game states. I do not, though.
Very cool. The plane controls could use more work - it's very twitchy atm, feels strange and buggy. Otherwise great game.
In terms of gameplay per control key used, this game is probably better than nethack! Very good.
Nice idea, but for the life of me I can't get past second log. Really hard. Also you should've added some sort of indicator to see how much time is left before freezing.
I can't really understand what's happening. I clean trash and then I die? Depressing game (-8
Fun, but I want more levels. More hardcore pls =)
Good concept. 5 Innovation
So intriguing game, but I can't beat with level "Almost there" =(
So funny thing =)
OMFG it's awesome. 5 stars all categories =)
3890 =) Simple but brilliant idea. 5 stars innovation.
