Wow that was awesome! Amazing job guys.

Wow that was awesome! Amazing job guys.
Having to switch between attack and defense modes is a little clumsy. It fits within the theme but kinda wears on the gameplay.
One of the prettiest games I've played on here.
Ha ha That was pretty great! I loved the random attributes that got added as you played.
Good game. It would be nice if the game gave you some sort of indicator how close you were to the end.
A simple good game. I like it!
This was a very clever game. I liked the idea, and I loved the art. But I felt like I wasn't in control of my character though. It made me feel like how well I did was totally random.
This is a surprisingly well polished game for a game jam.
This was great! Reminds me a lot of classic puzzle games. I enjoyed it a lot!
It took me a while to figure out how it was played but once I did I really liked it. A small amount of text explaining the game could be really useful.
Interesting game. The difficulty is fine but it should ramp up to the level it's at, not start there. give the player time to get used to the rules of the game before you try to punish them.
That was brilliant. It would be cool to see if there is a way to expand on this concept.
"L : Tap to jump and remain airborne. " - No matter how quickly I tapped it I always fell right back to the ground. Is there a trick to it?
Hey, congrats on finishing your first game and entering it. Everybody had to start somewhere. One suggestion I might have though, would be to let the user know the rules of the game or the controls, maybe even on this page in the games description.
Definitely one of the more interesting submisions
That was pretty clever. The invisible sharks get pretty hard.
Super well polished game. The aspect ratio makes me feel like I'm going to see this on mobile any day now. Good luck with it.
Excellent game. Amazing levels of polish on this one.
Great game. I really liked the aesthetic. One of the more beautiful games I've seen here.
I like the style of your game. A 2d game projected on a 3d wall is a cool take on the theme. The game is pretty hard which is fine, but if you make a game difficult you should streamline the process to get back into the game. For instance only make the player read the intro on the first load.
That was really cool. I don't think I've seen a game before that used two separate tabs. My only complaint is that it wasn't longer but there's only so much you can do in 48 hours.
This game is hilarious. I loved your take on the theme. Also the music is super catchy. It makes waiting to get all the messages enjoyable.
Great game. It's a really cool take on the theme. Only real complaints are that it could really use some sound and a cross-hair. But great game.
Cool target game. It would be good to put the red/blue scoring mechanic you mentioned in the comments up in the description of the game. Ran into a glitch where some of the target were unclickable. other than that good game.
Really cool game but it needs some balancing. It's crazy hard.
ha ha This is a great game! I feel like you really captured the Ludum Dare experience.
Nice game! The controls are interesting. they felt clunky at first but I warmed up to them quickly.
Cool game. Nice aesthetic. Floating cans seem to always disappear before I can get to them. Escape button does not exit game.
Very clever little game. god job.
Most charming game I've played this jam.
hey, f doesn't seem to do anything. Can't get past the first stage.
Awesome game. Really enjoyable. I feel the mechanics and puzzles were well thought out. Great job!
Cool game. It would be nice if I didn't have to click a second time after throwing a stone to grab a second stone. I realize this was probably a design choice, but it feels a little clunky.
I agree with some of the other posters, that the brown land being safe is really confusing. I was trying to avoid all the brown obstacles coming at me and couldn't figure out why I kept dying.
This is a cool idea but having to switch back and forth between windows is a little clumsy. It would be nice if the enemies didn't start attacking until the window received focus.
This is a beautiful and well polished game. Really like the art style. My only complaint is that it there isn't more of it to play.
Wow I love the art style.
Arghh there was a secret letter?!! Good game that was pretty tricky.
I feel dumb, but I can't get to the orb on the first level. I got to the top of the couch and couldn't make the jump to the shelf. Maybe I did it wrong.
I really liked this one. Is there an end state though? I think I found all of the things there are to find but it never gave me a message saying so. Maybe I missed one?
Cool idea for a game. Well polished.
Very clever and well executed. I enjoyed that a lot.
Very cool game. Is there a way to tell if people will like each other?
Amazing game. My only complaint is the second boss's one hit kill attack. It made him harder than the end boss for me.
This is a great game. It took a really long time to figure out though. I can't decide if that's a good or a bad thing though.
Ha I went with a roomba game as well. Good game. I liked the trail effects after running through dirt or water.
Wow, that was crazy. I loved the art style.
It would be nice if you didn't need to go back to menu every time you need to place something. It, could for instance remember the last thing you picked and continue placing that item on click. Would be really useful when building walls of worktables.
Amazing game! Loved how the map evolved each round.
This is a pretty crazy concept. I feel if you had had more time this could be great.
This a really relaxing little game and I really like the mechanics in place. I feel if you had more time you could really build on them and create something pretty cool.
Good game! I'd recommend putting the controls on your LD page. Also I got the game into a state where I was no longer able to upgrade or buy anything regardless of how much money I had.
Beautiful game. I loved the tentacle monster.
Cool game. The main character looks a lot like some of the enemy sprites though. With the screen shake, I lost him a couple of times.
Nice little game. Game gets a little difficult because you have to rely so heavily on random chance. I think it would be really cool if you added a Super Mario Bros 2 style lifting and carrying mechanic for the presents.
Good game, my only compliant is that the grid based movement felt a little clunky to me for a platformer.
On one of my play-throughs I was able to create an state where the game got stuck. I quickly boxed in the expanding shape with minerals. It kept making the spawn noise but had no place to spawn. Game just kind of got stuck there. Other than that good game.
Ha I made a Roomba game as well. I really like the approach you took on yours. Great character designs on your enemies!
I love how everything was place or removed by those mechanical arms. That was a great idea well executed.
Cool entry. I liked the weapon choices. It would be cool if there were short pauses between waves for the player to regroup.
Yeah placing buildings consumes the putties but the hut buildings produce an infinite number of putties. You can't really run out.
You did a nice job on the slime. Looks great.
Very cool game. I'd recommend either adding a late game mechanic or adding a win condition when only the buildings are left. There does not seem to be a way to lose in that scenario.
This was a great entry. I really liked the nightly events and the ticking clock. Good job.
Is the goal to save the people or to sacrifice the people and save the penguins?
This game is super clever. I love your take on the theme!
Very cool, well polished game. I noticed a couple of bugs though. If you stand facing a wall and throw a buddy he goes through the wall making him unreachable. Also if you stand on your organs you can't jump, making it really difficult if you dies a couple times in the same location. All in all though a great entry.
Very cool. Just a heads up I had to rename the data folder in order to get it to play correctly.
@azzure - Thanks for the feed back. The heart beat rate is supposed to let you know how the fire is doing, but it's not very obvious. I've added that to the description.
Excellent game. I just blew an hour playing this thing. My only complaint is that it's not super obvious how to set up the conveyor belt. I accidentally set mine up taking the wood away from the furnace the first time.
This was a legitimately fun game to play. One of the best I've seen so far. Good job guys!
I like that the flashlight give you an idea of where the ghosts are but is there anything that let's you know where the broken things are, or a visual queue to let you know what is broken?
Good game. A couple things that I think could help would be an indicator the day before that states specifically if someone is going to die the next day. If you fail to feed a frog it let's you play 1 more day before it ends the game for you and there doesn't seem to be anything you can do in that time that would change that outcome. Also it would be nice to be able to skip to the next day once you are done planting and buying instead of having to wait for a clock to count down. That having been said it was a fun little game.
This is a great little game. Good work!
Good game. If I had one suggestion it would be to feed information to the player over time. The first screen hist you with a bunch of buttons that you have to memorize for skills that it doesn't appear that you start with, and no information on what those things are other than their key binding. Might be easier for the player if you start small, say just move and shoot, and then gradually introduce plant, heal and grenade in later waves.
This was great! One of the most fin games I've played. I love how simple the concept was. One thing that I think would be really cool to add would be a counter for the number of failed attempts or maybe even a score multiplier for getting it in the red zone after bouncing it off the end.
This an interesting idea for a game. Really nice implementation. I also went with a looping cultist theme.
This is a cool concept, but it seems a little too easy to wind up in no win scenarios based on how quickly you lose momentum, and it seems like based on how the map generates there are some levels that just start unwinnable. Maybe I'm just bad at it though. It would be really cool if there were some sort of mechanic that allowed you to re-build your momentum.
This was a really cool take on the theme. I wish I had thought of it. The post process effects were also a really nice touch.
Great game! really funny
This is a really cute game. I like your take on the theme. I couldn't really figure out what the advantage was to any one room over another, or what affected the score. Are you supposed to match certain people with certain rooms? Also I couldn't figure out what the combo meter at the bottom was supposed to do. Cute game but it could use some instructions.
Nice game. I'm really impressed that you made the engine. The art also fits it well. This seems like a lot of work for a compo game. Congrats on finishing.
This was great. I really like the art style and the game-play felt juicy.
@morphine Hey thanks for playing the game and leaving a comment! For anyone reading the comments in the future though you can increase the swing power by clicking on the on-screen buttons in the lower right corner. Controls.PNG
**edit:** which I'm also now realizing have a typo....
@morphine Ah, yeah. I was trying not to have the screen be too busy by adding too much text, but I guess it doesn't read as well.
@dninosores Oh man. Not sure why you can't. I'm pretty sure I checked those checkboxes when I set this page up, but it looks like I didn't and I can't change it now for some reason. oof
@dninosores Thanks for bringing the missing ratings categories to my attention. I was able to reach out and get that fixed!
This is great man! I played this for quite a while. It's a really clever take on the theme. I loved the everything crashed message when I attempted to use a beta version. My only real complaint is the snapping on the zoom. Maybe my mouse is garbage, but getting zooming in and out became a bit of a chore, and at one point my window got stuck at the most zoomed out level and refused to zoom back in so I had to restart the game. That being said though these are small complaints on a really cool game!
This was a fun and original game mechanic teamed up with a great art style and decent execution. Nice game and good job!
Congrats on getting that done in PICO8. I'm sure it was no easy feat. The game was good, and I really liked the opening montage.
That was a pretty cool game. I noticed there's a glitch when a balrog attacks where it says it's going to remove some miners but it never does. Also I was able to work out what did what, but it might be nice to have a little description of how the game works on the LD page.
This is really clever. I genuinely enjoyed it. I didn't make it very far though. It's decently difficult.
Hey I think My comments are going to echo a lot of the comments you are getting. The game looks great and plays well, but the controls feel pretty off. I'm not sure what the reason was for mapping the turns like you did, but it seems unintuitive. Also the mouse look feels really floaty in a unappealing way. But I will say that those flaws are overshadowed by the good qualities in the game and that this is overall a really decent entry.
This was a really interesting take on the theme. I liked it a lot. My main complaint though would be on user interaction. The scrolling of the text was way too fast if I clicked on the handle on the right and way too slow if I used the mouse wheel. It made getting through large amounts of text really cumbersome. Other than that though great job!
Hey looks like this is your first Ludum Dare. Don't get discouraged by bugs. Your game plays pretty decently for a first time entry, and you finished within the time limit which should be celebration enough in it's own right. Congrats on entering and good luck with your future games!
Your art is amazing. I really liked the shirt parachute mechanic. I only wish that the difficulty ramped up a little bit more as you got further down. I barely touched my controls and made it to the bottom with all of my hearts.
That was a really clever game. I enjoyed the key binging mechanics. It kept things from getting stale. Nice entry.
Hey thanks everyone who has played my game and given some feedback! I realize the game starts pretty easy but if you let it go for a bit the enemies spawn at faster and faster rates and the forks and knives fire faster and more accurately as time goes on. That having been said I probably should have sped that process up. Thanks for the feedback.
This is great. I love what you did with the theme. Game is super hard. Personal highest score was 77.
Wow that was definitely a concept I hadn't seen before. It's really clever and I think you did great things with it.
Cool game. The art style is nice and feels reminiscent of older 8 bit games. My only complaint would be with the controls. I feel like you intentionally made it a little difficult to turn around to help add gameplay difficulty, but due to that it's nearly impossible to look at an enemy without flying towards it. That mixed with a small screen size makes a lot of inadvertent collisions with things you are trying to shoot at. Overall though I think the game is really good.
This is really cool. I really dig the aesthetic and the gameplay is fun. I recommend adding some more instructions to the page though. The rules aren't self apparent.
This is a solid entry. I liked the main game loop and adding the ability to upgrade your skills between losses was a nice touch
This is a great entry. Probably the most fun game I've played this LD.
Great game. Great art. I think you did really well with this one. My only complaint is that there needs to be a little more feedback to the player. As the player if a shield is down, and my ship is on fire it's impossible for me to prioritize one over the other as I have no idea which is more important. I also feel like I'm doing things around the ship to improve the duration of my survival, but it's never really communicated back to me that what I did made any real difference.
Great game. Adding a leader board was a really nice touch. This is an amazing entry for a compo submission.
@spexxilove ha ha ha... well that's not supposed to happen...
@dingbat I think the trick to winning on hard is a combination of well placed barrels and dumb luck.
This is fantastic. I thought it was a good game but when I realized that there's multiple puzzles that took it up a notch. Are the puzzles procedurally generated? It's got a lot of character to the game. I played through 3 rounds and it took me longer than I would like to admit. Great job!
One thing of note though is there seems to be a bug coming out of dialog where runners can get stuck on top of each other and can't be moved after that. Capture.PNG
This is a simple concept executed really well. The little mechanics such as the time it takes to reload, the fact that you don't immediately stop when you quit falling and way the light reacts to the ledges really sell the game. You can tell that it's been well though out. Great job this is a really nice entry.
This is one of the most aesthetically pleasing game jams games I've ever played. It took me a minute to figure out that the sounds were key in determining if a tooth was safe or not. I got to a point though were I felt like I had tried every tooth at least twice and cleaned all the safe ones but nothing happened.
Interesting take on a minesweeper game. The color based mechanic was interesting and forced me to take chances I would have otherwise not taken. I think you were a little too generous with the extra lives but that might just be personal taste. I thought the audio really took this game to the next level though. good story telling through a minesweeper game.
This one was a lot of fun. Took a few tries to win. The Cinderseed is extremely fickle in what it's willing to eat. The art is great and I really liked how the music helped convey the sense of urgency. Well done!
This is pretty cool! Nice degree of challenge, good and consistent visual aesthetic, and well done audio. It felt really polished for a game jam game.
@beebster-games I think there may be a bug with how you are getting mouse location. Might have to do with different screen resolutions? If click on the puzzle nothing happens but if I click in the area to the left of the puzzle letters start changing color.
So after some trial and error I was able to click to the side and eventually solve some of these puzzles. The wife played with me and has a real knack for word puzzles. We managed to make it through 4 of them. Just a heads up There's a typo in the answer for the 4th puzzle which adds an extra bit of difficulty. Overall though we really enjoyed this game. This was a lot of fun. The music is also really well done. Despite sitting with the game for quite a while I wasn't tired of the music loop.
Neat game. I found the audio cues helpful, but a more detailed explanation of the rules might be useful.
This is a great entry! The take on the theme is really novel. I love the art it looks great!
This is a great idea with excellent execution. Nice job!
It's really hard to throw the food to the people. Is there a trick to it?
It's a cool concept. I think it might work better turn based. As it stands now the best strategy just seems to be to play cards the fastest.
Really clever concept. I found it a little frustrating that my towers could knock the ball closer to the cup as well as away from it. I'd also have to agree with some of the other comments that the game would be much improved with les of a straight shot map, but otherwise a good job!
Great game. I found it oddly relaxing. Its a great basis if you ever feel like going back and adding more variety to the weapons, plants, or ,monsters
It's a really nice touch that the enemies can pick up weapons. This game is fun but it would really benefit from the addition of a minimap.
Very well done. I agree with the other comments that you've found a great way to combine both the genres in a way that improves them instead of detracts from them. My only advice is that it's a little hard to see the power up against the background, and that pressing esc doesn't quit the game. Other than that great job.
