The mechanics are very original and fun but, as it has already been said, it's freakin annoying to start from the beggining every time you die. I'd have enjoyed the game much more (and completed it) if it wasn't this way
Very fun and addicting game. The web version doesn't seem to work and that might make some players make bad ratings or just leave.
The game is a bit confusing but fun and the idea is cool. But I've seen these sprites in this game www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/672796 so I guess they're from some free assets library. I don't know if Ludum Dare allows using assets that aren't yours (it's most likely against the rules) but at least you should mention it in the game or in the description. I'd rather see some bad graphics that took effort to do than sprites that you took from someone else.
Appart from that, the game is pretty cool, keep making games guys and read the rules next time! ;)
The visuals are very cool and nice and the audio is good and fits the game but the mechanics are a bit boring because the player doesn't have to make any hard decision or need any skill.
Amazing game! Maybe the concept wasn't very innovative but the game itself was super fun and the highscore really makes you want to play more. Good job
Great funny game and awesome music. The idea is very original but I only found one bonus (first to clap) which made it a bit boring. If there were other bonuses like clapping with the beat in certain parts or being the last to clap, etc, maintaining the original idea of only controlling the clapping, the game would be much more interesting. Other than that, the game made me smile and I found it very interesting. Good job!
This game is so fun! I think you could add plants improvements to do when you don't know what to do with seeds and also the ability to expand your base or make other ones would be pretty cool.
It was extremely laggy for me I don't know why. I didn't quite understand the game but everything else, the music, sound and art, are amazing! Good job
The mechanics remind me of the ones in my game! Everything else is pretty different, however.
This game was very fun to play and felt right but the graphics were a bit off. If you had removed that cross in the player's sprite and made the shooting effect and smoke effect(in the background) more simplistic, the art would've been much better for me, because it would have looked like a decision was made to make it simple. If instead some art is better and some is worse it just gives the sensation it hasn't really been thought about.
Appart from that the game is very good, just wanted to give some advice on art decision.
Too much for my intellect xD
The idea is very original and the graphics and sound are good.
The art is amazing and the idea is great too. I know you didn't have time, but some sound would be apretiated.
Good job
10/10 amazing game!!!
You guys surely make a good team. The art is incredible; the game design is well done, everything feels good including the learning curve; the visual effects also feel amazing and the music and sfx fit perfectly.
I'd like to give some constructive criticism but I haven't been able to find anything to improve.
This is so funny! xD
I love all the detail you added in the room but I can't understand the contrast of that with the flys.
Some platforms felt frustrating because you almost reached them but you didn't. I'd recommend putting the platforms either reachable or clearly unreachable so the player doesn't get frustrated. Also, I ended up having too much time left. You could've solved that by making the levels harder every time you complete one or making them give you less time. Other than that, the game is pretty fun and cool. I also love the smooth animation of the character, with its little bounce ^^.
I loved the concept of spending all your resources to make new tools with more speed and better odds. You as the player need to make the decision of either spend more time with your actual tools and hope you have good luck and get the rare resources or invest in better tools but losing all your current resources. That was the fun part, but the main mechanic, which was holding space, was freakin boring xD. If instead of pressing space you had some interesting mechanics the game would be much better.
One of the most original games I've come across on this Ludum Dare! The mechanics were simple but I hadn't sees them anywhere else before. The art is pretty cool too.
From far the best game I've come across in this Ludum Dare! Every detail was so cute and funny. I loved it how every enemy was something a kid would imagine he's fighting against. The idea and design are amazing. Congrats, guys!
To make this work you need to change the name of the downloaded file eresing the "7" so it is a .zip instead of a ".7zip". Then you will be able to open it.
Even if the game is an experiment or a test I'd recommend checking these kind of things to make sure your audience can play your game easly.
Good job! I think using C++ is much harder than using GM:S or Unity, and your game is much better than some games made with those so congratullatuions! :D It was pretty fun but maybe the feel of the game could be worked on a bit more. I mean making it pleasant when you kill an enemy and get to the goal and making the screen shake when you die.
I didn't know where I had to click so I was all the time clicking randomly. Just some cursor image change when hovering over actionable objects could've been enough to avoid that and would've made the game much better. The game is short and simple but the ending idea was original xD
Nice game but the mechanics aren't very original. I know it's hard but if the mechanics were a bit more original and fun it would stand out more and make a big difference.
Also try to implement some good game design in your games. That includes for example giving the player meaningful decisions to make. Choosing health or attack is fine but it's easy to know what's best in each situation. I'd recommend watching some talks on Game Design and Game Development, they will explain this things better than I.
I love this game, I even played it twice!!!
The art and music are amazing and the gameplay is very good too.
In my opinion the mechanics would be better if you moved instantly one tile every time you press the arrows (sticked to a grid) and the dash made you move 3 tiles or something like that. This way the game would be more about following the rythm (the closest you are to the beat the better score you get). That's just how I'd make it.
Still, amazing game and original idea. Very polished art. Good job guys.
The idea is fantastic and the gameplay too. One of the best games I've found here. I'd like it if you could change the distribution of the rooms once you've builded them so you can distribute them strategicly. The audio, idea, graphics, and everything is amazing. Good job!
Too spooky for me!
I had to stop playing cause the hunter scared me too much xD but the game is actually pretty cool.
I loved the bounciness of the star. The graphics were not very complex but kinda cute.
The controls sucked cause up wasn't up but diagonal and same with right, left and down. Why not just do a vertical and horizontal grid instead of a diagonal one!!! xD sorry for that
The game itself was pretty cool and even if the idea (pitch) didn't seem very original to me, the feel of it really amazed me. Every asset fit in the same mood and that's something hard to find in most LD games.
Good job, hope you get the 16 rates!
Overall it's a good game but I didn't like going back and forth to the lighting room. If there was some puzzle to descover what room to light up and the walk speed was a bit faster it would be much more fun.
The art, sound and music are great! The idea is good and original despite being a bit like tetris.
At first I didn't understand how to get to the next wave but I realised later. I should've read the instructions xD
The game seemed a bit boring until I discovered how to move your ship and get to the next wave. I love the concept and the simplicity of the mechanics. I love this game! Graphics and sound are not that amazing... but the game itself is really cool. I love it when games have such simple mechanics and so much depth and gameplay!
I saw your game on Rescue Chicken, I hope you get enough reviews. :D
Amazing game but the movement feels a bit wrong. I don't know exactly how to say it but I think it's the physics that make it feel unnatural. Probably changing some numbers will improve the game feel. Other than that, the game is fun and the art is nice, but adding some innovative mechanics would make it even better.
