I'm not really sure what I've watched but was cool nonetheless. Reminded me of Yume Nikki which can't be a bad thing.

I'm not really sure what I've watched but was cool nonetheless. Reminded me of Yume Nikki which can't be a bad thing.
Great use of the theme! I really found it fun despite the extreme simplicity.
The 3D pixel art is seriously awesome, as is the music.
Looks simple but it is actually an interesting puzzle game. Really dig it.
Nice game, wish I had someone to play it with.
I really like the concept. The execution is very fun, and it has a peculiar mood to it. I like it.
Nice little game! It becomes quite easy once you master the mechanics.
Slick controls and graphics! Reminds me of a simpler version of SPAZ which is a big plus to me :)
I love the concept!
Very beautiful game and wonderful mood. Gameplay is a little too simple.
I really like the concept and retro graphics! It's cool to see how elaborate a game can be even with such simple concepts.
I don't have a kinect so I can't play this but wanted to tell you I really love the concept and would like to try it out. Seems really cool.
Jump doesn't work :(
I'm stuck at the military gate and I don't know what to do to go on. Yes, I suck :( This is sad since I really like the feel of the game.
Really like it! Fun little concept.
Nice relaxing game. I dig the graphics and the music.
Cool new take on sokoban! Great job with the music.
The music is RAD! Gameplay maybe a little too simple but fun nonetheless.
Great job on the audio, really dig it!
Really, really like the game! Wish the mirror would move slightly faster though.
Very addictive! Really like it. And great music too :)
Very cool! This game would seriously benefit from a minimap though, since I've wandered at least two times around and lost without meeting any ship. Still, I felt compelled to try again, so props to you!
Like it! The noise gives it a nice touch.
Very fun! My only conplaint is that it is too easy to entrench on my home. Also, more enemy variety would make this awesome. Very addicting.
I really like the concept of an isometric platformer! Only issue I have, the jump button is WAY too sensible. I kept jumping over blocks instead of on them :(
Other than that, very charming, and amazing job with the audio!
Cool concept. One suggestion: red blocks should always be visible. This way it is less based on trial and error.
Great little game, fun and simple at the same time!
Well that's hard... I think you should make the character jump at least two blocks since this way it is too easy to get stuck in a pit and die. Still, very humorous and fun to play!!!
I love this concept, and very well executed. You should develop this further.
I like the idea but there are a few problems. Movement was stiff and unresponsive. Graphics are kinda dull and the absence of sound makes it lose a lot of charm.
NOOOO it crashes on start up (Windows 7 64bit) :(
I really wanted to try this out...
Ok, please disregard my stupidity, it looks like I just needed to download the XNA framework :D
Fantastic game with a really charming mood and interesting mechanic. I love how the fog dissipates when the level ends.
Nice! Simple yet fun. Would benefit greatly from some ambient music.
This is very fun! And amazing job on the music!
Very fun game, didn't expect that.
This is great! Funny dialogue and fitting graphics. Really has a style on its own.
Simple concept and very nice mood.
Hahahah fantastic concept!
Very nice concept! Gets quite repetitive without challenge though.
Very simple yet very fun. I think there sould be some powerup of sorts to spice up gameplay.
Really like the concept. You should really think about implementing this as an actual videogame why multiplayer if you can.
Holy shit I suck at it! Also I had some trouble finding where I was at first. Really like the use of minimalistic art style and the concept is very fun!
Great music, especially the one of the cube game. Not sure about the gameplay actually. I think that expanding the first segment alone would have been best. The three games together feel very incoerent.
I had to take a shit while playing the game so I could understand the feel of urgency of the protagonist. Now excuse me but I have to go shit furiously.
The intro made me LOL. The gameplay is great, simple yet fun, as it should be. Graphics and sould effects are very cool. Good job!
Very dark and depressing game, and interesting story too.
This was hard. Still, I like the concept.
These birds are stalking me. Their cold look on my shoulders actually make me uneasy...
Cool mechanics, but I don't understand why with high concentration I abstract stuff.
Took me a second to understand what's going on. Now I have to say I really like to concept! I'd dare to say that maybe mouse control would make it easier.
This is a cool concept but bad collisions really ruin it. Also, the sound effects drill into my brain...
The music is amazing! And as someone who has played stepmania for year I wish to play something a lot more difficult with this. Watching Mondrian owning the dance floor would be amazing!
Interesting style of game play, very fun to play. I like the music and voices :)
Very enjoyable puzzle game with interesting mechanics! Grat graphical stye and cool music but the sound effects are quite intrusive...
Very hard, and the story actually gives playing these little games some intensity :) Good job on the mood!
Only thing I don't like is the fact that some weapons are impossible to use unless you get hit in return (like the knife). And maybe it needs some balance tuning. Other than that I really like the concept.
I enjoyed it but there is very little to do other than mindlessy shooting stuff :)
Nice concept. Too bad it becomes insanely difficult way too fast. And bad collisions can be frustrating.
Doesn't run here :(
Windows 7 64bit
pyglet.py: unable to share context
Hey Zim, tried again to run the game and somehow now runs smoothly! Thanks for the help anyway.
Really like the concept of the game. Simple yet very fun puzzle game.
Love the concept, but the controls make the game very hard...
I like the fact about controlling two character at once, but it's pretty easy to get stuck and die.
Not sure what I have to do in this game (or IF I have to do anything at all). I seriously dig the minimal music. I would speed up the movement slightly to make it more dinamic.
I love the graphical style and smoothness of the animation on the main character. Also it is damned hard! Really enjoying this.
You are insane, a game in batch! Hahaha good job!
Nice! This would make a killer as an app game.
Wow, thanks immensely for the feedback guys! I'm sincerely surprised by the positive reactions.
@Exclamation Mark: I'm really sorry for this since it was one of the main things I wanted to avoid but it would have taken too much time to readproof all of it.
@patrickward: unfortunately no. I planned to at first but then I finished the script too late to actually implement anything else.
Sorry for the misspellings guys, English is not my first language so... Yeah :(
Word spell corrector unfortunately can't do miracles. If you guys can point out the misspellings and typos I'll release a corrected version.
@plash: thanks immensely for the feedback! I corrected the misspellings you pointed out. I'm still not sure what you mean with "make the response selector scroll with the selection" though.
Very nice idea! Minimalist yet interesting concept. I could see this work as an iPad game. As others have said, it is too easy as it is now.
Very frustrating when you reach a dead end and have to restart from the beginning. I like the simple visual style.
Nice concept! Really liked it.
I nearly fall asleep... Not because it's boring but because it's so hypnotic and relaxing. It's almost meditative in a way :)
It's actually more fun than it looks! Gameplay is basic but solid.
Very cool, unfortunately it is very hard to understand what is in one place even in I point the light at it. With a little polish this would be amazing.
I really like this game! A few details that I found should be corrected.
* It's way too easy to just skip ahead all the enemies, especially since it is so hard to hit them.
* The Fireballs shoot from too high, it's way more difficult to shoot stuff this way.
* You can cheat on mana regeneration by tapping space once in a while (I don't know if this was intended)
Other than that, I loved the concept! Simple yet requires some strategy.
That is pretty hard. Still, the concept is very interesting. And I agree with the others, the red screen burns into my retina...
The absence of sound made playing this really unnerving. I was crapping my pants all the way through so I guess you did your work right :) Good job!
Great use of the theme!
You did the minimalist graphics and sounds perfectly to me. Also very interesting new take on the classic formula, very enjoyable to play and challenging.
Nice take on tower defense games. Also pretty hard! And great music!
Very relaxing game and nice concept that actually fits the theme perfectly!
Well, that's very simple and becomes repetitive quickly.
Cool! I like it. Sometimes the spikes are hard too see though.
Great game! This is one of the best takes on minimalist gameplay I've seen so far. Simple yet extremely complex to master.
Really like the idea. It would make a fun multiplayer game :) Very nice minimalistic graphics.
That's some catchy music! Also great concept, I really like it.
Very stylish game. It is also very creepy. Fiths the theme perfectly. Full scores for me all around :)
A game in matlab? Crap, I wish my old laptop was still around to try it.
Very fun! I wish there were more levels actually. Fantastic use of theme.
I like the concept but it's annoying to press enter after each command. If done in real time this would be pretty fun.
A simple and fun formula done masterfully, really enjoy playing this old style hardcore platformers. Good job! Also, the music is rad.
Great little puzzle game!
Very cool concept and slick controls.
Hahaha, one line roguelike! Neat concept!
Very interesting concept but very buggy, crashed a lot when placing block. Still, with some polish this could be interesting.
This game is so bad I had to make a flash review about it!
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/558516
Jokes aside, sure it is minimalistic :) Great graphics and sounds. I like how it humors classic JRPGs.
Ok, now I'm sure a game can't be more minimalistic than that. I'm not sure if this an accomplishment or not. For sure it is original!
I really like the concept because it actually requires some strategy despite the simplicity of the mechanics, but I had quite an hard time understanding what those images meant. I mean, if you didn't write it in the description, I would have never deciphered any of them.
Really like the idea of playing as a traffic pirate :) Simple but it still is addictive. Maybe more variety would improve it.
Sexy voice in the main menu :D
Fantastic use of 3D audio. First game I've ever seen oriented to audiophiles.
This is very impressive indeed. You have to develop this further, I was hooked.
Very cool concept, and very well done! It's very challenging to play but when you get a score it really feels great.
It's a shame for the graphics. I'd really like to see a polished version of this. The writing is excellent and the story actually makes you think.
I really enjoyed this one. Nice take on golf games.
Very cool idea! And pretty fun too. Also really like the pinhole graphics :)
I love this game! Very fun puzzle and very addicting. You should really develop this further.
The music is CATCHY! I found myself to play while bobbing my head :)
The gameplay is nice but becomes boring rather fast...
Laughed at the title. The intro was fun :) It's very hard to break the glass around the souls, took me a while...
This is without a doublt one of the best and most fun games I've seen so far. Amazing concept in its semplicity and very addictive!
Very creepy mood. Nice sound and music! Wish I could say the same for the graphics.
Very nice animations and fun gameplay. The jumps are too low though, meaning that it's quite frustrating to get a jump right.
Nice game! I like the concept!
This is so charming! You did an amazing job at the graphics. Still, even though it was fun to go around the town the fetching quests never appealed to me.
This is actually a very cool concept. It gets insanely hard way too soon though.
Really like the visual style! It really demonstrates how you man make a cool concept out of simple controls. A cool soundtrack will create an excellent mood.
The sound effects get on the nerves with time (BEEP-BOP-BEEP-BOP). Other than that, really nice concepts and good use of minimalistic graphics. Really enjoyed playing it! Also, very nice minimalistic explaination of the mechanics :)
Interesting concept but it tends to get repetitive...
Music is great! It's actually better than I expected gameplay wise.
Very cool concept! But the controls are unintutive.
This is not a game, it's a trip into... I'm not sure what exactly :)
I had no idea what the hell I was doing but I was having fun while doing it.
Slick controls and perfect collissions make this a winner for me. Pure platforming goodness :)
The graphics and sound design are seriously amazing.
I'd love to have a 26 player match.
All I get is a white screen :(
I laughed out loud more than once, so that's a plus :D I found it relied too much on trial and error but still, it was a lot of fun.
I love the music, and the gameplay is surprisingly fun for such a simple mechanic.
Lovely music and fun gameplay!
Thanks for the feedbakc everyone! I updated the game, now the controls should be a little sharper and bug free. I have still no clue what creates the fading at the start of the level since I was unable to recreate the bug :/
This is an amazing accomplishment for just 48 hours! Holy shit, good job.
This is quite an amazing game! Really enjoyed it.
Nice idea, but it is quite easy to understand who you are once you get the mechanics.
I love the graphical style! Regarding gameplay, fighting is quite difficult since there is no way to fight without getting hit and it is actually better to just flee.
Love it! Very fun! And getting an headshot is strangely satisfying, so you may have something there.
I found it too confusing to be enjoyable. Maybe giving more hints during gameplay would make it simpler. Still, a solid entry.
Wow, amazing atmosphere and music! Gameplay is fun, although it gets very hard rather quickly, but I believe this is a good thing.
Nice game, reminded me of typing of the dead (and also of how nerve racking it was).
Amazing! Very fun to play and great cure to details.
Surprisingly addictive for how simple it is! Really enjoyed it.
Interesting idea, enjoyed the execution. Nice music too! (on a side note, thanks for Moonscript because it is the main reason I was able to complete my first LD48)
I hate you button.
Nice game! Very hard too! Only thing I dislike are the sound, a little too invasive. Graphically it is great, very old school, and gameplay is great! I'd work on a complete version adding the stuff you wanted.
That's a little unfair, 1000 against one :)
Lovely music. Gameplay is a little basic and the controls are a little slippery.
Argh, lost with 5 seconds remaining! Weirdly addicting game, considering its semplicity, I like it.
I don't understand the controls. As soon as I press any key the character starts waving left and right and doesn't respond. Should I be doing something in specific?
Nice animation and visual style, and funny too! But I didn't have a clue what I had to do with each stage, and I thought that the music was a little annoying after a while, but that may be just me...
Very fun and interesting game! Reminds me of dark souls, where you have to discover a strategy to beat a boss and implement it. Very fun!
I really enjoyed it. My only gripe with it is that movement is a little slow and that it is quite easy, since you just have to avoid the projectiles and the white ghost does all the job for you. Otherwise it was fun to explore and the final boss has some interesting attack patterns. Nice!
There were a few things that bugged me, for example the fact that I have to click on ok when there is a new dialogue (just clicking anywhere on the screen should do the same), and the dialogue felt a bit off. But aside from that, I found it to be an interesting experience with a peculiar feel to it.
Nice! Loved the graphics and audio. My only complaint is that graphics have very little contrast, at first I thought it was just a black floor while it has a lot of detail. Gameplay is interesting but enemies easily swarm you so it's easy to get killed. It's not that annoying but it still hinders exploration a bit. Atmosphere is superb, loved it. Great game overall, good job!
There isn't much gameplay wise, but it's compensated by a quite powerful story. I really got immersed in it. Wish it had some music for atmosphere.
Hah, nice twist on the theme. Gameplay is fun and graphics are charming.
I found gameplay not very interesting, and controls were quite frustrating. I don't understand why I have to press one direction for more than a secont to move in that direction. This combined with tight corridors makes the game hard to play and not fun. Still, music is great and loved the humor :)
Great graphics, great gameplay and addicting qualities. This game is awesome.
(Ed è bello vedere una entry fatta da compatrioti!)
Heh nice! It is way more fun than I tought it would be. The music makes the whole thing very dramatic.
A weirdly emotional atmosphere in this one! Loved it. As others have noted, timing is a little off in the intro. Gameplay itself is smooth but maybe a little repetitive and without a goal in sight it doesn't motivate to keep playing. Amazing visuals and music, and great polish overall.
I'm not sure how it fits the theme, and I'm not sure what should I do either! It's been 5 minutes and still I haven't reached the top.
Hmm... Cool game, but how does this fit the theme? All I can see is a 1... Wait a second... Oh you! :D
Well, there isn't much to say here. Graphics are great.
You have a very sleep inducing voice :) The intro is really too long, I would have gotten to the point faster, and with slimmer dialogue. But the concept itself is interesting.
The concept is nice but it should be way faster.
Heh, nice concept. There wasn't much choice but still made me laugh.
I feel that making you have only one life and having to restart from the start menu every time is quite frustrating. The platforming is quite broken, it is very hard to do even the simplest jump. I tried a few times but I couldn't finish even the first stage...
It puts a smile on your face, but I felt that controls are a little clunky and since you need prcision in some parts it can get frustrating fast.
Interesting concept. I found it very fun to play.
I really like the concept but the implementation is a little clunky. Teleporting does not respond as one would expect, and I wish time between death and restart was a little shorter. The learning curve is too steep and it should be smoothen out to get confident with the control, I really enjoyed the music and the general mood of the game!
Very interesting concept. Simple yet very addicting. I really enjoyed it.
I have found a bug, at one point I was under the floor, somehow. Aside from that, I'm not sure what the objective is, or if there is one, but I liked the enemy design. And the music is great!
Even though there isn't much gameplay per se, that simple moment is quite intense. Great audio choices, and nice visuals. Story is emotional but the ending part gets a little too long, to me at least. Great job!
Hmm, tried to play it but program is not responding. Anyone knows ehat the cause may be?
That was an interesting experience. Not much in gameplay per se, but it had a unique feel to it. Great visuals. Really enjoyed it.
Controlling the jetpack only with the mouse is very difficult, I could hardly get past the first few screens. But the frezing gun is very cool! Also, love the visual style and music!
Crashes on launch for me, any idea on why this happens?
Very hard, but in a good way. Amazing visuals. Music got a little on my nerves after a while, but that might just be me. Great game, one of the best ones I've played so far.
Great concept, tight controls and very interesting mechanic. I got stuck when there are the orange squares because I needed to jump into a red square, losing my jump and getting stuck. Don't know if I'm missing something though.
While I like the concept, I find impossible to get throught the game if I can't see one single pixel in front of me. If you could add the canche to see even a little bit what's ahead of you it might be interesting to play, but as it is right now it's just frustrating. I really like the atmosphere.
Interesting take on the "one bullet" implementation. I enjoyed it. It had a comic book quality to it, maybe because the "loading" screens reminded me of sin city. Great mood and fun gameplay.
Tight controls, I enjoyed it. Nice puzzle game.
A powerful experience, for sure. While there isn't much in it to call it a game, it has a way of conveying a message through the mechanics that is very strong, and I like it. I personally wouldn't have gone with such a dark interpretation of the theme for a Ludum Dare but I am happy to have played it.
Sounds are a little loud and I think batteries should be bigger and pop out from the background more. I thought they were a particle effect at first! But aside from that gameplay is entertaining even if a little too simple, gets quite repetitive fast.
The controls are too frustrating. I had to stop playing after a while because it took me two minutes to get a jump right. It makes the game frustrating. But I enjoy the idea and the implementation.
The concept is interesting, but switching between modes feels a little clunky. I wish the movement was little bit faster. There are a few bugs and the game crashed both times I tried to play it so I couldn't finish it, sorry...
I lov the graphics and audio, really outstanding, however there are a few things that I found annoying. First time around, I didn't notice there was a time limit when you have to choose the culpript, so I waited too long and had to watch the whole intro scene again without a chance to skip it. And I don't think that a time limit works well for a game of this kind. Also, I'm not really sure if there are enough clues to understand who the culpript is without some trial and error. Aside from this, I really enjoyed the game and atmosphere it created.
Fast and intense, but way too hard for me! I wish time limits were a little more forgiving. Still, a very polished experience, shooting feels good, liked it.
WTF? Hahah, surely I didn't expect something like that, especially the audio. It has an interesting atmosphere, I like it! My only complaint is that the models are a little misleading, I didn't think that those ladies would be an enemy, I thought of thm more as a paesant. And the end level thing surely doesn't resemble a goal! But apart from that I found it interesting.d
The game wasn't as interesting and fun as I thought it would be, unfortunately.
Amazing amount of polish for such a short development time. Game feels very smooth and is fun to play.
34% not too shabby :) Very enjoyable small game.
This is an amazing concept very well executed. My only complaint is that once you get the "trick" so to say, it get rather easy. Still, it is very interesting to see the cubes get into shape.
Heh, I knew there was going to be at least a game with this idea, given the theme. Loved the music, gameplay is, well... THe title explains it rather well :)
This is the best entry I've played so far from any ludum dare, I'm not even joking. Differently from others, I really like the fact that you have to walk back to the boss, it gives time for some thinking about strategy and gives more importance to the boss fight.
Graphics and audio are just superb. Love the overall atmosphere, reminded me of shadow of the colossus, which you were inspired by I guess.
I found a few glitches but anything relevant, for example I can walk through the statues before the northern boss like they are flat on the floor, probably some collision box missing.
The titans themselves are amazing, I love how you have to think out of the box to fight them. I found them a little too agreesive, so timing has to be very precise, so it can become frustrating to find that sweet spot.
Overall, amazing game. Really enjoyed it.
This was quite amazing to be honest. one of the most atmospheric ld entries I've played so far! Music and atmosphere is just top notch, amazing job. The controls are tight. My only complaint is that the games get a little bit dull in its later stages (slow movement doesn't help), and redoing the whole fall before the final boss if you die is quite annoying. The story is engrossing and atmospheric and the pacing was perfect. All in all an amazing job, be proud of it.
Just fantastic! First 5* for theme I've given so far.
Woah a metroidvania? That's impressive for 48 hours of work. Good job! One of the best entries so far.
The intro is just awesome! There is a lot of cure for sound and I like it. Gameplay is a little clunky.
Superb game! Had fun playing for quite a while :)
Graphics and music are just awesome! I was confused at first cause I though I controlled the guy. ameplay is interesting but can become monotonous.
It's cool to see a game made with the Blender game engine! I wasn't able to find the secrets though.
The dialogues are very funny, enjoyed them. These "hold the breath" games somehow manage to scare the crap out of me every time. Nice job!
The concept is interesting but the gameplay needs some twieaking. Getting too close is too dangerous cause you will lose as soon as your turn into a girl. The only possible thing to do is run but you can't run that much so there isn't much you can do.
The graphics are lovely!
I really dig the visual style, and it's actually quite engaging when you understand the mechanics.
Fun and addicting, and the graphics are charming. I enjoyed it a lot!
That made me WTF pretty hard in the end. I really enjoy the graphics, really pleasant on the eyes.
Interesting use of the theme! Gameplay is challenging and interesting.
That was Hysterical! I loved it!
I had to look at the source, I don't think i's possible to win otherwise. At first I thought it was a game where you had to guess a specific word he was thinking but that wasn't the case.
Controls are responsive and it is fun to play. But I got frustrated when I got far into the level and died, having to do everything from the start. Very hard! I really dig the music.
Well, not much to say here... The visual style and mood are great.
The concept is great, I wish the sprites were a little bigger cause it's quite hard to have fine control when you have a hard time even seeing stuff.
Well shit, that was impressive. Amazing job for a weekend for sure! Graphics are amazing and gameplay is not innovative but always fun. And the humor is just fantastic :D
This is a really fun game with great controls, I really like it.
This was very fun to play. I'm really enjoying it. There are a few bugs in the jumping mechanics but hey that's to be expected.
Nice game, reminds me of the chocobo treasure hunt in FFIX :D The fact that you can get killed and have to restart from the beginning is quite annoying to be honest.
@TaoPhoenix What browser are you using?
The concept is very interesting. Of course it needs some fleshing out, but I think it has some potential.
Doesn't load :/
This is a very cool idea, but very hard. The ball seems to fly away quite easily, hm. Stil, I love the originality!
Interesting gameplay and nice visuals! Reminds me of geometry wars.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this game. it was cool to swim around and see groups of sardines and jellyfish. It was great to just swim around. Gameplay wise, I found the "press tab to move" thing a little exhausting after a while, and eating fish was very hard. Also, aside from the achievements, there isn't really an incentive to keep playing. Still, good job!
Some music here would have been killer! The controls are fluid and the fights are fun. I enjoyed it!
Is this procedurally generated? If so you did a great job for only 12 hours! Gameplay is actually quite interesting although a little barebones. If you flesh it out it could become quite interesting.
Great visuals and simple but tight controls, I like it. Maybe spicing up the challenge a bit can help.
For some reason after a while the mouse buttons stop working... I had to restart the game at least a couple of times. Apart from this, I like the concept. Ambients are a little barebones but that's to be expected from 48 hours of work... Puzzles are interesting but not really challenging. Still, it is a very interesting take on the theme.
It seems like what ever I do I die :/ Still, I like the concept and the graphics :)
Best entry I've played so far! I finally was able to beat the final boss! Very satisfying and challenging gameplay. The graphics are great and the sound effect snappy. Love it!
Woah, amazing job on the visuals, animations and sound! The animations in particular are incredible! I find controlling the character with the keyboard and shooting with the mouse to be a little difficult, I would prefer to have complete control with the keyboard or the possbility to move the screen with the mouse. Wonderful mood, good job!
Innovative idea! I like it.
Interesting atmosphere, but gameplay is a little tedious. Running around corridors with the same texture can get dull. Still, nice idea and good game. Also great sound effects.
Wow, amazing work! I really like the visual style and the music. Gameplay is fun but maybe a little too slow paced...
Hmm, that went on for a while and nothing happened. Still, somehow it has a quite tense mood, so I guess it's enough to celebrate!
Controls are great and the game is challenging but I didn't feel it was frustrating. I quite enjoyed playing it. Audio is great!
I loved the mood in your game. The instructions through the voice add quite a lot to the immersion. But I didn't find the exit and got lost in the deep blue sea :(
Interesting gameplay, I enjoyed it. I like the textures in particular. Controls aren't very responsive so building something is very hard.
Very nice atmosphere! Gameplay is quick and intuitive, I like it. I wish i could move while I shoot though. It becomes very hard very quickly.
I love the way the scene has been built in 3d, very well done. Gameplay is a little dull to be honest... The music fits the game very well though.
Well shit that's hard. I like the idea though! Maybe it's a little overwhelming at first.
Interesting combination of stealth and puzzle game! I quite enjoyed it.
Amazing visuals! But it's very very hard. I keep dying to the first enemy. I don't understand why either because I've killed the skeleton and I still die :/ Also, the main character is very small and it's very hard to understand what is going on and dodge attacks.
Very nice atmosphere. I'm not a fan of this style but that's just persnal preference, it's very well done. Story is quite confusing to be honest. Still I enjoyed it.
Love the general atmosphere and music, very immersive. Gameplay is interesting and I enjoyed it, maybe controls are a little hard to master at first but nothing to worry about. Great use of the theme IMO.
Very interesting idea! Minmalistic and yet requires strategy! Graphics and sound effects are a little bare bones but that's to be expected for 2 days of work. All in all I enjoyed it.
Amazing atmosphere and awesome graphics. I wish there was a clear goal since it can become repetitive quickly.
Very cool game. I found it confusing cause I instinctively wanted to avoid the red things and catch the triangles, so when the game got faster I always died because I was reaching for the triangle :/ Still very good job, I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Now I want some pizza. The gameplay itself is original but not very fun to be honest, I found clicking on each letter a little tedious... Story was funny.
Amazing graphics! You did a good job with the visual style.
I couldn't get past the river though, I've tried for more than five minutes now :/ The concept is interesting but some more direction for the player would make it easier IMHO
Ok now I feel stupid :D It's easy to miss the rock in the water cause the fact that you can see objects that aren't there by squinting isn't introduced before. Now I've finished it and enjoyed it quite a bit, well done!
I like the visuals a lot for some reason. Gameplay is a little repetitive after a while since there isn't no real challenge...
I love the low poly graphics style and the controls are great. Gameplay is fun but gets a little repetitive...
The controls are very hard to master, the cursor moves around too fast. The concept is interesting and well executed though.
Very interesting concept. I would spice up the challgenge a bit after a while cause it can become easy. Very nice visual style!
Very fun but gets almost impossible because of the weird controls. I wish I could beat it but after three tries I get destroyed by the third stage. Still, it's a well done game and with some polish it can be very enjoyable!
Controls are a little slippery. The concept is funny but needs a little tweaking IMHO. I love the music and the dark humor!
I love the sound effects, but gameplay is a little barebones.
This is very profound under its minimalistic aspect. I really enjoyed it. 5 stars for mood.
Very original gameplay! My only complaint is that it's easy to get stuck in a place where you don't get more spells, but that's probably cause I suck. FOr 48 hours that's an amazing achievement!
I like the idea but there are a few things that make playing it difficult. The sprites are extremely small compared to the screen size making hitting anything quite difficult. And the enemy projectiles are quite fast so it's very difficult to avoid them. I like the smaller details, like for example the fact that when you hit the walls they destroy.
For some reason the game graphics glitch at startup and I can't play it :( I have windows 64bit
Ok first a couple of suggestions. Since this is a text heavy gama, i would use a bigger portion of the screen for the text, use a slightly bigger font and use a serif font which is easier on the eyes for long texts. That's my personal preference at least.
Apart from that, the writing is excellent! Well rounded characters and interesting story. The graphics are a bit dull after a while and it's difficult to distinguish between the various buildings. Also I don't think that grey map really fits with the colourful writing. I would add a little bit of colour here and there to break the monotony.
Overall it is a great experience and I really enjoyed it! Sound and atmosphere are just amazing, good job.
I found it a little too slow paced but besides thatit was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Nice job for 2 days! I agree with the others, some sound would have been amazing. The text was really confusing cause I could not control it so i didn't know if it was dialogue or a description of the object.
I really like the idea, the game is challenging and interesting, I like it. One little complaint I have is that when you dash you should do so in the direction given by the WASD keys, not by the pointer of the mouse since it's less intuitive. Aside from that, I really like it.
It's very hard. There are way too many enemies to get through, and the fact that you have to start from the beginning every time makes it quite frustrating. Also I wish the sprites were a little bit bigger.
This was very touching, I loved it.
The mechanics are interesting and I love the vocoded narrator :D
Only commplaint I have is that the controls could be more precise, it's not immediate to get the right diagonal.
A gameboy game! You sir are awesome!
That was a psychedelic experience, loved it! Not much to say gameplay wise, unfortunately.
Hahaha, that is an original and interesting idea! I like the concept of the game, and gameplay is quite fun! The graphics are very polished too. I found it a little too easy though, and controls could be improved.
It's very interesting what this theme brought into the compo. THis is a very interesting take on the theme, Maybe gets a little too repetitive. As usual for your games, the level of polish and control is stunning!
I like the concept. The controls are very slippery, it's hard to control and make the game frustrating, especially when trying to jump on very small platforms...
I like the idea but it needs to be developed further. Gameplay isn't evry engaging and there are a few technical problems that prevent the game from being enjoyable...
The aesthetics and controls are beautiful, remind me of old gmeboy platformers, love it! Gameplay though could use some beefing up...
I like the different powerups that come up. Movement is frustrating thought, wish there was diagonal movement and higher speed since it feels quite slow and powerups disappear before I can get to them. Also it's not really clear what you have to do in each level at first.
It has a great mood despite the simplicity of the graphics. That breathing... :O
Gameplay is a tad confusing tbh.
Unique concept, maybe needs to tweak the speed of words a bit, but I think it is interesting and fun.
Ok, I laughed, that was quite humorous. I would make so that when another line of dialog starts, the old one stops, since there were a few times where two audio tracks overlapped and I could not understand a thing :D
I like the art. The controls are clunky and attacking is not very useful, most of the time it's better to just skip ahead.
The concept is original. I found it very hard though, I could not get past the bees.
Very interesting game, much deeper than i would have thought at first! I think it is quite fun, maybe a little slow.
I like the multiple attacks. I believe the sprites should be a lot bigger, it was hard to understand what was going on! And I could barely see the shurikens at all.
Also it felt too button mashy for my tastes, I like enemies that require different strategies, but the enemies just charge head on...
I really like the music.
Interesting mechanics. Later blocks dynamics are a little confusing, but I completed it anyway so I guess it's just an impression.
I love the concept. Maybe needs a little beefing up but that's normal from a LD game!
The concept is interesting but it's wayyy too hard to be enjoyable, at least for me! I can hardly get past the first maze!
Woah that's hard!
I thought that the mechanic is interesting, but I think it should be fleshed out a bit cause it isn't very engaging like it is right now.
Also, there are a few times where it is impossible to survive because the floor that doesn't go away is unreachable , which makes it frustrating.
Best thing is the music and graphics. Reminds me of old school arcade games like tempest.
Music and graphical style are fun, but the gameplay is confusing and clunky. Things became easier after watching the video. I suppose it emulates games like surgeon simulator but I'm not a big fan of that kind of games. Still, it' pretty fun overall and enjoyed it.
I love the concept and it should be developed further. Right now it doesn't have much gameplay, but it's still fun to experiment with various starting combinations.
Graphics and sound are awesome, good job!
This game is really fun and has an interesting mechanic going on for it. I really like the fact that you can choose an upgrade after each scheme, and the choice adds depth and variety to the gameplay. I also like the fact that the enemies have varied attack patterns.
Only complaint I have is that arena should have some obstacles and more variety to make the gameplay more interesting.
Heh, fun little clicker game! Maybe it's more enjoyable on a touch device cause I was getting a strain in my wrist at one point :)
Beautiful to look at and great music.
I found the hitboxes to be hard to hit, especially when I want to repair the windows. It requires at least 3 clicks before he starts repairing it.
Also I think that it would benefit from more strategy in gameplay, the only thing you have to do is harvest and repair, without much limitations. It would be fun to have a more challenging resource management.
The mood is effective and sucks you in.
Fun little game! Thought gameplay was too basic for my tastes...
Fun little game! Maybe different enemies or powerups would add some variety to the gameplay.
Nive little game. I found it very enjoyable despite the simplicity. The need to switch the swatter makes the game deper than a mindless clicker which I like.
I am still not sure what the unconventional weapon is... Knocking on someone's door? lol
Wow, first 5 stars for mood for me, so far! The game is seriousy gorgeous, and I'm a sucker for this dark/moody style.
Gameplay is a little simplicistic, but can be improved easily.
Thank you, it was great!
The game is hilarious, I especially like when the ninja flies off! Gameplay is a little lacking overall though, and the controls are wonky. But I guess that is on purpose, to emulate QWOP type gameplay (I guess?)
@2kah: Thank you, fixed :)
@Franklin's Ghost: fixed, there was a problem when resetting, now should be fine.
@syawqy: alright, changed control scheme to z for charging and x for swinging, maybe it is better now.
I like the idea. I found it a little too hard to see the mosquito since it has very little contrast with the background. I don't know if this was intentional or not. Also the fact that the lighter doesn't light up immediately is quite frustrating because I can't really control when to shoot.
But in the end I liked it :) It was fun and the graphics are well done!
Very cute graphics, animations are lovely, and the concept is really funny :)
It is very very hard. I've tried for more than 5 minutes now, dying maybe 6 times, but I was never able to calm the beast down. Still, gameplay is very fun and I really like it.
Only complaint I have is that when the monster turns it is very hard to predict so I end up getting hit. Also, a two hand configuration would feel easier to play with.
Very interesting visuals, I wished there were more animations in there. The mechanics are interesting, but I found that sending the gems where I wanted them to is way too hard. I had to retry some rather simple shots a lot.
Also the controls of the character are kinda clunky.
Aside from that, I really enjoyedit.
Amazing game, nothing to say. My only complaint is maybe that movement is a little slow, but then it wouldn't be badass :)
Had a laugh at the ending.
The base mechanics are well done, it is super fun to shoot through the terrain. I wish there was a little more variety thought.
Excellent game, my only complaint would be about the controls that don't feel really "thight", not that they are bad but I felt that to put the player in the position I wanted it was harder than expected.
Other than that, I really love the game, especially the mechanics and the mood.
I always like some typing game :) But I'm not sure how can I win? I saw that after a while words stopped appearing, so I got hit and lost.
I think it would be cool if they said some magical formulas, but that's just an idea.
Really great game, I love to see rhytm games in the compo. The concept of the game is weird lol. Maybe it is a little too easy?
BTW I got a 272 combo!
Wow, I have to say that given the simplicity of gameplay, it looks nice. Gameplay is fun but maybe a little too simple? Still, I had fun so that's was it matters, I guess :)
Also I really like the overall mood of the game.
My only complaint is that it is a little predictable so it is quite easy.
Whoa, that's hard! I can't go past 15 kills before I get swarmed ad die.
Lovely graphics, music and sound effects are a little underwhelming to be honest.
All in all I like it :)
A really fun steath game. I really enjoyed playing through it. It is quite challenging though.
Wow that's hard! I love it, it's a pretty interesting take on the "throwable" genre, very fun. I lost on hole 5 :/
Only thing that irks me is that the animation for the alien when it destroys the town is a bit long. But that's a pet peeve more than anything else.
Lovely game! Reminds me of the games I used to make in Super Pascal in the '90 :D
I like the concept of multiple weapons and different enemies to use them on, but the controls are a little clunky, but probably it's just because I'm not used to them since they actually make sense.
The beep and boops are lovely!
The mood in the game is great. Gameplay is a little too simple though. Also, I feel that the goal takes a little too much to reach, and the fact that dying brings you back to the beginning is not necouraging me to play more :/
But the explosion and the scenery in the complex is quite badass honestly.
My only complaint is that the controls aren't tight enough and feel slippery, but since the game doesn't require precise platforming and given the nature of gameplay, this can be forgiven easily.
I really like the concept. It is very fun!
Those poor dogs D:
I am not sure I get the controls. I try and move and I move somehow but I don't really get how. The atmosphere is sick though!
Cool little game, I love it. I think though it needs some balance cause it is rather easy to exploit the mechanics, even if there is a joke ending. I laughed out loud at the ending.
I can see where you took you inspiration :)
The game was excellent, super well designed and with a superb visual style. Only thing that I found really annoying is that the stamina bar could be anything but back. i didn't even notice I had the bar cause it blended with the background.
But aside from this, I loved it. It is impressive to think you did this in a weekend.
Nice little game! I thought that destrying everything was more fun that delivering pizzas, heh. The pizza building should stand out more, as others have mentioned.
I like the controls, which are very precise. Maybe gameplay is a little simple to be honest, but the screen shake when you throw down the building is quite fun. It would be cool if when you throw down a bigger building there is a bigger shake.
Oh my god, the drawings style and animations are lovely!
I found a bug though, when the girls pets it and then I scare them again, she remains in the same position petting it but then it says game over. I don't know if that is meant or not?
Wow, the mod in this game is devastating. The polish you put into this game is amazing, great job. I just wish it was a little more complex gameplay wise, but everything else make up for it easily.
I like the mechanics, it is pretty fun to play as the enemy you just killed. The graphics are great, I really dig them. Controls were nice but a little hard to master, I have died a couple of times because of this.
I really really like the controls in this. They feel quite realistic, especially how the bird takes speed when floating. they are hard to control but they are not too hard to get used to. Very well designed.
Super fun game as usual!
Excellent use of the theme! To me it was not obvious that I am controlling the monster, I thought that it was a platformer on rails or something like that. I thought this because I saw the hero in the intro and I thought I was cotrolling him. Anyway, the gameplay is quite nice and clever, I really like it!
This was a fun take on the theme. I really like it, and made me laugh.
I could not finish it because of the inventory bug you talk about. It is a shame cause I really like the game! The graphics are amazing and the mood of the game is super.
The game is quite interesting. Great mood and sound effects. Gameplay is a little too simple, and I found it annoying that I could not move faster than the other guys cause it meant that if I didn't catch a guy first I could not catch him anymore. Besides that, this was an enjoyable game :)
I like the game, but I find that the controls are not very responsive considering it is an action game. I died more than once because of them, and it was annoying. I loved the story, and I think it is the best part of this game.
The mechanics are quite fun. Only thing I would add is the possibility of rolling while walking. The enemies are too easy though, it would be cool to see more strategy. But I realize time is short :)
Graphics are a little barebones, but I think they fit the gameplay nicely.
The amount of graphical polish in the game is astounding! Seriously it looks like a completed game. You did a great job on the visual design. Audio is lovely too. Controls were a little clunky to be honest, and gameplay wasn't super challenging, but I feel those are easily fixable. Great game!
It is an interesting concept and it is quite fun, but I think that the speed of the rotation was a little high and was quite difficult. Maybe let the speed of the direcion increase speed with each level? Also, when I hit an enemy, they do not disappear immediately, which leads me to think that I didn't hit them for a second when in fact I did, which can be quite confusing.
Ok, now I understand :D
I liked the graphics, which were minimalistic but fitting to the game. The gameplay was simple but effective, especially thanks to the end twist. I liked it!
Pure mayhem, I love it!
The game has an excellent visual style and control. I love the way the snake moves, it is almost lifelike. I don't really get thought what those cogs are there for. I thought they were enemies, but then I touched them and nothing happened. And also I don't see how it fits the theme. But apart from this, it is very nice.
A nice little puzzle game! The mechanics are intuitive and fun, and the dialogue really made it more fun! I like it
The graphical style is impressive, it is very polished for a jam game. I really dig it. Maybe after a while, the two color graphics start to hurt the eyes a little though. The mood is out of this world, I really like the world. The game is very punishing though, it is very hard to balance one's resources. Also i feel it is a little repetitive. But those are minor annoyances, cause I think the game is very very good.
I like it, the gameplay is a little simple but it is fun and enjoyable. The graphics are great, and the intro is pretty damn funny!
Nice game! The concept is funny and fun to play. It can also get quite hard with the later levels. I thought the controls were good, didn't have any problems.
Simple but interesting game. I wish there was more depth to it though! The atmosphere is nice.
I like the artstyle but I have to say it is a little confusing, it is hard to understand what you can interact with and what not. But it is just a minor annoyance. The story is interesting and I really liked the general mood of the game.
This is so damn creepy, ti reminds me of yume nikki for some reason. I guess it is because of the weird imagery. Anyway, this game was quite cool, and the gameplay basic but fun. I like it!
The controls are too slippery for the amount of control required for the platforming! It was very difficult. But the short checkpoints mitigate some of the frustration. The idea behind it is fun, I like it!
This is very fun even thouhg it is very simple. i like it. The sound effects add quite a lot of atmosphere too.
This is just outstanding! I love this game, it is simple but so much fun! The mechanics are simple, but it gets very challenging towards the end. I really like it. The music is the cherry on top of the game, it is fun and lovely to listen to!
I like the game but there are a few things that I found annoying. For example, I didn't know I had to click on something when flying to abduct it, I found it by chance. Also, the levels are very big and I had more than once to go around the level without knowing if I was going anywhere at all.
Apart from this, the concept is really fun. It is cool to pick up your power one at a time.
Tons of little details to like in this game! I especially like the bootup sequence, like if it loading a cartridge of a game.
The gameplay is a little simple, but still fun. The controls are hard for me, but I guess it is me not being used to this firpst person in third person controls :) I didn't mind the music though.
Heh, I just realized that the game runs on a virtual console, so yeah, the cartridge thing technically is not part of the game. I didn't know about this pico 8 console, looks fun. Makes the game even more impressive in my eyes, considered the limitations. Good job!
Nice! Funny and fun to play. Only thing I wish was if there were more than one attack, but for 48 hours this game feels very polished. Good job!
This is amazing, seriously. I like the atmosphere and the graphics, and the gameplay is intuitive but fun. Thick atmosphere. It feels very polished overall. Only thing that may be fixed though is the difficulty, the game is quite unforgiving in the current state.
Great mood in this game, really digged it. A very relaxing experience.
Lovely game! The graphics are great and so is the music. It is pretty hard to play though cause you have your eyes on one side to catch the sphere, and on the other you need to look where to shoot, so ti can be quite distressing.
Amazing game, as usual! I would even dare this is the best game you have done so far.It is so much fun, and has a strategic quality to it that is particularly addicting.
This is a super fun game! I found it really enjoyable and fun, and I think you did a great job with the visual style too.
Great little game! I really dig the mechanics, even if the hooks fee a little too springy, but maybe that's just me.
A funny and interesting take on the theme. I think the way you control the bar is quite original and fun, but I found the light to move way too fast and too randomly to allow for any fine control. It would be great if you had to do some specific exercise, like jumping in a specific pattern.
Holy shit, this is some polish you have added to a game in such a short timespan!
I really dig the graphical style and the overall mood. The gameplay is simple but effective, taking full use of the theme. Good job!
Very polished, fun and humorous game! I loved it, one of the best entries I've played so far.
Wow, this is an easy 5 stars in innovation. Very nice idea.
The animation and graphics are incredible, and the gameplay is simple but fun. Feels very polished. To me it is one of the best games I've played so far.
Wow, I really like how you used the theme! I think you did a really good synergy of both themes. The gameplay is fun and not repetitive, although you need to fight with the controls most of the time.
Fun game, I really like it. The final boss was hard as nails, could not beat it. I wish there was some more depth to the gameplay too.
I found the motorcyle riding more fun than the actual killing I had to do. I like the atmosphere and the enemy design.
Wowo, gourceous graphics for such a short timespan. I found the gameplay interesting, needs some more meat to it though. I also felt the ui was a little cramped.
A very funny concept, and fun to play. I like it.
The idea behind the game is really cool! I think it is a fun little game. Getting to the air tanks is a little too hard though.
The game is really gorgeous, looks almost like a claymation. The lightning is especially lovely. The mood is also quite intense and pensive.
This really made me nostalgia. The way you recreated these old tiger electronics/game and watch games is amazing! The gameplay in itself is also lots of fun, even if it is a little hard to avoid the crap.
Well, it is pretty hard to write a comment about this game. Let's say that it is quite unexpected.
It is great to see other games made in renpy! I like the idea of using it for an adventure game. I think that using arrows to move around in a point and click game can be confusing, I had to look it in your instructions cause I felt stuck otherwise. The story is quite confusing, but you said you had time problems so that's understandable.
The game goes on at a pace which is really difficult to follow. I think I died at least 5 times before I even knew what I was supposed to do. But besides this the concept is really interesting and fun.
Gorgeous game with a fantastic mood. The gameplay is challenging.
I love this! An amazing an humorous rhythm game, I found it especially entertaining. Good job!
The graphics and mood is amazing, the gameplay felt a little clunky though. The fact that you are followed by some enemies that kill you in one hit and that you start all over again every time you die doesn't help either. It should have more of a learning curve to it. But apart from this, it was fun.
I just finished squashing the bugs (both the ending and the image not showing) and uploading the working version. I tested it multiple times and should work fine now.
Thank you guys for the feedback!
Maybe I am missing something but I didn't find a download for the windows build?
The gameplay is very interesting, but I think there are some problems with the collision. Most of the time I think I hit the opponent and instead I miss. Also, the characters should be bigger, three quartes of the screen are just background.
I really like the idea, I think you should develop it further.
TO be honest the process of swticheing the tasks is a little tedious, but the idea behind it is great, and well developed. It is an original idea that has a lot of potential in it.
This is quite unique in its own mood. Really enjoyed it. Gameplay could be improved upon though.
I really liked the game! I think the mechanic is pretty fun. The beard is a little hard to control though, which can lead to some frustrating moments. Graphics are gorgeus as usual.
This is sucha a great game! You really did an amazing job on the graphics for such a short timespan! I think that the shadow under the character should be more evident since makes navigation in the 3d environement easier.
The game is very confusing at first, but once you get going, it is pretty fun. When things get hectic it is hard to understand what is going on. Also I thoght I was going well, the mushroom is growing and all but the it said you lose. I guess that it was because I was growing the mushroom during the day but I am not really sure, maybe an indicator to know that you are losing would make the game a little more understandable?
Anyway, fun entry.
This is na interesting game, but I found a little repetitive after a while. I love the visual and audio presentation, and I believe you did an amazing job on that front.
I love and hate this kind of game at the same time, I wasn't able to move forward, only backwards :D
The gameplay is original and interesting, I really like it. Good job!
This is a really cool and original concept. I like it.
Great little game! The concept I really like, but I feel there are some balancing issues, the game is static until there are the powerups and the becomes super unbalanced on one side.
Nice game with responsive controls and fun gameplay, I really dig it. Only thing I would change is the pixel art for the main character that clashes with the rest.
The game is pretty fun, but it is quite hard right from the start. A little learning curve would have made it more enjoyable. Anyway, the mechanics in place are fantastic and I really love the atmosphere and the music. Good job!
The game concept is interesting and well done but the restart when you die sucked all the fun out of the game for me. The platforming controls are a little too hard to master, considering it is the main mechanic behind the game.
Nice concept, found it pretty fun and humorous.
A nice and humorous game. I think the controls are great and the gameplay is fun. In fact, I think that the procrastination parts were kinda annoying. Really liked it overall.
This is a great entry. Very polished, lots of fun and with a great use of the theme. The fact that enemies grow when hit is very original and fun. Also the voice acting is top notch.
A very well done and challenging game, I really enjoyed it.
I agree with others that having an indicator on where you are going would make the game a little easier. But to me that is the only gripe I have.
A nice kinetic novel. The song was great and it fitted the mood. I think the message it gave was deep but I felt the narration was a little dense, meaning it was expressing many informations in a few phrases, which made it more difficult to digest. Also the text was a little too small for confortable reading, but maybe that's just because I am short sighted :)
I really enjoyed it, thanks.
A deep and touching game! I really liked it.
Nice music! I like the graphical style, very original. The gameplay looks interesting, but I ended up getting stuck after bruning the first few branches, I seem to be unable to climb to the yellow sphere. The controls are kinds frustrating after a while.
Fun little game! I really enjoyed it.
Nice use of the theme in the game! The game itself is fun but gets repetitive after a while thought.
The endings are quite chilling. I really enjoyed the story.
This game is really interesting, never really saw something like this. It can get really frantic towards the end.
I really liked the idea! The implementation is a little rough, and at first it is daunting to see all these things on the screen, but once you get the hang of it, it is quite fun! It feels like you are directing a real ship.
Nice little game, with an original use of the themes. I really enjoyed it.
You need to fix the sound, way too loud! First time I bumped into something it gave me a heart attack! Apart from this, the idea is fun, but maybe a little repetitive.
A great little game! I think you were able to capture the limitation of the theme and make it into a game without feeling limited at all. I really enjoyed it.
I love the graphics and the gameplay is quite fun. I think the player needs to be penalized when they lose balance though. I found I could just go on with the back forward and ram anything away from me.
Also there were a couple of graphical bugs, for example the 4th+ bag was behind the scenery for some reason, and the first knight pushed me out of the screen and I disappeared, without seeing what I was doing anymore.
This is such a great game. The graphics and sound is incredible, and the way you developed the theme is deep and touching. I really , really liked it. I wish I knew some french to know what they were talking about.
THe idea is pretty original, but the bugs in the game make it almost unplayable. I always get stuck into blocks.
Wonderfully designed puzzle in this game! A true gem. I really liked it and I was actually looking for more. Really enjoyed it.
I like the concept, and it is well implemented. The controls are responsive and the tutorial has the right progression. I enjoyed it. I found the music a little annoying to be honest.
Wow excellent game. The control are excellent, fluid. I think you did a great job of developing on top of the limitations of the theme. I really liked it.
Interesting use of the theme. The gameplay is fun, but it feels kinda clunky when you are in the most difficult situations.
The game is quite fun! It is very challenging to place the logs, I could not go past the third one. It is an interesting take on the balancing puzzles you see out there. Great job!
The gameplay is very simple, with no strategy aspect to it. I don't think it is bad, but for sure it has room for some improvement. It is very easy to kill the enemies without getting hurt. Also, it gets very repetitive after a while.
I really liked the mood, and the music.
Wow, such a think mood in this game. The graphics fit so well with the story, and the animations are lovely. The immersion is incredible, it lasted a little more than a minute and yet it was so much more.
The story was grim, maybe a little too much, but I really liked it.
I was a little confused at first cause the man would not do what I told him to. Then I realized that I did not have to click onto the words, but clicke the left and right button. Derp. I think a visual aid above the choice would make it more evident for the ones like me :)
The platforming controls feel good, but it is easy to get stuck in the platforms. The game overall was a little too simple to be really fun. But as a first attempt at making a game, it is great, especially considering the time constraints.
I like the concept, it is interesting. The way you implemented it, with the weird aspect ratio and visuals, is also interesting. I take your word that it has an ending screen cause there is no way I am going to reach it, sorry :)
The idea is pretty interesting. I like it, but the implementation is a little confusing. I had the egg explode even when it was balanced more than once. The post compo version is definitely better from that point of view. I don't get if I have to do anything something once it hatched or not. Overall, a fun entry.
Oh I love bullet hell games! Very hard, but it was very fun indeed.
I really like the weird atmosphere. I can't really figure out what it all means but I like it.
The controls are super weird though. Sometimes I can double jump, sometimes I can levitate by pressing up, sometimes i drop like a stone. I am not sure if it was intended. Also, finding the orbs is very hard, especially because it is hard to understand what things in the background I can jump onto.
Same, could not download it. It is a pity cause it looks like a fun game.
An interesting game for sure. Maybe a little clunky, but the idea is pretty fun. An annoying thing is the fact that the spells do not act immediately, meaning that control is a little hard.
The dialog was a little cringey but still fun to read.
Wow, a game in the Blender Engine! This is something I am happy to see cause that engine is really underrated. As for the game itself, it is good! I didn't get at first that I could jump on the presents, but when I got it it was easy to reach the end. A bit on the easy side, but still, I thought it was fun
The graphics are incredible! I really dig the visual style. Gameplay is a little confusing as it is not really clear what the goal is. But walking around in this engrossing mood is interesting in itself.
Thanks for the nightmares.
The animations are quite awesome, but the gameplay is a little too simple to be really fun. But I guess the shock value compensates for it.
The action gets pretty intente in the later stages! I really enjoyed the idea of cloning yourself, and even if the gameplay is simple the controls are responsive enough to make it fun and interesting. I really liked it.
I had a blast, very fun game and excellent use of the theme! I loved it!
Overall i enjoyed it. The minigames were interesting at first but got repetitive after the 4th or 5th time.
It is quite an ambitious game! I think you did a good job. Maybe a little slow but I'm not into this kind of game.
This is an original gameplay mechanic, for sure. The way the window moved around was psychedelic to say the least. It is interesting to see a game that gets over the limitations of the screen in such an original way, and still fitting the theme.
About the gameplay, I really liked the puzzles and the design, and the wall jump took a few tries to get used to but then it went smooth. An excellent entry overall!
Excellent graphical style, and I like that you have so many different forms to choose from. The controls are terrible, I know it is on purpose but makes up for a frustrating gameplay, and yet it is auite interesting to fiddle with.
The concept is interesting. I like how the bullets fromm the enemies bouce off your shield and you need to tke the right angle to kil them. Right now lacks some challenge but I can see some interesting puzzles coming from this.
One thing that you should fix in a possible postcompo version is the audio. The sfx volume is way too high compared to the music and it was like a jumpscare the first time I jumped :D But I think you have something here that should be developed further.
I really enjoyed it! I think it it a very interesting concept. My only complaint would be that it is very difficult to get used to the controls, and the learning curve is quite difficult right from the start! Some progression would make the game a lot more enjoyable.
Besides this, I really like the idea and would love to see this developed further.
A gret game! I like the way you get different useful powers the more you progress. The controls are excellent. Changing shape this way is a little slow though, considering you need to change between them multiple times.
Nice atmosphere and visual style. The music is really soothing and the gameplay was quite relaxed.
Nice game and interesting puzle mechanics! It is immersive to move around the sliders to find the perfect shape.
I really like the mood and ambient of this game, the dreamy ambients and enemies. Itis interesting the way you interpreted the theme, and I think the way you implemented it was great. I found the control to be a little clunky to be honest.
Very nice idea to make a steath game! I like the overhead view that gives you an idea of the strategy to go for. I don't know if that is intended, but you can just walk past most of the people without affecting them if you are fast enough.
Graphics were a little barebones but did their job. I like the sounds.
Wow, this is such an original concept! I really like this game. A little confusing, but very interesting!
Interesting concept, but feels kinda repetitive. I thnk adding different enemies and attack strategies would make it better.
It is really a great idea for a puzzle game! Very original and interesting.
Love the writing and the polish that went into this. It is like a mashup between a Vampire The Maswuarade feel with the noir detective sotrytelling. I think you did a great job!
I really like this! The blocked view crated for some tense gameplay and an excellent mood. The differences in style are balanced. I can see this working very well as a small two player game. Very nice!
Wow, this is a game right out of the uncanny valley! Very uneasy atmosphere, really enjoyed that. Gameplay is interesting too, tryin got find the most horrifying combination. You did an amazing job on the graphics and the sound, really like those.
Excellent game! I really like the design of this one, perfectly balanced risk reward! Well done.
Really nice idea. I found it really funny and enjoyable, and laughed out loud at the ending.
The idea is very funny and has a lot of potential for a comedy game. Very clever use of the theme.
You should add a way to lock the mouse to the game window in the web wersion. Anso, some kind of pointer would really help focus better on things.
Wonderful atmosphere, and realy interesting visual style you went for! It can get a little hard to get untangled because the movement is so confusing, but that is probably just a minor annoyance.
A nice antichamber inspired game! I like these shapeshifting labyrinths. The game was implemented well and I found it enjoyable.
Wow, the polish in the game is incredible! You did a really good job on the graphics and gameplay. My only complaint is that keyboard controls are a little hard, but I guess it was not designed for it.
I had one bug: I could not see any text, only empty textboxes. You may want to check that. I downloaded the itch.io version.
Really nice kinetic novel, I think you did a good job on the design of the characters. The writing was simple but effective, and overall was an interesting story, and you mixed the theme well into it.
The crotch bounce in the title screen was disturbing! The game is really fun, and I like how you used menmonic key combinations for the different shape. but I don't like the fact that there is a delay in the transformation, that makes the game almost unplayable.
This is an interesting mechanic. The fact that the enemies only move when you are giving them the shoulders creates a weird feeling of urgency. I think though it is easy to exploit by staying against a wall, so maybe there should be more mechanic in place to avoid that? Simple but fun gameplay, and excellent graphics.
Really interesting idea! The game is really fun and I like how you implemented it. I think it was a little too linear after a while though. The UI design is excellent.
THis game is lots of fun! I really like the mechanic and I think you did it very well, the levels are challenging but doable with a few tries. The graphics and the music were a little barebones, but the humor made up for that.
A funny take on a proven and tested mechanic! I think it was quite funny, I like how the monster grows differently depending on your gameplay, makes the game feel different each time, and adds an interesting challenge.
I like the mechanics, and the mood is so cute :) The controls on the keyboard weren't exactly enjoyable, but I believe it was not designed for it.
Ok, I really like the mechanics and concepts of the game, but I think there are too many glaring bugs and design problems to make it actually enjoyable. You have way too much life and I've never died once in the whole game because I ran out of it. The platforms took way too long to appear and I thought I had to jump over the spikes. On one occasion you had to fall off from one cliff and on the next fall off there were spikes, which is just tricking the player into dying. You get stuck in walls after jumping and you slide on the moving platforms. Also, turning into stone is not really responsive and requires a few seconds.
I think the stone turning mechanic and graphics are great and so is the music. I am just pointing out these things because these are rather simple to adjust in a post compo version and I think you should do so because the base game is really fun!
The animation and visual style reminded me of Another World, which is a good thing. I wish there was some sound, the game would have gained so much more mood, which it is already oozing!
THe thing that I like the most about this game is the mood. Really sad, despite its simplicity. I think you did a great job on that.
Gameplay was a little simple. And I don't understand why use two buttons that are at the opposite ends of a keyboard, but that is only a minor annoyance.
This game made me laugh out loud! Very funny concept.
This is really fun, one of my favourites for humor so far! I love the fact that you will change in a lot of different things with different abilities, makes for a fun and varied gameplay. There wasn't really an incentive to explore besides the counter at the top.
I like the idea, and the fact that each shape gives radically different behaviours! I think though that the game starts right out too difficult, without giving some time to get used with the controls. With time you get used to them, but it can be discouraging.
I also like that you can pass each part with different combinations, gives it replayability.
Cool gameplay mechanics! I think they work really well, and the game design is well done too.
Nice game, the upgrades push you to go on until the end. The gameplay is fun, but I think it could use some balance since the defensive form is unbeatable and thus it is very easy to get back to full mana and destroy the opponent in a matter of seconds. But overall it was very enjoyable.
Nice visual design, and fun gameplay. Maybe a little too simple? But it was enjoyable anyway :)
I like the clean graphical style. The game was a little too easy, enemies seem to drop around me without me doing almost anything. I also killed the werewolf in just seconds without getting hit. I think it should be more challenging. I also don't see how thia game was inspired by the theme. But I still think it was a fun little game.
I like the "The thing" vibes of this game! The idea is excellent, the gameplay in itself is a little hard to get because it seems like the guards will find you whatever you do, so it can be discouraging.
This is the kind of game that will benefit immensely from a better leraning curve, which at the moment seems a little too steep. I think it is a great game at its core.
I think the mood was excellent, and so the visual style, but the controls are a little strange, considering it is a platformer. It was easy to slip off by accident and need to restart.
I love the design of the boss, and the graphics. Very curated from the visual point of view. Gameplay wise, it was a little clunky, and the powers of the boss are very strong and become frustrating after a while. I managed to kill it but it took a while.
Very interesting use of the theme! I really like the game, andi think it is lots of fun. The graphics are stunning, especially for such a stort timeframe. You did a great job on this one.
The graphics are just outstanding, so polished they could actually be used in a finished game.
The gameplay was interesting, but a little too random. It was interesting to find a specific combination, but it took quite a while and there was no guidance.
I have no ideea what I played. I liked the visual style though.
I like the mechanics you put in the game. Challenging but fun, I like it. The mood you created was excellent, and the graphics and the music really worked well together.
I find the interface useful and quickly accessible. But I quickly got stuck as I could not make anything combine with anything else. I did not have a specific purpose, so I ended up giving up.
A lovely puzzle entry! I enjoyed the mechanic and completed the game, gives a nice challenge wihtout being impossible or tedious. Really god job. The music is also very relaxing.
I have tried the web version. The title screen doesn't show the various menus? I had to hover the mouse on the lower half of the screen to see them. I don't know if it is intended or a bug but it is quite confusing, since it is a keyboard only game after all.
The gameplay feels nice, maybe lacks in depth, but the shooting feels satisfying.
It is a fun chaos simulator! I really enjoyed smashing into the furniture. Maybe a little too basic ad far as gameplay goes. Also very funny backstory.
The game is really funny. The thing I like the most is the eating animation, really funny. I think the game is interesting but lacks depth, there isn't any real challenge so it gets boring after a while. It would have been cool to have a different animation for every different losing condition.
I like the action and the controls, feels pretty good. I don't understand though why the shooting stops when moving horizontally, it is kinda frustrating. My best score is level 4 with 53 skulls.
A funny point and click game, I really enjoyed it. I think the fact that you can't see the cat on the screen is quite confusing though, at first I though I was a ghost or something like that.
I really like the game, simple but well balanced and effective. I was unable to win the game though. I don't agree that the game needs more features, it feels complete as it is. The only thing that is sorely missed is some music.
I like the concept as a platformer, but there are some flaws that are frustrating. For example, having to watch the unskippable game over screen and unskippable intro every time I die is quite frustrating. Another thing I noticed is that jumping doesn't work all the time? I guess it is a bug, but considering it is a platformer it is a major one.
It is interesting as a twine game. I like the fact that you can actually interact with your surroundings like in a point and click game, it gives more of a "gamey" feel than most of the twine games I play. The descriptions are interesting and engaging.
However, I think I found a serious bug. After finding the keycode I can't input it in the door, so I'm stuck. It's a pity cause it was getting interesting.
The movement is a little stiff.. The gameplay is basic but engaging. It lacks some depth though.
This was very funny and engaging. Love the writing.
Intreresting gameplay! I found it a little hard to tell my character apart in the bunch. I like the idea and the humor.
The concept is interesting, I see you were going for a papers please feel but I feel the gameplay was kinda tedious. The fact about moving around desks didn't feel snappy, too much delay. I feel that it could work if it was simplified a bit.
This is a very original idea, have to say! Interesting gameplay, intuitive and fun to play. I really liked this one.
This is a fun point and click game with an interesting mechanic. I found it really fun, and even though I had to start from the beginning if I made a mistake, it didn't feel tedious because I could skip the dialogue. I really enjoyed this.
This is great fun! I really enjoy the graphics, the humor and the gameplay, which is simple but fun nonetheless. Gets very hard on stage 4, could not pass it.
I really like the idea, very well done and interesting, and the way you interpreted the one room theme is very interesting. The story is touching in a way, having passed along the same things. Maybe was a little too uneventful, but I think that was the meaning of the story, the fact that you lose touch. Well done.
The ending kinda ruined it for me honestly, but I still enjoyed the writing. I wish that more happened in the story, but I can see that with only one room as a theme there is only so much you can do.
I really like the overall mood of the kinetic novel.
Story has a good mood. I like the fact that it has plenty of different images that aid the storytelling visually. Maybe a little too scattered.
The intro is amazing, very well drawn. THe gameplay is challenging and interesting. Juggling around with three different tentacles can be very demanding. Overall, a very well done game!
The gameplay is interesting and hard, it is an interesting balance between risk and reward. My only complaint is that the stages are way too short because you can't really expect to survive too long. The story is wacky, maybe a little too weird!
Very interesting gameplay, mindblowing in some way.
The gameplay has potential, but I think you should tell beforehand what an enemy does, since if you have to die to know that can be very frustrating. But the mechanics are interesting.
I think that the mixed use of mouse and keyboard is very confusing, at first I didn't realize I had to click on the enter the mansion sign to start the game. Since the rest of the game is keyboard controlled, it seems confusing.
I like the concept of the game, and the puzzles are interesting, but the game is too confusing to be actually playable or enjoyable, to be honest.
The gameplay is fun and the upgrade system is a great way to keep playing. Unfortunately I found a couple of bugs that made the gameplay a little frustrating. For example, when moving, sometimes the keys got stuck and I kept going in that direction. Also, if I double click on the continue button, I can skip one or more waves. (I'm using the HTML5 version, if that helps).
This is a nice game, small in scope but fun to play. I find that it isn't really useful to have multiple hearts if any enemy can deplete all of them because it stunlocks you. I found it frustrating under that aspect. But I really liked it.
The linux build is missing the Data folder
A simple and engaging game! I really enjoyed it, it is an intelligent use of the theme. The gameplay feels tight and is fun.
This is a beautiful game, very polished and well designed! I found the gameplay to be a little too repetitive and without a real sense of progression, unfortunately. Maybe an indicator of the stats and giving a deadline of sorts would give more motivation to progress.
I found a typo, "monent" instead of moment.
The buttons seem to be rendered behind the alert box while still remaining active, which made me click on them without realizing a couple of times.
Overall I enojoyed it! Great job!
I love this entry! I really enjoyed going around looking for clues and solving puzzles. Really dripping with atmosphere, and with a lot of small touches, like the limping at the end and the screen tilt, that make it really interesting to play. Overall a great entry!
@zapakitul Thank you for the comment. I did a similar game a while ago, you can check out the call on my profile along with some other visual novels.
@ehe feel free to do if you want! You actually made me curious now
And thanks to everyone else for the comments, great inputs so far!
Wow, a lot of content for so little time, well done! I like the fact that the levels are challenging and well designed, without ever being really frustrating. I like the artstyle but I found the dirt on the screen to be more annoying than challenging, since it was never a real obstacle. I also don't like the feel of the vines, I think you should move slower on them because thhey feel very slippery otherwise and it is easy to fall off from them, like if they were a very timy platform. But besides that I really loved it.
I liked the graphics and the gameplay, while simple, is engaging. I found the music a little hard on the ears after a while. I also found that the mechanics were a little too simple personally, they didn't get boring because of the shortness of the game, but I think they would get a little tiring with more levels added. But this is my personal opinion, so take it for what it is!
Overall, it was a simple but interesting game and I enjoyed it, good job!
I found it rather fun! The hopping around feels very good, and the crunch you get when you ger a burger is quite satisfying. It is also quite engaging when you try to get a good streak. I like it.
A well designed arcade game, I found myself engaged in thescoring system. Very satisfying when you can blast through a big combo.
The games sends out an interesting vibe, with the particular use of the colors and the music. The gameplay felt somewhat lacking however, personally I didn't find it engaging. The main problem I found is that it is very hard to predict the pattern of cannonballs on one side, and the movement is not super responsive, which a lot of the time makes avoiding cannonballs almost unavoidable.
I think if, for example, the cannonballs had a vertical path, that would be more interesting because then I can have some decision making to do.
Overall it was an interesting game, especially considering its simplicity. Good job!
The ending put a smile on my face! It was short but interesting, and the gags were quite funny.
I really liked the weapon feel, it was very visceral and made me feel like a badass.
I had a few problems though, for example on some levels I died instantly because the monster spawned right next to me. I felt that was quite cheap because it really can't be avoided. I also find it confusing that when you reach the border of the map you are thrown directly to the main screen. I know that it is because I fell off but for the first few times I thought it was a bug. Also on a few levels my character's sprite didn't appear at all.
I found the music to be badass just like the sound effects.
Considering it is your first game, I'd say you have a lot of interesting ideas!
I like the dungeon crawling, but the feel of the weapon is somewhat off. The range was so close that it was very hard to even get close enough without getting hurt. Luckily you start with a lot of life.
I found the boss fight interesting and epic, but I think that doing the exact same story twice is a low blow to the player. I think that if it ended right after the first boss is killed it would be much better, without feeling there are missing parts.
Anyway, this was an encouraging attempt! Good job!
I find this game quite fun! I really like the animation attacks, which are quite detailed and humorous for such a short timespan! I had great fun experimenting with the different attacks. But I have to say I found the symbols is confusing, and I didn't get it personally.
It is an interesting game, with a peculiar feel, have to say. "Domestic" is how I would describe it. I felt a little bad for the mice and the things the girl did didn't really make much sense, but I found that charming in a way.
It's a fun game! I found it funny and engaging. I think the only thing I disliked was the amount of motion blur, it was way too much for my taste to be honest. Overall, I really liked it
I found this to be an interesting game. There is definitely some strategy involved and you need to think about where to place the next bomb and especially why. The game was quite polished for being a compo entry. Personally I would make the levels a lot smaller, so to force the player to consider the positions of the robots at all times to make it more challenging.
Overall, a good entry, good job!
I love the animations and the character designs! Really well done, and the conversations are really funny, good job!
This is a nice idea for the theme. I found it quite challenging, especially because I could not hear again the segment to double check. Maybe adding an easier mode for those like me would make the game more including. I think graphically it could have been designed a little better, especially since a big part of the screen is just background.
The amount of polish is impressive for a compo game! The mood in the game is thick thanks to a great soundtrack and graphics, they really sell you the idea of the depths.
A thing that I would improve is the thirst and death mechanics. They aren't really intuitive, and I had to read your explaination on the page and go back to the game to actually get them. The skulls on the upper left look a lot like lifes, so I was very confused when I didn't die after getting hit multiple times. I also thought that the bars were indicators of how much time I had left to kill all monsters before opening the door. I can't help on how to make this more intuitive here, unfortunately.
Anyway, this was just a nitpick on my part, and the game was amazing, so great job!
I completed it with zero broken presents! Very simple but effective game, and the christmas theme really gives it a unique mood. Well done!
I have to disagree with another commenter, personally I found the controls quite interesting because they felt quite real, since you are a big rock and not a light ball. But maybe making them more snappy would make it a little more interesting, and maybe adding more challenge to the gameplay, which as it is right now is quite simple. Good work!
I find this experiment interesting. Graphically it is eye catching despite the simplicity. I didn't really get the gameplay thought, at first I thought that I needed to balance between inflating my ego and playing it down, but there isn't a real indicator for game over, besides the actor's height. It isn't really clear and I'm not sure if it is a design choice or not.
But besides this, I really liked it! It is an interesting little game. A little touch that I like is how the flowers remain on the floor between sessions.
A funny game! The gameplay is simple but effective and engaging. The only thing that brings it down a little is the fact that most of the phrases are exactly the same between the girls/boys, which makes it a little predictable after a while.
Only bug I found is that it crashed when I got up to 6 lovers, for some reasons, and could not progress.
Overall a very fun game! I especially liked the humorous phrases that came with each activity.
Very cute game! I really enojyed the richness of detail in the backgrounds, even if you don't get to interact with it too much, unfortunately. It also was kinda funny with all the beers floating around the room.
Oh, and the music is awesome!
The atmosphere is very soothing and relaxing, I like it. Regarding gameplay I was confused as to what I had to do to be honest. I could link some object and not others and I had no clue why I had to link some of them; the level design suggested I had to unlock some areas but I had not clue as to do so. Besides that, I thought it was really enjoyable.
This was an excellent entry! Simple mechanics but very well executed. My only problem with it is not having a quick restart button for when you do too many mistakes and end up stuck at the start of the race, since it is very easy to make the game unwinnable if you suck like me :) Overall, great job!
Well things took an unexpected turn rather quickly! I really liked the whole experience, especially the audio, very immersive. The typing sounds that really gave a strong mood in a simple way. I think that the game was a little heavy on taking control away from the player, which made me feel a little detached from what was happening on the screen, but that is probably just me. I also think the use of the theme was very original and well implemented. Good Job!
@squaredev Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, typography is not exactly my strong point, and something I need to improve at. I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway!
@cppchriscpp hey I remember well your comments, they were very encouraging. Thank you! I really appreciate it, and I'm glad you enjoyed the entry.
This game is a ton of fun despite how minimal it is in terms of gameplay. I really enjoyed playing through it, there is a primal satisfaction in kickng stuff away (which is why we probably got soccer in the first place, haha). The tune really sets a frantic mood. Overall, great job!
This was funny and disturbing at the same time! I really enjoyed the point and click logic in this one, usually it is really out there and nonsensical but here it kind of made sense and it was fun to find all the combinations. I think that the hand button is useless or did I miss something? To me it seems that the whole game can be solved only by combining objects.
The graphics are incredible, really love the style. Gameplay wise, it is a nice idle game, very well designed. Only thing I didn't like to be honest was the music, it started to get annoying after a while, while the sound effects were great added a lot to the atmosphere.
Wow, just the fact you were able to make a nes game in such a short period of time is very impressive! Well done! I really enjoyed the game despite its simplicity, it was pretty dark considering how cutesy the graphics and music were. Overall it is an excellent entry, well done.
A very interesting puzzle game! I like the idea and how it was developed. However I found a bug where if I'm in a position where I can put the piece, it disappears, which made me think it was not possible to place it there. This left me confused for a little while until I clicked in that position randomly. I also think a simple explanation of the rules would be great, because at first I thought I had to place the negative pieces on the negative regions, while it is actually the opposite. Good job!
I really enjoyed it! I like how almost everything is animated, really gives life to the game. Excellent sound design too! Moving in the game felt a little slow, and the fact that you are going to end up back at the beginning if you lose all the hearts felt a little harsh. But I still think it is a well done game.
Yay, I won! I don't agree that the gameplay is too simple, personally I found it engaging, albeit it could certainly earn something from a bigger strategic depth. I'm absolutely in love with your use of color in the game.
I also don't know why, but the guy screaming in the subway made me laugh out loud every time.
I really like this entry, well done!
The game is excellent visually and soundwise, I love the catchy tune on the titlescreen. Gameplay is fun; but having no cooldown on the damage means I found myself dead in a matter of seconds from full life, which I'm not sure if it was intended or not. I found the slow reloading a little grating after a while, I think that adding some bonuses like one enemy down = one pellet in the gun would have made gameplay faster and more engaging. But overall I found it to be apretty solid game, great job!
An excellent puzzle games! I was stuck a couple of times, and the solution was logical but not always evident, which to me is sign of a great puzzle game. The graphics were also simple but functional and aesthetically pleasing. Personally I'm a sucker for these minimalistic puzzle games, and I think you made one with the theme that was spot on. Great job!
This was an excellent entry! I absolutely adore the stylized look and the mood it gives. Gameplay of course is minimalistic but still manages to give some emotional impact, since I often get caught in the same frenzy when it comes to social media. The whole game felt very personal, great job.
Great fidelity to the original material, both graphically and gameplay wise. I don't know if I can get over the contact support popup because I always seem to crash after that, not sure if I'm missing something. Good job!
Thanks for the linux build! Very funny game! I really enjoyed playing it. I love the artstyle, and the music fits the mood perfectly!
I think the idea is good but it needs a little more refinement. Like others I'm a little at a loss at what I should be doing. I saw that going on some red tiles brings me to another level, but standing on others does nothing. I thought I had to touch all the red ones on the level, but that didn't seem to always work. If you could give some clarification about this, even in the description, it would be great!
I like how tight the game is around the basic idea of building a fire. I think it works great as it is, but it really misses some bigger purpose to reach overall, otherwise just fighting against the clock isn't very engaging. I think some sort of bonus system or skill system would have made it more engaging. There were also a handful of minor bugs, for example the fire appearing on top of the trees in front of it, but they were all minor. Good job!
It would be great if you could make a linux build! I tried running it in wine but it didn't work unfortunately...
I love a good typing game, and this one fits the bill! Gameplay is of course simple but I think you did an incredible job making it feel good to play. Great job!
Really nice entry! Simple in terms of concept, but really fun when actually playing it, trying to minmax all the workers. The bonuses are also a gread addition, but I think it is quite long to reach the end to try to unlock all different combinations. The art is really nice and fits the theme of the game. Good job overall!
@static-ddq Thank you! I'm glad you cite Cave Story cause it was a big influence on the visual style and platforming.
In the second screen you have to follow the arrows to continue even if you will get hurt  That's the way I interpreted the theme, and I'm not sure if it is confusing. You can check the gif I added to see if it helps.
@kbf123 Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I got a little caught in the end so I couldn't make it much longer unfortunately, so I tried to polish what I had done.
@erendelous there is a soundtrack  Maybe you were not using Firefox or Chrome? It tends to have problems with others browsers.
@isaque-picao-sanches @purrseus @walterp @tomcat94 @andrew-garcia @shahroz-khan @ekin @badosz @sapphiris @syrapt0r @august1413 @gevernus Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
@notlivingpool @lontrus @daruudaruu @morriss Thanks for the suggestions, I will keep them in mind for the postjam version.
@jeroenpx @matt-fabius @valden The bumping on the ceiling is not a bug, it's a feature  I'm not sure if you noticed or if you're referencing something else but you can drop off a ledge and still jump once, this allows to get the first heart for example. I added a gif to show how it should be done. Unless you'referencing it more in general, in which case I should look more into it because technically you should be able to control the jump height by how much you press space.
This is absolutely lovely! I really like the game overall, especially the graphics and the sound and how they all fit together. Really good job!
I like the concept! I'm not really sure what the polish and cut content do because they don't seem to have any effect? Or maybe that's their intended becaviour? The comments at the end are too real
The concept is really interesting and original. I found it a little hard to control the character. I also was unable for some reason to land on the platforms once they appeared, I always got through them for some reason.
Oh I see, my mistake! I replayed the game knowing this, and I think my confusion came from the fact that I spawned after the platform I had just created, so I though I was doing something wrong. Overall it is an excellent mechanic, simple and effective, but I think it needs a little balancing since it's really easy to slip off a platform without wanting to.
Oh I definitely understand. I think that with some work it will become a solid game!
I lilke the mechanics, very fun! It is very enjoyable to play and the physics based movements make it challenging and fresh. I think it becomes a little easy since you can knock off all the broken hearts. Overall it was a simple but well crafted game, good job!
Really nice game! I really enjoy the mechanics. There are a few bugs but that is to be expected from a game jam. The idea is well done and well realized. I would have made the spikes of a different color because at first I though they were bushes and didn't understand why they killed me
It's a very enjoyable experience! I liked it.
Things that could be improved: the space button to shoot can be stressful on the fingers, i think the mouse button would be a better choice. The AI always got stuck in the walls which made all the fights quite easy.
Besides this, I think it is a fun game with fun mechanics, and I like how it changes the shooting mechanics.
I got up to level 8 but no one came, I don't know if that is the end of the game or a bug?
This is a very fun game, I love it! You nailed the humor in this one, nice job! I also discovered that my junk means more to me than the life of 5 people.
I really like the graphics, clean and easily readable. The fact that you can go out of one end of the screen and into another really confused me, but that's just not being used to it, I guess. I think you have a nice little platformer here.
@nakami no, it's my fault actually. I just completely forgot to add the pack files to the project... I guess that's what happens when you publish it at 4 in the morning!
Now it's fixed, if you want to check it out!
@konh I've added the WebGL version. Give it a try if you want!
If you're talking about the graphical artifacts that appear in the screenshots, those were caused by importing the sprites with the wrong filter, I removed it and they don't appear anymore. If you're talking about the style itself... Well, I've tried my best...
I'm not a fan of clicker games, but damn this one is really good under all aspects, especially how you used the theme. I don't have much to say about it other than, excellent job!
I'm always impressed by the fact that you are able to make a NES game in such a short timeframe... And with such a deep meaning too! I really loved it, good job!
I have to disagree with the others and say that I really liked the controls. They aren't perfect, sure, but there is the seed for something really good here. Personally I feel that if the controls are hard but fair it's a lot more fun when you can actually pull off some trick; which is the case here since it was really satisfying to hit an enemy
Only thing I miss is more aerial control, if you're making a later version of the game I'd probably give the option to change direction when jumping to give more control and tighter direction changes, and probably allow to make tighter turns on the ground.
The game got probably three times as fun when I realized that you could hit the enemy's projectile against them, which in retrospect feels obvious considering the main character's weapon. I'd probably make the projectiles look more like balls to communicate better the idea that you can hit them.
I think that you have a really nice mechanic here to play with for a larger game.
Excellent mood. I find rock paper scissors style games to not make much sense against a computer since there isn't much of the mental games that usually happen with a human opponent, but it still has a fun, slot machine style quality to it. The graphics are excellent and very clean.
I have to agree with toasteater that you should opt out of the compo if you didn't make the music. Either that, or remove it from the game, as you see fit.
The thing I liked the most is the presentation, 110/10 under this aspect. The only thing I would do is to make the numbers less generic and easier to understand with some symbol next to them, like a heart near the life or something like that, just to make things easier to read. Excellent game overall.
Of course I love a good visual novel! there aren't many made for Ludum Dare unfortunately...
The design of the demon is really nice. The music is also very nice and fits the mood perfectly. The only thing I'd work on a little is trying to make all the different visual styles work together somehow, since there seems to be a little clash between them. It's an impressive job for two days, well done!
The gameplay is classic but it's actually very engaging to play, I like the fact that you have to balance between standing on the pools of blood and avoid getting hit. It's a bit on the hard side, but I feel like it's a good thing for this kind of game.
I see that you have an audio category, but I didn't hear any audio while playing.
The game is well balanced in terms of upgrades, but the fights seem a little hard. I've tried a couple of times to kill the first critters just with melee but they always got me first, it feels like it could use a buff. So I was forced to kite them with my ranged attacks. Overall I found the game relaxing, probably due to the simple graphics and color choices.
Just wanted to point out that the linux version's executable doesn't seem to work for some reason, I had to copy the Godot executable from my project to make it work. After that however it worked perfectly.
This reminded me of Ikaruga, and it was just as hard, I'd say. I think you did a great job in balancing the mechanics, I especially like the fact that you have that the character's time is also your time, so you have to make choices quickly. Excellent job!
@toasteater I'm on Ubuntu 18.04.2. I did another test and it actually runs when I open it from the shell. It says that it isn't an executable but a shared library, so maybe that confused the distro. It's also much bigger than my own executable (95MB vs 30MB).
Excellent game overall, I really enjoyed it. The only thing I feel like I'm missing from the platforming is the possibility of choosing how high I can jump by pressing less or more, but that is a minor nitpick. It was interesting to see the different "boss" patterns and they were unique and interesting in their own way.
An impressive game in its simplicity! I love exporating dungeons and I think this game really nailed that feeling in a perfect way. I like the fact that you have to trade keys for tomes when your inventory is full. I found it however very hard to navigate, since all the rooms look the same without anything to distinguish them besides the torches and the doors it is easy to think you've already been in a certain room when maybe it is a new place. I think just a little of additional flavor in the visuals of the rooms would make the game a lot more enjoyable to explore, as a sort of visual reward for finding new rooms.
Also, the shader you used for the game is very good, although I think the excessive curvature made me feel a little disoriented after a few minutes, but maybe it is just me.
Amazing job, overall!
This was a really nice entry! I liked the way you combined all the mechanics in the last puzzle, and I think it would actually be the base for a nice puzzle game! The music is soothing and the graphics pleasant.
Anonymous, you need to save the flower too or else you lose!
@siegmayer @joe-cowman @remus-rain @gullyngames @elendow @elendow I'm sorry, I didn't specify clearly in the description but this game almost **requires** to be played with a controller. I didn't play it with the keyboard at all and I can only imagine how painful it must be to be played like that. So if you have a controller at hand that is what you should use instead to enjoy the game a little more.
I don't know what kind of layout should be used for games like this on a keyboard, the arrows + zxc configuration is standard japanese indie controls and what feels the most natural to me. Any suggestions?
@trashstar that is actually by design to avoid you being too close to the flower. I understand what you mean with the flower hitbox, it doesn't feel that right.
@hacktrout it's a feature lol
@marco-le-van @miklo Thank you so much for the feedback!
@trashstar you're right, initially I designed more elaborated patterns and powerups that required you to move and strategize your position, but I ended up being short on time, so your criticism is more than valid. The extra swords are there mostly to give a rhythm for the falling swords and make you understand when the next one is coming.
@convg Thank you! I feel like these aren't actually bugs but mostly visual hiccups, the trail of your attack isn't active for all the time it appears on screen because otherwise the game would be almost trivial, and the hitbox for the flower is a little bigger.
@almax thank you so much for the feedback! You're right that XCV feels like a better choice, I am changing it now to make things a little less frustrating for those that don't have a controller. And you're definitely right with the flower, it is easy to miss, I have to find a way to make it stand out a little more.
The presentation is extremely charming! The music only played on my left ear for some reason, and yes, I checked if my headphone jack was all the way in...
I found the game to be a little linear after a while, since there isn't much synergy between the actions you choose. The only interesting part of the gameplay is having to balance feeding the sourdough and using it, but when you have enough flour this gets rather easy too. But maybe I am looking too deep into it, I get the feeling that this should just be an easy and relaxing clicker type game and it succeeds under this aspect, good job!
ohh, a roguelite in a game jam? This is actually a lot of content for such a short amount of time! The game was fun to play, but the little robot always seemed to get in the way of the bullets without giving me a change to avoid that. I was also surprised when it died and the game just ignored it and allowed me to continue down the dungeon, especially since at the beginning it felt like it was an important character... I like however the way you have to manage his health and use him to gain back life. Maybe the only thing I didn't like is the fact that the sound effects are rather aggressive. The music is excellent!
All in all a great entry!
I think I broke it and overflowed the happiness counter! I am not a huge fan of clickers, but this one is short and enjoyable. I like the concept but after a while it feels a little odd to have the guy sitting there with sad music in the background when Happiness outnumbers Sadness 1000:1! I think it would have been fun to see some changes in the character as happiness increased, but maybe that was the point?
All in all, a nice entry that feels very personal.
Art is charming, and the gameplay feels very good considered how simple the game is! I thought I was killing it at first, but I noticed too late that there were entrances on the sides too... I think the animations are probably my favourite part of this whole game. Good job!
@fabighindaru dang it, I knew I had to do some silly mistake like that! Thanks for letting me know.
Double post
Triple post 😥
@bw-devel Thanks for the feedback! The bit about the wall damaging you leaves me a little perplexed though, it's not intended and it's a bug that I can't seem to replicate.
@bw-devel it seems like it's working properly, so I'm not sure what's causing it. However I ended up finding a small unrelated collision bug while I was testing for this one! So thanks for you feedback either way!
@twowolf you can! You need to reach the bottom which is at 700 metres
@hilvon yes that's the bug I was talking about before! I've fixed it now cause it slipped my attention while I was playtesting it. I'm sorry about not making it clear that the timer is a time limit and not a survival thing, I'll leave a note in the description.
@3lstmsinatrenchcoat I feel like I prefer grabbing enemies to dashing, and for that the left-right movement is more important! It's a preference thing I suppose.
@ryannielson thank you! It's too late for an in game indicator but I've added how deep the end of the pit is in the description.
@pinklatticeuwu glad you like it :)
@baconn00 thanks for the feedback! While you can definitely survive indefinitely by spamming the grab button you won't be able to gain enough momentum to finish the game! Reaching a high enough speed is as important as surviving as you need both to reach the end
This was impressively well done considering the simplicity of the concept. I found it very relaxing and charming to build the roots around. I feel like it both perfectly fits the theme and is a nice game to play!
The game is really well done overall! The only thing I can point out is the fact that the physics get a little wonky when the helmet slows down, but other than that I think the game is overall a simple concept done really well! The premise is also quite funny I have to say and gives a fun context for the game.
The game mechanic is a very interesting take on the theme! It is definitely interesting to see the character to go from flat to tridimensional. I felt like the gameplay can use some tweaking, as it was easy to get stuck in some platforms and the tridimensional movement was a little wonky, but other than that it was definitely original!
A really cool game! I like the feeling of dropping down the well.
I feel that it's very hard to "flow" in the game, meaning that I always ended up hitting something, which was a little frustrating. Also at times the amount of things coming at me are overwhelming which makes making snappier decisions pretty hard.
Other than that, I found the concept of the game very interesting and well executed. I especially liked the cartoon aesthetic of the game.
@ellaris thanks for the feedback ^^
thanks for the feedback guys! I added ctrl and shift as mod keys to move and rotate the pieces to make it more accessible to those without a physical mouse
