The game doesn't open!!
The game is awesome great idea
Yes, I understand. Well done!
Thanks guys! I happy you like it :D
For those who can't open the file: Right click on it > Properties > Check "Unblock" and it will run just fine!
The controls when unsing a controller are a bit off. It feels like you dont stop fast enough. Still though, neat game
The game is cool and the simple graphics work for the concept. With a controller you move as if you are on skates and you can't stop to read the signs which is an important part of the game. I think one improvement would be to hit a key to proceed through the "portal" instead of just walking through it, that way you can stop to read the text.
Nice game
Really neat concept! Short, Quick, Simple. I like it! :)
I have some gripes about this game.. but first the good!
I really like jumping on the baddies. I understand I'm the monster here because I do that, but the screen shake and sound is very satisfying!
A little of what I didn't so much enjoy:
Sometimes text would overlap making it very difficult to read what a sign would say.
The level design was rather hindering. It kept me from moving fluently. I had to constantly stop because the movement speed didn't feel like it synced up to the ground placement.
Overall a very decent entry.
haha! That's really fun and cool. The graphics are perfect for the game, I think. Short, sweet, and perfectly self-contained.
I love the graphic style.
I hoped there would've been more to the game than those few first screens, but I can understand that there's a time limit.
As someone said there was some overlap in the texts and I think you can get killed by jumping on one of the "enemies" in the last room. I think it's the last one of the three of the first batch of enemies in the last room.
Anyway. Loved the style. Nice Entry!
That was cool! The twist was a great idea!
Awesome Idea!
This game was really creative. It took me a couple times to figure it out. Nicely done
Short, simple, and to the point. I like it.
Really like the game, audio is great and the game has a small message for the player.. I mean monster.
I feel like the idea of making the player sympathize with generic platformer enemies has been done before, so I honestly didn't find it too impactful here, I'm afraid.
The actual platofrming felt nice and responsive, though, which is more than I can say for many entries. The music was also nice and catchy, which is always a pleasant surprise.
Neat game. I just have to add that it would better fit the theme from a players sight, if the monsters would look more like living creatures.
Thanks for playing my game! Is there any chance you could export your game to Linux? (I don't have a Windows machine around right now).
I think I understand now! :D Good Job!
Simple controls, easy to follow story, a little tight here and there, and it you have time to rethink your playstyle. Good on ya!
@ViliX67 Unfortunately, i only have the free version of GameMaker so i'm only able to export for windows :/
It says "Use your controller", but controller support is somewhat bugged in the release that I played.
Other than that the game is great! I like how the player sort of bounces in his animation.
Also, nice music.
That escalated quickly.
Neat idea and flawless execution except one little flaw, I figured it out first playthrough and didn't stomp on first "monsters", but game still thought I did. But otherwise it's really, really good and fun!
The music was really good, and I dig the minimalist aesthetic!
Nice music, tight controls, cool idea. Took me a while to understand because I am le dumb.
Cool!
That was awesome! Simple graphics but the message was delivered beautifully. Well done.
The game was neat! I like the music and presentation, very much oldschool which fit with the theme of making these enemies that for some of have been programmed since a young age to think are bad seem like victims. The controls were nothing special, but felt responsive and functional on a keyboard. The twist on the theme was quite creative and I like how it was short and I was able to finish it which is not something I can say about a lot of entries. It took me some time to understand(no pun intended) but when I did I was satisfied with this short and neat game. I like it!
Did take me by surprise. Such a weird, unnerving feeling - empathy and compassion towards a damned Monster blob.
I didn't try this with a controller, but with the keyboard it had a pretty good feel. I like the black and white graphics, and the music fit really well. Nice job.
Really nice, I actually liked the visual even tho they were very simples. Better simple and good than complex and not so good. Also they really match the game. Music is also very cool and fits the game nicely.
Well done
This was a simple game, but I enjoyed it. The controls were a bit loose for my liking, but it was still fun! Nice submission overall.
you win!
A fun, short game. Felt like the controller controls were a bit over-responsive though.
Quality twist. The old arcade feel and minimalist song also did the trick.
I think the minimalistic style went good with it.
No OSX build, can someone do a Lets Play?
Very interesting way to handle defeat when the first time you "don't understand".
I was expecting to be able to jump faster once landed, this cost me some deaths.
Ok, now I understand :D
I liked the graphics, which were minimalistic but fitting to the game. The gameplay was simple but effective, especially thanks to the end twist. I liked it!
Very nice! Loved the use of subtle Mario references to imply a playstyle, the way the signs were used to build a dialogue, and the clever plant of that long corridor at the end of the main level, whose purpose had to be identified to complete the game.
Good stuff!
I understand! It's not a puzzle game. The game itself is a puzzle. Picked by GB
Excellent music 5/5! Graphics has a nice bounce and polish to them despite being very simple. Also a good fun little platformer.
Clean, just the kind of game we expect for a Ludum Dare.
The gamepad controls are welcome, I'm just sad that inputs are numeric instead of analogic.
Really well made game, you English was perfect. I included it in part 31 of my Ludum Dare 33 Compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/rsAmrwtnu-0
