I added an HTML5 build to the Itch page so the game is now playable in the browser! I'm not sure about the performance, though....

This is a nice relaxing experience. I've managed to collect every water and grow a nice tree. I think that a little work in the art and maybe generating a never-ending ground would be awesome as I ran out of things to do. Nevertheless, thank you for your submission, great work!
A really nice game, well done !
Thanks for the feedback! :raised_hands:
@vitor-figueredo I wanted to make an endless ground but I did not know how to quickly do it in Godot and there was not enough time to learn it. Maybe next time.
Really impressed by this, unique concept and really well implemented. Great job!
An interesting little game. it could have used a bit more gameplay, but I had fun making a tree, and that is what really matters. Well done.
It's refreshing to see something completely different, even though the game may lack any meaningful goal (although does all games even need those, one could ask). I liked this game.
Tree games is very relaxing, this one lack of music and sound, pixel art is good and growing the tree is satisfaising ! Good job ! bigtree.png
Beautiful, simple game. I love how the roots get thicker as they are used more, collected all the water in the ground and grew a big ol' tree which looks fantastic in this art style

Despite you not knowing what to do in the game, I feel like this is a very relaxing game, and I don't think all games should be all about winning. Sometimes you just need a game like this to unwind :)
Great submission!
Nice relaxing little game.
It was overall a nice relaxing game. However I think the game needed some sounds/music
I love this, such a nice concept for a game and you've executed it so well. It's really satisfying watching the roots and the tree grow as you stretch out further and find more water, and the end result naturally looks really organic. Brilliant job, well done :)
Here is my final tree: Tree.PNG
Relaxing game the only thing missing is some rain drop with sound :p. nice work
Really nice concept, the tree growing as you reach for more water underground makes this very relaxing. Visually pretty pleasing as well.
An issue I came across is that the roots near the surface can get really big and disjoint from the root line the deeper you go. It can look very weird. Some audio would go a long way as well.
The concept is really cool, keep it up!
This was impressively well done considering the simplicity of the concept. I found it very relaxing and charming to build the roots around. I feel like it both perfectly fits the theme and is a nice game to play!
A nice, calm experience. Not much of a "game", but it does not have to be. I love how the mechanics organically create the aesthetically pleasing root system without me intentionally working towards it.
Things I liked: - Really elegant, simple game - I loved the challenge of each node only having a degree clamp to the parent, forcing the player think a bit - The end result is a work of art
Improvements: - "Picture" mode that allows players to export screenshots with/without UI to create a keepable snapshot of their art - I nice ambient background music; probably violin, piano, cello, or flute (or a mix) - Could be expanded to a very large game with different ground materials that give the parent tree different types of attributes; different deposits require certain attributes to havest; different biomes have challenges to be passed to be able to grow into - some form of challenge such as root rot that needs to be delt with (could be magical?)
Bugs: - I didn't run into any

Thanks everyone for the amazing feedback! :yellow_heart: :raised_hands: I really did not expect such a positive feedback for this simple game, wow!
Very enjoyable and relaxing! Gj
It's a simple but relaxing game, I never observed the red bar going down so I'm not sure about what it actually does. This might have broken the "game balance" a bit if it's designed like that. Also, the ground needs to go DEEPER too ;)
Overall, I like it and it gave me quite satisfied impression!
Hey @yulotomorrow , the red bar is the tree _STABILITY_. It's working kind of as a ratio between the tree branches and the roots. But yeah, it's broken, because the roots are almost always bigger than the tree. I did not have the time to balance it.
And thanks for the feedback.
Great game, I think a bit of relaxing music, or some sound effects (slurping water) would have made it even better.
Can't really explain why, but very satisfying sandbox game. I liked to see the tree grows while we are deep under, occupying to drag roots haha.
This game has a real potential, I liked the constraints you made for the roots, making each tree plausible.
As it's a compo game, I understand you didn't have time to put some relaxing music, but this could be a nice touch for a post jam version.
Btw, here's my tree

ps: I had a weird but while trying the windows version. Capture d’écran (31).png
Симулятор дерева - вот ты какой! Очень похоже. У меня на даче также дубы раскинулись, только корни торчат из земли, никуда не деться от них! Интересно и оригинально, мне понравилось ^_^
@grena thanks for feedback! :raised_hands:
As for the bug, it appears that you have to download both the EXE and the PCK file when downloading the game. I'm on Mac so I did not know what build is the PCK file used for, it appears that it's for Windows. I'll mark it as such on the Itch page.
This was a great game! I really enjoyed growing out the roots and watching my tree grow bigger :D
No real complaints, I didn't run into any issues. Possible nice additions would be to hit a button that shows which roots are still able to grow, or show a visualization on the angle available for a root to spread to (when placing a new root).
The textures were fitting, icons made sense, gameplay went smoothly. Great entry, nicely done!
I'm quite happy with how my tree ended up by the end ^-^

What a wonderfully relaxing experience. The trees you can create are absolutely beautiful. Great job!
Nice game, Growing out the roots was surprisingly fun.
Here's my third attempt to write something.
@ping78 nice! :joy: I see you've discovered that the ground does not actually limit the roots in any way, did not have time to solve that
