Slimes and Sandwiches by Nick Rafalski 2021-04-28T00:29:04Z
Love the choice of genre! The control is a bit hard to navigate and the difficulty is not easy at least, but I'm impressed you made such a game with nice graphic in a short time!

Love the choice of genre! The control is a bit hard to navigate and the difficulty is not easy at least, but I'm impressed you made such a game with nice graphic in a short time!
Impressively well done game for Compo, I barely have any complaint on this. Good job!
Quite self-explained game and really brings that calm and peaceful feeling, the tutorial is well done!
It's a simple but relaxing game, I never observed the red bar going down so I'm not sure about what it actually does. This might have broken the "game balance" a bit if it's designed like that. Also, the ground needs to go DEEPER too ;)
Overall, I like it and it gave me quite satisfied impression!
Nice concept and gameplay mechanism! It's fun to play, it would be better if the status of planets are not completely random but have some variation over time and progress (if there is already then I'm sorry I haven't discovered). It's already quite well done with the time limit!
Is that a brain twister or something? I just beat the game by literally saying "deep" to everyone, that's... actually NOT that deep...Music is good tho!
The whole game reminds me of Starbound a lot, but the gameplay elements haven't been put together yet. There's little to no indication when heat system is off, and controlling these things without a clear goal feels a little pointless. It could be a lot better with clearer indicators, more things to do and objectives :)
Interesting take on the theme! The cat art really stands out ;)
An emotional interactive experience. Art is really nice!
It's a nice framework of gameplay system! Overall it's quite polished especially in graphics. Adding the missing systems and balance adjustments are indeed needed in the future, and it would be really fun!
Cute little game, jumping feels not quite right and sometimes it feels a little frustrating. Graphics and music is quite suitable foe your theme :)
The framework and start of the game is attractive! The choice of gameplay is quite interesting for the topic, the feeling of the old computer is on point, and the Moefall game is cute :D However as a visual novel/choice branched AVG the plot is a bit loose and I failed to relate them to the goal of the game. Also, the font size is too small and I found hard to read. I think it's only fair to judge such a game after the plot is finished and polished, so I'm looking forward to the completed version!
Interesting concept but the game is a little bit bare-boned. The lack of feedback on hitting or blocking, as well as many sprites overlapping makes the combat a bit confusing. I feel sorry for your losing progress, it could be better if you refine it more!
Didn't expect someone would make such a game! It's just relaxing and very enjoyable, the art and music is really beautiful. My only complaint is a minor bug where sometimes the brush shape is not correct, but overall really well done and well thought!
(I'm always not happy with my mouse drawing and too lazy to get my tablet so I'm not showing >_<)
I'm biased because this game is inspired by or similar to a core gameplay mechanism in my favorite game Prey. The game is cute and fun, but the relation with the theme is not very clear, it would be better if the story part is more clearly presented in the game.
I noticed your game because one part of my game is also capsule submarine, and your game is really compelling! It's quite polished during such a short time, with those little details including the glass broken and various of effects. The music is quite high quality too :)
Cool concept and pretty atmospheric!
It's an interesting idea and I'm quite intrigued. But the game seems to be buggy, or inconsistent in some ways. I know simulating so many items might be hard to process, but some strange behavior of music, the "Watch" option replays automatically but didn't initialize, and some nodes became black when hit but some don't. How the music generated was not clear either, a node stands for a tone? Or the music only continues when continuously hitting? They made this experience a bit confusing. Also by definition, you might want to make something controllable and can be predicted, but you introduced very clear randomness and strong initial value dependent in collisions, that makes your design intention a bit unclear. But it's a project with quite a potential!
Interesting theme choice! The highlight of the game might be the files can be collided and moved by the virus blocks. Control feels a little bit unusual but not bad. Overall simple but interesting!
Simply funny ;p I reached a level with pillars but no enemy generated so I can't continue, is it a bug? The control is unconventional and too sensitive but it might only be me. The animation somehow feels not correct but in a funny way. Btw, the faces made me laughed :D
Good puzzle and level design with an impressive art style! :D
I love this game! It's a simple but novel idea, and it's actually fun to play, with cute and relax graphic and music!
@jeffez Congratulations and thank you for finishing the game! I aware of the lack of visual and sound effects and its influence on game experience, only if I have more time! >_< As for the story, I wasn't trying to express anything through the story, just wanted to create a weird and wild experience! I'm glad to hear that you liked my tiny game!
@5mixer Congratulations on beating the game! And thank you for playing it! Hope you enjoyed this weird journey, adventurer! :D
@fdk Congratulations on beating A:D&D! I'm glad to know that you enjoyed your adventure, and thank you for playing my tiny game :D
@martynas Congratulations and thank you for playing my game!
@toasteater Congratulations on beating the game! Thank you for your feedback on visual effects, I actually went back to double check if the bubble effects I made went into the final game, turned out it wasn't quite obvious, but I agree that I haven't done enough on effects that it affected experience. Thank you for playing and I'm glad you liked it!
To anyone wondering why I congratulate people for completing the game: I'm a fandom game dev and it's kind of a tradition in our fandom, it came from an Ultima reference because most of the Ultima games have it! I added "Report thy feat" ending screen in my games and I will congratulate anyone who completed my game if I see the notification :D
@franrf Congratulations on beating Adventure: Depths & Dangers! I'm glad to know you liked your weird journey as an adventurer. Don't worry about the references, they're just some conventions of mine and hidden references of my favorite games :D Thank you for playing my game!
@kristof Congratulations! I really appreciate your patience tolerating the rather lengthy and wild adventure! Maybe it was just my mind went too DEEP and I somehow lost it while making the game ;)
@rngames Congratulations on beating the game! Glad you liked this adventure, and it was also a pity for me that I haven't got time to compose for the void scene and more sound effects, multi-scene games are hard! :p Thank you for playing!
@phthalogold Congratulations on beating Adventure: Depths & Dangers! :D Glad to hear you enjoyed this adventure -- no matter which part, I'm glad that they really worked for players... uh, adventurers! Thank you for playing my tiny game!
@rexgame Thank you for playing my game! If you finished it, congratulations too!
@ifidamas Thank you for the feedback! I realized it during the development and they are indeed some of the most mentioned problems. I'm attending Compo so it was 48 hrs! Thank you for playing, and congratulations if you see the end!
@predominant Thank you for playing! The void section was intended for adventurers to figure out by themselves, but lack of effects due to running out of time on this section did hurt experience.
@justuspan Thank you for playing the game! It's a multi-section adventure so there are still some other little things to do later :D
@vivien-fargette Congratulations on beating Adventure: Depths & Dangers! Thank you for the feedback, and about the bad looping, I even want to laugh at myself when I just randomly cut off the empty without calculation in a hurry... (well I haven't been making music for years to make this stupid oversight) Thank you for playing, and glad to hear you enjoyed your adventure!
@sanemsky Congratulations on beating the game! Thank you for playing and giving your feedback, and I'm glad that you enjoyed the journey (especially to know that the void section worked as designed)!
@oeschmid Congratulations! The adventure might be a bit weird but I'm happy to hear that you liked it, adventurer! Thank you for playing my tiny game :D
@jonathan-turner Congratulations on beating the game! Thank you for your feedback, and I'm glad that you eventually solved the problems in the journey :D Thank you for playing my game!
@turquoise-moon Congratulations on beating the game! Glad to hear that you liked this adventure, and thank you for playing! :D
@vaanrile Congratulations on beating the game! I'm glad to hear you like the adventure, and about the ending, it's just for fun and weirdness ;p Thank you for playing my tiny game!
@glaas Congratulations on beating Adventure: Depths & Dangers, and especially that you figured out the puzzles in the journey! Thank you for playing!
@armytag Congratulations on beating the game! Thank you for your feedback, when I’m making it I just lost my mind and just want to make the journey weird ;) Thank you for playing my game!
@msipp27 Thank you for playing and feedback! The bubble control is designed as intended :)
It's a fun little game with many different mechanics! Level design could be better tho :)
I think it's an interesting idea, but this game needs some kind of goal or motivation. I can just not controlling the character at all in this game and the game mechanism didn't prevent or punish me from doing this, while it's hard to see the point to collect the droplets. I read and liked some of Liu Cixin's work but not this one yet, I'm glad to see that you're trying to take inspiration from his work!
I really like the theme and how you made a basic shooter game fun and humorous! Well done!
Very interesting idea! The game is clean and well polished, good job!
The pixel art and music is awesome! The story is interesting too! But compared to tower defense, I think this game is more like a puzzle game to find the correct place for prayers, so the demon is kind of an annoyance and made the game much harder. Maybe it's just me didn't understand the purpose of the game, but as a game with narrative elements I think it can be clearer. Good work overall!
Just as the author said, this game reminds me of Blek and The Witness, while still very innovative and atmospheric! The game mechanic is interesting but not quite intuitive especially the fine pen part. The simple Gu Qin sound is very suitable for such a minimalist game. Nice work!
Nice little game collection! Music is also good!
I really like the idea! But I find the game goal is not very clear, nor did I find some indicator UI in the game like how many lives had the snowman lost. The sun is not dangerous enough because of its moving behavior: it even try to avoid snowman when approaching! The control is satisfying, but if the logic behind the game mechanics is more clear and intuitive would be better, such as why a snowman has clinging to wall or wall jump behavior. Overall a good game and I like it!
Really nice art style, and it's impressive because the content and gameplay is complex enough to do in a game jam. Well done!
It's really impressive that you choose to make a card game and consider all the balancing during Compo time limit! I'd suggest the UI could be clearer as the max HP increasing is quite confusing, and pure defensive gameplay without ending in sight makes the wait a bit aimless despite I have waited and endured several incoming monsters. Overall impressive work! Well done!
Excellent game! Innovative gameplay, good art style and interface, and very fun to play! There are still some game mechanic not very clear such as clicking red jellyfish did nothing, and sometimes it's a bit "unfair" under minesweeper standard, but it's just some minor confusion maybe just to me. Great entry! Well done!
The audio is unique because I think you whistled as background music :) The game is interesting, snowmen following the protagonist is cute :)
Fun idea and modifications based on Snake!
The icons lack contrast to the background and are not very standing out, and hard to recognize what they are or why they're there necessary for a caravan to collect, but it might just be me.
The game has performance issue in web version, but the Windows version works well! The game is fun, the different attack type is interesting to play combining with the enemy pattern design, and the storyboard and the music are quite good! I'm surprised the +atk is 10 times based attack, it basically works as nullifying type effect? Overall an enjoyable game, well done!
@justuspan Cool! I guess it's on me, my skill is too low to see later content of the game :P
CAPTCHA simulator ;)
Very humorous game! I enjoy playing it despite it's a bit too challenging for me :P
My suggestion is the need resting indication could be clearer, it's funny that you need to touch fish to recover, but didn't notice it at first and frustrated when the control got locked. Maybe you can make it clear in tutorial that you need to pay attention to fish tiredness meter. The blank after the game fail or beaten is also a bit weird, if it can restart a new game it would be more natural.
The idea is great, good job on making such a game!
I'm biased but I'm just a simple Ultima fan, I see Ultima art style and I hit like button (run away)
The only suggestion is the tutorial is tied with the game procedure, so when you just want to get away the tutorial, the game move forward as well, and the tutorial also blocked the view of the map. I think it's better to add a button to just close the tutorial dialog box.
The puzzles are fun and innovative, I like the game a lot! Well done!
Nice concept and calming atmosphere!
The game concept is funny and have a rather complex mechanics, and it's fun to play too! My suggestion is that I feel the feedback of attack is not clear, I can't tell which one I attacked and they explode far away from where I clicked, and sometimes it seemingly not attacking properly, it made choosing which to click a bit messy. But overall a good game, well done!
The game mechanics reminds me of Danganronpa, the art is cute and character has personality, it's an interesting take on the theme, definitely inevitable :P! I found the bullets are too slow, it's hard for me to shoot words properly. Some objections are not corresponding to girlfriend's words so the logic of word bullet could be better too. But overall very lovely game, good job!
Don't eat the poor cactus!!!
The art is really really good! Idea is simple but interesting, and the details like expression of protagonist and random different endings are awesome! Nice work!
Got attention because I made mine under the similar topic. The animation is really nice and fluent! But other parts could be more polished such as UI. Btw, love the little detail that the hair of protagonist is similar to the Earth :)
A nice point-and-click puzzle game with an emotional story! The black and white line art style is suitable for the mood and is emphasized the storytelling role of key items. The control is not very straightforward and it took me some time to figure out we cannot interact with items directly but need to click the words above. overall very nice game, well done!
This game is really beautiful! Being a choose-your-own-adventure game, this game has the depth of moral dilemma and philosophy of life and death. The hand drawn animation is impressive and music is beautiful! Really nice work!
@cafe-spectrum-studio Thank you for playing my game and glad you liked it!
@agrimes Thank you for playing my game and your encouragement!
@tulio Hi, I'm not sure what problem you're encountering, I will be porting the game on Windows downloadable application, and I will notify you when it's done so you can try it out :)
@d00kl1 Thank you for playing my game! Glad that you liked quacking the asteroids :D
@tulio Now the Windows version is up! Under the same link of the web version
@jyumonji Thank you for playing my game! Really glad that you liked it :D
@larsdu Thank you for playing and encouragement!
@artilor901z Thank you for playing! I first composed the main theme music and found it was too calm for the asteroid scene, so I added a variant version :D
@tulio Thank you for playing!
@onnofal Thank you for playing and the detailed feedback!
@pinballjunior Thank you for playing my game!
@zimny11 Thank you for playing and your encouragement!
@hadryel Thank you for playing and I'm happy to know that you enjoyed it!
@justuspan Congratulations on beating "Little Planet"! Hope you liked the adventure on this planet, and thank you for playing my game! - yulo
@jni Thank you for playing!
@lupercalia I'm glad that you liked this little planet I created! :D
@nate954 Thank you for playing this game and quacked the asteroids! Glad to hear that you like it!
@eggshelldog Thank you for playing and the feedback!
I like the graphic and sound of the retro game feeling in this game! The idea is executed and polished well, good job!
This game made me laugh hard! Very interesting take on the theme, and the art style is suitable for the game (the color design is great!). Nice game!
The pixel art is quite good, and idea is... can I say, cute? The arm wrestle made me chuckle, but not sure if I'm doing it correctly, seems death lord did nothing during arm wrestle ;). The game time is sure can be extended but I'm happy that I can beat it under this length. Nice little game!
The world is quite atmospheric despite using just simple elements, well done! But I'm confused what to do in the game even after reading the intro. You can integrate the controls in the intro and showing players what are the interactive elements and what should player do, it will be better to reduce the confusion :)
The idea and the back story of the game is interesting! I think adding some different types of haunted damages would be more interesting. Overall good job!
Simple minigames but work well! Indications are clear and easy to grasp, well done!
Playing this game is really relaxing! The art style is great and gameplay is enjoying. Excellent game!
This one is fun!!! The mini games fit the game making theme pretty well and smile is on my face while playing this game! It's not a complain but a joke: "your code IDE" is not smart and I wasn't typing like this when I'm making my game! :P You've done amazing work!
Yay I get the work done! What cat, I didn't see anything...
...
"MEOW!!!"
Very fun to play! Great work!
Very cool idea and fun game! Excellent!
It's a cool rhythm game in disguise of an action game! The music is really nice, art style is clean, and I really love the idea!!! It might be hard to grasp when the enemy pattern is complicated and disrupt the flow, but when you understand how to play it is really fun! Excellent game as always, Nate!
It's nice that you can also beat it by treating it as action game and just slash and smash ;)
Interesting idea! A rhythm game but not really because you can choose not to move, but moving is better tactically so it is still a rhythm game :P The music design is great! The visual change when longer time played gave me a surprise -- although feel a bit dizzy after seeing the distorted color. It might be on me but the half beat movement is not sensitive enough and often fail to react to my input. I have to thank the randomization of enemy paths saved my green block and live longer! :P Nice game, well done!
It's awesome that you made different wonderful songs in such a short time! Art style is also cool and it's fun to control a bird to rock! Gameplay is fun and enjoyable too! Great game, well done!
I want to know the artist of this game!!! The art style is fabulous and the game is so well polished!
The art style is relaxing and cute! Control is a bit weird and there might be collider issues around the portal. Good job on making it!
The game is fun to play! I have the same suggestion as above, the float window every 10 seconds is unnecessary and it slightly broke the flow as a bullet hell game. Overall a good game, well done!
@nate954 @astrydax @foursay Congratulations for beating the game and thank you for playing! Glad to hear you enjoyed the game!
@rob6566 @owca @thedashdude To beat the game you need some sense of rhythm and tell the pitch difference of a given piece of music, so it needs you to have some music knowledge! Don't worry, the game is designed to be challenging, and thank you for playing anyway!
Simply fun and cute! A gacha simulator that is enjoyable and adorable! Great work!
