Seems like a cool concept but I was struggling to figure out why the branches kept going red and dying. Maybe I was too close but seemed to happen regardless. Would love to play this game if it was a bit more intuitive.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD50 → Tree loves Sun

Oh this is beautiful! :-) I like to try and grow myself a beautiful tree. This is a nice game to use as a sandbox kind of game to just be creative and grow something nice. I like the sun/moon mechanic and it is very satisfying to collect the flowers. :-) Well made!
Cool concept, I had trouble with the tree growing red branches and dying a lot though, I thought switching to the moon might cool it down, but not sure. Very zen, chill like experience.
What an original idea! I wish there was a bit more gameplay here, but it's still cool to nurture the tree and see it slowly grow. The growing of segments and branches is well done, although I wish the shapes were more organic. I wasn't quite sure why branches turned red. I think this game has a potential to become a chill zen-like experience, perhaps even without the part where the user has to balance the night and day, and collect the flowers.
Really cool concept, massive file size was a bit of a pain but the game is very interesting
Really nice visuals and animations! The music added to an overall calming atmosphere. The growing of the tree felt quite slow, though, I kept feeling like I wanted to speed it up!
Cool game overall. Collecting the flowers is satisfying and the tree looks pretty once it is grown w/ flowers. For some feedback, the score UI is blocking the tree and the player, and the tree can grow out of screen. Maybe zoom out the camera once the tree grow to a certain height. Also, I understand why there is some confusion in the comment section on red branches. I think people are assuming that it is being burned by sun when it is red, but actually it is the opposite. Maybe change the color to something else, or instead of color make the branches smaller when they are close to dying might be helpful. But overall a great game, I really enjoyed it.
@papaya Yeah, i should have picked another color for dying branches since red is usually related to fire. The tree logic really took most of my time so had little time to test. Thank you for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it.
Really cool and original concept - I agree that maybe a different visual cue for the dying branches might be a good idea?
Super cool concept !
Cool concept! The core game mechanic, growing a tree using the sun and the moon, also very cool. I can see this evolving into a very nice cozy/casual game. The only thing I would improve is the movement, they feel a little slow when I'm trying desperately to heal my tree or collect flowers. Otherwise great little game :)
Really nice concept and lovely execution. The art style kind of reminds me of tarot cards, its cool.
This is really technically impressive. I'm not sure I could program that tree if I tried. When my game ended, it said record: 0 even though I collected something like 180 flowers, so I'm not sure if that's working correctly.
Really nice game! A nice relaxing game but also interesting at the same time! Great job!
I made it to a score of 399!!! Way higher than I thought I would get after failing miserably the first try.
Super interesting take on the theme. I really liked the mechanic or managing the tree. Fantastic job!
Its still not clear to me how exactly some parts of the tree heal or die when the sun is out. A little more clarity there would have helped
The tree growing mechanics are good and there's plenty to keep you engaged to move the sun around to try and keep the lower parts of the tree healthy (I had a pretty major setback when half the thing fell down XD).
As a few others have mentioned the tree going red is a bit confusing at first because I thought that meant it needed less sun - but it's not too tough to figure out with a bit of playing to experiment.
Really solid game overall enjoyed the sombre tone of the music as well as it links in well with the theme.
That was the first game a saw here, but only now a could play it (after sleepless last night and long rest), so... nice game you've done, I like it! So sweet and nice, I had much pleasure when I played it
Nice concept and calming atmosphere!
This is very zen, I like it a lot.
I loved the visual style of your game.
The idea is simple but it works very well.
The music is so relaxing, it really helps the mood!
Good job!
Very delicate and relaxing game, i really like the duality of the gameplay with the sun and the moon. As others said maybe the damage and healing of the branches are not very well explained with the red tint but this is a great entry :)
Nice game, others have already pointed out the music setting the mood great and the branches falling. I wanted to add that at the end of the game it said that my record was "0". Did I missed something? Wasn't the record the amount of flowers I picked?
@labete Yes i noticed, unfortunately that was the last thing I implemented before publishing the game with no time to test. I will fix that and so many other things in a post jam update. Not sure if I can fix it now since the time is over.
nice Concepts fun game good music I really like this one
Very good visuals. I liked how the stems grew towards the sun, but you wanted to not be too close or it would burn. The changing from day to night was good also.
Unique concept. I had a pretty relaxing time playing this game! I like how dynamic the tree growing is, that's very cool. I like the UI style of showing the score and health with the flower and heart, but perhaps I would move it off to a side. It kind of got in the way of the gameplay when I had a really tall tree. Nice work!
Cool original idea. Very satisfying to swoop in as the moon and collect all those flowers.
Nice original balancing game! Soothing music, and I like the night background.
