I enjoyed exploring this game, thank you.
I found that there wasn't very much visual indication if the temperature was getting too hot or too cold. The visual indication about needing to re-align antenna was good.
The need to constantly re-adjusting fine tasks made me think of Spaceteam.

it was difficult to know what to do. i liked the sprite work a lot
Unless I missed something, it seems there wasn't much to do. I couldn't tell what each of the interactable were supposed to do. This has a lot of potential though! Were you going for a sorta "Overcooked" or "Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime" vibe?
The art's well done, if a tad unoriginal. It's like playing Starbound as Wall-E. The character moves pretty slowly for my tastes, but I'm sure that's intentional. Aside from all that...
what the heck am I supposed to do?!
It's not at all clear to me. There aren't any instructions on your jam pages or in the game, other than basic controls. I open up the things on the ship and see moving dots that don't seem to be affected by my inputs. Then I'm told "the antenna got too loose, game over".
I'm sorry, but I didn't end up liking the game. If I were in your place, I would probably update your description to be more... *descriptive*.

It took a while to figure out what to do, and I still didn't fully figure out what needed to be done with the battery besides charging it once at the beginning. I think the upkeeping a station concept is interesting, but with limited things to do it quickly became tedious, especially since there wasn't a goal besides prevent the ship from dying.

The art is super. It really needs some sound. Even though, in space you have no sound, but at least some sound effect would be really nice, because without it it's a bit empty. I managed to keep the ship alive long enough (I guess), but couldn't find the goal of the game. Maybe I have to keep it alive further?

@mudlee Yes! This is my first LD. No time left for sound, music and ect. Unfortunately...
I liked the graphics and the idea, but the game has a lot to develop. Personally, I lacked some kind of global goal of the actions that need to be performed. However, this is a very good start, keep it up! =)

Cute art, unfortunate about sound - I think it definitely would have elevated the game. Perhaps just adding a "distanced travelled" indicator would have give more purpose to my actions. Nice submission :)
The whole game reminds me of Starbound a lot, but the gameplay elements haven't been put together yet. There's little to no indication when heat system is off, and controlling these things without a clear goal feels a little pointless. It could be a lot better with clearer indicators, more things to do and objectives :)

Ha ha .. when the space launched I thought I had to move it .. I wend left and the ship went right. Ha ha ha .. Very nice graphics and control. I wanted more things but alas it is a compo game. Well done.

@haztro Thanks for this! I will try to do more on the next Ludum dare
@yulotomorrow I wanted to divide the game into levels. Navigation would be lost faster in the asteroid belt and far from Earth. Loss of reactor temperature in the radiation of giant planets. And many many other plans...
@mdotedot I've been waiting for this comment! ha ha

I love the Starship Design! :nerd: As you know already, a bit of sound would have gone a long way, but the visuals were very nice! Some more tasks would have kept it a bit more interesting, at Neptune in was a bit repetitive. But nice first game :)
The art is definitely the strongest aspect - I like the concept and I think with some more features and increasing complexity this could become something quite fun.

I love the pixel art in this game! The gameplay was super simple and got repetitive pretty quick, but I think this is a cool start to something bigger.
The robot was really cute! I passed a planet, then died. Nice game!
I liked it, loved the Robot! I unfortunately couldnt see some indicators of the reactor if the temperature is ok while in spaceship view. So most of the time i chilled near the reactor and just rushed towards the navigator as soon as the dot turned red.
I will never make fun of robots on spaceships again, they have a stressfull life up there

The graphics of your game look really good. I'm jsut missing a few sound effects, they would spice up the game a lot. Also I would like to see a few more tasks... Always switching between correcting the antenna and regulating the temperature (for robots?) gets repetetive really fast. Something that is really missing for me is a kind of score counter. Currently you travel out to nowhere and have no real indication how far you're gone. With just a few additions this game has a lot of potential, though.

Things I liked: - core game loop has a lot of potential - graphics have a good style to them - the game is fun to play as is, I can imagine it having other machines had you had time during the jam to implement them; you've got a foundation here for a really fun game.
Suggestions/Ideas: - add sounds to give a good feel to player interaction and maybe ambient ship noises to set the mood - Have either visual or audio representation of the reactor even when the layer doesn't have it selected (like you do with the radar/communications system) - I think the way the ship is set up; you intended for other machines to be present, definitely add those to provide some more mini games to juggle
Bugs: - I didn't notice any

I liked the graphics and I knew where I was in the galaxy when passing planets lol. I would like it if everything was in good shape you would go faster. Good Job :)

I missed a few more "managable" things to do on the space ship, but overall it was a really nice entry. The graphics are super cute and it was also fun to discover and play your game. Sound would have been nice (as some already pointed out), but I think it works even without pretty fine :)
Ship graphics and backgrounds were very nice. Would have liked more to interact with beyond the managing the 2 stations. A better indication of what was failing when on the main view could be nice.

Neat little game. I had trouble figuring out how to actually adjust any of the instruments, and after that I found it frustrating that I couldn't tell at a glance which ones needed checking. Cute art. I feel like this kind of gameplay could fit into a bigger picture, like if you had to guide the ship to given locations.
Interesting game. The artwork is good. Really needs some sound. Feedback from the systems using sound and animation would help. A couple more systems to manage would add for a little more difficulty as well.
Nice pixel art. Like others have said, some sound and more feedback for the tasks would go a long way. If you want some easy sounds I recommend BFXR. That's what we use, it generates random sounds that you can tweak.
A nice compo entry.

@impiaaa Yes. I tried to implement this idea.
@super-hadoken @tengusheath The time has lost when I was engaged in graphics and animation. You can try the post jam version out of competition with sound -> [Deep space post jam](https://ancooper.github.io/LD48DeepSpacePostJam/index.html)

@ancooper i'm lost
Very nice entry! A lot of potential here. The pixel art is good, and the concept is good. I would suggest having instructions *in the game*, rather than having the player read the game descriptions. You could just have little tool-tips pop up as you're in front of each station, maybe just until we notice the player has corrected the issues.
It does get "old" kind of quick, sorry to say. Seemed like I never really needed to address the battery, and moving back and forth between the reactor and the navigator was somewhat tedious, as they're on opposite sides of the ship with nothing to do between them.
The potential for additional components and needing to multi-task more and more stuff as progression is a fun idea that I've seen work well before for other jam games.

I see you added an indicator to the reactor for the post jam, which is a plus. But I'm not crazy about the back-n-forth movement of the ship though.
Overall a very good entry for your first jam! Good job!

I would have loved some kind of progess indication, because I wasn't sure that there even is an ending  The mechanic based on random walks is fun. Its nice that you see the status of the navigation orientation without interacting with it. The same would be great for the reactor, but maybe I just wasn't able to spot it. On my second run it seemed like I didn't ever had to recharge, but maybe thats already fixed in the post jam version.
Overall nice entry, I like the details you put into it like the intro and the planets in the background!

Cool concept! I want more content! XD
Neat game. Right now it is quite repetitive, to an almost extreme point... but, of course, the player character *is* a robot, so repetition is just natural, right...?
To be completely honest: I think there is quite a bit of legitimacy to making a robot game that ends up being very repetitive and mechanical. I certainly have a pretty good idea of how much I want to be a robot after I played this game. That sort of storytelling through mechanics can be pretty powerful--if that's the direction you want to take it.
I did find that the way I started completing tasks ended up as a sort of algorithm. I would dash to one station, dash and charge up, dash to the other station, dash and charge up, etc... it seems some commenters were unaware of the dash key? It definitely adds to the game, I think.
I did end up beating the game, although I too was not sure if the game was going to end or not.
I think the main graphics for the spaceship and the robot are pretty nice. I definitely like that I can see the charge of the robot and the status of the radar so clearly in the pixel art. I agree with others that I didn't find a way to read the nuclear reactor.
Overall I think this is a neat game. Right now it is very much a taste of being a robot, which I personally find a worthwhile experience, even if most people might want a more exciting game...

@runuchok I think I'll find the strength to grow this game up.
@honey-pony Fantastic feedback  The dash in the gameplay added dynamic. I want turn on music volume up and dashing between systems
Thanks!
Clever mechanics! And nice cute space graphics.
It did get old fairly quickly, though I think some sound and/or music would've gone a long way to help the feel of the game. Also potentially some "!" signs over the equipment when one of them was close to "dying" might be a good way to add visual feedback and increase urgency.
