Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, is what I would be screaming if I was in your situation. I can see how your cat could drive you so crazy that you would make a whole game about them. I can feel the bother. But I can also feel the love. Great game, I love the pixel art and the fun music. The concept is cute and well executed.

This is a nice, wholesome entry :) I liked the graphics and the audio and the game was straightforward enough with the signifiers in the UI that I picked it up pretty quickly and everything did what I expected. It was a good level of difficulty as well that didn't feel punishing but still added pressure. Really nice job, well done :)
Cute game, love the visuals and the music loop. Shame its not fullscreen.
I was able to finish my game without ever interacting with the cat lol! 2:23 ahead of the deadline! So that would need a fix. There's also some issues with feeding the cat... I have the bowl and the hunger bar is low but all my cat wants is pats.
Haha this game is adorable! And the combination of depleting bars that only 'trigger' on the 10s interval creates some quite engaging gameplay. Really enjoyable experience - very well done with this.
@luka-roli Thank you so much for the bug-catching! I must have set the values not correctly enough, for the cat's unhappiness should cause more damage on the sanity if he's angry. As for the feeding issue, the cat will only eat or go to the toilet only if the bars are empty to make the AI simpler :face_palm_tone1: I'm not sure if that's your case, but I should definitely improve the AI part in my future work.

This reminds me of why I'm not a cat person! Very well executed game from start to finish. Some slight issues with moving around but overall a great game. Well done!
As someone who had sickly & energetic cat, I can totally relate to this game
Such a needy cat! Fun concept, nice art and sound, but playing the game was a little too stressful for me.
That's what we called “the worry of happiness” lol. I mean, it's disturbing to take care of the cat every 10 sec, but that's THE CAT - what else do you want? Solid work in every aspect of this game and good job!

You know, it's interesting, because when I was looking for an idea at the very beginning of the LD, my wife suggested me to make a game where, while I am working on the LD, she comes to me every ten seconds to ask me to do something in the house. I was thinking "what a strange idea", and now that I am playing to your game which is very similar, I think it's kinda funny : )

Good job! I really like the cat. A little bit confuse about the mechanism in the begining, I thought I can do the thing in 10 seconds. Then I figure out that the timer is used for the cat.
@atwooooooood Thanks for the great feedback! I couldn't agree more about the unclearness of the timer. I should've make it more corresponded to the cat, perhaps putting it around the cat, for instance. Hey, I just learned another lesson! :laughing:

@kory Thank you! I recorded the sounds on my cat Twiz :joy: Now after hearing these sounds for a couple of days repeatedly, I have successfully driven myself even more insane...
I beat it with 0:47 to spare. Very frantic, and the time management aspect of things was fun. It took me a bit to figure out the specifics of where to refill the food and where to sleep while under time pressure, but it didn't take long to get the hang of it.
If I had a Nickle for every LD game that involved cat turds, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's still weird that it happened twice.
This is a very well made, hectic, and amusing game with great visuals and music. This game reaches a very high bar of craftsmanship for Ludum Dare, nicely done. I did find it just a bit on the easy side. I finished with over a minute to spare. I also found the smoke animation indicating that the character is doing something to be a little unclear. I thought it was some negative status effect at first. A sound effect could help with that.
This was so great, like Sims for your cat? Cute graphics and fun to play. Even enjoyed the franticness at the end and earth shaking meows!

It's also good to know the smoke would be misunderstood. The opinion is valuable!

You poor thing! Apparently it's true that the greatest work can come from the place of the artist's suffering ;p, because this is certainly a solid compo entry - everything just clicks together.
