LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Looper by jk5000 2020-10-07T12:37:02Z

I really enjoyed playing around with the parameters and trying to figure out how they were influencing the motion, but the time limit felt unnecessary and started to annoy me after the third level or so. Also, this is super niche, but it might be fun to support midi controllers for something like this. Would love to tune the parameters with knobs!

Cool interpretation of the theme, and the circle shapes give the art created with this a unique style. Would love to see a standalone release that supports transparency and exporting to png; this would be a useful tool for whipping up art for future game jams :)

C - O - I - I - L by Ace17 2020-10-10T12:30:06Z

The sound and distortion on the camera really nail the atmosphere, and while the space is disorienting and easy to get lost in, there are enough well placed landmarks that prevented me from getting entirely lost. Well done!

Love the background visuals! Gameplay is pretty simple, but I was enjoying it as a chill game to relax with.

Tokamak: Fusion by Schuster 2020-10-12T12:10:19Z

Dig the glowey vector graphics! The controls took a little getting used to, though. Might feel more natural initially if you spawned the player at the top of the circle, so the first movement the player makes maps to the directional key they pressed.

Fun puzzles, and great level progression for introducing new concepts. Impressive quality and quantity of content for a jam game.

Anybody there? by fumybulb 2020-10-17T12:21:45Z

Dig the music progression! By level 2 though, the amount of weakness on the screen felt a bit overwhelming to me. It felt like I was just trying to dodge weakness and occasionally getting some power by luck, rather than chasing power.

Orbit Jumper by Bentekiller 2020-10-12T11:58:22Z

The controls require a lot of precise timing, which made the game a bit difficult for me. Maybe slowing the ball down or showing a small preview of the direction the player will fly off in would help.

Spherio - Ludum Dare 47 by Luiz Henrique Freire 2020-10-14T13:40:37Z

Great graphics and sound! I found the ball to be pretty hard to control/judge where I would land while in the air. Perhaps a drop shadow under the ball would help?

Love the satellite art and the Star Trek-ey UI.

Spiiin by Temulgeh 2020-10-07T21:51:13Z

Nice sprites and animation, and a very pleasant screen transition effect.

Fleder Flopin by Diefleder 2020-10-08T13:13:50Z

Love the music and visual environment! The jump controls felt a bit off at first, but I think it's because you are playing the jump sound whenever the button is pushed rather than when the jump happens, which gives misleading feedback to the player.

Nailed it by Krg 2020-10-08T13:36:00Z

The controls were a bit frustrating to me at first. I kept having to restart the first level because I kept accidentally knocking the platform out of the way instead of landing on top of it. Cool idea to have a looping level with progression, though.

Down the Bullet Hole by Justin Klinchuch 2020-10-07T12:38:40Z

Thanks for the feedback folks! I'll definitely add mouse support if I take this further.

Thanks for the heads up @neowedge the y axis is not intended to be inverted. It looks like it only occurs on the webGL port when playing with keyboard. I'll look into fixing it.

Snake Loops by Ividusk 2020-10-12T12:34:19Z

Cute art and great animation! The first time I played something happened early on where my character could no longer move down. I restarted the game and it didn't happen again, though.

Loop Blocks by Chrispy 2020-10-05T14:25:26Z

Interesting idea, but unfortunately the game has trouble launching. I double clicked the exe a few times, nothing came up, then after I ended one of the game's processes that was still hanging around in task manager, the game loaded (on my secondary monitor). Not sure if ending the process did something, or the game just takes a long time to load.

Love the mechanic where the level itself moves in and out as the player moves across the screen. Level design is solid, and makes good use of both the puzzle and the platforming elements.

Loopero by Polymorph 2020-10-14T13:01:39Z

Cool game, nice graphics. I noticed that in the later levels though, the enemy bullets became harder for me to see due to the spam of the player's bullets, and the fact that the player's green bullets contrast more strongly against the black background than the red enemy bullets.

Last 5 Minutes by Wizcas 2022-10-03T21:08:38Z

Such a needy cat! Fun concept, nice art and sound, but playing the game was a little too stressful for me.

Gun Dude by blaster391 2022-10-05T22:17:03Z

Fun game, great job! I struggled with the harder levels at first, but then started doing much better once I realized how powerful throwing weapons is.

Mr. Kittys mana potions by TinySalad 2022-10-13T17:28:22Z

The terrain system is a cool idea, but if you took this further it would be cool if there were more synergies between different spells and terrain types like with the lightning and trees. Would be nice if there were more spell slots, and no chance of repeats showing up to give the player more control over the situation. Nice job!

Love the music.

minigames! by thyoi 2022-10-03T20:43:22Z

Love the art and the sound. An impressive number of minigames for such a short jam!
