LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Just 5 more minutes by stoffe 2022-04-07T08:28:02Z

Super cute game! I found the graphics charming and the music was very relaxing! I liked your take on the theme as well it's very relatable! The player movement is very interesting, I think within the context of a dream, it makes sense, but it feels perhaps a little too fast, making it feel more like you're driving by the enemies instead of walking or running by. Anyways overall solid entry!

Graveyard Path by JOrbits 2022-04-04T07:18:36Z

I like your take on the jam theme! The controls were a little bit finnicky but a unique take nonetheless, thanks for sharing!

Dont Wake Up! by Bloham 2022-04-05T04:50:05Z

This game was very moody and atmospheric! Also the idea of delaying waking up for work is very relatable! I also loved the transition effects from dream to nightmare, and it was sufficiently creepy. The only issue I would say was the occasional clipping issue I ran into with some of the models, and the alarm clocks were very quiet even when standing next to them, if you cranked the volume just a bit I think it would help with the direction cues. Also I think you left the debugger on or something because I had a command prompt window open telling me when objects spawned, which region they spawned, and the corruption %. Solid entry and very atmospheric!

Overworked & Underpaid by Chartle 2022-04-06T04:03:38Z

This game is perfectly stressful! I loved it! The graphics were great, great take on the theme, and the voice acting was hilarious! Very fun but very difficult in the best way! Great job!

Claustrowordia by Antti Haavikko 2022-04-04T06:48:04Z

Super interesting game! Very well polished and such a unique concept! I do feel as if some of the words are...well not words and the definitions rarely matched up with what was put, but overall very fun! The music was also incredible! Great game!

Eleventh Hour by Jeremy Ryan 2022-04-04T04:51:10Z

This game was so much fun!! I absolutely loved the art direction and the music, it really helped to set the mood. It made me feel like an anime ninja cat! Very creative take and effective design, the only issue I had was the mouse was able to leave the screen when on fullscreen, causing me to lose track of the mouse and accidentally click outside of the bounds, making the screen go black. The controls were very snappy and it had just the right amount of juice! Overall great entry!

Arkbomb: Pinballrkanoid by Andreadbx 2022-04-04T07:14:58Z

I played this game more than any other jam game so far I love the combination of pinball and brick breaker! The Visuals are stunning, I don't really see how it fits the theme of the jam, but it's fun nonetheless! Also that leaderboard keeps you hooked! Great game!

One Bite by Lenan 2022-04-05T05:16:44Z

Nice fun arcade-y feeling game! Simple and effective mow down the enemies and try to keep surviving! Very juicy and polished. I would say perhaps the golden enemies make them flash or change color when you hit them to indicate they are taking damage, I wasn't sure I was killing them so ended up trying to avoid them. Adding some powerups would make this a lot of fun! Solid entry!

Tax Mage by cagibi 2022-04-05T04:21:33Z

I love it! This game was the most fun I've played in the jam so far! The graphics were very cute and I like the stylization, the music fit perfectly and helped to set the mood, the mana system was unique, and the boss battle was fun and engaging. The only nitpick I would have is that there were a couple spawning points where the drone lasers would continue to shoot me and kill me as soon as I respawned, but other than that this game was perfect! Awesome job!

Garden of Death by Flawed_Gamer 2022-04-04T06:37:44Z

Super cute game! I love the idea and execution! It was a little difficult at first, and it seems like the price gets steep pretty quickly, I felt if you weren't constantly growing sunflowers then the price of the components got out of hand pretty quickly. Overall I did enjoy this game quite a bit great job!

The Good Death by rickbadan 2022-04-07T08:19:55Z

I liked the minimalistic design and the mechanic! It was difficult and required a good amount of focus to get the "good death." Overall solid entry!

Sapper Master by yusovv 2022-04-06T03:20:13Z

This was a fun little game, it was a little confusing at first trying to figure out if the position of the light mattered instead of the color, which seemed not to be the case. Once I realized it was the color of the light it became pretty easy. I would say maybe add a timer per wire configuration to add to the tension, there seemed to be no consequence for just not cutting a wire, making it pretty low stake. Overall a cute little time passer, thanks for sharing!

Somnipathy by Cyzaine 2022-04-06T04:25:24Z

Beautiful artwork, very creepy designs, and an interesting mechanic. It was more stressful than fun, but an entertaining game nonetheless! Great entry! Also that creature, absolute nightmare fuel in the best way!

Artemis-17 by Grumpy Gecko 2022-04-05T04:36:02Z

This was a fun little game! It was a little confusing at first as I didn't realize you pretty much needed to roam all around the colony to find the asteroids, but it was cool that the attacks were automated. The controls definitely simulated driving a giant mech train which added to the challenge, and the difficulty ramped up pretty quickly, overall solid entry!

Fading Crown by Fer Gueler 2022-04-05T05:44:13Z

Incredible art style and atmosphere! I loved the art direction and the world that you built. The grey midtones with the orange contrasted perfectly. Creature designs are on point too, I think the walking golems (or whatever they are) with trees on their head is now my favorite enemy design in any 2d platformer game. Honestly if this is tweaked a bit more and fleshed out fully I would buy this game. I do have a few gripes however. I felt less like the difficulty was increasing and more like the game was punishing me for playing which is not a good incentive. In fact I didn't even finish the game because as it went on the difficulty just became frustrating. I do feel like given enough time I could "get gud" but it doesn't quite seem balanced or fair. To this point, spoiler warning: after getting the first flower and losing the ability to attack, it seemed counterintuitive to the player. Also sometimes the controls would stop working, I would be unable to move or double jump anymore. I hope it doesn't seem like I'm bagging on this game because honestly I loved it! The music kicking up right when you past that first section was brilliant, the fact that there were multiple areas to explore, and the controls feeling very responsive are all wins in my book. I genuinely hope you continue on this project or a spiritual successor because this was incredible!

Night Castle Battle by YaMaisiukDranko 2022-04-05T04:28:17Z

I wanted to like this game because the pixel art was great and I loved all the creature designs, the music also helped to set the mood perfectly, however it seems broken right now. As someone else mentioned I don't take any damage from the enemies, hitting them doesn't seem to kill them, the sword attack is very laggy, and it only plays the sfx once, also the Wave text doesn't seem to indicate a number it just says "Wave." I think this would be a very fun wave base game once it's fixed.

Deathly Delay by MasterOfCheese 2022-04-04T04:57:13Z

Thanks for sharing your game! It was a cute entry, I like the idea of challenging death at a bunch of different mini-games to survive. The controls were a little wonky at times, but it was fun

Calcium Carnage by cactusdan 2022-04-06T03:46:30Z

This game was pretty fun! I like the bullet hell, enter the gungeon feel it had, I love these types of games. Shooting felt perfectly juicy, overall solid entry!

Delay the Raptors by Jared Lomangino 2022-04-04T06:58:16Z

This game was hilarious! It felt a little difficult to do some of the mini games, and I was really excited to see the raptors, but they never came sadly. Also I loved the walk animation feels like me on a monday morning. Nice game!

Strangling by josep93 2022-04-05T05:04:26Z

I loved the art style! This game was very moody and atmospheric, with the music and art direction really selling it. I feel like this could be developed into a full game. I liked the "figure it out yourself" kind of gameplay, and the idea of throwing your eye into another head was great and the bouncing around using the bells was pretty creative, if not a little frustrating at times. If you add some more mechanics and polish the ones you already have I would totally buy this game!

Okay, I have to start off saying I love this idea! Easiest the cutest most clever take on the theme I've seen so far! The gnomes were super cute too, the whole thing was just overflowing with charm! Great job! I do feel like perhaps some powerups would help make the gameplay a bit more varied and engaging and help to keep that pesky loading bar at bay for a bit long, but overall excellent! Loved it!

LOOP by jyumonji 2022-04-04T06:27:52Z

Very interesting concept! I liked the idea, but couldn't really figure out how it worked. Also I love the artwork, but the menu screen made me dizzy. Overall unique take on it and I liked that it was a music game!

Life of the Only Rational Scientist by uik 2022-04-04T06:18:51Z

Interesting game! I like the idea of having to stave off the AI Apocalypse. The artwork was great and the jokes were pretty good (I'm in love with the roomba!) Kind of confusing at first though, and although the sound and music help to set the mood, it does get a little repetitive. Overall interesting take I like it!

Solar Eternity by Oskar Unn 2022-04-04T05:11:59Z

Cute game! The music was very relaxing and it was almost a zen-like experience. I like the idea of the leaderboard but I don't think it was finish being implemented, I wasn't able to put my name in, and the game was stuck after that, I had to al+f4 to get out. When I went back in the leaderboard was still empty. Thanks for sharing your game!
