This was super well done. The puzzles were very creative and engaging to play. If I didn't know it was for ludum dare I would have assumed it took a lot longer to make.

the best game that i have ever played i loved the sus background
Very simple and engaging gameplay. I liked the little cutouts of the player and death.
This game was super fun. I liked that there were multiple valid ways to control the game (I found arrow keys + f/g worked best for me.) Fits the theme really well, especially with the upgrades letting you delay the inevitable even further.
Making an online game for ludum dare is super freaking cool. I couldn't really get the hang of what I was doing but I'm also not used to auto-battlers so I'm sure I'd get it with enough time. The graphics and music were very neat.
Really fun game! The turning controls were reversed from what I expected them to be (which is kinda weird because the arrow keys turned you in the direction you pressed. I guess I want to control snowboards kinda like an airplane?) I agree with everyone above the death screen and slomo were very good.
I had a lot of fun with this! Linux is my main OS so having a terminal based game was very appealing. I found the input disruptor was pretty annoying, otherwise it was really fun having to multitask and prioritize which commands to enter as the AI got faster.
I'm really impressed with how much writing you did for this game in 2 days. Loved it!
Yo this game was sick as hell
There definitely should be an ability to reduce the sensitivity of the mouse. It was really easy for me to spin 180 degrees and forget which direction I was heading.
I noticed the really high mouse sensitivity like madhatter00, and I also had the same issue in a completely different unity webgl game today. It might be worth looking into whether that's some weird default unity webgl setting for future game jams.
It was fun! I really liked how the difficulty ramped up and made the game super frantic once you lasted more than like a minute.
@tylerstraub The level is randomly generated, so if you try the game again you should get a different level.
I loved the humor of this game. I wish there were a way to redo minigames I messed up on. Also I agree with the person above the walk animation was dang good.
Very fun gameplay and the slimes were cute as heck. Love it.
My only complaints are it was pretty short and there was no level reset. I had a lot of fun with it, the controls worked very well especially. If you found a way to make procedural levels I would play the hell out of this.
This was my favorite game so far. The puzzles were really clever and a couple of them I had to walk away from and come back to (but I did figure them out!)
Super chill. I had a good time with this one. I think I may have encountered a bug at the end because I went from about 800 gold to over 100,000 at a single stop. Maybe it was because it took my cows so long to be sold? It was pretty funny though. Screenshot_2023-01-09_14-02-24.png
I really liked the game's atmosphere and the audio design. The animation to switch screens was very slow for me, and I think I would have found it a lot more enjoyable if I could switch between screens faster. I felt the game was very easy to understand and I liked that I could just jump in and start playing.
This is a very cool puzzle game! I think the controls are well designed and minimize friction. I wasn't in much of a thinking mood when I played so I did very bad on the puzzles. I'm sure I could spend a long time thinking about them. Good work! I would give you all an A in a spring semester game design class.
I didn't really understand what I was doing until the 3rd day, but once I got there it all clicked for me and I thought it was really good. I especially enjoyed the mad-libs at the end. I think it would benefit from a tutorial (but also it's ludum dare and those take time to make.) Good game!
Cute as hell and controls were very fun! The game was very easy to figure out, that little tutorial scene was very effective. I agree with a comment above that a timer or dash counter would amp up the gameplay.
Loved the artstyle on this. If the mechanics were expanded on I think I'd really enjoy this as a full game.
Apparently I am in for a rough time. The cards have spoken
@binney I'm not sure why left arrow wouldn't work. The dash starts out pretty weak and mainly gets noticeable as your speed increases in the game. When you press left arrow in the air, does the character flash yellow?
@deathbysnail Thanks for the feedback! The soundtrack was from an album by abstractionmusic.com, while I did the sound effects. I agree having jump power increase if you hold the button down would feel better.
@malcore @mynvs Thank you for the kind feedback! I had a lot of fun with the art.
@tavevil Thank you! The dash starts out super weak but gets stronger as your speed increases with upgrades. At the beginning though it i *very* weak and if I made the game again I would scale the dash differently than just multiplying speed.
@chompdev Thank you! I felt having a tutorial would be very important because I realized there's a lot going on in my game, and that reading instructions would be boring for players who are trying to play 20+ games in a few days.
@simono Thank you! The difficulty was my biggest concern when publishing this game. I think it works best for players like me who really like something fast paced with a lot of rapid button clicking. Also I definitely would have had configurable controls given more time, as different people enjoy different control schemes.
@asfdfdfd @chiranjiv @bangkerpow Thanks for the feedback!
@hfsevans Thanks! I was hoping that the speed upgrades would help make the map feel smaller, but it is very big still. It's not required to defend all of the farmland, so part of the strategy comes from figuring out which part of the map you want to defend.
@nbumgardner Thank you for the detailed comment! I think these are all good ideas for improving the gameplay. I had considered adding a button to make you fall faster, but ended up not including it as I wasn't sure how it would feel to play. My original conception also had the player taking damage, but I realized quickly the gameplay was too hectic for the player to have to think about that.
@eranot Thanks! If I had more time I would have made the controls configurable.
@mightybanana Thanks! If I had more time I would have tried to integrate the dash better in the gameplay. The tutorial doesn't cover this, but the dash does 33% more knockback and half as much damage as the attack, so it can be good for delaying the ghosts for a bit and rushing to the other side of the screen.
@doctor-zeus Thanks for trying out my game! I'm glad you had the experience I was hoping players would have: you start off weak and against overwhelming odds, and get upgrades that make you super strong. Prioritizing where to defend is a big part of the gameplay. Something I really like about these jams is that they train my ability to make games that are simple and fun.
I had a great time with this. The art and platforming were both very well executed. I felt the hitbox on the grappling hook could be a little wonky sometimes. Great job!
@simono From what I remember it was just the flies that had weird hitboxes. Everything else worked great
I think some settings may not be in the right place on itchio and the godot export. I get the top error when running the browser version and the bottom error when going to itchio. The game looks cool though and I'm looking forward to playing it!
