Hey, came to play you game but for some reason when I play it the game opens in a tiny tiny window and I can't make it bigger. Like it's 100 x 100small.png
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD50 → Defendor

Really interesting concept! That dragon really never gives up! At one point I only had 2 cards in my hand. The 3 cards in the middle disappeared on me, but I managed to go infinite with them.
I love the artwork and the music! The UI was a little confusing, and I was also unclear if I was able to do damage to the opponents. I think maybe not, it's just about surviving? Either way besides that confusion, this was a fun card game.
really interesting take on the deckbuilder, its really fun!
Fun game! Graphics for the monsters are lovely.
Very cool, I love the twist of only having defensive cards. And having playing them be time sensitive keeps it fun and frantic a turn counter would have been cool just to keep track of how well (or poorly lol) im doing. But otherwise a fun time!
Wow great job making a deckbuilder card game in 48 hours! Love the painterly art style (very cohesive), the boppin' music, and the smooth gameplay...overall very polished. First time through I was yeetin cards out like they were nothing...which basically taught me the game and some strategy for my second (decidedly more conservative) playthrough. Seriously well done!
One note: I did encounter an issue where some of my cards seem to lock in place and couldn't be dropped?
Super cool you were able to make a card game. Would be nice to have a button to force the attack to happen. I found myself just waiting for the attach to happen. But nice work. You should be proud of this.
Really cool game! I got the hang of it quickly and it was made nicely!
I see you are Slay the Spire fan. That's + from the get go from me :) Really liked the take on theme + card combinations. I managed to bug one card, I was not able to play it from hand. My cons would be audio, loop music didn't fit right for this kind of game. Good job nevertheless
I like the nice and sharp graphics. The way the game changes from strategy card game into "try to play as many cards as possible" against the dragon enemy was pretty fun.
A fellow card game developer! Really like the twist on the Slay the Spire formula. Couldn't completely it sadly, ran into a bug where the a card form the reward screen stuck around, and I was unable to play any further cards :(
Enjoyed this defensive card game! I haven't played many that focus on defense before, great idea!
Really love what you done here. Although I think a win condition would be nice, but given the nature of the theme I think it's good. The setup I had with the pile switch + revives and life ups, basically allowed me to almost go forever, so the inevitable was that I would either be clicking here until infinity or card randomness would not favor me.
It was fun to play though.
I've become a little cynical about deck-builder games lately but this was surprisingly fun.
I did run into a couple of bugs but that's to be expected given the time constraints.
It also wasn't clearly explain up-front how drawing works, or when your discard pile gets shuffled into the draw pile, and I suspect most people coming to this from other games like Slay The Spire would have had the same initial confusion as me, but honestly I found the system you had to be new and interesting.
My only real complaint is that by the end of the game I physically couldn't play the cards quickly enough to defend against the ludicrous amounts of damage I was being dealt... Though I suppose that's in keeping with the "Delay the inevitable" theme.
It's really impressive that you choose to make a card game and consider all the balancing during Compo time limit! I'd suggest the UI could be clearer as the max HP increasing is quite confusing, and pure defensive gameplay without ending in sight makes the wait a bit aimless despite I have waited and endured several incoming monsters. Overall impressive work! Well done!
So... is there a way to beat the dragon, or is it just inevitable?
Interesting concept! Would love to see more variety of cards.
