Wow I love this little garden vibe so much. When the character started humming..!

maalo 2022-10-03 23:10

Love the look and feel! The little song adds alot and is also very soothing.

bqq 2022-10-03 23:16

Wow what a mood! The art is gorgeous and the dense grass looks amazing. Great options to just mess around with the world and see what happens. I also appreciate not having to be in a hurry to micromanage tasks but can just soak in the atmosphere!

This was a very cool and enjoyable experience! I hope that Le Petit Jardin grow in the future. The visuals were extremely gorgeous, and I love the pixelated textures. Thank you for for a memorable time! I really enjoy the game!

evoenn 2022-10-03 23:18

Im in love! Thanks for gorgeous time

jonathan-vinesar 2022-10-03 23:19

What a lovely game. I definitely spent more time than I thought I would playing this, and it was a very chill experience. Graphics are amazing, and the sound design is very crisp. I wish there were more easter eggs!

jag 2022-10-03 23:20

This is an absolute diamond of a game! Very very well made! So professionally done, with great ambience! (She started whistling a zelda tune at one point!) It's absolutely amazing you managed to make this in 3 days!

wendy222 2022-10-03 23:20

It's so casual! Lots of enjoyable! Thank you for making this!

maxi-ruffo 2022-10-03 23:23

the art of the game is very beautiful. Its gameplay is comfortable and with a variety of actions to do. the monster uncorfortable me a bit (I guess that's the intention) and I couldn't interact with it... a super calm and pleasant game. thanks

other-thinking 2022-10-03 23:49

Very cool looking and relaxing experience. Feels very polished overall. I tried to get out of bounds because I want kinda want to see more of this world, but couldn't :) Kudos for peepers!

deprecat 2022-10-04 03:03

The humming! What a sweet little experience. Honestly no notes I can think of at the moment, just gonna hold onto this link for some cuteness again later.

cameronpenner 2022-10-04 03:03

Very cute! I love the artstyle and the ambient sounds. I was sort of expecting the items on the list to get crossed out like untitled goose game, but it sort of felt self fulfilling knowing that I could just be content with my little garden without the game having to validate that I enjoyed my experience. Peepers was a fun callback :)

ategon 2022-10-04 04:45

This game is really nice. The atmosphere is extremely calming and taking care of the garden was really enjoyable. The visuals are great and the humming was a nice touch

yulotomorrow 2022-10-04 10:02

Playing this game is really relaxing! The art style is great and gameplay is enjoying. Excellent game!

wizcas 2022-10-04 11:57

What a peaceful game! I love the atomsphere, humming, and the arts. The way of combining 3D and pixel style arts is genius! I would love see this one becoming a complete game, where I could build my own villa and garden with a larger area to explore. Thank you for this beautiful piece of work!

arya-s 2022-10-04 14:27

Such a cute game, the atmosphere is through the roof. Found the Peeper :) what the heck haha.

bastinus-rex 2022-10-04 16:02

That was a really cool experience thank you  The mood is really perfect I felt so calm while playing. I was so impressed too when I saw the "secret" was there a way to interact with it ? I didn't find it ! Thank you again for this moment :)

julialalart 2022-10-04 18:52

jmad 2022-10-04 23:30

Nice little cute therapeutic game. I enjoy singing. The animation and characters are very cute. SFX are atmospheric and fit nicely with the game.

kostas-nik 2022-10-06 08:40

Great graphics and chill mood, very crisp and fluid overall and nice ambience sounds.

dgspitzer 2022-10-06 14:00

5/5 such an emotional game makes me almost cry. The audio design feels like ASMR and makes me tingle a lot! Really really love it!

arzi 2022-10-07 17:32

Really nice and relaxing game! It could have used a bit more sounds and it was a bit light on the theme (I assume the day changed every 10 seconds), but I enjoyed it a lot!

steve7411 2022-10-08 02:21

This was so lovely. What unexpected neighbors

projectcolorball 2022-10-08 14:38

character design is sooo cute!(rate back?)

boaheck-artgent 2022-10-08 15:06

Wow! This is the level of chill gameplay I originally imagined for my game, I was even planning tools that worked similar to this haha. Anyway this is a really impressive jam, and all around super polished, great work, I'd love to see this expanded or a different project in a similar style!

chocolat-endive 2022-10-08 21:42

Very very cute and relaxing! Loved every part of it, and that's quite the issue: I want more of this game. That's a joke, but a *jardin* less *petit* and a little more *grand* would be better, I think.

Awesome audio design.

geo3d 2022-10-17 14:43

Very nice work. Solid mechanics, great audio work and amazing graphics. Its a very good game.

honey-pony 2022-10-19 00:08

Wow, this is such a nice entry. It looks incredible, with a very complete little world; I particularly think it's cool how some of the objects have bigger pixels, but everything still looks coherent and, simply, good.

Day/night cycles are always fun. I always love the warm colors of the sunset in games.

I love how tactile all the tools feel. I think that two factors contribute to that: everything is mouse controlled, and you can only hold one thing at a time. Or, to put it a different way: this game could be translated to VR and the controls would be basically the same. (Basically, I was thinking this would be a good VR game while playing it. )

The humming is also a very nice touch.

Overall this is probably the coziest entry I've played yet. Very good work!

vhalenn 2022-10-21 06:53

This game is so lovely ! Love it !

buckbumble187 2022-10-22 18:21

this jam has a theme so people don't work on their game before the jam starts. the fact this won gold in two category's despite the fact we cannot prove it was made in within 72 hours is insane. the theme is there to provide evidence you did what you were supposed to do and not start development before hand. with this we have no clue if they did or not as the game has nothing to do with the theme!

auxc 2022-10-22 19:32

Hey @buckbumble187, you make a lot of claims but I don't think other people who played the game share your views. I'll respond earnestly, but I really don't think there is a point arguing about ratings. For me the jam is a creative outlet, a time to get together with friends and have some fun making and playing games. You made a game, congrats - it's a quote from this site that I really like personally.

In response to criticism of how we handled the theme: We just wanted to make a game that was on the relaxing side, as most of the 10 second ideas we considered were either too frantic or stressful. The day night cycle switches through phases in 10 second intervals, making the garden grow and change. Is it a very light take on the theme? Yes, that's fair to say. Could we have fleshed it out more with different plants growing at different times, seasons changing bringing leaves to rake and snow to shovel? We very much wanted to! It is however a game jam, and what we ended up making is what we managed in the 72 hour window.

Statement of fact: everything here was made in the allotted time, and the work started after the announcement of the topic. We've been participating in this jam for a while, there are a ton of games you can look at to see if this one is an outlier.

Finally I'd like to say I really don't appreciate the comment you left on our itch.io page. It's one thing to be critical, but no need to cuss us out.

buckbumble187 2022-10-23 16:43

@auxc the only reason I singled you out is that you won two gold medals. I am not saying you have cheated I'm saying you have no way to prove you made it in the time given. if this was just a creative outlet why not just make games during the jam and not enter it into the competition while still interacting in the community?

this is the very game jam we added "casual" for people who didn't want to participate but yet you entered the "jam" and didn't even follow the theme of the jam. now two gold medals have gone to people who didn't even care about the competition or follow the theme of the competition instead of people who actively participated in it and followed the theme, the theme we only have to make sure nobody cheats in the competition. you failed to meet the theme and thus should have been disqualified. though you did make a game. I give you that.

as for the cussing. I am sorry, I'm just rather vulgar and didn't mean it personally. but if you take out the profanity I still stand by what I said. though I will change my rating on itch.io from a 1 star to a 2. as I only give one stars to game I feel didn't even try, and clearly you did atleast that.

auxc 2022-10-23 20:10

@buckbumble187

Can't say I agree with your interpretation that we don't care about the jam(competition?) or the Theme. We gave it an honest shot, and people rated according to how they liked everything. We celebrated after hearing the results, the artist and level designer got hyped and are working on a small update. Hell, I even called my mom overseas to tell her we made something cool. :D It is nice to see people play and enjoy a game you made!

In response to claims about cheating and the role of the Theme category: You are not the arbiter of who gets to participate in the jam, nor do you get to decide who gets disqualified. Sorry to say, but arguing competitive integrity from an anonymous account with a fake game is grossly hypocritical.

You should give the rules a read, everything is explained clearly under this link https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/rules. You might not care about how we tried to do the theme, but maybe at least you'll respect this quote from the official link above:

"It is fine to prefer games that do use the Theme, but don’t be a rude about. A game made in a weekend doesn’t always turn out the way you hope."

buckbumble187 2022-10-23 20:48

@auxc you keep assuming I am saying you are cheating. I have not. all I've said is that there's no way to prove you didn't. also I never entered the competition. the fake game on my account I have been honest about, i never tried to "make it" in ludum dare, nor have i tried to decisive or lie. I just made an account and was messing around with the website settings as im sure you have. that and if I was a hypocrite it would not matter as my pervious history is not the topic of discussion and if a murderer said murder was wrong his point wouldn't hold less weight just because of hypocrisy.

also how happy you are about your win isn't of debate either. it holds no water to my issue.

my point is this: i suggest you look into how almost every film and short story competition does there events. if you don't follow the theme, they disqualify you. all jam and compo devs should have to follow the theme. if the rules state otherwise then we need a rule change. other wise this entire site is meaningless. obviously it isn't as casual is an option now. but yet without people forcing themes to be followed every category is casual. as of now the medals, praise, and acylation's are meaningless as i could just upload the entirety of lets say: Disco Elysium, say i worked on it in 72 hours, win gold in every category, and not follow the theme and you couldn't prove i didn't work before the jam because you can just ignore the theme. its unfair to contestants who actually do the game jam.

again im NOT saying you have. the main issue here is that there is a clear issue with the jam and it needs to be fixed.

auxc 2022-10-23 20:55

@buckbumble187 What other jams do is not relevant. Feel free to raise whatever issues you have with the ruleset with the people who make the rules for this event.

Also: we ARE the contestants that "actually did the game jam". That you think otherwise is your opinion, and the only thing you can decide arbitrarily here.

buckbumble187 2022-10-23 21:08

what other jams do is relevant when it come to having anyrules at all. our medals might as well be chocolate at this point

auxc 2022-10-23 21:10

Hey, chocolate trophies is something I can get behind. Let's do that! :D
