Really really good game. The art is so cute, the music and sound effects are really relaxing and nice. The gameplay is simple but challenging. Loved this submission.
hi, this game is amazing. I really like playing inside a book. Special items being spelt out is very clever. The setting is amazing.
The game is a bit hard, I think probably because to turn you need to move in a direction so I often just run into enemies when I try to attack them. I think if you had a mouse for aiming it would make controls smooth.
Great game!
This game is incredible, easily 5 stars on everything. The art is really neat, you managed to convey so much detail with very few pixels. The sounds put you into the right mood immediately too. The gameplay has a lot of depth to it. Placing sonar towers just to find a horde of mobs running towards you is scary, panic building turrets and hearing them defend the base is great.
I can't believe you made this within 48h.
Neat little game. The movement feels good, I like the double use mechanic of mining and attacking. The interface is a bit confusing, I think usually you do
The music is nice but a single hit sound would've made a big difference. But given the time constraints no problem.
the game is neat. I like the setting, the combat feels good and the movement is interesting. I also like the forgiving nature of recovering hearts. good job on that. the tutorial was a bit too fast, but no biggie.
Hi, I think you nailed the fun aspect of the game. It's surprisingly fun blowing rocks up and shooting the enemies. I also really like the graphics, they are unusual and great.
The jump is a bit floaty, but I'm sure you know that. If you're looking for a better feel in that regard I recommend Matt Thorson's (maker of Celeste) Strawberry project. You can see how he usually implements 2d platformer physics that feel just right.
You probably ran out of time, but a shooting and hit sound would've added a lot.
Overall really cool. I like it.
Hi, the character reminds me a lot of Downwell. I like the premise and I especially like the audio picking up the closer you get to the end. That plus knowing that the fall is deep gave the right amount of pressure.
I initially though the jump is too floaty but upon getting higher and having to jump on platforms directly below the platform I'm on made the jump feel kind good.
I recommend adding being able to jump off a platform for a few frames after already stepping off it (it's called coyote time), especially since you have very small platforms towards the end. I recommend looking up Matt Thorson's Strawberry project. He has Celeste-like physics in it.
Overall I enjoyed this a lot!
Hi, you did so many things right with this game. It's really easy to understand the objective. You created several pressure factors, ghost, explosives and the time you have to keep track of in your mind. The online leaderboard makes it even more addictive. The only improvement wish I have is the controls. On PC I think a moues would've added cool quick gameplay. Otherwise I think it's probably much better with a controller.
It's a really cool game.
Hi, this is really cool. Especially for pico-8! Love the music and the gameplay is very unique. I found it a bit hard but that just requires extra practice on my side. The theme is a bit of a miss for me but after reading your comments here I can understand it.
Thanks for reviewing my game!
Hi, music and audio in general was nice. I also like the world and the submarine itself. Controls are hard but that's probably just my brain having a hard time :)
the jump is very float, I suggest looking at Matt Thorson's Strawberry project for how to get relative simple good 2d platformer physics. I really like the art, the character has an neat waiting animation. I ran into a bug where the stonewall doesn't lift visually if you do it twice but luckily the audio works so I was able to just go through.
overall good job!
Hello, I always like innovations on old games. It's surprisingly mindbending what you get from reversing the game. since the pieces stick to the top of the screen, I think there needs to be a bit more leeway (distance) from the start of a piece falling and placing it. It feels hard to place blocks to the sides immediately.
Overall really nice though.
That was really cool. The game is really well polished. The ship layout reminded me of FTL.
Neat concept, I was confused at first why I kept hearing death sounds until I saw you can zoom :).
Surprisingly fun, I think this would be great on mobile.
Hi, very innovative idea. The game also plays neat and dreamlike (you know those dreams where you run but you feel slow no matter what). Good job!
The art is amazing, as expected. I watched your stream and despite being thrown together fairly quickly I actually enjoy the opening theme a lot. The UI/UX is a bit confusing. The gameplay has a lot of potential, I'm looking forward to where you're going to take this game.
hi, the idea is not bad but it's a bit too random trying to get to your target.
Hi, took a bit of time finding out how to start the game. I like the concept, the character feels a bit too small compared to the world. I like the trees fading as you move under them but it's a bit confusing at first. I thought it's a blocked off area.
I like the mouse control for aiming.
Hi, I like the atmosphere you created but I'm a bit confused about what to do. I ended up on a body floating in space but can't find a knife. Controls are a bit wonky but I really like the mood you were setting. The music and visuals work well together.
hi, I like the atmosphere and mood. The music is great and the game looks nice. I had trouble with the screen size.
hi, I had trouble getting over the first tall jump. I think the jump is a bit floaty. For 2d platformers I always recommend looking at Matt Thorson's Strawberry project.
I like the concept, the drilling down has a Downwell feel to it.
Hi, the mood and atmosphere of the game is really good. The map is neat and filled with a lot of events. I think it's a bit too hard at the beginning, I guess you have to get better RNG - something which my game also suffers from.
I think it would've been nice to have a player figure on the map even if it can teleport around. I was a bit confused at first.
Overall neat!
hi, Very fun to control. Reminds me a bit of GTA 1. As others said, doesn't fit the theme super well but I still liked it a lot. Had fun!
> Loved it, although it took a little to understand the meaning of the icons.
Thanks. I ran out of time sadly, a bunch of the art isn't completed. Thank you for playing!
>Nice game! I enjoyed it! >I think I had a little bug when the game locked me on “as you grow old, you grow impatient […]”, unable to pick a choice. Finally, I killed someone, reached an end, got to relax with my favorite jawbreaker, but it says “game over”, did I win? >Overall, the story is nice and immersive, but I found it hard to know what I was doing. I couldn’t really “choose” which path to follow, as some of them lead to instant death. Maybe clear textual choices instead of icons would have helped? I don’t know =) It would also have been nice to know when and why we got something added to our inventory, I often opened it and was like “ooh, when did I looted that?”. It would have allowed us to better learn what’s the best path for future plays =D
Thank you for playing and the feedback! I noticed some bugs right around the end of the submission time. The item menu also bugs out sometimes and you can't consume the items properly. Ideally I would've had text for when you receive an item, but I ended up settling for a quick sound. The ending says game over but it's the win state, confusing indeed. Did you hear the shot at the end?
@littlegamer thank you for your kind feedback! Yes Joe is a reference to Joe Pesci and Tony is Tony Soprano hah.
Glad you liked it!
@firefart @saerki thanks so much for playing and leaving kind words and feedback!
@prof-suarez thanks! That's nice to hear. Pico8 is great :)
@shawn-moore thanks! I took quite a bit over from the porklike tutorial series for this. Regarding choices, I agree but didn't have time for more. I also wanted to just tell a story of how getting onto the wrong path can snowball and feel like you have no other choice.
@pancelor thanks! Yeah porklike helped me a lot :)
Hi, game looks great. I really like the idea. The moment when you see things come crashing down but you spot an opening is really powerful.
Good stuff!
I had fun blowing up the desert :). I was confused at the upgrade system a bit, I think the icons could use some text - my game suffers from the same issue. I think an explosion sound would've gone a long way making it more fun.
Good job!
Beep beep bonk bonk.
Wow, what an impressive piece of work.
Interesting concept! The art style music and animations really come together well. I don't quite know why it was fun but it was.
Balancing your different resources is interesting, but I think could be visually explained a bit more.
Solid entry! Congrats.
This was surprisingly fun and interesting to play (surprising because of the 6h spent). I think the controls are interesting, but it's hard to control well depending on RNG. I think the feather is too big compared to the amount of stuff happening on screen.
Overall I think the mechanic you came up with is interesting! Good job.
Congrats on finishing and submitting! I think the game is solid.
I really like the pixelated background flying over but was hoping for a bit of variation. The scrap is really difficult to see against the background and because it's so small, hard to aim for.
The game feels very polished for such a short amount of time. It's also a lot of fun to play, I didn't expect to get sucked in as much as I did. I think it's probably related to the danger of tunnels breaking in. So you have these constant mini games of digging and building.
Congrats on a great submission.
Hey,
the game has a great mood to it. It's nice to see a retake on Oregon trail :). The artstyle is beautfiul and the music you chose fits really well. I haven't been able to finish the game yet but I'm having a lot of fun.
I think I agree with making it clear what the game is trying to be, as mentioned above by another player. I think the game would benefit from a pause mode like FTL so that you can clearly decide your moves. I also think each wagon should auto-harvest when adjacent to a harvestable node.
Either way, very impressive entry!
It took me a bit to get the hang of it but eventually managed. I can see what you were going for but I think it's too much of a handicap for players. It hampers fun.
I think the Q spamming is fine, but an indicator, like a bar feeling up, could've helped with that.
Nice to see an irrklang submission!
That was great fun! At first I kept placing everything carefully but I realised my platform is tilting too much quickly so I started spamming until everything exploded and I was getting giant sofas lol.
Had a good laugh, the gameplay is really solid and addictive! Good job.
I appreciate the tutorial. The potions kept blowing up in my face :)
Lovely art and music, the mood is quite good too.
Congrats on a fun little game!
You managed to capture the 30s style really well, not just in graphics of the room and the game running on the TV but also in terms of sound, ridiculous setting and humor.
I like the mechanic of having to hit the TV from outside of the "game". That's pretty clever and funny.
It's impressive what you put together in such a short time. I found it a bit difficult to keep a track of all the stuff I did. I think especially it's not immediately clear how adjusting a bar will affect the game state.
I think a few less dials with maybe a clear preview or indication of what will change could help.
None the less, congrats on submitting!
I liked the game concept, I think you have something there. The graphics, the chart was also really good.
However, I think the UX of transferring founds back and forth needs improvement. It's a bit cumbersome.
Overall solid entry!
You hit the nail on the head in the theme and graphics department.
The idea of using traumatic experiences to go through the levels is a really nice thematic idea. I find them gained a little too easy. I think a mini game around processing memories would make a good addition, make it a challenge to work off those traumatic experiences and then use them.
I really love what you did here. The whole setting is ridiculous and it's accompanied by a very fitting music. Great art and mood.
The only thing I'd like to suggest is to make the map obstacles less tight. It's a bit hard to push the cart around in time sometimes because of being blocked by the obstacles.
Great entry.
I had a lot of fun with this game. I was constantly on the edge, trying to balance all these things and then the damn connection breaks up!
I was able to disarm the bomb with less than a minute left. Felt intense!
I think this is a really solid entry, good job!
One thing I got into was I had the bomb still open but walked away from it and couldn't dismiss it. It took a bit of time to get back to it and close it.
Simpathey, what is it and your obsession about falling towers?
The game was really fun, I like how unwieldly it gets when things pick up in speed and you frantically try to keep everything together.
I loved the end transition of zooming out to see the crazy tower of our creation.
Had a lot of fun, congrats!
I was really impressed by the artwork on this title. The sprites and title screen are not just beautiful, they also tie in really well with the 3d perspective and together with that set the mood. The music is really fitting too and I was imagining how we go tot this fight.
The gameplay felt a bit slow, I think that made it a bit difficult to really feel fun. As others have said, it feels like a bit of a slower less important fight in the game.
Overall I can see what you were going for and what you guys put out is really cool! Congrats.
Yeah I got stuck there too, I don't know why I didn't remove it instantly. Thanks for giving it a try!
@terri-gaminglunya yeah I didn't have time to do the automatic reset as I pivoted really late into the jam. You can reset the scene at any time with "R". Thank you!
@pitisek Yeah I think it can be quite hard to play depending on mouse settings. I play with 4000 dpi and it feels pretty good with small movement flicks left/right but when I tried on 800 dpi it was awful. You have to move the mouse too far and it makes making the jumps really hard. Thank you!
@naymsayk Yep that's the theme. Very loosely, it's also about him overcoming his unstable hearing ability. Thank you!
@kubulambula thanks. Inspired by an old flash game called Winterbells which did it much better. My movement is highly dependent on your mouse settings. I suggest trying 4000 dpi and making small adjustments left/right as you move along. Thank you!
@mscarrotcake thank you for playing and leaving a comment! Yea the controls are whacky. Here's how I move my mouse for hitting the notes: https://streamable.com/gz2sgo
@nakami yeah it's really tough. My suggestion is to keep the mouse slightly further than the center of the screen and then move it left/right as needed to adjust how far to jump next.
Look at my mouse movement here: https://streamable.com/gz2sgo
Thanks everyone for playing though!
@cheeks thanks! I don't have any experience making or playing music so that part was a bit tough. I tried to transcribe to the best of my abilities.
@lumbigui thank you! I appreciate that you recognized the deafness being part of it!
Hello,
First off, I really like the art style and the little introduction story. It's very endearing and fun. The way you tie this into a tetris-like game is also neat with the hunter hiding in the bushes in the background. I can see this being a commercial game back in the 90s :).
I found the concept pretty good, the idea of dragging the player's attention away from the slimes falling is good. I think you could expand the slime patting behavior further if you want to continue working on it.
Congrats on making a nice fun game!
Very cool setting and mood. The sounds are particularly nice, makes it feel good just walking around. Even tho the characters are so minimalistic, I like the variety you created with them.
I found it hard to know where or who my character is at first. An outline might have helped.
Congrats on your first submission!
Hi,
I have to admit the game was a bit confusing at times. I really liked the narrative and the voice acting and I think once you get past the confusion the game is interesting.
Congrats on submitting!
Fits the theme perfectly. It was fun having to balance the constrains. And after all the effort and balancing we try to do, life just throws curveballs anyway right?
The mood was great, the art is beautiful. The only thing I think wasn't necessary is the long intro with the text. But it's not too bad either.
Really cool game you two made!
Hello, the art style and music was phenomenal which ties into the mood. I love the little details on the cards, animating them as you hover the cards.
The gameplay was difficult to understand at first, but once you get it, it's very straight forward.
I think there's only two things that need improvement: 1) the RNG of the weather spawning is quite brutal at times. I understand you'd have to balance your card usage to the town that's least happy but because the weather moves so fast and often has two types spawning close together it becomes impossible to warn the town. 2) A better visual feedback on a weather hitting the town.
Overall I was really impressed with this entry. Congrats!
That was a great game!
Stuff I liked: * The main mechanic of time rewinding is super impressive and especially so coupled with the double j ump. Jon Blow style :) * The art style is neat and consistent. As someone who made a game about fire, I really like this haha :) * The world is neatly put together with lots of exploring.
Stuff I struggled with: * It took a good amount of time to really get the hang of the double jump * The platforming is a bit brutal at times, jumping into spikes repeatedly. No biggie.
Technical feedback: * The camera being centered on the player gets a bit disorienting in full screen. I think implementing camera drag margins with a smoothing camera would give you a nicer result.
Congrats on a really cool entry!
Congrats on the great placing!!
The game looks really impressive and has a great mood to it. I also like the various puzzles you put in, especially it's nice that areas of interests that are locked away are still visible. I think that adds to the "I want to get in there" feel.
I think the audio also adds greatly to the mood, those step soudns are surprisingly creepy and then the music changes too.
One thing I'd change is the controls, I think it would be more intuitive if WASD was from the view point of the character - at least I moved wrongly a couple of times and I think it's because of that.
Very cool game!
The control scheme was very innovative and good. I liked linking that kind of input to working out.
I think it's a really solid game!
The gameplay loop feels really solid. The feedback sounds on interactions are really tight and you created a really neat mood, especially at night.
I like the NPCs with their no-text intuitive requirements/dialogue.
I did struggle with understand the crafting system for a long time, but you're aware of that.
Very impressive what you put together in such a short time!
The gameplay was fun, the levels were well made and I like the time reversal idea. That opens it up to a lot more puzzles.
If there's one thing I'd criticize is that it's hard to tell exactly what each stage does without trying it out and going through a couple of resets. I think maybe indicating what ability each stage gives you could help with this.
Solid entry, good jbo!
Hey there!
That was really cool, I wish fixing bugs was that easy in real life :) The art style, audio and mood all fit together super well. I love the humor in the code and the little spider.
All in all, a very cool submission. Good job!
Very entertaining entry. I kept laughing all the way through.
One of my favorites!
Very very impressive submission.
The writing is entertaining and put me right into the mood. I initially thought the sorting is too hard because the timer ticks down too fast, we're human not computers.. and then it clicked :)
I absolutely love this, on par with some of the best games I've seen this jam.
I love how you used the sorting game for confirmations.
The audio was very well made too, I think it's hard to get a glitch sound that's not annoying to hear but you did it.
Congrats on the amazing placement!
I quite like the setting and mood you managed to create. The character movement and platforming is really solid.
I actually preferred the puzzles in your first version better but the new version is a lot nicer to look at and play.
Overall solid, albeit not theme fitting.
The gameplay loop is surprisingly fun and kept me engaged. I think you did a great job with this little game!
Impressive submission! I love how frantic everything feels. I also absolutely love the coding jokes.
Congrats on a really cool entry!
Congrats on the great placing!!
After just one (hundred...) retries I managed to get a second date! The art is really nice. I like the writing too and the game feels well coded. I just wish it had some audio to go with the interactions.
Cool ending!
Neat little game! The platforming felt surprisingly good, I think it's hard to pull that off in 3D specifically. I really liked the bird model, had a laugh when I turned it around and it stare at me :)
One thing I struggled with was catching those thieves. Pesky little buggers.
Very cool game! I really like the artstyle and music. It's also very impressive that there's a multiplayer and highscore system!
I managed to place 4th on the leaderboard :)
Congrats on making this!
I had fun playing this, it's rare to see first person shooters in LD! Good job.
I sometimes got killed from behind so it made me shoot and do a 360 to check my surrounding every time after that run. I think some zombie sounds approaching you could've helped with that.
Congrats on making a fun game!
Very unique and cool art style, almost looks like you drew it on paper and scanned it in.
I struggled a bit with the puzzles, sometimes because I pressed X too many times and picked up something without reading the text in time. It was also a bit disorientating, I think you could keep the separate floors a bit more visually distinct.
Nonetheless, I think it's neat little game!
The QWOP of pool chair flying. The idea is hilarious, I just really really struggle with it
I can see this being fun once you get to stay in air more than 3 seconds.
Cool game!
Very funny game, well put together, tons of fun. Especially when playing when someone is streaming it. Top!
The graphics gave me Elden Ring vibes :) I like the puzzles you came up with, it's an interesting mechanic.
I was thinking a little bit about the visualization you have of telegraphic each pieces attacks. I think it works against you here because it lets you skip thinking about the puzzle. While you still have to remember how to put the pattern together I think it encourages our lazy brains too much to just go through the levels by trial and error. I was wondering why games like Into The Breach don't suffer from this and I think it's because you have to balance other constraints.
The opponent having pieces on their own is really nice, I think you can take this concept very far.
Another thing I noticed was that pawns should not be able to move the way they do in your game, but I can see why they do.
Really really cool entry! Congrats on shipping.
Very cool visuals and narrative art style. I kept killing myself haha.
Cool submission!
Thank you for streaming and reviewing my game even though I wasn't there to see it live!
I like your game concept, it's fun running around, planting and growing things and strategizing how to plant so that harvesting is efficient.
I thinks some of the UX/UI could be improved, for example showing an area of effect on the action I have selected around the mouse. I also had an issue of wasting turns because of that, but for a compo that's totally understandable!
The art style is cute and the audio is fitting. I was hoping for a few quacks :)
Great job and thank you again!
I'm shocked to see that comment by @kirkami, that's pretty rude.
First of all, good job on submitting a game! I like your interpretation of the theme, the character was interesting. I like earth healing itself basically.
I think your mechanic is good, it reminds me a little bit bout a mini-game in the original WoW where you had to bandage up injured shoulders to get your bandage mastery.
One thing I noticed is that it's easy to cheese the game by just going full rotation and spamming the heal button. It doesn't always heal everything but it heals a lot. I think you could work with some velocity checks to ensure that's not possible.
Congrats again on making a game!
That was a really cool game idea. I was a bit surprised that my pieces killed themselves, but I guess it makes sense!
At times it was a bit hard to understand whose unit's turn it was.
Overall, really cool game!
I really like the art style and the setting of the game. The ability pickup screen in particular is really nicely drawn. Flying around on the broom is cool but I wish it was a tiny bit faster.
Cool submission!
I really like hex games, but I think movement by clicking would be more intuitive. It's not really your fault, it's just the nature of hex grids.
I really like the way the world builds up as I move around. The cells flipping has a nice feel to it and I like that the character is a traditional boardgame piece.
I think you have a solid base to build off of!
I really enjoyed this. The art style, animations and the timings feel impeccable. The writing is neat and I played through it a couple of times to exhaust all the dialogues.
The music was very good.
One thing I did not understand is the last two doors. Would love to know more about them.
Delightful submission!
@raptor851 you’re the first one to notice that :) try shooting towards that gap that has a little dotted S on it from a little bit further away so the fireballs hit it. It can be a bit buggy so shoot and wait a little bit between each shot.
I indeed intended there to be something but ended up not really using it due to time
Very impressive submission. I quite like the game being restricted to a single room that rotates around. That way the focus is just on the interaction while still providing a visually impressive environment.
I think the control scheme is a bit difficult to use and instead of a timer for the fight it would be nice if you could go forward and actually smack the worm.
The music slaps, especially the first track.
The game looks really cool, I like the isometric art style and the cards were nicely designed. The audio is great, especially the spells!
I think the game is a bit too RNG, but given the nature of gamejams quite understandably.
I don't know why but platforming with cars works surprisingly well.
The art style is very nice and clear, the gameplay feels addictive. I got to 200 before the police swarmed me and I drove over spikes :)
The Music and SFX is neat.
F the police!
The gameplay loop is very solid, I had a lot of fun playing it. Very solid entry with good art, music and humor!
This is an easy 5/5 across the board for me.
* Artstyle is cute, I especially like the squishing on the boxes as they land and the flames. Minimal without feeling like just developer art. * Music and SFX fit perfectly. * Choosing a color to represent the time stop in red is really smart, it opens up so many new possibilities for puzzles and is very intuitive. * I like the mechanic of pushing a box while time being stopped and it being pushed after unpausing. I like that it exists all along in the game without telling you about it. Made for a good head scratcher and a big ohhh moment! * There's a really good amount of levels for a solo developer in such a short time!
Congrats, I wish I had made this :)
The jump feels a bit floaty hue hue hue...
I really liked this game, short and sweet. I especially like the way you interluded the story with the gameplay in Dave's game.
The animation is also top notch.
If there's one thing I had to criticize it's that the font is not really matching the pixelstyle, minor!
Good job!
Neat little game. The sense of speed feels good.
I had some troubles after discovering A/D, the character would spawn and faceplant and instant die :)
Cool submission! Good job.
What can I say that other's haven't yet? This game is simply amazing. It really puts me into a scifi mood, I'd love to read a book on this or even play a full fledged game.
Artstyle is amazing, I love the oldschool vibe, love the old system font - feels very 286 times.
The movement in a hex grid is a bit iffy by keyboard, I must've wasted a good amount of turns just because of how it's difficult to map in your head. I would suggest using a mouse input instead.
Congrats on shipping something incredible!
I need one of these please.
The artstyle and audio is good, albeit the tree itself being a bit creepy - I guess that's fine given that it grows us money ;).
Congrats on a cool game!
fb.png that took me quite long, I'm sad to admit lmao
I had fun with this! Love the startup sound and the ticks.
Good job.
Such a cute game, the atmosphere is through the roof. Found the Peeper :) what the heck haha.
Screen Shot 2022-10-06 at 12.35.35.png Did a pacifist run. Similarly to my game, you also don't give points for inaction.
One suggestion: Decrease the hurtbox of the player so that it's a bit more lenient on the player and increase the hurtbox of enemies so they get shot easier.
Solid entry!
The writing and atmosphere is top notch. Feels like I'm in some cyberpunk kowloon walled city like complex. The game is also surprisingly long for a jam game.
I struggle to feel the theme, it didn't really impact playstyle too much and some of the UI was a bit too quick. Other than that really dope entry!
bababox.PNG
It took me a while to understand what's going on, but once I did it became quite enjoyable albeit stressful to manage all the constraints.
I think for the tutorial it would be good to show that enemies aren't grid based. I thought I had to avoid blocks where enemies walk at all costs, only by chance did I find out that you can be on the same platform as them as long as you aren't close to them.
Polish and feel is on point as always. Great stuff.
race.PNG That was quite enjoyable. The game looks nice and driving is fun.
I think there should be a higher penalty for crashing so that driving with breaking is the correct strategy.
The meteors fall too slow, they aren't really an obstacle.
Overall had fun!
Always appreciate a self-rolled codebase from scratch. Good stuff, game is a bit short but I quite like the narrative :)
Great submission. You incorporate the theme perfectly. Constraining the mobility of the player means players need to incorporate the 10s involuntary fart into the game, together with having to be in correct rotation makes for a really fun (fartrasting) fodian game!
Great job kuviman as always!
You've managed to incorporate a "punishing" take on the theme without making me feel like the punishments are just something that had to be coded in. In fact, it feels quite natural to make mistakes like that when trying to perform in front of a crowd.
Incredibly polished and fun. I can't believe you made 3 songs too.
One criticism I have is that it's hard to see the new moves at the top while having to concentrate on the bottom.
Great submission!
What fun game. The walk animation, the sticky feet, the stretchy legs. Everything feels so funny and nicely polished.
The visual art style is really nice and I like the humor. Introducing the game by a dialogue between the two characters is a good introduction without feeling like one.
I'm a Pico too tho, I really struggled with the game mechanic.

This was great. It took me a bit to get used to the platformer controls but once I had a good feel for that it was fun. Some of the edges preventing you from dashing are rage inducing but I think that's part of the charm of this game.
I absolutely loved the boss fight. I initially thought you have to fight the arch nemesis by blowing up their own spells in their face but later found out about the destructible ceiling. I think it would be good to introduce that concept before the boss fight so that people can figure that out quicker and not get stuck trying to time the boss spells.
I think? you can damage the boss by timing their spell cast but it's hard to do. Adding some kind of telegraphing of the cast, for example by making the staff charge up with some light would add another fun element to this.
Finally, I think the rewinding would've been nice to incorporate into the boss fight somehow.
Real fun game!

Super fun and polished experience!
Two things I noticed that I think are worth considering: * How does it play if you can't destroy your own platforms? I kept shooting mine by accident when I was close to it and aiming up and slightly tilted. I think it would be better to not punish players for that. * I saw the dotted line and was thinking it could be nice to have an online scoreboard and a dotted line for current highscore holder.
Good stuff! I quite like your style.
Neat little game! The casting system was interesting. I liked thta you could decide not to waste materials and wate for others to blow through rocks and then overtake them with a sprint.
Good job, congrats on submitting!
I like the way you did the folding of the plane. The controls felt interesting too, although I didn't understand at first what exactly the input schema was.
The music was dope!
Cute game! I like the grpahics a lot, they remind me a bit of Donkey Kong Country when I was a kid :)
Those damn salty dogs tho!!
Artstyle, music, writing and mood were all top. The combat was intersting, bit of into the breach here. I ended up beating it but probably more so through luck than actually strategizing well. I might not have understood the attacking correctly, but it could be nice to see what effects your attack will have on their counterattack.
Very cool!
Incredible mood, art, sfx and music. Unfortunately I struggle too hard with the controls. In that regard it's tuned a bit too rough for me. Maybe a partial auto-aim would help with this, the movement alone is already challenging, aiming with it is even harder.
I love the idea behind this though, hopefully I'll make it past the two monsters at the start eventually D:
Really cool submission!
Incredible stuff, by the last level I was moving my hands over the keyboard like madman. The car voice being honks had me in stitches. Awesome stuff!
Top 1 in Tokyo.. can I use this for my application to Kuroyagi?
Really nice game! Art style is amazing.

Really nice game kuvi! The game loop feels good, the visualizations are nice and the sfx and music are fitting. I quite like the rendering style with the bent road.
Fun game! The controls feel tight and there are many ways of approaching obstacles. Art style and sfx are very cute!
Love to see pico8 submissions.
The gameplay is fun, art music and sfx all fit the mood. Sometimes it's hard to see the enemies until they already hit you, but the health system is lenient enough.
Good stuff!
It took me a bit to realise how the movement works. I kept using the keybord and wondering why my bee was flying around drunk :)
Once I understood, it was quite enjoyable and relaxing, even later when more things went on.
Good job getting it out there in time!
Great submission!
I quite like the minimalistic feel to it, the art fits so well. I think you can get into a groove and play this for a long time. It's fun just swirling around collecting souls.

Well, turns out im not actuallly very funny :(
Very cool and innovative submission. I like how you incorporated actual jokes instead of gibbersih and included pauses for the punchline.
Great game! I got overwhelmed quickly at first but figured out how to avoid taking so much damage. I'm a badass mailman!
Art, sfx and music were really nice!
My one tiny wish would be that the menu/tutorial would be skippable by keyboard, but no biggie.
Dude I killed someone's babies... worth for the dope Akira slide.
Whole thing feels retro af, the music is outstanding, mood and gameplay feel great. You got a really good jam experience on your hands.
The only thing I'd critique is that the fireballs the player is shooting are too small and very mixel. It throws off the pixelart feel a bit. So does the Akira slide but it's not as noticable in the slide.
Regardless, I love this game!
Very creepy atmosphere, I like it! :)
Great game! Perfectly scoped, well executed. I wish it had a simple audiotrack but not a biggie.
I like how the pressure scaled, I also liked that the tutorials kept sticking around cluttering up your workspace. I thought I wouldn't like that at first but it worked out well.
Well done!
