I like the art style, atmosphere and the movement feels good. I think it ramps up a bit too quickly in difficulty. The level with the stone could use some more lights to let you get used to the throwing mechanic.

Overall I really like the idea and execution.

Art is pleasing, music fits well, gameplay is smooth and enjoyable, concept is interesting. It's short but that's bcs of the deadline. Would love to play more levels. Very nice job! Keep up the good work:)

Lovely bg music, had lots of fun making it to the end. Nice game mechanic.

Nicely polished overall and pretty fun to play. I finished the game mostly by just lucking into exits, though, so I didn't quite manage to figure the purpose of the round objects out. Perhaps a larger vision range could help players be more strategic? Still, there's a solid idea here, and you did a great job implementing it!

A fellow game about wandering around in the dark, so you know I have to like it. But wait, there's more - a fellow Ableton user? I thought I was just being masochistic booting up Ableton during a 48 hour compo, so I'm glad to know there's more like me out there. This a cool idea. Controls are tight, and so is the track. It very nearly hit D&B there at the last level, which was really cool. Basically I'd like to play more and listen to more. Great work!

Short and sweet, and I'm loving the HaxeFlixel representation. My only criticism is that the idea of having parts of the level meant to be navigated in the dark means that if you're hard of sight or your brightness is too low, this game is effectively impossible. It'd be cool if you explored other mechanics with darkness that don't rely on just vision. Overall great effort!

Beat it! some levels I was able to beat just by randomly walking around in the dark, but I liked the torch mechanic. I think it'll be interesting to see how else you could use the light (perhaps something like a fuse, or a chain reaction of lights?). Nice job!

Cool little game! It was quite a bit tougher than I expected from the first level. I eventually decided after trying and failing to effectively kill the monsters on later levels with the rock that it was easier just to frantically search for the exit, hah. I love the touch where the monster eyes glint in the dark every once in a while. Super cool bit! Nice work here. =)

Nice job. It was a bit easy but I had fun.

I wouldn't call the game challenging but it was quite fun lol. I really liked the audio, probably my favourite part of the game. As the description said it was pretty short so that was a shame but you obviously had limited time. Overall I like it!

I love the music an the graphics, it set the mood really fast ! Ilike the torch mechanic and the level design is good. I think I would have like the monster to get closer when I have the torch or something to have a "stategic" way to play the game. But otherwise it's a polihed game and I had a great time, good job !

Nice game and an interesting idea! always fun to play another haxe game ;)

don-tnowe 2021-05-08 14:13

Loved it! i liked how sometimes the player can see where the monsters are... but never where the monsters aren't.

dan-mcalister 2021-05-08 20:46

Very neat! I liked the interactions of the torches, liked how much the darkness concealed information. I wish there was a little more feedback though, like letting the player know if they've run into walls or not. Without that partial information, it becomes very hard to make decisions. Good work!

Neat game. The light mechanic was well thought through and executed. I especially liked how you can light the torches on the walls, or have to light your own torch.

The enemies hidden by the dark is a good mechanic, but sometimes they came a little bit out of nowhere, causing you to die without there being anything that you can do about it. On the other hand, restarting a level is easy, so I could memorise the patterns instead :)

Graphics were as close to perfect as you can get with that art style, so congrats for that.

Sound design was nice, but the music loop was a bit to short.

Other than that, I wish there were a bit more levels ;)
