Great game, it was so atmospheric and the theme really came through. Loved the stages where there were mixed inputs. Loved it.

realkonstantin 2022-04-04 13:55

Really cool experience, but what I wonder about the most is this: Is there a secret ending in the game?

lectvs 2022-04-04 17:02

@realkonstantin Glad you enjoyed it! No secret ending... yet. :smirk:

To be honest, I initially thought I was just going to play a few minutes based on the simplistic gameplay. However, I ended up staying for the entire story. Excellent work hooking me into the narrative. It vaguely reminded me over Superhot, albeit with a totally different mechanic. I really liked the twist when I had to sort things that were unrelated, but it still was intuitive. Audio was spot on.

ursagames 2022-04-05 02:25

Mood is knocked out of the park. I had some issues sorting since my neural network got scrambled from a lack of sleep, but pushed through and got to the end. I enjoyed the different types of sorting blocks and combinations of them. A clever way to keep the system interesting while continuing the story.

This game is incredible! I think this is the most time I've ever spent playing a Ludum Dare entry. The gameplay was fun and kept me engaged, but the storytelling was on another level. And the graphics and sounds really made it even better. This is also such a new and unique take on the theme. Really amazing job on this!

aplovestudio 2022-04-05 03:48

Really digging the vibe of this, I'm surprised at how much content there is. Nice work!

bloodbane 2022-04-05 15:21

Kinda creepy but it gets old soon enough ;) Not much in game play mechanics but the story is good enough to keep playing to the end.

otterfaelure 2022-04-05 16:26

That was amazing! I loved it so much, especially once things started getting mixed. The atmosphere is beyond belief. I'd love to see this explored in a longer game. Thank you!

fenderbate 2022-04-05 17:53

Ohhh Yesss gimme more of that Papers please vibe! <3

str8griz 2022-04-05 19:55

This might be my favourite game I have played so far. Super polished, great atmosphere, creepy AF.

I want more please.

agrimes 2022-04-06 01:51

Pretty creepy, but entertaining.

hcs-hades 2022-04-06 04:40

Really cool experience, mood was on point! Struggled with my track pad to sort, but thats on me lol

bitdecay 2022-04-06 05:46

Wow, what a ride. This has mad Ex Machina vibes mixed with some hints of The Witness and other things mixed in. Very cool experience. Clean audio, great atmosphere, and a strangely engaging game loop. This is a solid entry that doesn't feel like a jam game at all -- great polish on this one.

noisemaker 2022-04-06 06:27

Loved the story! Impressed by how much mileage you were able to get out of the concept, even for a game jam. My only gripe is I wish the blocks with TV static would linger a little longer to let you read the values, but that wasn't such a problem on levels you had to complete to proceed. Nice work!

2022-04-06 09:01

Great atmosphere and mood, especially the music and sound effects. fun to play too. Always wondered what it was like to be `std::qsort`

jvolonte 2022-04-06 16:07

Very well done. It was ineed a bit creepy, but I loved it. The way it captures your attention is very effective, a great experience overall

glayson 2022-04-06 17:31

Wow! this one was tense! I almost gave up in the last sequence, i am glad i tried one more time! Great Sound design. I only think the timer could be half a second more forgiving...

locke8 2022-04-06 18:41

Amazing experience, i appreciate the simplistic artstyle as i find it to be a creative solution to having little time to creating assets, but the mood of the game is what really sticks out. Very intense, very captivating, especially for such a short game. The puzzle mechanics which end up having you sort shapes based off of the number of sides and letters based off of their position in the alphabet was quite clever too.

matt1will 2022-04-06 21:03

Very engaging and very creepy. I enjoyed the sorting puzzles, but the highlight is the narrative and mood of the game. Amazing!

daniel-username 2022-04-06 21:36

Love the art and vibe and sound. Creepy indeed! Well done.

csdoescs 2022-04-07 01:14

Extremely atmospheric audio and art, with simple but effective gameplay; definitely in my top three for the entire jam so far!

frostbiiten 2022-04-07 01:35

Amazing atmosphere! I loved the storytelling and the sound effects were very nice. The variation in sorting was challenging and quite addictive :D

macabreartgames 2022-04-07 01:57

Who would of thought a simple sorting numbers, letters and shapes game would be so creepy? I enjoyed playing it. Very unique if you compare with other games. Well done!

arya-s 2022-04-07 05:21

Very very impressive submission.

The writing is entertaining and put me right into the mood. I initially thought the sorting is too hard because the timer ticks down too fast, we're human not computers.. and then it clicked :)

I absolutely love this, on par with some of the best games I've seen this jam.

I love how you used the sorting game for confirmations.

The audio was very well made too, I think it's hard to get a glitch sound that's not annoying to hear but you did it.

videodotexe 2022-04-07 08:51

The creepy mood was amazing and the game feels very well crafted and polished. Congratulations, this is one of the best entries I've played this far.

master-age 2022-04-07 11:44

Wow this is a great game. Good puzzles that got tricky but it was forgiving enough that you could get through them. A gripping and interesting story and chilling audio! 5/5

geryon-games 2022-04-07 12:18

I wasn't sure about sorting numbers at the beginning, but you really had me engaged at the end. I love the mood and creepiness and there was an impressive amount of content. Great work!

oadt 2022-04-08 10:14

I am amazed how much story you managed to put in this game in 48 hours! Mood is perfect for me!

marcmagus 2022-04-08 15:27

Thanks for bringing your game by my stream for feedback! If you’d like to revisit the play and commentary you can view the highlight at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1448957647

Very moody. Satisfying basic gameplay. I'm not clear how much failing tasks mattered (or if it matters if it didn't) -- I felt constant pressure as I was playing to play quick so the game worked anyway. The couple of special levels made me feel smart for paying attention.

ulisses 2022-04-10 02:32

Wow, I loved the concept, and the sorting mechanics. The sound really plays a key role, and it complements the story very well (very good by the way). Congratulations, I loved it.

skruffye 2022-04-10 16:02

Fantastic. Smooth, simple gameplay, brilliant atmosphere, intriguing story and it even went on for longer than I thought it was going to.

Graphics and audio worked together perfectly, especially in the glitch effect you had between screens. I also never would have thought that a sorting algorithm simulator would somehow be fun... The mixed-media sorting puzzles took the concept further than I would have expected.

Really well done on this one!

jonathan-lorenz 2022-04-15 11:40

I'm genuinely impressed by the mood you managed to put into this vey simple concept. This is a perfect jam submission. Short but polished, with a simple concept but pushed to its limit. Very good work, congratulations!

strega 2022-04-18 02:47

Awesome experience! The sorting game was just the right level of gameplay and difficulty to keep you engaged while the story unfolded. The music and art were just right in driving the mood. Amazing job.

dis0rder 2022-04-21 10:58

Very polished and atmospheric game! I could see this taken into lots of different directions.

Sorting the letters felt fluid and dynamic.

The graphical style was otherwise spot-on, but the end-screen departed a bit from the overall style.

An option to skip the text-bits would be a nice improvement for fast readers.

---

But yeah, nice work! I like your style and will be checking your older stuff too when I have the time.

Keep on jamming!

arya-s 2022-04-22 01:11

Congrats on the amazing placement!

rolly 2022-04-23 11:54

Awesome entry, a 1st place in the mood category well deserved!

If I may point out one little flaw, it's the part in the story when Beta says "I wanted to find something and I found it" but without actually giving more information. Not that the info should be given or anything, but I oddly felt like at that moment you didn't really believe in the story you wanted to tell me, and it felt just a bit off. Very minor thing ;). It's also possible that I completely misinterpreted that part :p

The audio is perfect!

Congrats!

Creepy game! I included it in my Ludum Dare compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/QO-q-Xmgol0
