Treehouse Party by stuffedgravy 2021-04-28T00:50:34Z

Very cute little game. The twist was a great touch! I do wish I was able to see the little cutscene more as it felt too quick. The puzzles were smart but unfortunately it was more frustrating than it was enjoyable. The pixel art is lovely and it has some good audio.

The Hookmarine by Elendow 2021-04-28T23:13:54Z

Very enjoyable to play and lovely visuals. It takes a while to master but once you do it's pretty fun and satisfying to finally maneuver a barrel into the elengreen. Well done!

TREE by Marcionix 2021-04-28T19:02:56Z

Very very innovative mechanic and interestingly excellent way to go about the theme. It definitely poses a strategic challenge and puzzle, however the lose condition is a bit too frustrating with regards to energy. Once energy runs out, I cannot regain more despite having the resources to do so, I think that maybe it should simply not let you grow and it won't force you to lose until you deplete all the resources to make energy too.

Other than that, very good work! the pixel art is nice too and works well with the mechanics

> Retrieve Legs by UC101 2021-04-28T19:36:53Z

Very good and fun game! The only issue I had were with golems and damaging enemies and dying before the waves were over in the last section. Couldn't find the optimal strategy to attack golems while staying besides tanking their hits. Otherwise the graphics were very nice and the mechanics were done very well!

DeepO by Rodrysson 2021-04-28T23:04:20Z

Fantastic game. Very intelligent level design that goes well with the mechanics and lovely graphics with fitting music. Very well done Only part I didn't like was the "dash outward to push." That was a little confusing and frustrating but other than that, very very well done!

Jamie's Jam by soundgnome 2021-04-28T18:28:56Z

The puzzles were actually pretty fun and the last one had me stumped in an enjoyable way. I liked it a lot and the story was funny. I kind of expected the ending but the delivery made me laugh. Good job. Only critique is you should probably disable turning anything once you completed the wireframe

Get Down! by picross 2021-04-28T00:30:56Z

This is an incredibly enjoyable game. The pixel art is charming and the mechanics are fun to play with.

My critiques to make it even more incredible:

No elevator music, the normal music is funky and I don't particularly enjoy the interruption. Some indication that you are dashing, some effect or sound would be nice because the speed increase is small. Some bigger indication of where the landed discs are would be nice too because sometimes they get hidden behind a wall or lost in the sauce of the level.

Other than that it is a great game! You guys are doing well!

Dwarfer Moleman by RodPraet 2021-04-28T22:11:10Z

Cute little game but the mechanics aren't too clear besides platforming and attacking. Art was pretty good.

Depth Perception by Rina 2021-04-28T21:23:11Z

Really nice music with a cool concept and unique way of interpreting the theme! The high sensitivity should be fixed as it actually hurts to turn so much with the mouse and trying to be precise. Also there has to be some kind of indication that I can grab a thing on the paintings. Other than that, pretty pleasant :)

Deep Sweep by Dazrow 2021-04-27T19:23:18Z

Great concept and loved the adaptation from minesweeper. I liked the tutorial, skipping was nice. It was actually challenging but retrying the same level had me memorize some things so it eventually lost the challenge. Basing it off of numbers only ends up being pure chance.

10,001 - A space exploration game by tengusheath 2021-04-28T22:01:51Z

Really atmospheric vibe and lovely music with a mechanic that could be fun, but unfortunately it feels empty and difficult to find things, also the text is small. But otherwise a very charming game with nice visuals!

Fat Larry at the All-U-Can-Eat buffet by mariszin 2021-04-27T19:35:24Z

Pretty cute game. Music gets repetitive but understandably so. The HTML version has the numbers wrap to a second row when any of the food items get to 20. I like the procedurally generated levels. Feels too easy though. It's funny how you ascend when you get lighter and how you widen when you get fatter.

Into The Depths by Jason Wilson 2021-04-28T23:24:22Z

Very fun little game. The random generation was neat and still well done in terms of level design. Small issue with the way the pixel art tiles jitter, you definitely want to use the pixel perfect camera for unity. Other than that it was quite enjoyable yet difficult! Good job!

Toad in the Hole by diabolical-sloth 2021-04-28T18:50:25Z

Super simple game and turned out to be very very cute and charming. I love the pixel art and the wholesome little story with funny characters and distinct personalities. Very well done you guys. I would have liked to backtrack the level though so I could catch the rest of the flies but other than that it was well done.

Frost Byte by Pious 2021-04-27T05:37:15Z

Thank you guys so much!

A lot of the issues became apparent after the build haha (especially in an HTML5 page). The inventory system I think we got caught up in a tangle with in terms of programming so it broke and we didn’t have time to fix it.

Definitely very much appreciated feedback and tips! We could definitely use a whole lot of it!

Frost Byte by Pious 2021-04-28T19:05:21Z

@samarthmp5002 Thank you for the feedback! We did some fixes so that it can properly load and appear in the viewport of itch, I'd appreciate checking it out!

Frost Byte by Pious 2021-04-28T19:05:27Z

@soundgnome Oh that's a very good suggestion actually! Thank you so much for that insight

Frost Byte by Pious 2021-04-28T19:05:27Z

@marcionix Thank you so much! @sofimei worked hard on the art, unfortunately we didn't have time to work on the rest of the environmental assets. Figuring out some sort of flexible hand drawn environment (like making hi-res tilesets?) is rather difficult...

Frost Byte by Pious 2021-04-28T19:05:27Z

@paperdomo101 Thank you! And the blind jumps are a little less scary now that the broken camera following and the resolutions for the viewport were fixed. And yeah the unfortunate sacrifice of environment art was made, many apologies for that!

Frost Byte by Pious 2021-04-28T19:12:47Z

@rina We really appreciate the feedback, thank you! The camera following and resolution viewport were broken along with the scaling of gui so we managed to fix that so it's more playable. Thank you :)

Frost Byte by Pious 2021-04-28T19:14:48Z

@the-neon-shark The camera following and rune system in the inventory were fixed! They were actually pretty broken and we found out we're allowed to fix them so long as we didn't add features. You can try out the rune system now!

As for your other suggestions: They're really good, especially the power ups as drops from enemies. Haha it would've made much more sense especially as rewards.

Thank you so much for trying it out!

Where's my dynoMITE? [LD48] by miej 2021-04-28T22:23:25Z

Nice audio and gameplay, it was actually fun. There wasn't actually any consequences besides the rope being cut. But it was a funny little game

LUNA IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS (FESTA ESTRANHA COM GENTE ESQUISITA ) by zagoiris 2021-04-28T00:09:39Z

I have to say it definitely was interesting to see how trippy it could get. The clutter in each scene that had colliders though was a little frustrating, the different enemy types were cool. Some indication of health was nice as I didn't feel I was in any danger. Keeping the art styles consistent would have been nice as well but I did enjoy the pixel art and the effects were used well. The molotov enemy type really made it interesting to fight. Really great audio too.

Erode by EnergizedBlast 2021-04-28T00:14:14Z

Really good concept and idea, my only issue is that once I picked a spot to go down in, I couldn't figure out how to control more the direction I wanted to drill in. I wasn't sure what the burst of water was for. But it is a charming little game, but felt slow. Perhaps the speed of descent and the drill power were increased so it feels more fast paced?

SPERMA by the neon shark 2021-04-28T21:32:13Z

Very very funny, although the starting had some uuhhhhh unexpected art (especially with family around) it was a pretty innovative way to interpret the theme. I suppose it is an interesting biology lesson too. The controls were hard to get right though and I felt a bit more frustrated with my experience, but the upgrade system was an interesting way to balance it.

LD49 — Unstable

Sky Burns Red by nardandas 2021-10-05T04:12:44Z

Very nice! Very well polished. Confused a little at first since I went straight for the game but honestly really nice art and very interesting concept. The editor in particular was super impressive

Pillars of Stability by AMastryukov 2021-10-05T04:55:28Z

Wow! Good job guys this was a great entry. Really nice overall I'd say. Good smooth gameplay and really well polished

Herman's Fallacy by LarrySeinfeld 2021-10-05T05:05:50Z

Very funny haha. The music was actually smart since it was catchy. Unfortunately it was too hard. I kept getting physically stuck and I couldn't make it to the end. I imagine Carol was humorously ugly or something. Good job though

Hazmat Magic by Ismael Rodriguez 2021-10-09T06:02:04Z

I found you through your webgl tips. I have to say what a fantastic lovely little game! It was excellent and overall amazing. The creativity in the puzzles using such few mechanics was very nice with lovely little graphics and was decently challenging and fun. Amazing job I would love to learn more about your process making this. I'm impressed with having a great 2d character controller. Honestly would love to see more of your insight, decision making process, and having you as some kind of teacher haha, I feel like there's a lot to learn from a small lovely game like this. I'd say this is a real winner!

Hazmat Magic by Ismael Rodriguez 2021-10-09T06:05:39Z

My only criticism from this game is having the text on the bottom left last longer. I missed the "2 parts = stable" thing and I got stuck not knowing why the bottle was breaking. Other than that the invisible tutorials teaching about unstable bottles was very clever and adding in overlapping elements was very smart. There's a lot of talent here.

Hazmat Magic by Ismael Rodriguez 2021-10-09T21:55:27Z

@ismael-rodriguez Totally understandable! It wasn’t the biggest setback. And I discovered the channel! Definitely deserved a subscribe, enjoyed watching your previous devlogs and I absolutely enjoyed the little animation technique top. 5 minute tip videos on something that can be incredibly useful tend to be very memorable.

Devil's Sitter by VPhyre 2021-10-05T05:35:55Z

Graphics were great. Very challenging and entertaining. Nice work. Items were a little small to see and the viewport too. Music was fantastic and set the mood. The sudden death animation was really crazy. Nice ending.

Unstable connection by Daniikk1012 2021-10-05T05:20:43Z

Good idea, nice audio sfx but a pause button in the middle of the game for adjusting audio would be nicer, specifically the door creek sound. Graphics are nice and the music is homey and fits the vibe very well. Game is cool but hard

Last Breath by Pious 2021-10-05T21:00:42Z

@juegoman Thank you! Apologies for the repetitiveness, it was the most we could do with few hours, we hope it was at least interesting and intriguing!

Last Breath by Pious 2021-10-05T21:02:32Z

@baconharemthug Thank you so much! Unfortunately there wasn’t very much time for more abilities and balancing but I hope you found it intriguing!

Last Breath by Pious 2021-10-05T21:44:52Z

@cerieyele Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate your understanding :)

Last Breath by Pious 2021-10-06T22:12:20Z

@Matt-Fabius Thank you so much! I appreciate your understanding and haha unfortunately we didn’t have enough time for balancing too much, it is possible to beat but it’s pretty difficult and a bit dragged out

Last Breath by Pious 2021-10-06T22:13:50Z

@OllieOA Thank you for your feedback! :) The combat unfortunately had much to be desired but I’m glad you enjoyed how it looked and like the concept!

@vphyre Thank you so much for your kind words! :) We appreciate your comment and time playing and we’re glad you liked the idea!

Last Breath by Pious 2021-10-06T22:16:04Z

@GeoBlackrU Thank you! Our wonderful lovely artist @sofimei did a great job :)

Last Breath by Pious 2021-10-06T22:17:51Z

@graios Thank you for the feedback! Unfortunately we didn’t have much time to balance and the combat was left wanting. Also the lack of consequences for stability was a bug resulting not properly putting it into the inspector, but we fixed it now!

Road to joy by arya-s 2021-10-08T04:06:23Z

Extremely innovative game! The title is very punny, the audio component as gameplay was clever, the theme of going deaf is very creative. I'd say this was a good job despite the tad bit of difficulty in the beginning. Our musician will definitely enjoy this!

Disturbed Void by haivron 2021-10-06T03:08:04Z

Great game! Very smooth movement, and lots of character animations makes the player character feel and look satisfying.

Drunken Hobo by PlovGuru 2021-10-05T05:08:19Z

Ahh I would love to play

A Crowded Place by DestroyerTech 2021-10-05T04:51:25Z

Pretty unexpected honestly. Very moody and simple idea made it not too engaging but really hit at the end.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Long Live the King by Pennycook 2022-04-10T21:51:13Z

Pretty nice pixel art! Pretty interesting idea, but I basically would be in an infinite loop of moving back and forth up and down. I'm not sure if I should be doing something different. I think it would've been interesting to keep this on a regular chessboard, have the enemy king there too, and just avoid checkmate as long as possible. Give the enemy "player" a "mistake" randomized every now and then. It'll be cool to learn endgames this way too. I like the music. The dialogue and the ui is pretty awesome too.

Good job!

Beach Breach by eonarheim 2022-04-10T02:28:16Z

Cool and cute take on Plants v Zombies. It's polished and complete, and has a whole system down. You captured the PvZ feel well and it was actually fun and engaging, just right until the enemies storm a side and there's not really much you can do about it unfortunately. But well done and fantastic work.

Good job!

Overworked & Underpaid by Chartle 2022-04-10T04:03:25Z

Cute pixel art! Very well done, and the sound design was pretty intelligent. It was fast paced and definitely provided a challenge. Was pretty fun and fit the theme well. Hard to say this game was humorous since patients were dying but the cute voices does add.

Good job!

Off with the show! by edwigelel 2022-04-10T03:27:03Z

The singer did a great job at the end and was pretty cool. But unfortunately this game desperately lacked feedback with combinations. I still am unsure if I combined things and the timer was not very easy to see. The 3d models were nice. And the music was really cool.

Good job!

Eleventh Hour by Jeremy Ryan 2022-04-22T02:53:19Z

I just played it now that I discovered it's a winner. And oh my goodness, it definitely deserves it's place! Fantastic job and honestly a masterclass for a jam. I want to study it and learn from it. The simplicity of the character, the mechanics, how great it feels to throw kunai and pick it up, simple music, absolutely great. I can't give it a rating anymore but I totally would give it great scores all around. Fantastic job!

Eleventh Hour by Jeremy Ryan 2022-04-22T02:56:20Z

Honestly I may reach out and ask you more about your thought process and how you approached the jam. I'd love to see a post mortem too

Insufficient Supper by greymouth 2022-04-10T02:17:02Z

Nice idea! Good job putting in a tutorial and some kind of inventory system. It's a completed game but unfortunately not too engaging. It didn't feel like a challenge and I think having some kind of timer to lose would have done well. Also there should be some way to respawn or sell some things. I felt like I could've sold some bowls or pans or something to buy more ingredients, but I just ran out of money way too quickly. The keyboard controls were not the most intuitive however. But good job on getting something done and entered, it was cute!

Farm Dog by Trypants 2022-04-10T18:37:13Z

Wow pretty fantastic entry!! I like the basic mechanics and the gradual increase in difficulty made it fun. I do wish there was some visible way to see that the enemies are stronger though. The highscore boards is really cool and the art and audio make the whole game feel very polished. The one issue that bothered me the most is that I didn't really receive any feedback when I got hurt or when I landed a shot against the enemy/how much damage I did. It would've made things better. But overall really really well done.

Good job!

Untitled Zombie Shooter by Ismael Rodriguez by Ismael Rodriguez 2022-04-09T05:35:19Z

Hello again! I gotta give you massive credit for trying something new. I loved your platformer styled games and seeing an FPS was new. It's unfortunate you didn't get everything you wanted in there, but it's great you got something finished and working! I hope to see more from you as I'm sure your improvement in a new field can rapidly increase!

That said, here are my thoughts: -Controller is a bit tough. Doesn't feel quite right, and unfortunately I'm used to higher end stuff like Apex Legends or CSGO. So I understand how much of a challenge a good FPS controller can be. -The 2.5d pixel art is very nice and the zombie design is good. I love the glowing eyes, in fact I actually wonder how you did that. It looks creepy and feels creepy. -But it's very very difficult very early. I feel like I could have a lot of fun with the punch and boost mechanic, but I had absolutely no idea when a zombie would sneak up on me and kill me. So I did not have much time to play with what I think was the strongest part of your game. -The mood is good. Zombies sneaking up definitely gave me one of those enjoyable jump scares, so massive props for giving an authentic horror Doom style vibe!

Overall, definitely a great entry for a clutch kind of experience.

I hope to see more of your stuff in the future and maybe even a post mortem / video! I hope you have a great rest of the jam and wish you best!!

Extremely Exteme Sports by kuviman 2022-04-10T22:51:02Z

This is so enjoyable! Had fun playing with you and I like the little customization. The graphics have a charm. It's definitely a challenge but it's enjoyable. I think the emotes really add a ton because it makes it feel like I'm interacting a lot more than just moving and competing. Fantastic submission.

Good job!

T Knight againts the Hydra by Becher 2022-04-10T18:21:47Z

This is a pretty great game! The concept is awesome and the execution is great. I'm so curious on your process and workflow as to how you made the hydra. It's such an awesome enemy! I can see this being a pretty awesome boss for a 2d game. It's fun and the attack jump is a fun way to combo on the heads! The few issues relate to hitboxes. When a head is chopped off, sometimes the dead head still hurts, which is a bit frustrating. And also it feels as if the sword's hitbox isn't generous enough since it's a bit more difficult than it feels it should be to hit a head while jumping. I feel like it should extend downward a little bit more. But other than that it's very impressive. Feedback is good and so is the main mechanic. Fantastic entry.

Good job!

Pizza Gal by No Grapes Games 2022-04-09T05:07:05Z

This was definitely a cute entry! The amount of creativity into the theme and have a coherent story around it is pretty good. The comics and art was really nice and very well done, and the whole game feels polished and complete. The music was nice but repetitive a little.

Good job!

We Need To Talk by Doot 2022-04-10T02:42:15Z

Very unique! What a polished game. I like the vibe with the fighting game and the cute idea of trying to avoid terrible news, the twist at the end is funny. Nice art, and good tutorial. Overall a strong entry. One issue though is that I don't know right away what words do which action (freeze vs blow). I do like the feedback and the effects, they were cool.

Good job!

Highrail to hell by BadPiggy 2022-04-10T04:16:27Z

Very nicely well put game. It was short and I was left wanting more. Your innovation was good as the combination of mechanics to do certain tasks was great and the feedback was very crisp and great. I liked it a lot and I loved having to be creative with how I was going to approach each objective. Unfortunately seeing the objective was a bit difficult and there was a level where I was trying to break down the door when I had to actually have the zombie die from the horde, but I did make it through haha. Strong entry and I like the art style.

Good job!

Unknowable by Briibot 2022-04-09T03:27:35Z

Very cute! Really liked the art, and the little talking sound effects were nice. I didn't know exactly how the distractions contributed and I wasn't sure how to delay it longer. The resulting screen is cute. Animations were also very smooth.

The VortExperience by Hawkin 2022-04-10T03:18:57Z

Pretty well done and the voice acting really makes this entry great! The mechanics are a bit repetitive and not really that fun but the audio and funny story as well as the nice little touch of animation when the dude leaves puts things together. The character selection is cool. But overall well done.

Good job!

Department Of Demise by Crychair 2022-04-09T04:51:17Z

Very well polished and very well done. Definitely a challenge and quite unique. I personally wasn't having fun but I wasn't bored either, I was totally engaged and I can see how this is good for people who like office sims since the theme made it interesting. Pretty funny too, but I will say, I didn't appreciate the covid references. It's too politically contentious, it was (and is) a stressful time, and I kinda want to forget about it all, and it's also insensitive to the whole situation. As a general matter, you'll be alienating some players with that and it'll drop the overall lighthearted mood you had going on.

Other than that, the skill displayed was impressive. Good job!

The Inevitable Sinking by Alpha Wolf Studios 2022-04-09T03:39:39Z

This was pretty engaging! I felt the energy ramp up! And wow what a big team. The hand drawn art is cute however I see that the art team is big and what I saw was mostly a bunch of kind cohesive but also independent drawings tweened in. It's definitely well put, but in the future, perhaps have the drawings at least be of similar size/scale so it looks more cohesive?

Wormageddon by MatterLinx 2022-04-10T03:52:37Z

Very well done! Fantastic entry. The visuals were amazing, I'm guessing you used a pixelated shader? The feedback was nice but the attacks could've been better telegraphed. It was difficult for me to shield when he shot the laser straight forward. I like the old man laughing. The placement of the sign is smart. The music was good. I do wish there was a clear sign of how to restart the game when you die as you died. But other than that, animations and visuals are the game's strongest suit. Fantastic game.

Good job!

Granting Immortality by BluishGreenPro 2022-04-10T21:30:20Z

Lovely little cute game. Haha I ended up not granting anyone immortality because I personally believe it's a valid human limitation and perhaps what actually makes us human to keep our lives. In all honesty I think it did make me appreciate the value of a limited life a lot more, as all these things I believe are not as valuable as a limited life. Memento Mori! Thank you for the game!

RIITA by wobs 2022-04-10T03:10:48Z

WOW what an entry. That was fantastic and definitely winner material right there. Very cohesive art with adorable animations. Great music and fantastic audio work. The rhythm game was actually very fun and engaging and brought me back to the guitar hero times. It was also very funny, and charming. Super well polished and on top of all that, it also had another side to play as too! Both night and day. I had a good time and enjoyed seeing the two competing cults basically vibe.

Good job!

BOX IN OX by Jonah_SRG 2022-04-09T05:13:07Z

Cute game. I liked the pixel art. The tetris style was clever despite not actually being tetris and it fit the theme well. The scenario of having an ox in a china shop is pretty funny, who thought that was a good idea. Either way, creative and well done. Definitely had to deal with some trial and error in order to fully understand what's going on even after reading the description, but once I got the hang of it, things made sense.

Good job!

Over the Rainbow Bridge by Iguanana 2022-04-10T02:36:54Z

Nice and cute little game. I can see the emotional journey and I have to say a very good entry for not only your first LD but a Compo at that. It could be more fun, as I was engaged more by the story rather than the gameplay. I see lots of potential, and I do like the minimalist pixel art. Well done.

Good job!

Cold and Alone by David York 2022-04-09T03:15:04Z

WOW what a game. This is very well done and very polished. Had to knock off a point for fun because at some point it got repetitive. But the mood is perfect (Even without the audio). Under normal circumstances, no audio would've knocked points for that, but this is totally an exception. Theme definitely fit. I was actually waiting to be rescued and I verbally asked myself "I wonder when I'll be resc-... oh..." it hit me and honestly felt very sad. Wonderful work. Pixel art is beautiful. Really felt like an old pc game experience. image_2022-04-08_230928.png

Persist Ant by rynsy 2022-04-10T03:33:02Z

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THAT CHECKPOINT WHAT

Persist Ant by rynsy 2022-04-10T03:37:56Z

Real talk. The concept is cool and the illustrations are cute. But the character controller kinda takes away from it. It's not that enjoyable to jump but you did make an interesting challenge and when you do a power move, it does feel satisfying. Perhaps just work on the jumping a bit more and make it so you instantly respawn when you fall into a put of spikes or spike things because at that point you're just waiting for your death. But overall, pretty well done.

Good job!

SkyTimer by TheSerOT 2022-04-10T03:57:59Z

Great entry! The character controller is great and the movement feels fantastic especially once you get used to it for the easier part in the beginning. The visuals were superb and the audio is pretty good to go along with it. I'm giving humor points literally for the fact the dude sounds like a villager when he splats. I also heard Adam C Younis's analysis on this entry and thought it was genius to make timescale increasing the way you ramp up difficulty rather than speed of the fall so that the control speed was persistent.

Overall good job!

LIGHTDANCER by xk_the_name 2023-10-08T03:22:43Z

Don't know what else to say. This was a fantastic game. Smooth gameplay, satisfying to shoot and roll, was interesting to have lighting as a dynamic (thought of something similar in my game but not as well executed), and tiny little story and boss to end it all off. Very well done definitely a fantastic entry!

The Island Warlords by firellon 2023-10-08T05:59:08Z

Really impressed you were able to get a whole skill based tactics game in LD! Really nicely done, the squads thing is really cool, I felt like the second level's turn based thing was a bit slow paced. The last level was a real challenge and really made me think.

Nice entry!

Rude Bear Rollout by alexrose 2023-10-07T05:04:04Z

VERY well done! Polished and funny idea. Puzzles are interesting. It feels like getting over it. I really like the little details with the bear's feet coming out in air, where his face is facing, all these little things that make it feel more alive. I love the story board scenes and the transitions. Excellent!

I Do by Togis 2023-10-08T04:06:37Z

What a wonderful take on the theme. My fiancee (Sofi, our artist) and I both participated in the LD jam this time and let me tell you how hilarious it was for me to just roll through all this and be like "What would I really do for our wedding?" Very well done and the optional level was funny as well (and definitely NOT what I would do for our actual wedding!). Very happy to see a Godot entry like this and it was really cool to see all the little systems in place. Please do like a dev log of sorts if you can! Fantastic entry!

Rover Under by ColeSlaughter 2023-10-08T03:13:29Z

Really well done! Such a cool concept and every jam needs one of these, glad to see you guys do something like this. The art and models are wonderful. Although something should explain the concept, either the LD page or something, as I was wondering if there was anything else to do. I believe something that could've minimally enhanced the experience was some sort of minimap for the chunk you were on perhaps? Orient yourself on the map as well as see what spots you missed. Either way, fantastic entry and great work! (Go Team blue!)

Hope Falters by Jeremy Ryan 2023-10-05T01:54:22Z

WOW this is a real winner! What a fantastic entry. Extremely well designed and the progression of the levels teaching the player how to play and the concepts to really make a challenge at the end. Absolutely wonderful. I'll see if I can make a level sometime after rating some more games but I'm so glad I followed you on LD. This entry blew my mind.

Troglo by Ismael Rodriguez 2023-10-05T01:31:27Z

13 deaths! Haha fantastic entry as usual Ismael. It was fun, the difficulty was handled well and parts that felt too difficult was made up for it by putting convenient save points. Felt like an arcade platformer. Was well put together. Great job, can't wait to see more like always.

Introvertigo by Scott Steffes 2023-10-07T06:01:03Z

What a game. This is absolutely insane. This kind of game can literally become a full one-of-a-kind genre of interaction. Extremely innovative, really well polished, really funny. My only negative criticism is that I can't do a specific person over again without doing the whole playthrough again. It's not a big deal especially since the game is so well done. Fantastic entry!

KosmoPod by Hakro 2023-10-08T22:10:12Z

The little whistle is very cute, the puzzles are nicely designed. I think there should be a lot more polish! Feedback when solving the level and maybe squish and stretch when moving or pulling would make the game so much more engaging!

Squeeze & Wiggle by YogurtTheHorse 2023-10-08T21:27:13Z

Wow what a great game! I loved the rainworld inspiration and the movement was so interesting. Only issue I had was crumbling myself into a ball when I tried moving the back end of the worm. But art and pixelated visuals was fantastically done. The ending was SO funny and unexpected. Nice little treat for the end. Great game!

Rafty Crab by kuviman 2023-10-08T02:31:45Z

This was genuinely a lot of fun. Was a great idea to have you submit it in streams because that's where the fun really shines especially with streamer commentary. Was also really cute. What sets this apart from other kind of battle royale games was the fact you can actually still do something despite being out of the game, makes the engagement constant and it was done very humorously. Very well done!

Though I Walk by AdamCYounis 2023-10-05T02:07:46Z

Holy moly dude you learned Godot recently and with what you had you made some big brained design ideas. This is totally going to make me binge watch your livestream on this now to know your thought process. What a great entry. Pixel art is cute and adorable but I love the religious vibe you put into the game. Wonderful.

Transilvaniawkward by Mastoast 2023-10-05T21:25:48Z

Very cute entry! Very creative way to use the theme and the emotes and everything just added to the game being adorable. Very well done and I definitely enjoyed it. Sometimes though the rule wasn't entirely clear however, and maybe would have warranted another level or two to fully grasp the understanding of the rule of that creature. Otherwise, excellent!

Captain Jove’s Treasure Trove by Spice Cabinet 2023-10-08T06:15:11Z

Very nice entry! Was not sure what the soda bottles were for or how to use it. Biggest issue is how I felt like cannon balls were always low on stock and wasn't able to go get more.

Other than that, the visuals and audio were great. I loved the style. A good ol pirates game always hits a sweet spot for me. Character design and world was really cool.

Good job!

Claustroshooter by José Bonilla 2023-10-08T07:35:50Z

Pretty awesome entry. Nicely polished. Simple design but has really interesting implication. The upgrading system was very impressive to add into as well as everything else. Good job!

Claustroshooter by José Bonilla 2023-10-09T04:47:40Z

Oh yeah I did, haha thanks for the engaging game haha!

Valhalla Odyssey by Scott Cooper 2023-10-08T05:47:20Z

The concept and aesthetic is a very cool interesting choice. I think the focus needed to be really heavily emphasized on polish though! Squish and stretch, effects, feedback, motions, things happening when things happen! I recommend watching Jonas Tyroller's video on making a button fun to press. Apply those concepts to this game, with feedback and impact like camera shake, squishing, particles, etc, you could make this game SUPER engaging!

Burn Beetle by Pious 2023-10-07T03:01:51Z

@pkb-games @lexyvil @flashlight13 @hinamarina @0x746564

I think I have found the issue with the loading time / sudden freezes on actions on html and fixed it! Thank you for letting us know!

Burn Beetle by Pious 2023-10-07T03:07:50Z

@donvermo - Thank you for playing! Appreciate the contrast tip, I think that highlights the importance of testing designed levels early as opposed to a quick little demo level

@gumibear - Randomized levels is a great idea! We were hoping to see if we could add randomness into multiple runs but the bramble spawn system ended up taking more time than we thought, definitely considering expanding!

@nirlandec - Haha that's pretty quick, thanks for playing!

@dining-philosopher - Thank you for playing! I think the performance issue is actually from the brambles getting out of hand, trying to see if I can optimize it somehow. And illuminating fire is such a good idea.

@greenpig - Thank you for playing! I hope the chrome crash wasn't too bad. Been trying to address html issues.

Burn Beetle by Pious 2023-10-07T03:12:23Z

@ismael-rodriguez - Thank you so much for playing! Randomness would've been fantastic to put into the game and it would fit so well.

@ruslana - Thank you for playing!

@dawnables - HTML loading should be fixed now! I appreciate your patience and playing our game, and I think it is entirely possible to get lost without stronger visual indicators of where you are.

@mistercarson - Thank you so much! I think what could've made the game interesting would be to introduce randomness. Wish I had time and knowledge to implement it, perhaps with some perlin noise?

@blazejmg917 - The bramble growth does seem to cause performance issues on html, trying to see if I can optimize and fix it. Either way, thank you for your patience and thanks for playing!

Burn Beetle by Pious 2023-10-08T21:07:33Z

@okshirl Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback!

The triangular pattern placement is actually really good advise. I remember reading something about that kind of point-of-interest design more so with open world 3d games but I never would think to use it for a little 2d explorer.

Finding individual members of your family is SUCH a cute idea. I think it'll definitely come in a post jam update and I may even ping you after LD ratings are over to see its implementation, I had already planned on implementing some sort of proc-gen, and there's an unused feature currently where you can play as big-bug/momma-bug with more health but a wider hitbox. Just never made the UI for enabling the option.

Thanks so much for playing and for your comment!

Burn Beetle by Pious 2023-10-08T21:08:15Z

@lincolnsalles Thank you for playing! Do you mind if I ask what made you feel dizzy exactly so I can incorporate it into the next jam? I'm sorry you had that experience!

Burn Beetle by Pious 2023-10-08T21:09:53Z

@hirnsalat @jarvenp I believe I found the issue that slowed the game down with bramble growth! It should be fixed and still work the same as before, but now it runs more smoothly on html!

Burn Beetle by Pious 2023-10-10T23:26:46Z

@hakro Oh that is extremely valuable feedback! Thank you for letting us know, definitely going to try to incorporate that into our post-jam update and future jams!

Knight vs Crabs by ChoboChun 2023-10-08T06:27:25Z

Nice visuals, good feedback and polish. There were times when it felt very unfair. Other than that, the powerups were fun and it was very engaging.

Great entry!

Safe Space Passage by Kepsert 2023-10-08T02:55:38Z

Was pretty innovative! Graphics are clean and the idea is great. Lots of interesting puzzles. Only thing is that the platforming is difficult and feels a bit unforgiving / unfair. But overall really well done and this was a fantastic idea. Good entry!

Pixel Piles by Gabriel Chan 2023-10-08T06:35:03Z

This was really cute. I loved the way this little cat character jumps. Really innovative! It took a while for me to find out the side bumpers changed the rotation of the blocks. The art is so nice and the audio is good. Overall an extremely strong entry. Well done!

Firewall by Mascoll 2023-10-08T04:33:43Z

Pretty innovative! Definitely felt like I could be playing an old NES game. The pixel art is very cute and I'm impressed with the limitations you adhered to. Good entry!

Bit Golf by badcop 2023-10-08T02:28:22Z

What a really cool idea. I really liked how this was educational and interesting. Something to help the difficulty curve could have been what color was reducing how many bytes or something like that, some reductions are not intuitive so I felt like I spent a lot of time doing trial and error. Was super clean and well done as well as extremely creative. Excellent entry!

Bar by CleverDog 2023-10-08T05:05:34Z

ice cube grape and lemon perhaps yes

LazerPhaser by EvilMurlock 2023-10-08T21:59:43Z

Music works well with the gameplay. But I felt like the level design was a bit too unforgiving. The mirrors would be destroyed if not oriented properly and sometimes you could only orient a mirror by facing where you would like to rotate it towards. I would recommend making the game a bit more forgiving by disabling the destruction of the mirror unless you want to destroy it by pressing the same button on that tile and also making the laser shot (along with the beat of the music) delayed by a little bit. That way the player won't feel frustrated if he solves a puzzle in his head but can't get the execution because of the way a mirror spawns and gets destroyed or the fact you just can't move out of the way of a laser.

Apocalypse Mall by Don Juan Javier 2023-10-08T04:28:30Z

Really cool to see an RTS style game. Pixel art was pretty cute, but many of the mechanics were a little bit wonky. The exact collisions were not too clear, like with zombies, I suggest using "soft" collisions instead! Also the barricade system was a bit too easy, as I could set down a bunch of barricades at once and camp out there, I suggest letting it so that only one survivor make a barricade at a time so it's not all overlapping!

Other than that, a great take on the theme and has a ton of potential, I could see it being even more interesting to manage multiple survivors that have different roles or stats!

Mousey Rise by YakovDavis 2023-10-05T03:03:27Z

Idea is very interesting, art is really good. The difficulty curve is high and it's a bit unclear exactly what the objective is. The character controller is definitely very robust and there's a ton of potential!

Packed to the Gills by npckc 2023-10-07T06:05:43Z

This was an insanely cute entry. What a simple game yet packed with lots of fun. Good progression and nice little bits of candy for the player: the haikus, the end credits, the cute little names. A bunch of good stuff. Very impressed this was done in renpy as well, not because it seems complex but because it's very innovative for the kind of games I ususally see in renpy!

Postcards by oter 2023-10-08T04:57:54Z

This was pretty sweet. I liked the ending, it was also a very interesting and interactive way to do a little story with some personality. I enjoyed the story. It was hard to pick up at first since I'm binging LD games and not necessarily prepping my mind to read, but I decided to bear through it and I'm glad I did.

Good entry!

Waltz Royale by James Laird 2023-10-08T06:22:00Z

Very innovative! I like the idea a lot, but I think having some 2.5d sprite placeholders with some squish and stretch could've made the game a lot more engaging. Some particles and sparkles and cheers and other polish would've made this game shine a bunch, I see a lot of potential. Nicely done!

InvenStory by pro4 2023-10-08T07:12:48Z

Wow this was an extremely complete jam game. The team did excellent. Everything was perfectly well executed down to the transitions!

Amazing entry!

Crime Critters (Rob the British Museum) by Pen Island Games 2023-10-10T04:52:48Z

What an adorable and smart game. The concept is fantastic and this seems really fun. Keeping this in mind when I go to my fiancee's place cause this seems fun to play with someone else. Unfortunately the web build's viewport is way too large for my laptop screen which really hindered how I can play. I don't feel like I'm able to get the full experience however because I am playing alone at the moment.

Scorched Asteroids! by svkj 2023-10-08T04:15:55Z

Really nice entry! It's pretty creative take as a worms-like with gravity bending bullets. I like the idea and I think it has a TON of potential as a full game if it gets polished out more. Exact wasd movement controls need a little work I think, but other than that, it was fun for what it is! Good game!

Scorched Asteroids! by svkj 2023-10-08T05:04:40Z

That is true. I think the problem is that I'm not sure which button is for which direction. Perhaps the solution are two different routes: Have a toggle or setting of sorts that uses WASD/Arrows for relative direction (if it moves you to the right of the tank no matter the orientation), global direction (no matter what pressing A is going to move you left), etc. OR have little helper UI's showing what button moves in which direction.

Alternatively, you could change the movement entirely. Instead of tanks, perhaps a self launching kind of thing like angry birds? I think a neat way to go about it is to move by launching, let gravity take you around, then after the move phase, it goes into your shoot/action phase, then ends your turn if you didn't win.

I think experimenting would be good!

Rodent Rolling Rampage by Kilominior 2023-10-08T03:28:25Z

Was very interesting, and it was definitely cute! It's a great concept and I think it has a lot of potential if there were puzzles related to knocking things over to smash your ball!

Mini Architect by Mr Bluecap 2023-10-08T05:15:57Z

Very originally and very impressed with the fact something like this was coded. Has a lot of potential but to be honest, it was a bit confusing or felt a bit unfair. I understand it probably couldn't fit into the jam but a few precoded guided levels baked in to start would have been easier for the player to understand. Other than that, I love the fact the little characters change, the different personality and room choices, and the nicely done UI and usability of the actual features.

Great entry!

Mini Architect by Mr Bluecap 2023-10-08T05:33:24Z

Also I recognize some of these from kenney assets. If you're not using your own assets, please opt out of the category that is not of your own creation! I don't know if the UI and other features are your own assets either

Expedition 32 by onionlabs 2023-10-07T05:27:33Z

Art and music really sold the mood! Definitely felt a sense of fear, and on top of that it looked good. Really interesting mechanic and done well, incorporated not only an interesting mechanic but also puzzle elements to it too. A lot of potential is here. Well done entry!

Puzzle People by Wizzy-chan 2023-10-08T04:46:08Z

Not bad! It's pretty clever and I have to praise your puzzle making designs, wished I could see more puzzles. My bits of advise is to put in more feedback particularly on player actions. Like switching the character should be more than the slight idle animation difference, as it's quite confusing. Try squish and stretch or some kind of little arrow indicator, or a color change? Anything really! Polish would make it so much more engaging, but either way it's a lovely idea. Good entry!

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Beetle Era by icxon 2024-10-09T20:16:16Z

Honestly this is a pretty strong entry with the mechanics and use of stat building and everything. Thoroughly enjoyed the game, couldn't get past the double base part though, felt pretty hard but I'm not a usual RTS player. This was pretty well designed as a unit builder. Saw another game with a similar concept but very different aesthetic and theme and genre. Pretty well done!

Autumn Picnic by Gao Ming 2024-10-09T21:14:25Z

Phenomenal entry! Loved the mm cumbchy sounds and the fact it starts off a bit cozy and calm and peaceful (while secretly teaching me how to play) to then becoming kinda like a puzzler on how to proceed and grow so you can avoid the fly traps was actually brilliant. Loved the small color changes on the body segments on things you eat. A masterful combination of art, design, sounds, and gameplay. This one is a winner. Only criticism is that I wanted more. But it ended beautifully with unexpectedly eating the whole stump haha.

Great job!!!

Cosmic Critter Chess by tomrijnbeek 2024-10-09T22:42:58Z

Very nicely done game! Liked the chess but with a twist and abilities kind of angle. Would've loved more and maybe some kind of free play mode. Definitely an expandable game. Great job!

Tara by sbeif 2024-10-09T02:45:34Z

Extremely cute game, I loved the idea of kicking to stun, level design was brilliant, I've seen games like this before but never with this degree of design. Amazing and reminds me of 4 swords. Great job!!

My Keyboard is Full of Ants! by Jeremy Ryan 2024-10-15T22:55:40Z

Wow. Another very impressive submission! I loved the way each different type of ant made you really have to think. The upgrades for scores was really interesting and to top off the great ant gameplay along with upgrades, it has a hilarious little story using the words that was typed.

I've always liked your submissions since 11th Hour, and I have to say you continue to impress me and I continue to pretty much look up to you and your work. It's always fun seeing what you have in store for a jam and reading your follow up posts. Excellent job!

[P.S. Thanks for the inadvertent shout-out of our game Wink and the Fae with your gif showcasing your game haha]

Play With Me by gord10ahmet 2024-10-09T20:40:49Z

Wow, honestly did NOT expect a tomagotchi + DDLC combo this jam. Very well done, nailed the vibe and mood you wanted. Wish there was more, felt like there could've been a whole story. But you told it well in such a small amount of time. Good job!

Cheeese Watch by Yorsh 2024-10-09T01:52:59Z

What a lovely game! Gave me an aha moment once I figured out that I flick mice onto other things like the lil porcupine. Simple to understand, but so satisfying to try with all the combos and the score and everything, such a charming game that I have nearly no criticism for. Just promote your game more so people can play this great lil game!

Blood Crux by Dmitry Kaidash 2024-10-09T21:47:16Z

Pretty strong entry! What a wonderful little game loop, it was incredibly satisfying to kill enemies and then seamlessly turn into bats to kill a horde and then turn back for more beat downs. Pretty incredible feat of programming for the visuals but definitely would've benefitted from a boss or two at some point, or something immune to the bats. Could've kept going endlessly. Other than that it was a real solid entry and the name on the grave was a cherry on top.

Fantastic job!

PATCHONOMICON by pepnou 2024-10-09T20:53:58Z

Pretty funny little game. No pressure to get it right but was kinda intellectually interesting to see how much I could fit. I wish the feedback / results were a bit more immediate like maybe a little bar that shows fill score and color score to see where I'm going when I place something and see if it's getting better or worse. Other than that, the creepy little ending was actually pretty funny, didn't expect this combo haha.

Good job!

Tiny Adventure by Becher 2024-10-09T21:28:32Z

Honestly loved this little entry. Pretty funny take and I thought the visuals were well done even for being tiny. Wish there was more. A boss or something even if it was simple would've been a great way to end it. I thought it was funny you can still talk to people and I just felt compelled to despite not being able to read it. Well done presentation.

Good job!

G-news by Aune 2024-10-09T21:06:19Z

WOW, this was a real winner of an entry right here. The music was *phenomonal* and loved keeping up the propaganda up to the clarinet. The art was so charming and sweet. Wish there was a bit more feedback when it came to whether I had to hold or just click (I rushed through the tutorial a bit so I ended up punching the wires to repair it and thought it was kinda funny actually). Hilarious take on the theme, great music and vocals, liked the combo of high paced FFNAF gameplay but lighthearted and fun with a papers please storyline that takes itself lightly with a running joke.

GREAT entry and I applaud you all.

ONE MILLION MICROSCOPIC KITTENS by Milestone Games 2024-10-09T22:57:33Z

Haha this was a pretty funny little game. Never have I been more terrified of a roomba before. Wish it was a little shorter since the loop was repetitive but otherwise a fun little 3d platformer. Loved the catscan pun!

You Can Save The Rat by poboy 2024-10-08T23:37:58Z

What a funny game! Loved the sudden change of mood with the death scenes. Loved the little sounds and the small story done here. Definitely did not expect a couple of these things. Couple of aha moments were really good. Overall a great game!

Antibody by Alopar 2024-10-08T22:43:26Z

Really cool idea! I liked the idea of using other "tiny creatures" (literal cells that are bigger than you, another smol cell) to attack others. Wave feature makes it manageable and I liked the risk and reward of shooting the wrong thing leads to a cycle so that you can't really effectively spam it. It was pretty good, I felt like it got a bit overwhelming with creatures at some point and I didn't have more eaters to fight off the other guys. A tutorial or some intro could've been nice.

Other than that, very nice!

PEPE's wall of pride by Wouter52 2024-10-08T23:15:41Z

Funny idea, and the controls were interesting to make it that you had to do a rocket ship. Unfortunately I have to say that in aggregate, it ended up not being that fun for me. The voice acting made it funny and felt like it could've been more fun, but the resolution size made it very difficult for me to see the screen, then the graphics made it hard for me to tell how fast I was moving and going.

The good thing is that the the mini map and goal indicators was a great and necessary touch. I applaud you for that!

PEPE's wall of pride by Wouter52 2024-10-09T18:23:52Z

@wouter52 I recommend stars that parallax in the background to get a better sense of how fast the ship goes! Parallax goes a long way. Maybe also a squish and stretch that oscillates more with faster velocity

Tiny Rexes: Professional Dinosorting by BenjaTK 2024-10-09T01:45:18Z

This was a GREAT submission. Was excited to play it before since I've seen your stuff on the game endeavor discord, and you definitely did not dissapoint. A unique and innovative game that really hit me hard with an "AHA" moment once I was making an orange dino follow my yellow circle, finding out the key of the mechanic and where the challenge lies. The polish was great, the loop is good and the progression works well. I loved the small QoL improvements like the speed up and pause to make replays easier to go through.

Amazing entry, feels like a winner honestly!

Another Day by Monnettie 2024-10-09T03:48:32Z

Very cute and charming game. I love the little pixel art characters and seeing what everyone has to say. I liked the lil breaks of monotenity (if that's a word) with the small unexpected happenings and the funny moments related to the job. This is a cute entry and I'm happy to have played it :)

Wink and the Fae by Pious 2024-10-08T19:41:18Z

@chartle @imberny @okshirl @demiclod @jdeedubs Figured out resolution problems! Thank you so much for your feedback. It took some tinkering with itch's settings but we figured it out thankfully. You should be able to enjoy Sofi's art in full screen and see the fae you saved in all their glory.

Please take a look and see if it's to your liking!

Wink and the Fae by Pious 2024-10-08T19:46:36Z

@prussichger @rodgems Thank you for your feedback! We misadjusted the timer clock's initial settings that made it too short to fully appreciate the (poorly coded and rudimentary) difficulty scaling. It is like 20% likely to *start* seeing the second enemy when people had their 20th fae saved, which was the last few seconds with the misadjusted clock, and it was impossible to see how the game scales like what we intended. Fixing the clock's values made it so you can appreciate what we had in place.

Please try it now!

Wink and the Fae by Pious 2024-10-08T19:48:08Z

@okshirl That is such a phenomenal idea. Would've massively increased the game loop and incentivized making a big conga for as long as possible. It might make it into the post-jam version, we plan to expand since this may be our proudest one yet!

Wink and the Fae by Pious 2024-10-09T22:11:35Z

@jnur Oh that is so strange, does that happen on other browsers? I tested on a Macbook before and it didn't give me that. Thank you for your feedback!

Wink and the Fae by Pious 2024-10-10T01:43:15Z

@tsaot Thank you for pointing that out! Will fix that!!

Tiny Colony by MrEliptik 2024-10-09T01:34:04Z

This was a phenomenal submission! The audio was honestly the bow that wrapped the gift. This was a well designed game, the levels and the mechanics and the funny twist at the end where turns out I could've destroyed the bases to consider it colonized.

The only thing was the small glitches with the slingshots and I'm not entirely sure what the purposes of the objects were, seems like planned content. Either way, this was a strong submissions.

(P.S. definitely had a lot of use out of your game juice videos).

Fallen Angel: A Larry Chin Mystery by Tobius 2024-10-09T03:02:35Z

Interesting story! I did get stuck though. No idea how to proceed after collecting the brace and can of sardines and stuff. It's not the clearest how to navigate around. Appears pretty ambitious for a jam!

Tiny Checkers by thyoi 2024-10-15T23:54:19Z

WOW, what a great game, I can't believe you packed so much into one weekend. It's very well polished, well structured, so much content. Lots of pieces and levels with lots of little bits of polish on the board, I mean having a whole board game is already crazy. It was really good!

How did you manage to do so much? It's super well done! Good job!!

Ludum Dare 56 by Mantsje 2024-10-09T19:26:48Z

Very cool idea! Kinder Guardin is a clever name and felt very chaotic haha. Was pretty funny and tutorial was definitely needed. I wish there was a bit more polish to the actions but also less actions to do or worry about. Was pretty cool and was a very funny idea.

Good job!

I'm Next! by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2024-10-09T03:08:11Z

Fun little game. Liked the little voices. Neat idea to have different powers for different characters. Neat puzzles and was left kinda wanting more haha. Would definitely add more polish, polish is so important! Game juice and squish and stretch goes a long way!

I'm Next! by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2024-10-09T03:24:43Z

@beeb-gamecodecompany Search up "Juice it or Lose it," game feel and feedback. Games react to input all the time. Take a look at my game and notice how the only animation for the little guys is that they bounce a little when idling. For your game, I can see them moving by just squishing and stretching a little bit in their animation. I can see it looking really good for the vine to just bounce out when it spawns by stretching and then resting. The explosion expands and then rests in a bouncy way. Etc. It makes it look professional with little effort. Just a little bounce.

Really ambitious to design a MULTIPLAYER game that's team based, well done and seems both funny and also well designed as a viable sport like game with interesting rules. Great take on a theme!

Good job!

Small Problems To Grapple With by Tetracold 2024-10-10T00:32:01Z

Loved your take on a paper aesthetic! We also had a paper-like artstyle for a game made in Godot. But it was definitely different (check it out haha). Would love to ask about how you did the physics for a grappler since I liked how it played and I had trouble making my own grappler.

On the game itself: Loved the art style and the loop, it was a bit confusing to figure out exactly what kills the bugs, could've had more feedback/juice on that. But really enjoyed grappling around and I enjoyed the protagonist very much!

Good job!

The Witch's Offspring by little-crow-heart 2024-10-09T02:17:26Z

Very touching little story. Wish there was move, was invested. If you enjoy doing sketches and art, I highly recommend leaning into your strength and making the whole thing a 2d raster art game rather than just pixel art.

Otherwise, congrats on your second solo jam!

Drinlan Madness by Drinlan 2024-10-09T02:00:16Z

This was a fun beat-em-up! I enjoyed the variety of moves and the interesting theme of being able to only kill with the color you have. It did feel pretty punishing to fight all of them with the same moveset, but you massively made up for it with the checkpoint against the boss, and it was impressive you had a boss!

Pretty well done!

Stacoon by Wesel 2024-10-08T22:57:26Z

Congratulations on your first game! Love the basic idea you got going, the puzzles and progression was done well.

Some tips: - Pixel art should be cohesive! Pay attention to resolution sizes and the size of pixel art, differences in size can look a little jarring. Your racoon designs are super cute and the little launch animation was pretty funny, but it being different pixel size than the background and other objects are a little off. - Limit yourselves! You have a lot of little mechanics that was not necessary. I loved the repeat use of the pipes, underground, and launch. I thought the moving platform bridge might've been a bit much.

Other than that, nice game!

Stacoon by Wesel 2024-10-09T01:36:13Z

@wesel Oh that'll definitely happen. It's no big deal, still much better than my first jam submission years ago. And definitely any background is better than none! That was definitely a 1+ up than my own first submission!

Candyween by Megurt 2024-10-09T20:33:13Z

Very cute and cozy little game! Understanding the mechanics was nice once I figured out what to do and there was a generous amount of time. Pixel art was adorable. Wish there was more.

Good job!

Gettin' Squirrely! by Cliff Coffee 2024-10-09T02:25:56Z

So the climbing mechanic is pretty great, that's definitely a feat to do. But unfortunately it was hard to read the text which spent time, and then handling it to grab nuts from the trees was a bit difficult. I wish the hitboxes for the nuts were bigger and there was more contrast to see the nuts better. I love the idea but the execution needs a bit of work and polish for sure. Polish is so important!

Little Chef by DERRIXX 2024-10-09T22:25:29Z

Very cool little game. One of the neatest ideas and honestly wonderful inspiration to take. However for some reason I wasn't able to cut very much after a little bit. Wondering if it's a bug or if I'm doing something wrong. Nevertheless, scrolled through a bunch of little characters and thought the designs were funny. Nice job!

Tiny Fallk by Anekich 2024-10-09T21:21:41Z

What an unbelievably cute game. LOVED the pixel art and the animation of the little guys. The ending building was incredibly adorable and the little story told was also super cute.

Don't really have any criticism for something like this, maybe the physics were a bit wonky sometimes but other than that it was really well done and I loved it.

Great job!

Happy Birthday Logan by imberny 2024-10-09T19:17:29Z

Visuals and mood were definitely on point. I liked the small little story you had going on. Quite a bit of emotions going on. I wish there was a better indicator of what to do at the end, had to go to the comments to figure out I need to literally sit in a spot. Guitar player was impressively intricate.

Great entry!

Koi by A Priori 2024-10-10T01:24:59Z

Wow, what a fun little game. Enjoyed the procedural animation (I love how I know exactly what method you used) and the boids combined into a fun flow game of basically boids snake. Fantastic idea and I loved the changing color.

I think I did pretty decently right?

@uniowl I'm using firefox! What browser is recommended?

Stolen Colors by The Spinning Sofa 2024-10-09T01:11:56Z

Managed to play on Chromium!

I liked the game! It was a pretty interesting idea, pretty innovative to do a speed army builder to not only focus on troops but also their stats, so you have to think quick and act fast but also with purpose! I liked it and loved the designs, the colors and use of it was also pretty phenomenal.

The audio felt a little out of place but I understand it works in a pinch! I felt like there should've been a tutorial or at least some sort of entry level thing to tell you these are spawners, these change stats, etc. I was lost when I first tried it, and then saw what you were doing in the gifs and read it and it made sense, so that was good.

One of the stronger entries I've seen in the jam thus far, so great work! Congrats!

Beyond Fear by Arsmih24 2024-10-09T22:08:23Z

Very impressive art and mood! I think it's an interesting take that reminds me of limbo, felt like you could've leaned into that a bit more and instead of populating the level with more of the same insects and stuff, loosen up the controls to be more forgiving with bigger jumps and make it kinda like a precision platformer than a single sidescroller. Also a check point right before the boat or something would've greatly increased the replayability of attempts.

Good job!

Turtle Shepard by Tsaot 2024-10-09T03:17:59Z

Very interesting take! I think it's cute that the birds were by your kids. Got very sad when I first stepped on a small turtle.

Tiny, Young, Dumb by oldzombie14 2024-10-09T18:58:55Z

Was pretty cute to see the little people. Not sure if there is an end game or if there's a goal, perhaps make it more clear? If there is no goal then maybe make that clear too? Music is pretty fun
