Good idea! It's good, but I can't see the circle when I play (maybe I didn't even avoid the stone?)

pvg 2021-04-27 17:12

I love it! I appreciate the little bit of unknown... you never know where those rocks and bombs will show up. My only criticism is that I couldn't really read my score at the end because of the brown-on-brown colors. But I'm sure it was an *amazing* score.

nice idea !

jelch 2021-04-27 19:40

Neat!

good mood

Clever idea, I really enjoy erosing the ground.

The water effect is beautiful and the physics works well. At the beginning, the game is too slow but after 100 metters the speed increase too fast. You should add more steps. More bonus (like the dynamite) should be fun.

Overall, very fun game !

PS : I reached 155 meters.

too-lazy-cat 2021-04-27 19:48

Good one. Fun game and a great idea. Implementation was good too. All around good work!

rongefilet 2021-04-27 19:49

I was quite intrigued by the concept, it's very original, but I felt like the layout of the level had more influence on the progression than my positioning of the spout. An idea to dig! (aha kill me please)

awerar 2021-04-27 19:52

The graphics are beautiful, and I like the fact that you can click to spray water around you. I did feel the gameplay was lacking a little bit, but adding some more things in the ground or other mechanics would make this game really great. Nice job!

vitor-milioni 2021-04-27 19:52

Lovely idea, it works really well, the physics are very nice, the visuals match it very well too, liked the simple soundtrack a lot,and it's very fun even if not challenging to watch the earth eroding around the water, has a very good feel to it. I would like to add though that pressing the mouse button feels bad, it's much cooler and faster to just not press it at all most of the times, perhaps make it stronger but have a bigger cooldown? Either way, a very good game, great job!

fireslash 2021-04-27 19:54

Neat idea!

I got to around depth 185 before it seemed I was moving faster than I could dig, I'm guessing 200 is around the theoretical max without getting lucky with bombs.

Could use a bit more variety, it might be neat to have powerups to deal with tricky rock formations, or other things to aim for instead of just optimizing for depth alone.

smubear 2021-04-27 19:56

I never would have thought to use erosion as a mechanic. I'm not even sure how you pulled it off, but the water and eroding mechanics worked pretty nice! The only issue i had was that sometimes my water spout would get stuck on sides and carried away, but usually using the click-water-burst thing seemed to fix it. I don't know if theres any place to expand with this game from here, but I gotta say its a very interesting concept. Nice game! :droplet:

anactualhuman 2021-04-27 20:00

Good, the physics are kinda janky and the music is a bit repetitive but everything else seems good.

lelek-hunor-kadosa 2021-04-27 20:01

213 meters! :D The idea was fun and the implementation was greate. I was surprised how cool you made the physics. Nice job. However I felt like my action have a little impact on the outcome.

joedev 2021-04-27 20:01

Reached about 200 meters, such a fun unique little game. I love the physics/erosion visuals, it looks so smooooooth and is very impressive functionality for a jam! Part of me questioned how water was setting off dynamite, but then I don't care because its fun

tubular 2021-04-27 20:12

Quite the innovative idea for gameplay. It doesn't feel like the player has any agency over where their water goes once you get to depth 50-100, because there's no reliable way to dig sideways unless you find a pocket of air or get a big bedrock beneath you. But the fundamental idea is very interesting!

profan 2021-04-27 20:29

Reached depth 214! The blobby water is lovely and the overall palette is just :ok_hand:

Does feel like you're kind of doomed once you reach 200+ though :D

energizedblast 2021-04-27 20:41

After noticing it in a couple comments, I decided to investigate the speed increase comment for after depth 100 and realized I accidentally put "1." instead of ".1", as the depth was intended to only increase 10% per 100 levels instead of a massive *100%*. Apologies for that everyone, the WebGL version should no longer have this error.

Thanks so much for the feedback everybody!

energizedblast 2021-04-27 21:04

@tubular Thank you for your feedback, I think the lack of horizontal digging capability is a very valid point. Do you feel there would be a good way to give the player control in that regard?

tubular 2021-04-27 21:55

@energizedblast I don't know, it needs some brainstorming and testing. The easy way out would be to make more air pockets that let you have more chances to make meaningful choices. Something a little more spicy might be to give the spout some directionality---maybe you hold left click and then drag left or right to aim the water a bit.

pious 2021-04-28 00:14

Really good concept and idea, my only issue is that once I picked a spot to go down in, I couldn't figure out how to control more the direction I wanted to drill in. I wasn't sure what the burst of water was for. But it is a charming little game, but felt slow. Perhaps the speed of descent and the drill power were increased so it feels more fast paced?

sofimei 2021-04-28 15:24

A very chill and simple game! i liked the music and sfx, as well as trying to strategize around obstacles.

msipp27 2021-04-29 00:31

exteremly easy to glitch yourself into rocks

cody-miner 2021-04-30 23:26

It's a very fun and unique concept. It seems like map generation has a big impact on how far you get though. When I got my high score, it felt like I just got a good map rather than I accomplished something.

bereg 2021-05-02 18:21

That's fresh. Never seen anything like this before, and this is an achievement in the modern world of games. The game needs polishing, but as a prototype, it already works and gives a new experience to a player. Well done

maaxoom 2021-05-03 10:51

I really like the physics-based approach! :sweat_drops: :sweat_drops:
