I enjoyed the beginning. I don't really have time to really dig into it sorry :(

Interesting little story game. I played through it twice trying to see if there was any secret paths or different things I could do. I didn't find anything. I like how it did just repeat though. I liked the graphics a lot and how the line colors changed. The dream world was cool.

The dream felt really profound to me. Being a kid was so carefree... Nice little game

This a cute game. I love the story and message. My only complaint is the placement of the doors, because I accidentally skipped the first day spamming the up button. Other than that, this is a great game! Good Job!

This is such a vibe! I honestly really love the atmosphere and the art of this game! It's simple but you feel love was put into it. The music is soothing and every character feel like they have a story to tell. It's really motivational and it's like telling me to take my time, live day by day and to see the little happy things around me and take good decisions. Solid game!!

the mood is on point and reminds me of the good ol days. thank you for this cute little piece. *the switch to and back from dream world is so effective, love!!

short, sweet and relaxing. love the message too. really hard to make story-focused game in jams, but you nailed it!

braeden 2024-10-09 03:36

You knocked this out of the park Loved the repetitive aspect of it, really drove the message home

Very cute and charming game. I love the little pixel art characters and seeing what everyone has to say. I liked the lil breaks of monotenity (if that's a word) with the small unexpected happenings and the funny moments related to the job. This is a cute entry and I'm happy to have played it :)

Impressed to see a more narrative-focused game in a jam! The 2-bit visuals fit the vibe well, and the occasional palette swaps served the story well. This has a nice atmosphere and is a cute entry!

It seems to tell a story of an office worker gradually finding himself and becoming positive, with excellent music and artwork. The problem lies in the lack of innovation in gameplay; it merely narrates the story, but the story doesn't tie in well with the theme, making the game 'not supposed to be here' (fitswith the second-place theme in the voting).

I love this bitsy engine! I've come across it in other interactive fictions and I still think it's great. I found that while the story was well told (with progression), I felt it lacked a bit of playfulness to really feel the “game” side of the creation. Nevertheless, congratulations on this achievement, and long live bitsy!

Cute game with a nice message that's well communicated through the story and visuals. All the little character designs are great, very nice work, love the vibe.

Mostly going to be echoing what other people said - graphics are brilliantly simple and well executed, the writing is emotive and personal and lovely, the mood is so well set!

My only gripe is that I wished that after exhausting someone's dialog, instead of repeating it just didn't pop up anymore, as I basically always had to loop back to the start of a dialog to make sure I didn't miss anything. Perhaps that's intentional to drive home how repetitive daily conversations can be, and to avoid the player missing anything.

What a lovely game! One of my favourites so far. It just *works*, you know?

I love the mood and atmosphere of this game, the color palette, the pixel sprites and music are all full of personality! One of my favourites!

Thank you all for the comments and the votes! We're really glad to see that people liked the story and atmosphere of this game.

monnettie and I have jammed a few times before, but we don't have a lot of Ludum Dare experience. This is actually my first Ludum Dare jam (monnettie participated in 49). So we were surprised by our placement in the mood category, especially since neither of us are aspiring game devs (we just wanted to have a good time).

Hope everyone had fun making and playing games!
