Hooooly shit. I was eagerly anticipating this (loved seeing the blog posts on the feed!) and it sure did not disappoint!
Graphics, gameplay, music. On point!
Loved seeing the different ways the ~~gnomes~~ would try to disrupt the show. Cable muncher sure is my nemesis!

~~GNOMES GNOMES GNOMES GNOMES GNOMES GNOMES~~
Yes! I was so intrigued by the teasers and was not disappointed. Absolutely hilarious and the soundtrack slaps! I wish I could have read what the newscaster said but was too busy punching gnomes. Otherwise absolutely flawless.

It was very fun! the art, the music, the humor! I have not seen a single gnome, as they do not exist.

@edali *The Ministry Of Truth* approve your message and would like to remind all citizens that ~~*gnomes*~~ are a pure product of fiction.

Simple game, nice polish. That's what we all want to see in a game jam! Good job guys!
After really enjoying your marketing campaign during the weekend, how could I not check this one out?! I'm very glad I did, a very amusing entry with a great soundtrack and visuals. The gameplay was decent, but perhaps it would have benefited somewhat from better feedback on whether or not you had successfully smacked a gnome (maybe a slight screenshake, or some sort of visual effect?) However for a game made in just three days this is a really good game.
Perfect visuals and simple idea (not extremely innovative but sometimes we are here and not for that)
Also, wonder who were those creatures who were always messing around to stop us from saying truth about fictional characters
P.S. as nitpick - music was not looped perfectly :D
Amazing work! Love the art style, and love the fact you're recording the music yourself to add extra authenticity. The music was fantastic and the art reminiscent of the old point-and-click adventures like Sam & Max - really enjoyed the character design and animation.
Great stuff! Top marks!
Excellent!! The music and the gameplay are sooo addictive! Your graphics fit perfectly the narrative and the humor. Congratulations, wonderful game! (and of course, gnomes don't exist).

Amazing work! The music is so good, kept game over screen open for a good while because of it :D
The idea and the game in general are very fun ! I simply love the music. It becomes addictive so fast, good job all !
This is great, I love all the poses that gnomes would take to infiltrate your studio (in case they would have existed). Gnomes would be hilarious if they would exist. But even though gnomes do not exist, visuals are great.
Did you really record that music just for the jamp with live woodwinds? :0 (also some sfx for punches and gnomes (if they existed) would make audio just perfect...)

Thanks for your comment @kiberptah
tromb.png Yes, the genius **Rattell** (linked in credit) first prototyped on guitar, then wrote all the parts in his software before recording the borrowed trombone in 30 minutes (even though he said he didn’t know how to play it). He also asked his friends for the clarinet and trumpet. Having him on our team really motivated us.
We almost cried when we heard the rap (you can hear it easly by losing in the game)
For sfx, there are punches sfx but bus compression doesn't work on web export so you have to lower music volume with settings to hear it :unamused:
Finally winning sample come from this [Sweden government message](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwXewk32-bk) Thanks to @hengen
Simple and well polished. One criticism is that gnomes do exist and I've seen them.
Gnomes? What are they?
I absolutely loved the clarinet and the fact it got faster, it was a bit of a bop!
The artwork's really nice as well for some reason it reminds me of some 2D games on the Nintendo DS in the mid 2000's and then some of the point and click adventure games I played as a kid in the 90's, really nice!
Good job!
WHAT IS THIS?? :D Amazing!! Good job, you win everything, this is the best game I've seen here  I especially loved the soundtrack, and I had to give your composer a follow on SoundCloud

Cool game idea! I liked it! Good job!
I think this game has the best soundtrack I've heard in all the games I've played here at LDjam. It's truly original. I even went on Soundcloud to check out more of this guy's work because it really is very good.

Such a funny idea, and very well executed - amazing job!
Omgg the game is so fun, ~GNOMES everywhere~ I mean very interesting tv show. And the music is sooo good, I can't stop playing because of it, is there a way to download it ? :eyes: Very polished, very easy to learn, a wonderful entry for this session. You folks are talented!

Thanks everyone for the kind words and the useful feedback, especially on SFX/VFX (that were sadly munched by the web export...). What was your feeling about the difficulty ? Was it too easy or hard ?
@telo-philippe yes you can ! You can find the full track on our composer SoundCloud : https://m.soundcloud.com/rattell/bregnomic-from-ludum-dare
Wow the art style is so impressive! Definitely going to try out!
优秀的美术和音乐!!
I applaud standing up, the game is great, for people it's just a bomb, if you still cook it and get it / change the gameplay, then I'm sure they will buy it a lot
What don't exist? Never heard of them
great and interesting work with cool artstyle!
Great art style, fun gameplay, enjoyable music and the right amount of mayhem to make it chaotic fun... if only there were some gnomes.
Amazing music. I love the mystery setup, who is this Mr.X?

Really love the music ! It's super catchy and also super funny ! Only downside is that at some point it loops back to the beginning while the game isn't over yet, it slowed a bit the pace of the game where the **censored** were being more and more agressive. Otherwise the game is fun, lot of humor, polished design, and while the gameplay is not the most interesting part of the game the overall makes a great solid entry !
the gnomes are real, i saw them with my own eyes
**🛈 Readers added context they thought people might want to know**
According to The Ministry Of Truth, there have been 0 recorded gnome sightings to date. They are not real.
LOVED this game, fantastic art and music! Thank you for putting it on SoundCloud too! This one's gonna be up there in the rankings for sure

This is FANTASTIC. Not only did the music and the art create the perfect mood, the game play was also well designed. I felt like all the tasks I had to manage were well balanced and just challenging enough.
Seriously, that song is so catchy. And I think my favorite ~~gnome~~ was the paragliding, bare-bootied one XD

WOW, this was a real winner of an entry right here. The music was *phenomonal* and loved keeping up the propaganda up to the clarinet. The art was so charming and sweet. Wish there was a bit more feedback when it came to whether I had to hold or just click (I rushed through the tutorial a bit so I ended up punching the wires to repair it and thought it was kinda funny actually). Hilarious take on the theme, great music and vocals, liked the combo of high paced FFNAF gameplay but lighthearted and fun with a papers please storyline that takes itself lightly with a running joke.
GREAT entry and I applaud you all.

Okay THIS was awesome! The concept is clever, art is great, the music is a bop, the gameplay is intense and really keeps you on your toes, and the music only adds to the intensity! My only compliant is that the screen is kinda hard to manage on itch. I get that adds to the challenge, but I sometimes found myself accidently clicking random buttons towards the side of the screen. But other than that this was fantastic!
Stunning visuals and I have to imagine the musicians had so much fun making this! :D I had over a million viewers by the end.
I have to question the relevance to the theme, though. Tiny creatures is the themes, but I didn't see any! Especially not gnomes! ;)
Fun game. Its the small things like skipable dialogue you come to appriate on a game you keep coming back to.

Thanks everyone for the kind words & feedbacks !
Congrats @langotriel, I think you are the first one here to realize that we implemented a scoring system. Feel like wasted time we should have invested in more feedbacks (always **moaar** feedbacks...) instead, *woopsie*
Sadly I'm not at the liberty to comment on your argument about tiny ~~gno~~creatures... 😶
@demiclod you can play Fullscreen to solve this issue. Did you notice that there was a tiny button to play Fullscreen in the bottom right ? Do you think we should have made a much bigger one on the main menu to make it more obvious ?

Hah, very fun ! Great art and music ! There's a lot going on, and lots of it feel pretty polished, but I personnaly would have worked a little bit more on the "feel" of the punch/repair actions, as they lack impact for my taste, but other than that, it works great !
Super fun game! The presentation is excellent and the context of the game is really funny 🤣 I wish it was a bit more satisfying to punch everything, and I'm sure a few more sounds would have done a lot for that. But it's still very cool to play, well done!

@docgeraud @geoffroy thanks for the feedbacks ! We do have punchy sound effects for, well.., the punch & ~~gnomes~~ 👊🏻
However, something went wrong with Godot web export and the balance is now way off... We realized it too late to fix it. You can hear them by lowering the music volume on the main menu settings.

It's a very fun game, I liked hitting the dwarves)) Well, as it is, the game is really interesting, the mechanics are quite exciting and I want to keep playing. Also the music and sounds are very good

G'nomes aren't real, and if they are then you must do your part to make sure they aren't real anymore. But they aren't real. So all is well.
Loved the escalating music, wish I had time to read the dialogue while smashing those things that aren't real :D good stuff!
Really fun ! The atmosphere, sublimated by the perfect music, works well to make you want to reach the million views mark 😁 Well done !

This is amazing. You've consistently made great games, and you've outdone yourselves with this one. Every aspect of the experience is so well made. Even the main menu looked great and it set the mood perfectly.
The music is just fantastic, It's well produced, catchy and very funny.
The art is extremely well drawn and animated. I love all the subtle little details, and the animations of the ███████ are wonderful.
You're all very talented and creative people, and it really shows. It's fun just to be along for the ride. The posts during the jam were hillarious and really added to the experience. Great job, as always!
Oh, and I don't think this needs saying but I can confirm that Sweden is completely gnome free.
Beat it first try! That was so fun, the best part has got to be the music omg. Incredible game, y'all are so talented

Immaculate art style and I love the mic and wire mechanics. Felt like a really fair and frantic whack a mole
Very fun and funny entry, and the music was amazing :) Got an audience of over 1.7 million (1,760,000 iirc)
Now, it's gnome by everyone that gnomes don't exist, but I think you could have put some gnomes (fictional, of course) in your game to make it fit the Tiny Creatures theme. [insert twitch Kappa emote here]

The art style is simply GREAT. I love the music in this game, it really sets you up to beat the gnomes x) I was pleased that the gnomes are not like what we are used to seeing, but colorful and unusual. It was easy and fun to play, you are all awesome!
this is really good, the graphics are amazing, very funny concept, and very challenging, it took me a bit to beat it, amazing entry overall, my one complaint is the volume, because i would fix my volume on the title screen and it would be at a fine volume and then the tutorial ends and all of a sudden the volume for the music gets much louder and then the singing starts and it gets even louder, a couple of my runs were lost just to me having to lower the volume, but besides that everything else was great!!!
Great submission! The art and animations were well done! The gameplay was fun although it quickly grew repetitive and it I kept wondering how much longer the level would go on. The music was excellent as well! Great job team!

2024-10-15 07:12
@kyoryucomic yeah we always try to have the menu being more chill and quieter than gameplay phases to accentuate it... We also had some balance issue after compilation due to web export but it was too late to fix it in submission time and wasn't big enough to warrant a post-jam version. Sorry if that bothered you, maybe we could have adjusted the SFX of the volume slider to properly represent in-game music volume.
Thanks a lot for the constructive feedback !
@ascalem It's weird, this game require neither intensive graphical processing nor computations. Do you have this issue on both itch and Newgrounds ? Do you have any trouble running other HTML5 game ?

@furano I tried both and I had the same problem... It's a bit better on Newgrounds. It's strange because I have a gamer PC... but it seems to be a recurring problem on all GODOT games.

Fun game about keeping a news broadcast about gnomes on. I wish there would have been actual any gnomes but sadly they do not exist.
Great job! Nice visuals and nice idea! Keep making games!
The music is 👌👌👌 Is this game supposed to be about gnomes? I didn't see any...
I felt that the art really made this game! The little bit of story motivating my actions really went a long way as well. This was cute, funny, and well-done and turned a simple concept into a great experience :)
What a polished entry, awesome in all sections! Congrats!
OMFG LOL this is hysterical. I loved how frantic and chaotic it got, and the art and vibe are ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! I played without volume and from the other comments it sounds like I really missed out. But goodness, this was a lovely experience. The ending was even amazing lol, and then I had to replay to see what would happen if I purposely let one of those things-that-doesn't-exist into the frame...
