I had issues when restarting the game so it was difficult to enjoy the learning curve, other than that it's an amazing game!
I was alone but still tried to play it. It's playable when alone but I'm sure it gets harder when playing with others, so I think that's a good approach to the theme. The game has nice mechanics and it was really fun overall. It's just really difficult to test it more than 2 people so I'm not sure if it will get the ratings it deserves <3
I appreciate people having different takes with the theme. I really liked the idea. However some enemies were too imbalanced and annoyed me :D I stopped playing. Still, it was greatly fun!
As a contra fan, I really enjoyed the game. Not being able to stay put when shooting was a lil annoying, other than that everything was perfect for a jam game.
Sensitive controls are annoying yet the game is quite fun! Good effort!
I agree others saying it doesn't align well with the theme, it also got easier for me when I had more modules, and staying put + rotating to shoot instead of moving I did better. I enjoyed it to some extent then I realized it just became a patience game, because I'm not losing it anytime soon, I committed suicide. :) Good effort!
I enjoyed this one a lot even though I was able to break the game and having $328948324, it was stressful to see how my debts got worse and worse. In the end, I had the house of my dreams. Thank you for the game man!
I know you hate your game but I think it was a good approach to the theme, you could spend some more time to balance it and it will be a fun game imo. Good effort!
It was a little difficult to understand the instructions but yeah the more cars I had, the more brain gymnastics it was. Thank you for this game, it was fun!
I can't say it was the most fun jam game I've ever played but it was the one that has the best mood. It was okay with the theme, thank you for making us experience the amazing art!
I finished the game without turning on my flashlight, so I don't think the game is aligning with the theme. It does have a good mood and nice sounds. I think since it's a short game, it could use a procedural maze , so it's different each try. Good effort!
this game has a nice mood! I played several times to beat your score after you saying your highscore was 18 or something. It's super annoying that you can only pick up cats from 2 directions but also that makes the game so much fun. Good effort!
@theck animations are definitely programmerart :) Thank you for the feedback
@elendow Thanks for the kind words. We had only 1 artist and he did a real good job with the sprites, however animations were done by me(I'm a programmer), we could opt-out of animations if there was a choice :) But we had to keep the Graphics category because I think my friend did a great job there. Thanks again!
@james-dunlap Noone experienced that bug as far as I know. Sorry to hear you had that. It's probably the WebGL version :/ Thank you for your suggestion, you are probably right. Actually, you can use the red X button next to meat to drop meat, so you can give Steve only he wants, because he is GREEEEEEDY! Thanks for playing the game!
@bitsandcrafts I played the guitar in 10 mins improvising, 20 mins before the submission. It was stressful :D And thank you!
@navot Thanks for the kind words. Bridge is buggy yeh, it's an easy fix of moving a collider, maybe you can enjoy the POST JAM version when we're done with it <3 Maybe even MOUNT STEVE? WHAAAT? :P
One of the best games I played for this jam. I hope people will realize that the other sisters are the ones you controlled before, because HonestDan couldn't and I was surprised. This game deserves a good rating! GOOD EFFORT!
I had hard times distinguishing between the falling leaves and the ones on the ground, I wished they had a slight color change. I wasn't very good at the game but I still enjoyed it. Also, nice humor with the laser!
Finished it. Last bit was quite challenging , I mean I had to think wisely. Amazing game. Since it's a jam game and people don't spend a lot of time playing all the games, you could help the players more on the way. It wasn't the case for me. But that's what I learned jamming so far. Thank again for the great game! :)
Like others, I also had fun killing my astronaut because of the screams :) That definitely increased your humor points :P Great game! Lovely puzzles. Keep up the good work!
I drew quite great characters so I will rate you high in Graphics.
@pilarius @Mezeka @theufo Half of the people experiencing this issue and the other half is not. We are still investigating. If you can send us a Log file if it's okay( C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\StiffNecks\The Treble Clef\Player.log ) to bora@brainoid.com
I'll try to fix it if I can find out what is going on. Thanks for giving it a try ^^
@rdcooper Thanks for the amazing feedback. Actually, that's only the 1/3 of the game. You missed an instrument behind. I actually show a message there but obviously it's a little off the screen. I guess from the keyboard player, if you go back down and right, there should be a collectible drum, then you are good to go :) Thanks for giving it a try and thanks for the amazing feedback.
@theog @mezaka @theufo @pilarius Hey people! The issue is fixed. It was really stupid. If you have a nonUS display on your operating system, C# parses the number strings without considering the floating point value. And then my rhythm game puzzles get screwed. I added a line like
``` CultureInfo culture = new CultureInfo("en-US"); double number = Double.Parse("4.5", culture); ```
and it is fixed. I'd really appreciate if you could revisit our game and try to enjoy it. Much love!
@tommyflower Thank you. Just to clarify. You couldn't get past the first enemy because it was too hard?
@kekkodude Thanks for the lovely feedback. I often tend to make the jam games fairly easy for players to be able to see the most of the content, that's why I didn't implement the penalty for missing thing, people are already having difficulties :) But you are right, in a full game, that's a must have feature!
For the level design I didn't really have too much time, I literally wrote 2 games at the same time :) Everything you say is correct. Thanks again. :)
@tommyflower Ok, just wanted to make sure, there's no bug and you just failed to get past it :) Thanks anyway for trying.
@ivexnuke I agree. We didn't have much time to spend on the level design while literally making 2 games at the same time :) You are totally right. Thanks for playing! :D
Thanks for the feedback, I hope you didn't have to rotate your monitor to play the minigame :P
@carloso We have some shader issues on Mac, I wish we didn't :( Sorry. Thanks for the input <3
Amazing amazing game. It's just disappointing you cannot unlock COLORS! That would be awesome :P
Great theme alignment, wonderful simplistic graphics. And I love the mushroom effect! Lovely detail! <3
I loved baby bouncing in the air during the fight, it is really funny but at the same time it was frustrating that I couldn't find a way to not to make baby bounce away. And the game becomes ok it's gonna jump away anyways so let me try to clear the enemies first then run back to baby. Maybe that's not the actual gameplay but this mechanic made me feel like this so I preferred that way. I'm not sure if jumping helps you on that matter. I could use a dash / fatigue system here maybe :)
Anyway, BOUNCE IT ALIVE, I liked it. Nice graphics and audio. I can see Unity 2D lighting shining in there. <3 Good luck and thanks for the geim.
@justcamh Thanks a lot for your patience :) I was surprised you spent that much time with something that slow in the first place. Also, thanks for giving it another try offstream.
Hey! We made a card game for this jam as well so when I saw this I wanted to play it asap. Yeah, like others said it's not 100% fitting the theme but you've got some nice ideas going on here. Considering it's a COMPO entry, you did well! Keep up the good work.
Hey great game here. I experienced the horrifying loop in my bones. I often felt some of my deaths were random however I know they were not. It's just sometimes not clear to the player. In terms of graphics, I liked the models weird-ass texturing/shading and models were very well done. One of the best parts was the sound design ofc, adds a lot to the atmosphere.
Thanks for this game guys. I admit I had a few jumpscares lol.
@elendow Thanks for the lovely words ^^. We agree with the card feedbacks, unfortunately we didn't have time to add feedback to all of them. Once again, we enjoyed drowning in the huge scope waters.
Finished the game. Physics, game mechanics and everything works perfectly. I liked the aesthetics and the overall look. I hated the game difficulty. I think the difficulty is based on getting used to the jetpack mechanic. And it has a long learning curve in my opinion. And you introduce difficult levels immediately, because you want it to be a short game since it is a jam I understand. But then it is a problem that I'm not ready to use the jetpack in that difficulty, though I have to face it. It just brought anxiety to me rather than "OMG how did I fail? Let's try again." . I tried to finish the game so I see all the content to review the game properly. That's usually what I want from my players. For them to see all the content I created. I liked the chest opening at the end, even having the simplest puzzle level design there was noice. :)
Oh, and teaching the controls on Main Menu is always my favourite :)
Thanks for the game.
This was a fun one. Loved the parallax, it adds a lot. Also the lights with additive blending in front of the ship. Controls felt smooth. Gathered 4 ship parts. I didn't see any space worms. Having an "end" of the space was funny :) I liked how you bounce away from the edge.
I think fuel consumption could be more forgiving. Turning the ship either shouldn't cost fuel or maybe should cost less. Braking as well... I think those are ugly ways to balance the game difficulty. After collecting 4 ship parts from each side(east,west,north,south). I didn't know what to do... I don't know how many parts I should gather. A simple 4/N text somewhere could be awesome.
Eventually, I went deeper into the space and found nothing no ship part indicators or anything and ran out of fuel. Felt bad and didn't want to play again when I lost after collecting 4 parts. Because it gets too repetitive to do the same thing over and over again.
Thanks for the game! <3
@potkirland I totally understand. I get overwhelmed only by looking at our LD game page.
@paulsams Strength in numbers :) I totally agree
Wow! Insane how you made this game in threedaieaisdkjsldkjs hello
Hey, I'm not gonna state obvious here as many others mentioned vertical roaming is not big enough blah blah... I do not agree with those that say who you are attacking is not clear, it's obviously targeting the closest one. I definitely see this being much more playable with better verticality, maybe with some floating objects in the level so you need to flappy bird around things... And of course a variety of upgrades :)
Thanks for participating, btw I saw the game on ΓNOG <3
Should I talk about the stun-lock? No, I shouldn't right? :D Nice game man. I am not super against the stun-lock bit, it either needs a little bit balancing ( I'm sure you put enough time in it already :) ) or additional mechanics that softens the lock really.
I often wanted to see enemy HPs to prioritize them, it doesn't have to be HP ofc, just an indicator that one has less health than others. Maybe there is one, I didn't realize.
I dig the super simple controls, almost one button game. <3 You can just install it on a toaster and play it there lol. Despite the simple controls; it felt unique, so innovation points from me.
PS: Saw the game on ΓNOG <3
@zimny11 Thanks for playing and the kind words. For the fueling and watering the crops; you don't just bring the slider way right, you have to find the sweet spot which fills it faster. And each time you try to use the station, this sweet spot changes, so you have to search for it again.
But obviously, it is not very intuitive. That could be the criticism here :D
Thanks again!
@antonsem Thanks a lot for the lovely words. We are kind of famous with our unnecessarily huge scoped games. We made a serious talk before this jam to make a smaller game. We actually did. Comparing this one with the previous ones, it's like 20% smaller ^^ This gave us enough time to polish and balance the game.
Like I said on the comment I threw on your game, I envy the scope of your game. Minimal controls <3 I wish we could keep it that simple <3
@caudatecoder lol I watched the Disaster City bit. You pressed the EXIT button. and it doesn't say if you won or lost. Thanks for sharing the VOD <3
Classic kuviman fun. I often complained about hitboxes, but then I started dodging the shadows of the trees as well :D That helped!
Thanks again for the game, not much to say really :) It is wonderful!
I mean we already talked so much about this game on streams so now it only feels like I'm adding this comment for karma lol. Well, great graphics with a tasty color palette. I appreciate all the jokes and fun in the dialogues, I'd still prioritize balancing the minigame difficulty over the dialogues. The levels are cleanly designed. One or two sections felt like you needed closer checkpoints or something.( Only because it's a jam game btw, you expect to waste less time so you can move on to playing other games )
We love this game. Keep up the good work!
Very innovative, minimal and fun. The force you apply being added as a vector to the current velocity was difficult to get used to at the beginning but slowing down the time more helped me to stay alive.
I liked the balance as well, it has a nice learning curve.
hey folks. Nice entry here. I liked the visuals and the color palette. This is a weird music choice for a medieval themed game but goes really well with the pace of the game.
As for design choices, it's really fun to knock back arrows with arrows. I didn't feel like dashing much, the character move speed is already high enough. Using the obstacles as a cover is clever. I'm not sure about the slowmo thing. It felt good at the beginning but then I started to feel like, it happens a lot and kills the pace.
Overall, lovely entry! Good luck! PS: Saw the game on ΓNOG <3
I love the visuals. Sprite stacking done right. Also loved how you handled the Level of Details with zooming etc. Gameplay is not super innovative but still fun. Sometimes I felt like I was hitting some invisible doors but that's part of learning the game I guess. Music is a little repetitive but fitting, I like how it gets faster further you get. <3
I immediately spotted the improvement in your pixel arting. Enjoyed the noisy shader giving the nostalgic vibe. The gameplay is not offering much but still fun to play. It could get interesting with some extra but subtle additions to the gameplay. Thanks for participating, looking forward to see your next game!
@payaosito Thanks for the nice words <3. The last puzzle is actually not a hiccup jump puzzle :) But it's totally doable like that too! :D well, it is slightly harder. So the puzzle there is you need to drink water between the hiccups of other lizards so when you hiccup between them, your hiccup also raises the platform and you go high enough, you can make the jump. I implemented this puzzle in the final hour so it's not perfect sorry :D Thanks for playing the game!
Simple and cute as always! I wish I had the ability to get my game scope to this level :| I'm glad you put it out there man. It was fun. I have 2 things to make noise about. One, the enemies stacking a lot is blocking the view a lot, it becomes chaos at some point and it gets unreadable. That shouldn't be a factor in difficulty. I don't know exactly how to solve it, maybe drawing enemy sprites behind barrels?, or using semi-transparent outlines on enemies? Boy, the enemies look nice with the outline but they are thick :D
Second point is, the balance. I had to stop playing at some point because it didn't feel it's getting harder. Yes, it was getting crowded but still, I was killing same percentage of enemies because it's area damage I guess. enemies with more HP is the easiest way to get away with it I guess. Maybe there are enemies like that but after a long enough gameplay I didn't see anything like that or I didn't understand it.
I had to stop playing the game after several minutes: Javasaurus.png
btw music and SFX are great too, very fitting <3
I'm a one band man myself. with my guitar I play chords with high notes and a melody over it with bass notes. I love the experience. I wish there was a way to navigate through all the results freely but yeahhh. Me gusta!
EZ game. but couldn't finish it yet. And the music loop is too long, gotta shorten it a little bit I think <3
Juice in this game is satisfying. Gameplay is not super balanced but still enjoyable. It feels like it's a great prototype where it could be a part of a boss-battler game. Sounds are in harmony with effects which I appreciate. Thanks a lot for the entry!
I like the size of your team :P Just kidding. I love the game. The harmony between 2D and 3D although you have a huge contrast between colors is great. Background being a little desaturated is actually helping character to look more likely. SFX is great too. I think it could be easier for the sake of the jam since not many people play games that long.
the story telling, the art I love! How the story flows made me jealous <3 The head animation of the frog before you move on to the next section is adorable :D The gameplay was quite fun too! Thanks for this! It is inspiring!
Rude platforming, a nice sound effect you can enjoy when you run out of time, and a boss who can dodge fireballs but not bricks <3 My type of game. Impressing stuff for a compo game. I wish we had an annoying music in this game though. It'd increase my rage levels perfectly during the boss bit :D
Beautiful art! Obviously you ran out of time to balance the game but it was still fun to play. By the nature of the theme, I experience this a lot but every 10 seconds the game resetting is a big hit to the flow of the game. It gets interrupted a lot. Though it is an innovative idea to place your own checkpoints! Thanks for participating! <3
The music, SFX and graphics are on point. I love the different take on the theme where it is just a CHECK of where you are standing. I didn't see such mechanic so I appreciate it. The balance of the game is nice until one point :D Then it gets difficult all of a sudden, it could use some easing there. Others mentioned it too I guess but the perspective of the game is weird. Either characters should be top-down or blocky walls could use some perspective. Overall, because it's also a COMPO game, it is amazing! Very well done! Looking forward to see you on another LD!
@jeremy-ryan I'm sorry we couldn't give you a cute character to draw the fanart this time :|
@rickylee lol how long was the playthrough? :D
@rickylee impressive. I watched people playing the game for half an hour and only getting to N/30s You played it fast too I guess. Speedrunning habits.
Thanks a lot for the kind words <3
I need to teach you how to make readable UI :(
Multiplayer aspects of it was a little weird but I enjoyed it being on my desktop and playing it time to time like an idle clicker game. Jetpack exploration was engaging too. I could probably enjoy more if the visuals of the void change a bit the higher you go in the void. Maybe postjam :D voidreader.png
Fed the AI for now... On each LD, I try to make sure I play at least one Marioware style game :) You're the lucky team :P Controls were often clunky, like needing to click on the textfield is not a FUN challenge. I rather have harder sentences to type instead for a challenge. Clicking in the circles felt unresponsive too.
Other than these, I enjoyed the music and the pastel color palette. Looking forward to play more games from you, iyi Εanslar ^^
mmmm. rickylee flavour on top of classic boats style. Good one lads! I liked the balance of postjam version. I had more reasons to use the rest of the abilities there. :) Great entry!
@gord10ahmet no DOTS at all. it's just they get batched properly and reduce the draw calls
@sockenpuppe thanks for going the extra mile and downloading the game to watch the intro. we are very proud of it. And probably it's some sort of codec issue(isn't it always) with the WebGL video player.
this is the first time I play a game from you which has an artist. Simple idea, executed well. Music is a little bit repetitive but the rest is quite astonishing. Awesome and cute arts, buttery smooth gameplay. Thanks for the entry
I agree on comments saying game gets repetitive. The difficulty curve is not my favourite. I wasn't losing so I closed the game at this point: ld56.png
Loved the music and the artstyle. Also nice SFX too!
Ummm. I couldn't post my score on the leaderboard. I tried PRACTICE mode first, then switched to PLAY mode. maybe that broke some stuff? Very impressive visuals! And the gameplay is fun too! Though, I hated the default sensitivity of the mouse, it was so difficult to rotate the player before hitting the ball. I'd prefer a faster rotation by default and maybe holding down a button we can do precise and slow rotation. Another thing is the need of looking at HOW TO PLAY menu because it's hard to remember which animal does what... But I did find using different animals doing different stuff! Noice idea!
I enjoyed my time with this! Graphics look simple but polished! So about the gameplay, I did enjoy it. But I'd prefer another approach personally. I liked the usage of tiny creatures bringing your items back to base and their food consuming mechanic is also a good idea. But in practice, there were tons of grass so it never was a challenge. Never felt like I was going to run out. So, huge level... Instead of a huge level, I'd prefer a smaller level with some more puzzle elements what would make feel clever. So because I didn't get challenged, it became a chill exploration game for me and that is fine if you went for it! I enjoyed it as an exploration game anyway!
I also appreciate you having different music tracks for day and night. Though, they were a little bit repetitive. Thanks for the entry! <3
easy and effective. simple and beautiful. itsBoats everyone!
Our first comment coming from someone called @passalong is very significant - we did no comms pass the game challenge for this game. Thanks a lot for the kind words!
@link270 hey, thanks for the great feedback. one question, what do you mean by some other form of feedback on the signals? Like we have the music getting muffled when you are far away from the signal source or completely out of the signal zone. But I'm confused about what you said "something to help with the reflections". Thanks again!
Screenshot 2026-04-22 141837.png
Cool idea! A little bit overlayered for my taste. I felt like I could enjoy the game without the "BPM changing" and a bit balance of the enemies. Music and visuals got me going though. So, thanks for the entry!
amazing technical entry as always :D I really enjoyed this one. My only issue was that the music lacking a beat so you can feel the rhythm and go along with it. Considering all the limitations, this is an amazing game
I was only able to play for 3 mins and then accidentally restarted and played for another 3 mins. Then I had to go. I'll return to this game and complete it. It definitely deserves the time. Thanks for putting the effort to design this and the voice acting is really entertaining <3
Nice entry here guys! Loved the visuals. The Audio and the signal interperation is on point.
I stopped caring about acorns after dying to "not having a coyote time". The lightning always targeting the poor guys was brutal :D I think this listen to the signal approach is fun, it has room for improvement for sure.
It was a nice journey and I'm "home sweet home".
