LD38 — A Small World

ATLANTIS by OccultOne 2017-05-03T10:44:45Z

There was too much information given at once but as I understand each member had a different function and I needed mana to activate towers (which I could do without mana because UI let me do it) I could click buttons when they were not active and when I pressed end turn, character moved etc. So all in all UI was problematic, I liked the visuals and I see the potential, just not very playable as it is right now.

The Grass is Always Greener by intxparts 2017-05-03T10:23:58Z

I finished it twice to see if that was all or I did something wrong :D I think there could at least be an end screen and multiple levels. Anyway nice try :)

Snowed In by nuclearfriend 2017-05-03T16:11:45Z

Narration is 10/10. A little short but the idea of tilting to get objects to places is brilliant. Surely I have seen games that use tilting as mechanic but I haven't seen an adventure game do it. So I would say this kind of idea would work very well for a full scale game.

World of Memes by rodancheg 2017-05-03T17:57:22Z

I passed all tests! I am a winner! It seems you had a lot of fun making this, so did I playing it :) Captain here, dis gaem gut.

Hamsterscape! by Dzik 2017-05-01T20:35:37Z

@OccultOne The controls are not so difficult actually. Player 1: Arrow keys + Right Shift + Right CTRL Player 2: WASD + Left Shift + Left CTRL

Thanks for including us in the stream :)

Hamsterscape! by Dzik 2017-05-03T21:16:06Z

@hekst Oh no! I will try to create Linux and MacOSX builds sometime soon!

Slightly Angry Max by Takusan 2017-05-03T10:11:26Z

Despite being really simple I enjoyed the game very much. I think if enemies behaved differently and they had pathfinding this could be awesome. Speed boost and multiple bullets could be other power-ups. Very similar to Crimsonland so you can check that out if you have plans to develop it further.

Heart Work by nettleflap 2017-12-05T01:18:56Z

@benburgh Thanks! I'm not sure if that would be a good idea, they are already dying to piranhas if they are weak :D

Heart Work by nettleflap 2017-12-07T09:27:01Z

@jadw1 I'm having difficulty finding time to try games around this LD but will try yours the first if I can start playing finally :) Dzięki wielkie!

@riker-greenslade Thanks for the effort writing a long comment, hope you enjoyed the game despite its downsides :) I'll definitely increase the pull force of outer players to include them better in the game. Also getting bitten could be punished even more harshly, not so sure.

Noah's Balloon by nettleflap 2018-12-05T12:05:52Z

@ursagames Thank you! I wish I was there to see it live but I watched from the past broadcast. You are the only streamer who actually finished the game

Noah's Balloon by nettleflap 2018-12-17T01:12:58Z

@jupiter-hadley Thank you as always :)

Sidegrade by ReiMari 2018-12-05T16:27:12Z

Simple and nice shooter. I liked the link to theme as well. Maybe the graphics could be worked on and some more types of spaceships and mechanics would make it more interesting after a while but good job anyways.

Book of Fire by andre-606 2018-12-05T15:18:51Z

It was very unpolished game and idea is not the most original but I can see that you tried your best. Some critical problems were 1) jump didn't feel right and didn't work sometimes next to walls. 2) music was repetitive after a while it annoyed me. I actually ignored the fire throwing mechanic lol and finished the game with only knife. I hope you do better next time! Keep at it!

Let there bee sacrifices by Goplite 2018-12-05T15:09:13Z

It was a little confusing to be honest. I figured out the first part of fighting jackets. But I still had no idea how I produce more bees. Holding space seemed to work only sometimes. When it came to gathering wood part, the bugs next to the stump were not dying and I seriously didn't understand 1) how you gather wood and 2) how you produce more bees, so all my bees died to bugs. Audio would make it a better entry as well. I can see the idea behind this and I like it but I think mechanics should be delivered more clearly.

Let there bee sacrifices by Goplite 2018-12-05T16:03:37Z

@goplite I've read the text on the left but I still didn't get why holding Space doesn't produce drones sometimes and sometimes it does. Maybe when I was close to the flowers? Also gathering wood was kinda confusing. I guess they gathered when I was close to the stump? I don't know. Anyway I know there are limitations in a jam but have to point these out. Otherwise I can just say 'nice game' which doesn't really mean anything.

PURITY by jantunes 2018-12-05T15:58:44Z

Reeaaally interesting game. A bit similar to Guess Who. I would really like to play a full on game with this mechanic in its core. Good job. I found it every time in 4-5th turn. I bet that's not that good but well, I tried :D

Farewell Dear Cargo by ignaciogamedev 2018-12-05T18:57:24Z

Graphics and audio are really nice in the game but I didn't enjoy it very much. I think one reason was the game wasn't too responsive to what I was doing. I didn't really know half the time if I did the right thing. Especially when I had to throw things on one side for the first time, because it didn't work, like, 2-3 first times I tried it. Also had no idea when the journey will end. Some more feedback from the game would be nice. It's pretty short as well since you can finish the game under a minute.

The Chickening by Ryvencore 2018-12-04T02:50:45Z

I like the visuals more than the game I think. It was pretty short and repetitive. Actually didn't kill any gray chickens till the end and finished it in second try :D Nice try but not very innovative or special.

Views by arnau 2018-12-05T15:25:22Z

I got a 1450 score in the second try. This could make a mobile game, guess there are couple of them like this. I would say a free-cutting or somehow less limited cutting mechanic could make a more enjoyable game. Anyway I like the simplicity of it. Not a fan of music and graphics. Sorry!

Monstropolis by the Sea by timconceivable 2018-12-05T14:55:17Z

I reached 120 beasts at 17.40 :D I think it's endless I still don't know. Maybe it's a good idea to add information about that in the description. There are some balance issues obviously, the game doesn't get more difficult in time and it's really easy to max out. Otherwise it has a potential to be a really nice idle game. I'd consider making one out of this mega-beast concept. Do ittt! :)

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Soccer Racing by reuno 2018-04-25T08:42:54Z

Really nice idea and execution. I wonder if it would be better with mouse controls or if that struggle makes the game. Anyway, if there was a multiplayer competitive version, I think it could be with mouse and of course many more special moves :) Like it!

The Colossal Carrot Caper by rush 2018-04-24T18:15:52Z

I liked the graphics but visual cues didn't seem to match audio cues and even though I pressed according to the music it sometimes didn't work. So in the end I had to mash the buttons to get everywhere. Also wolves seemed to follow me sometimes and it felt a bit random.

Seven Ate Nine by topbraj 2018-04-24T19:56:20Z

Solid game. It could easily be used for an educational game pack along with some other games similar to this. Well maybe not, cause blood :P I could get 33 in the end btw.

Dunk Four by edj99 2018-04-24T19:46:50Z

Simple and nice game, maybe a bit too simple for my taste :D I could prefer if players lost their turn when they miss shot.
