This game was so satisfying and fun to play! Awesome job!
The graphics were AMAZING. The field, the UI, everything just worked so well, a genius work of art. At first I didn't quite understand what to do though, I just spammed 1 and somehow made it to lvl 40-45 or so. Tried to focus more on upgrades on the second run made it all the way to lvl 100+ using just "Extra missile damage", "Extra missile target" and "Heal 1 health". Audio (even though not done by you I believe cause opted out) was a really good pick to go along with the game, which did add to the mood a lot! The vibe I'm getting here is a turn-based protocol delta and I'm loving it. Congrats on the submission!

The game is so satisfying to play. I think I spent half an hour playing it just to see what the largest number was. Balance needs work however, I don't think I pressed anything except for 1 and I only upgraded the magic missile until it made the world's loudest most satisfying thump as it obliterated everything around me.
Did...did I win? I_think_I_beat_it.png Anyway, I know you mentioned you had some balancing issues right before you uploaded, but I had an absolute ton of fun nonetheless. Before I really started to figure it out it was a great little puzzle trying to work out the right combination of powers to play with. I can definitely see how with some better balancing it could be really challenging and fun. And believe me, our own team knows as well as anyone how hard getting difficulty balance can be. Art as always is amazing and adorable. You absolutely nail the clean minimalist look while still conveying all the necessary information. In the end I settled on the basic magic missile and the lightning bolt combo where I set up a mouse macro to automatically fire 5 missiles and then the lighting and combined with the health regen carried me smoothly onto level 1025. I know that wasn't your intention but it's also a testament to how well it's put together that I went that far and everything still worked just fine. I'm sure I could go for another 1000 levels but for now, I must sleep. Great job as always!
Being locked into powers you select is probably not a good idea for a longer game, but for the jam it works. Makes me think what I want to choose. Interesting combinations of powers. MM is overpowered, and regeneration makes me go immortal/infinite too easily. Used to play NetHack, and wizard is my fav class, so your entry instantly appealed to me. Only sad part is that it's too easy. Lots of fun on the lowest levels! Good game!

Pretty damn cool game!
Despite the fact that I basically broke the game with a meme build and became an unstoppable god, I had a great time with this one. Filling the screen with magic missiles was hella satisfying. And you gotta love the trademark boats aesthetic. Fun game
Amazing graphics and overall aesthetics! Despite some balancing issues the game very fun to play and addicting.
Reminds me a bit of Baba is you, this is a really good time killer game. Seeing bigger levels or obstacles you can't destroy would be cool!

Very nice aesthetics! Simple clear graphics, great colors, nice music and sfx. Very good job! The game plays well and feels very polished. It's fun to go around and destroy things for a while :grin:
My only criticism would be the level of challenge. You get more and more powerful as time goes on, but it feels like the game does not offer a raising challenge to mach that power. So, after a while, there is little incentive to go on. However, restarting from zero to try different loadouts and abilities is nice.
Very polished game! Probably the highest rated game i've played in this ludum dare. It has tons of depth and its lots of fun.
I found the green squares surrounding my character confusing but i just ignored them and everything worked out well
Damn Slims won't get to my pudding (and sammich) ever again!!!!

Still has a way to go and a couple builds are still a little broken, but its a step in the right direction ^_^

Way more fun now - the postjam :thumbsup:. One thing I noted that sometimes I want to click with LMB on the bottom row powers (1-4), but it doesn't work. Plays way better now, with some careful strategy needed and higher stakes.

Music is great, jam version is way too easy but it seems you fixed that in post jam. I really enjoyed this one.
Really enjoyed this. I struggled figuring out what to do at first, then it took me quite a while after that to notice this whole upgrade thing on the side of my screen. Once I got that figured out, I became an unstoppable magic missile spam machine and it was great fun. Awesome work.
Really nice cohesive visual look and good polish. I liked the effects like when you shoot the missile and it swirls around. Colors are fun and arcade-y, too. I played for a while without noticing that you can upgrade stuff on the right.
Felt and looked good! very juicy, very intriguing. I played the jam version and felt it was a little less strategic than expected. It felt too rewarding to stand still and attack repeatedly vs choose sensible movements. I found the teleport ability I wasn't expecting to click to use it - maybe E again woulda made more sense - but that could just be me. I did not realise I was getting upgrades for 10 levels. I love that you added an auto buy option for them though - and I was glad it wasn't the classic, intrusive popup after each round to choose 1 of 3 upgrades. It felt nicer, just maybe needed more attention to help new players know there were upgrades. Lovely clean UI.

Very nice game. It was a bit struggling to figure out what to do, but that was completely on me. Well done ! Great entry, simple graphics BUT perfected graphics, audio and effects were very juicy and it didn't get boring, not even slightly after 75+ levels. Love this one, great game !
Fun fact: I sent this game to my partner for them to check it out; they said they only stopped playing because an (unrelated) alarm went off on their phone, otherwise they would still be playing for hours 😅
Nice game! I like what you were going for with the different enemies having different movement/attack patterns. It's pretty easy to ignore that and just spam magic missile... which is still surprisingly fun thanks to the nice graphics and effects.

The UI effects were juicy as always. :ok_hand: Good stuff! As you can probably tell from the VOD, this is definitely one of those games I can catch myself mindlessly playing and enjoying without any annoying friction taking me out of the experience. Very difficult to pull off for a jam game!

This was so snappy and the systems were really smooth. I did eventually feel a bit overpowered, blasting magic missiles and obliterating the field without doing much movement. I didn't care, though, because I was having so much fun. This even had elements of chess sometimes, trying to figure out how to get the enemy close enough to hit. You did a really great job making a genuinely fun game!
Okay, one more time. :D

Really loved it. The UI is sexy as flip, and so are all the effects and particles. The game plays quick and has a nice rhythm to it. It took me a while to fully understand what was going on and to learn all the enemy patterns. For the sake of being a jam game I would have liked to see the difficulty wrap up quicker, as my latest score took me over an hour. One of my favorite games this LD, thanks guys!

I have no real criticisms except I didn't notice the upgrade panel for over 10 levels!!!!!!! I don't know if that's me being stupid or what but I feel like a little more fanfare on it would be nice.

Really a lot for a short time in a jam. Good sounds and nice graphics. Even playing for a while and reaching level 24 I'm not sure if I completely understood what was happening because I don't have much experience with this type of game, but it's certainly very well done.
