This is a fun little game. I really like the style and music. Simplistic gameplay is really easy to pick up.
Very fun and addicting game, love the inclusion of a leaderboard
I like this take on the theme! The controls are hard to get used to, but that just adds to the fun.
Seems like a properly polished game! Really enjoyed it. Slightly annoying that the car keeps correcting itself after a turn, it was slightly difficult to get a hang of that.
Additionally, a simple race against the clock without any victory condition seems to be the main theme that people go for.
I loved the ending music! really fun game! wonderful graphics, nice concepts, and cool gameplay. Well done!
Simply fantastic! The theme was on point, the aesthetic was really fun and well suited, the gameplay was fair but challenging, the graphics and audio were really nice, and overall I just had so much fun playing this. I had to keep going until I got on the leaderboard (6th place at the time of writing), spending maybe 20-25 mins playing.
Great job!
Cool little game, i really like the art style and gameplay! Controls were a bit frustrating, though that kept up the challenge for me.
Really nice! Also cool voxel car!
Reminded me of GTA’s side quest (taxi, emergency, …). Good proposition !
Is it intended that full screen can see so much more than default view on itch.io?
Hard to see what we can drive on and where are the walls, at least tat first glance. In the end we learn which is which. Looking at it again I think the itch.io version did something wrong in my browser, your gif looks better . screenshot from itch.io
Fun game! I love that you could honk the horn in the menu, it's fun mastering the drifting and the music is really catchy! A couple of suggestions: I wish I could honk my horn in the game! I also think the game would be more interesting if I had more than one target customer at any given time and I could choose which one I think is better. Overall great job!
Great graphics! Love the concept and whole idea <3
@zykino wow, that shouldn't be happening! 😅 Maybe you have more luck with the non-embedded version. I can't replicate your screenshot, but maybe we can find a fix for it
@loveschach great suggestions! With the time limit there are some features we couldn't get around to, but maybe after the ratings end we can polish it some more with some extra features :D
Super cool game! Looks very nice and the music is really great aswell. Though sometimes the music stopped playing for a while. Amazing submission regardless!
Feel like a crazy taxi I LOVE IT. Good job ;) You should display the leaderboard directly when we died :D
cool game. at first it felt like the car was getting stuck as soon as you hit something but with a little training the driving itself was pretty fun
The best game I've played so far. Graphics on point. Gameplay smooth, and I think I would have enjoyed even just an exploration mode, where I had time to drift around. The audio is very well done. Transitions in tempo and pitch depending on what's happening in game really adds to the experience. Managed top 20, but must see if I can climb i bit higher :)
One suggest I would make is to make it more obvious where a delivery zone starts and ends. Also, if I could just drive through the zone without stopping would make delivery more pleasing, and make keeping momentum and drifts skills more of a deciding factor.
🎵 I wonder if you know, they deliver gelato... 🎵
love the graphics and idea! struggled a little with the controls but once you got the hang of it its nice!
Cute and polished mini-game :) I would like more game mechanics out of 10sec theme.
Had a good laugh. That sad game over jingle!
Really well polished game! I liked the art style a lot, nice and colourful and has a cool blend of 2D and 3D styles to it.
Nice artstyle & humour! Loved the little ice cream van. Steering while facing down was confusing as the direction was flipped and made some customers unhappy. The time pressure was well balanced because I managed to get just right on time most of the time and felt good.
Yo well done!! I love the leaderboard feature, because I like spending a lot of time trying to get to the top. This game is also very replayable so it was fun trying to get the highest score! (I had to be Sorbet :p) Screenshot 2022-10-04 155024.png
I also love the way bonus points works. It challenges me to find the best way to deliver my ice cream. It also helped me discover new ways to drive. I had a very long streak of clean deliveries \( ̄︶ ̄*\) It was great seeing that multiplier go up and getting rewarded for not bumping into the walls.
Can't forget the jingle, the fact that it sped up every time you leveled up was great! It's also going to be looping in my head the entire day, which is a good thing ᓚᘏᗢ
I can totally see myself playing this to kill some time (and I totally will keep playing to beat that #1 highscore!) It's super polished and it seems like you guys put a lot of thought into the design. Good job to the both of you! I love it! (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
Very fun game, besides the fact collision boxes are kinda broken and you need to get used to them :)
I hope this goes flappy bird, congrats
Very fun, a bit difficult at first time but overall pretty good. congrats
Nice work, the music make me smile. Its not my art of game but it is fun for a short time. keep it up
Wow so nice game, controls feels nice and game design is really thing in this game Really satisfying to compete with other players haha Great job!
omg the scores are hiigh here, I am struggling to go past 600. on Itch it seems it moves the screen as we type the arrows, I will try fullscreen maybe I will get better records. Great grapphics and effects, a very crazy taxi vibes in here.
It's not 6830 but it's something! I'm just thankful collisions don't damage the truck or I would've struggled immensely.
Screen Shot 2022-10-04 at 17.46.04.png
Fun game overall, liked the music and sfx in particular.
Congratulations the game feels great and looks amazing too !
Nice game!
The crazy taxi concept is simple and well executed, I liked how the difficulty ramp up! The scoring system is cool. Driving felt mostly good, except when you get stuck on corners.
The menus are gorgeous and the fake 3D truck is really clean.
Thanks for the game, I had fun 🍧🚚

:eyes:
24th place, good enough! Nice game, really liked the graphics style! The corners were a bit too clunky for me, also its strange that the ice-cream truck can not go over grass :P Anyways well done!
Super fun game! Wish the music would loop, and someone else mentioned clearer delivery zones would be handy, but doesn't detract from the gameplay at all! Good job, great game!
This is so fun to play. I appreciated how the audio changed at the end of the game when the time ran out. Time pressure feels spot on... chaotic but not to the point where it's frustrating/feels impossible to complete the task.
Great game, spend almost a hour playing this. At least i partially in the leaderboard, lolScreenshot 2022-10-04 at 18-34-24 Gelato Drift.png
Oh god!! I can do this all day,,,amazing drive feeling amd ghaphic ..are thoese buildings 3D models too? looks so nice ,,,and many details I like ,,good job man
i like this game, the controls are a bit hard at the beginning
the SPEED UP text brings up wario ware memories deep from lower brain depths
solid, coherent package, ice cream truck and aesthetic feel 12/10
my fingers enjoyed the driving mechanic and making sick drifts, it's tricky at start but with some practice becomes easier
I wish that just slamming in the small people would make the delivery, it would be great to not have to stop and just deliver ice-cream mid-drift ( E P I C M O M E N T ) and continue!
I love the LD51 flower pattern    very elegant
This was the best game I have played so far, form the visuals to gameplay!
What is this JuiceBox engine, what lang. is is based on, does it have GUI?
Love it. Would like to see gamepad support!
The drifts are so funny :heart_eyes_cat: good job
Loved the game ! I really enjoyed drifting and the overall experience is really fun ! Well done :)
Do your truck hang low do it wobble to and fro. Can you drive it 50 knots? While scooping gelatos?
Best execution of a web game I've seen, fits perfectly in a browser window and plays flawlessly. Good execution of of the theme, great art, fun mechanics. A joy to play! Not to mention leaderboards which kept me coming back trying to best my last score.
Amazingly polished game with a lot of extras on top of it! Great fun little game, love the leaderboard feature
Super fun. The music getting more intense really made my driving more erratic!
The drifting feels very good and the art style is lovely! I would love to try a mode where you don't have to stop to serve the customers and could just drift around the town non-stop.
Noticed your game on homepage before submission and made sure I got to play it! It's so fun and the little icecream truck drifting so smoothly just won me over. Well done!
Really fun even if I suck at it! Love the music :D Graphics look really good and cute! :)
Amazing!
One of the best games I've played so far! Drifting felt tight which is quite rare in games like this. Excellent entry! 😁
Fun use of the theme and the ice cream truck music really adds to the fun of the game. Only criticism is I am used to driving games where you'd be able to drive over grassy fields or concrete so it took a moment for me to realize that they were impassable.
Some brilliant web code was written for this one wow. The graphics are AWESOME. Couldnt get into the gameplay very much. Maybe with some progression it would pull me in.
Really fun! had a good time with this zone, I agree with little delivery zones!
Really nails a nice balance between style and substance. It's cute and vibrant visually, easy to learn and hard to master, as any good arcade game should be. It is really satisfying to nail a tight turn.
Fun concept, but the driving felt quite clunky to me, I think the collisions need to be more slippery, so that you don't loose all your speed and have to reverse after hitting something.
@madr Juicebox Engine is my own game engine written in C# and transpiled to JavaScript. It doesn't have an editor if that's what you mean with GUI. 🙂 It does have a GUI system for rendering GUIs in games of course.
I did write tools to export from level editing programs like Tiled to make development of games easier.
I was crashing into walls so much at first but the drifting is pretty satisfying once you get used to it.
The music was good, fits the theme so well. I also like the 3D model car on the 2d background.
By the end I think I was pretty much just going back and forth between the same two people...
I love the visuals. Sprite stacking done right. Also loved how you handled the Level of Details with zooming etc. Gameplay is not super innovative but still fun. Sometimes I felt like I was hitting some invisible doors but that's part of learning the game I guess. Music is a little repetitive but fitting, I like how it gets faster further you get. <3
Hi i had a graphic bug too. That made it look not nearly as good as in the screenshots.
LD_Bug.png
quite impressive technique that you used for rendering the truck great game
Love it! The controls are a bit hard though ^^" What engine did you use to make this? It looks diffrent from anything I've seen yet :-)
Music is awesome! I like the gameover music too, very fitting. I also like that the first delevery is not timed, so you can get used to the controls a bit.
@bender-biber how strange! May I know which OS and Browser you are using?
Also, would you maybe have any settings/extensions that would alter image loading? (Making images brighter/darker or something)
Very fun! I love the art and the music and it's very fun to play. Great work!
@thomz12 Windows 11 Standard Firefox
It might be an issue with my integrated Intel GPU
I played the game on my Laptop
What an amazing little game ! I cam here from your blog post about how you created the Ice Cream track, but the gameplay it'self was really fun and kept me here for longer. Having a Leaderboard system is also neat!
Pretty fun, well polished, good graphics, good sound, good level transitions. Good use of theme. Grante I'm terrible at any driving game so not making the top 10 anytime soon.
I definitely hit more walls than open-road XD, but as a Crazy Taxi fan I thought this game was fun. Nice job!
Very juicy, very polish, very pleasant to play! I hit all the walls
Loved this entry! Was a ton of fun careening around the turns to get to those hungry folks. I really liked the 3d-in-2d effect and the art style in general. The ramping up of the music was great too. I also appreciated that the timer didn't start until after the first deliver so that I could learn the controls for a bit. My only critique is that it was unclear if running into things had any effect aside from slowing me? Great job!
I know i'm just a small comment among a lot of others since your game has such a big success but once again, well done ! Everything looks very polished and it's super smooth to play ! Quite impressive for only two people ! GG wp
Really cool delivery game with gorgeous graphics and somewhat sketchy controls.
@wouter52 it's my own game engine called Juicebox. Written from scratch in C# and transpiled to JavaScript! 🙂
Nice work
Haha the music is amazing! Great game, great style.
Nice job! Was really fun and the driving felt a little wild, but also controllable which made the game really enjoable.
Professional work. The game is polished to the nth degree. Well done
Great stuff! The game felt polished to the nth degree, with the look and feel of a released game. I think I would have enjoyed this even more with a game controller. My only complaint is that it took me a while to figure out what to do - I thought I had to pick up icecream from the start and deliver it, but I couldn't pick it up. I spent a while wandering and looking for icecream since driving by your first customer doesn't trigger anything (eventually I realized I had to _stop_ by them). Awesome work!
Super cool art and music! Fun game overall :) Congrats!
This was really fun! Love the idea, the artwork and the music! It's really something unique!
nice and well made! the controls felt a bit clunky to me, mostly it felt like after stopping steering I couldn't predict which way the car would finally end up pointing, which made things a bit frustrating.
Nice "crazy taxi" vibes ^^ its was fun !
Slick presentation and extremely polished. Gotta say, though, the controls were pretty frustrating - my brain kept wanting to press down to go down. Took a while for me to adapt to the relative controls.
Either way, great job and fun game!
Great game, some weird tiling flickering issues, but except that it's well polished!
Nice entry :)
Art style and sound design are really well done!
But van control process feels a bit weird: - It took time to get used to van's intention to straighten up when A/D are not pressed. That's the moment when the illusion of car driving expirience breaks. I guess it works so to make drift mechanic possible, doesn't it? - Extremely strict collision boxes that doesn't allow to ride over grass and asphalt nearby houses.
Also I guess I faced with a bug: - Van shaking seems to be fps dependent animation, because on my PC it shakes extremely fast what looks like motion blur. Unfortunatelly van isn't blurred on screenshots or a capture video, so I can show only a photo of my screen.photo_2022-10-08_18-38-55.jpg
P.S. thanks for your post about van rendering process :D
Great game guys! The look, the mood, the adrenaline rush, the music (boys I love the fact that it speeds up #nopressure) are all amazing and fits together really well. The gameplay is super compelling (could easily play an hour trying to beat the highscore). The only thing I could see perfected are hit boxes, that seem a bit too generous in particular around buildings (I had a ton of crashes in places that did not look like I wouldn't be able to drive on them, like sidewalks). Overall, an incredible entry!
That was tons of fun haha
So simple yet so fun to play! This game has taught me how to run over kids waiting for their gelato ;-P Commands are clear and same goes for the mechanics. The interface looks good, so everything makes it a playable and enjoyable game. Great job!
GLORIOUS DRIFTING. I'd never thought I'd be drifting with an ice truck. It would have been fun at the end to have a statistic about the amount of people you would have killed :D How the truck was getting stuck on the sidewalk was sometimes annoying. Maybe intended, but difficulty might rather be moved somewhere else rather than on a table-flip inducing mechanic. Everything is very cohesive and makes for a really fun and charming experience. Maybe the score breakdown on delivery could have been a bit larger to see it more easily. Glorious entry, thanks!
Very cool(ehhh?) game, I like that the first few are all close together to help you get the hang of it.
Pretty hard to control, but this thing just makes me try again and again. I liked this game, thank you for publishing!
That was fun. Nice game and nice soundtrack, did recognize it from somewhere. Maybe a little circle around the person once close would have been nice to know how close to drive when approaching them.
Man I'm terrible at this, lol. Definitely feels tight and responsive though, and very polished! I might suggest that you let the player drive over the grass though, feels weird to come to a dead halt when you run into it.
I like the game, but why does the car turn by itself?
The level of polish of this game is simply amazing :)
Great art and really polished car movement! At the beginning I was just driving without even realising I had to go and deliver ice-cream cause just driving was fun on its own, so well done on that!
Nice game but pleease let me drive on the grass, I'll pay for the gardener ^^
Fun game. Got a high score around the 2600 mark. Driving on grass would've been nice (even if there was a penalty), and the controls felt funky at times. But not starting the clock until the first order is very nice to get acquainted to the controls.
I am very bad at driving :P But I liked the drift. Nice Entry!
It's a really cool game! Just a little too easy to get stuck in a wall
The controls are pretty intense - but it makes quite some fun! Good entry - I love the simple graphics!
Really nice aesthetic! Gameplay was a lot of fun too, just like so much colliding with walls haha! Backing up felt weird too, but I'm not sure why. Excellent work!!
fun game! only suggestion would be to ease up on the collision animation for lighter collisions, it is a bit distracting. Great Job!
Super fun to play! Get 1385 in leaderboard!~ Love it!
Really cute looking game the 3d effect for the truck works nicely. I was getting a weird graphical bug where I see all these little lines appearing/disappearing between the tiles as I move around, like little seams, they seem to show bits of another tile. Apart the gameplay is simple but fun, the control of the van feels a little bit weird as if when I turn and then straighten up by just pressing forward the van turns a bit the other way. Sound track also fits nicely too. Good job.
I like the graphics. Interesting concept with great implementation. Although, I found the controls a little too hard.
Instant a classic. It has all the feel and love of an 80s arcade game. The highscore hunt, the loveable graphics and the smart but effective idea. I love this a lot.
Really great job! I definitely had a super tough time controlling the vehicle, especially once crashing into curbs. But hey it was a blast to speed around and try to do as many drop-offs as possible. I think it would've been fun to do drive-by drop-offs without needing to actually stop for a second or two. I know it's not as realistic but would make the fast paced driving more intense haha Overall this was really awesome, great job!
that was fun, I'm very glad that the kids can't run over because I would have run over them all
I found something wrong with the controls. But I can't describe it properly. I guess I didn't like such a strange turn-around in relatively narrow streets. But it's also possible that I'm just clumsy and looking for an excuse :D
I would appreciate it if I could pass the ice cream without coming to a complete stop. Again, I appreciate that I can give it from quite a distance and the game will allow it.
good job
Cool game, with aswesome graphics and awesome music! I really enjoyed playing this game, it is also quite addicting. It also helps that there is a leaderboard. :)
I like how you actually have to stop near the customer, but it would be nice to have some visual feedback to know if you are close enough. Something about the steering was a bit weird, but that also made it hilarious.
I like how the music changes after a while and gets you all hyped, also the transition into the game over music is nice.
I like how you can take your time to get to the first customer and learn how to drive the truck.
Overall, great game! Well done  :icecream:
Very well polished game! I love the driving feels in this game a lot. The music and soundeffects are super good too. 10/10 entry!
I hope real ice cream cars does not drive as i am.
Cool game. And you did a great job especially on the music, which is why the looped gameplay does not bother, as it could bother in other cases. And your game reminded me of "Retro City Rampage" from the first seconds, huh.
I like the graphics, humor and mood, but I couldn't get the hang of the backwards driving (is this a bug?) so I gave up, which made me a little sad. Ah well.
Impressive stuff all around. Loved drifting through the city after getting the hang of it, the music is catchy to a nasty degree. Never a dull moment! Amazing work!
